Gizmo: Y'ever try buying something actually useful? Atlas: Ever trying doing something actually useful? - Atlas: Ready to cause some damage? Gizmo: I'm offended you even asked. - Despite not being biologically Technis' they somehow inherited all of the sass. - Primus forgive me, how long has it even been since I drew these two morons? Two of my oldest OCs; Technis' adopted children, Atlas [taller one]:a trust-fund child that makes maps and does nothing else even remotely legally - and Gizmo [shorter one]: a genetically engineered super weapon designed for chaos and chaos only. Both with modified designs. Don't bother look at their old ones; I hate them, now.

Pin-up art trade with @saki-noir. First time drawing this obnoxious bean with her new leggies. Good practice. Except the rock. It's weird and don't look at it. In turn, she did this gorgeous piece of WireTap, who sadly, has not gotten any much from me thus far and I shame myself for it. She's lovely. Thank you so much, you know it's always a pleasure to see my many many many children in your glorious style and I will always jump at the chance to draw Sylph when I can.

I can’t does color. Here are my stupid train children and their new looks. These designs are in-universe upgrades from their original designs.
The Astroforce, a group of earth-made trains under Astrotrain’s command. They’re more of a group of dysfunctional children, but this is nothing new for the Decepticons. They’re highly devoted to Astrotrain and follow his word as law, but when not being monitored, will run wild unless given direct orders.
In Order from Left to Right; Top to Bottom: Trackside | Injector | High Rail | Switchman | Rail Grinder
Mini Bios until I finish writing stuff under cut. [I’m using gendered pronouns, but feel free to call them what you like]

The Team - The Astroforce for came to life as drones made by Astrotrain by combining some earth computers with old trains at a train yard. [Season 2 G1 Episode: Triple Takeover]. The trains, by the time they were found, where already old models and had been left dirty, damaged and on their way to the scrapyard, their bodies already barely functioning by the time they're up and running. Extra damage caused by crashing into each other and, later, a massive flood, left them nearly destroyed. However, at Astrotrain’s insistence, they were brought back to Cybertron to be fixed, a task given to Technis for losing a bet. There was little hope for the five until some time later when the Key to Vector Sigma was found and used on them, same as with the Stunticons.
Even with Technis’ hard work put into it, they still barely functioned, each with their own unique defects. The outdatedness of the technology making they were madr og meant simply replacing the old parts impossible. Instead, new bodies had to be constructed. Each is now stronger, faster and sturdier than previously, but each also have their own custom upgrades. Technis tried to keep their bodies close to their originals to help ensure their sparks wouldn’t reject them.
None of the members of the force have any real memory of their “lives” as actual trains. Their first memory, albeit as drones, was of Astrotrain and, in a way, they sort of imprinted on him. They follow him around and really only listened to him, at first. They can communicate with each other via a code that consists of blinking their lights and whistle-blowing.
Injector - Team leader. Though quiet and somewhat timid, Injector is a capable leader and one of the few people her rowdy group will listen to without question. She has the habit of over exerting herself trying to prove her capabilities, especially around authority figures, leading to her constantly feeling anxious and overthinking things. She is the only steam engine of them all and, when angered or flustered, will blow steam out of her chimney and can heat up an entire room in seconds. Her new upgrade allows her better control over her abilites, to the point where she can breath fire or create cover smoke at will. She can also run on a combination of water and coal/wood as well as energon.
Trackside - The most aggressive of the bunch, Trackside boasts a fiery temper and strong determination. She’s the first to resort to violence in most situations, especially when her siblings are in danger [though she never turns her aggression to any of them or her boss]. She likes sport anime and actual sports; call her out for the weeb that she is and she will break your knees with that bat she carries. She is incredibly enthusiastic and will pull her siblings into whatever she happens to find interesting. She is the strongest, physically, and is probably the most cunning of the five, or, at the very least, the most likely to take advantage of any given situation presented to her.
High Rail - High Rail is incredibly energetic and is the fastest of the crew, both in root mode and alt mode. She has a tendency to run her mouth with wanton abandon, but is quick to apologize if she oversteps her boundaries. The series of highly sensitive finials are able to pick up subtle vibrations and changes in the EM Fields of those around her. She cannot be around too many people at once or else she they become overstimulated, disorienting her. She is the most open and friendly, usually the first to greet anyone. If she senses any negative intentions from someone, she will back off, alerting her siblings and anyone who knows her that this person is not to be trusted.
Switchman - Switchman is the calmest and most perceptive of the group, but can be highly insecure. He’s the curious type who enjoys learning how things and people work and would prefer to sit back and figure things out as opposed to barreling headfirst into a situation as most of his other siblings would. He likes to hide away in the medbay instead of going out and work like the others. Technis was quick to pick up on his natural curiosity and taught him some of her medical expertise, figuring it was better he learn something instead of just sitting around doing nothing all day. He picked it up fast. He enjoys movie nights with a few of the other cons and is fond of film noir and mystery movies. He usually figures out who-done-it before long, but enjoys them none the less. He also has a small collection of mystery novels.
Rail Grinder - “Jack of all trades, master of none, still better than a master of one” is his life’s motto. Like Switchman, Rail Grinder, or Reggie as he prefers, is insatiably curious and must figure things out, however, he is much more hands on with his “research”. He will happily take on any task when asked, if for no other reason just to learn how to do it. He also just enjoys helping people out; he can sometimes be found around vehicons and other drones, helping with whatever menial labors their doing and chatting them up. Sometimes he likes to paint things on them to help tell them apart. He’s one of the few mechs, if there are any, who can handle gross, squishy, human gore (he doesn’t enjoy it, but can stomach it) and loves horror movies, black/dark comedies especially. No one gives him the remote at movie night, anymore; not after the Zombieland incident. He also enjoys slapstick and likes most comedies in general.

