The one where Oliver gets tortured for around half the episode not enough ??? I totally didn’t know the episode number before you said it specifically because I memorized it for literally no reason…
And I totally haven’t rewatched all those torture scenes multiple times and got annoyed whenever said torture was interrupted by flashbacks— I would never …
Nah jk I will continue to rewatch those scenes, that’s indeed one of my favorite episodes and Chase is my favorite Arrow villain. Third favorite Arrowverse villain. The absolute psychological warfare he waged on Oliver was INSANE and he was so awesome. Excellent whumper and I do wish we saw more of him.

4. Do you prefer physical whump or emotional/ psychological whump?: Emotional. The physical whump is what I often write but it’s to get to the emotional whump. And tbf, physical whump and emotional whump are a package deal. You can’t have torture without the psychological effects of it.
10. When did you first realize you were into whump?: Childhood, though I didn’t know there was a word for it at that time ofc. I always enjoyed when characters got captured and had no idea why (I had a period of time where I seriously thought there was something wrong with me for that. Twas not fun.)
17. When was the last time you got the whumperflies?: I am SO glad you asked!! Was going through the scenes from Barry’s prison arc (if you can even call it an arc. Considering it did next to nothing.), specifically when he was in the metawing. Not bad whump ngl. But THIS PART took the cake.

2. Do you prefer illness whump or injury whump?: Injury 100%. Sick whump just doesn’t do it for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
5. Who is your favorite whumpee?: (other than him) but my beloved blorbo— :((((( I’ll go second favorite then and that would be Sam Winchester. This poor man *spoilers from Supernatural season 5 finale onwards* was imprisoned in hell with the literal devil and was canonically tortured by Lucifer for (estimated) 200 years (possibly longer depending on how hell time works). He came out of the experience completely traumatized then the show repeatedly makes him work with and see Lucifer after the fact (there were A LOT of problems with how the show handled that for the record). All of this makes him an excellent whumpee. And Lucifer is horrible which makes him a good whumper. *spoilers over*
But quick shoutout to Hiccup Haddock because he’s number 3 and just so freaking whumpable it’s not even funny
7. What are the traits of your ideal whumper?: Hmm. Creepy/intimate for sure, so many whumperflies… smart; knows what they’re doing and if whumpee escapes it’s all controlled and/or part of the plan. Does their own dirty work, doesn’t use henchmen or whatever to do the whumping.
I’m not super picky with my whumper tbh, I can work with pretty much anything.

My least favorite thing is when canon gets a character’s whump wrong.
They would not fucking act like that while captured or tortured.

1. Favorite whump tropes: Oh man. There’s so many let’s see. When a whumpee ‘breaks’ and the process of breaking them, collar whump, kidnapping (any kind and for any reason. Plus that usually comes with some form of bound and gagged which is another fave), intimate/creepy whumper (whumperflies everytime), defiant whumpees but especially if they’re using defiance to hide fear (and when that mask slips😌🤌), electrocution as a torture method, long term captivity (I see it less in fics but the whump community is on top of that one), whump aftermath (everything about it has god tier potential), and focusing on platonic relationships over romantic ones (or at least an equal focus on each)
14. Least favorite whump tropes: I’m not super picky but there’s a few. Gods it’s so specific but I hate when whumpee’s call their whumper ‘master’ idk why but it’s an almost immediate DNF for me. This is something I feel very strongly about outside of whump as well— when romance is the focus in the aftermath. Specifically those ones where it’s like ‘whumpee went through this and now the only one who can help them is {love interest}’ and voilà the power of love saves the day! It can be done well— but too often I see love and relationships erase and/or solve trauma. That’s not how it works.
17. When was the last time you got whumperflies?: Hmm. Probably last night when I read this post from @letitbehurt that was toe curling dear gods and so so good

Hands in Whump
-Running a gentle hand through Whumpee's hair, whispering reassurances into their ear.
-Grabbing Whumpee's arm to stop them from escaping, digging their nails into the flesh.
-A red, stinging handprint left on the side of Whumpee's face after a slap.
-Caretaker using their thumb to wipe tears off of Whumpee's face.
-Fingers intertwined, comforting pressure on the hand.
-Placing the back of the hand on Whumpee's forehead to check their fever.
-A hand broken after being stomped on by Whumper, Whumpee trying to get their fingers to move.
-Palms and fingers burned on a hot pan or stove.
-Fingernails being broken or ripped out.
-Cupping Whumpee's face.
-A hand clasped over the mouth to keep Whumpee from screaming
-Gentle hands applying bandages to aching wounds.
-An outstretched hand, offering aid and protection.
-Hands in the air to signal surrender.