Don’t think I forgot about the train beebs. I just chose not to actually put in effort into redesigning them. But I’ve been working on them.
Trackside - High Rail - Injector
Currently having trouble with the other two and I still have to add some distinctions between the Trackside & High Rail and Switchman and Rail Grinder.
And maybe another thing that is sort of on the table, but not something I fully sold on.

Of course Technis isn’t the only one getting an upgrade. This is Trackside (left) and High Rail (right) from the Astroforce. They’re all getting “Canon” upgrades, but I’m pretty sure these two will be the most drastic in terms of changes.

What better way to kick off the new blog than with a new team-mom-bot?
My style has changed a lot and I just wanted to give Technis a proper go. For the ew comers, Technis is my oldest (living) OC and the one I have changed the most. This is, what, the forth design this year? Hopefully, it’s the last.
Designation: Technis
Nicknames: Tech, Mom, Mama T, Doc
Height: 42ft-54ft
Allegiance: Decepticon
Rank: CMO / The Mom Friend
Alt Mode: VTOL Aircraft
Personality
Technis is known for being quick-witted and something of a nag. She is very strict when it comes to her job as a medic and, while not and overtly violent person, she’s not above getting physical with some of her allies as she reasons that’s just what most of them are used to. She’d never go so far as to hit or abuse them, but will lift them up or pin them down if she feels they’re being stubborn, using techniques reminiscent of earth wrestling. Otherwise, she sticks mostly to making biting comments at some of their lack of sense or tact. She can be surprisingly understanding and caring when the situation calls for it, surprising those who are used to her usual sharp tongue and intense glare.
When off the clock, she busies herself with various personal projects or conversing with other medics from other bases, either sharing information and providing each other with equipment and assistance or simply gossiping. She also enjoys going out for a drink or two and spending time with her conjux, Mercy.
She switches between focusing intently on whatever project has her attention, to doing multiple projects at once. He can lose track of time easily, luckily Mercy is often around to snap her back to reality. Her work space is noticeably disorganized and littered with various datapads filled with scirbbles and what look like words, but no one is really sure.
She seems to have a habit of taking younger mechs under her wing, a trait she fully blames on her care-taker, KC, who found and raised her when she was young. She has a strong sense of morality, which she also claims came from him. Despite the risks to her job and reputation, she assisted the growing deception movement with medicines and medical help when they couldn’t otherwise receive it.
 History
As a sparkling, Technis was found abandoned by KC, who promptly took her in and raised her along with various other mechs that worked with him. KC taught Technis the meaning of morality and justice, but also how to “stick it to the man” and take no nonsense from anyone, a trait that followed her through to adulthood. KC worked for a medical institution as its main groundskeeper and arranged for Technis to attend (just how, he refuses to say).
Growing up, KC’s influence never left her (and neither did he) and she constantly found herself at odds with both her teachers and eventual employers. KC recalls at one point she had knocked over an entire can of paint simply because she didn’t want to be painted red like all of the other good little medics. Though she did calm down since, she still hasn’t fully grown out of her old habits of letting no one get in the way of her morals.
After graduating, she was sent off to a mining colony, but was quick to return to Cybertron as she was found giving unauthorized help to several miners. She took up shop as a teacher and remained close to KC, who introduced her to a new colleague of his Mercy. Mercy, in turn, introduced her to Atlas, who would eventually bring home Gizmo, a fellow mech that was found on an asteroid, completing her roster of closest friend.
Once the Decepticon movement began, Technis once again found herself offering assistance and medical supplies illegally, costing her bother her job and reputation. Atlas offered her a place as his personal medic on board his ship. When the planet looked to be in more dire straits than anticipated, Technis and her friends agreed to stay out of the war proper and set up a neutral colony off planet. Mercy and KC stayed on Cybertron, helping those who wanted nothing to do with Autobots or Decepticons, while Technis, Atlas and Gizmo brought them off planet. One routine trip to pick up more refugees ended in disaster as their ship was destroyed in an accident, separating all those on board. Technis was able to save Gizmo and Atlas, but, left with no other option, sought assistance from a nearby Decepticon vessel, eventually joining their side.
Gizmo and Atlas stayed with her for a long while, but proved unable to handle it and had to be sent away. They returned to the neutral colony, leaving Technis to return to Cybertron on her own. Eventually she reunited with Mercy, who also joined, but C was nowhere to be found.
 Relationships
Mercy – Mercy is Technis conjux and one of her oldest and closest friends. The two share a playful relationship and often tease each other for simple things. While Technis is usually seen wearing her emotions on her metaphorical sleeves, Mercy seems considerably more subdued. However, she is also very petty and any misdeeds done to herself or Technis are usually met with some form of revenge, always in proportion to the offence. Technis is usually aware of this, though Mercy always denies it when asked. Mercy works as Technis’ partner, offering psychiatric help in tandem with whatever medical advice Technis offered to patients.
Atlas – Another close friend, Atlas is a much younger mech who made maps for Cybertron. He considers and friend of Mercy’s a friend of his and offered her a place as his personal medic when she lost her job. He enjoys her company and she is usually the first person he comes to with any sort of problem.
Gizmo – An odd alien with a suspiciously Cybertronian-like body, but was quite clearly not made on or by Cybertron. Technis performed many experiments on them, concluding that they were meant to be used as some sort of weapon. She took them under her wing and cared for them while also working on fixing the bugs and glitches apparent in their body and systems. Like Atlas, Gizmo will often go to Technis for help and treats her very much as a parental figure.
Shockwave – Her direct commander, Technis works at his base as CMO. She was called their by him to assist with the recently awakened Decepticon high command and has since stayed to offer help. The two share a mutual respect for each other and the sciences and will confer with each other on personal project.
The Astroforce - These are a group of earth-made trains turned Decepticons after a brief “takeover” but Astrotrain and Blitzwing. Technis takes care of their education, discipline and wellbeing. Of the 5, Switchman spends the most amount of time in the med bay as her assistant. He quite clearly wants to learn to be a real doctor, but has yet to say it.
Astrotrain – By extension, Technis keeps in close contact with Astrotrain on matters pertaining to the Astroforce. Given he’s not exactly A+ parent material, there is much nagging on Technis’ end and constant reminders of each other Force’s needs.
Other Deception Medics – Technis often confers with the other medics within the Decepticon rank on a variety of topics. She shares particularly close relationships with Hook, Flatline and Knockout and Breakdown as well as another, currently unnamed medic (seen in Devil’s Due) with whom she shares medical responsibility with at the base.
  Extra Notes
-      Near the tail end of the war, Technis eventually leaves the Deceptions after a dispute with high command and returns to the neutral colony with Mercy, where they have a daughter named of Freefall.
-      She kept in contact with Atlas and Gizmo after separating and often sent them gifts. They would occasionally visit.
-      The accident that led to her joining the Decepticons is what also took her eye. She is completely blind on the left (her right) side of her face. He visor acts as a replacement optic. It lacks some of the function of a regular optic, but can analyze other Cybertronians with several scanning option.
-      She has four total thrusters (two on her wings; two as her heels). They’re all very powerful, but she typically only uses one set at a time as they take up a lot of fuel. She only ever uses all four in cases of emergencies.
-      There is a noticeable false tooth no the side of her face. This is actually a special data chip containing information on her most private and personal project. No one, not even Mercy, knows this and many assume it was the result of some accident.
