Thank you for rebloging my post, but I’m not really sure if “I’m mad cus you right” is a good thing to say here. Though this blog is for fun and a healthy coping mechanism, BPD is a serious disorder and shouldn’t be treated as a joke.

Guidelines/Rules
1) Please make sure in your requests to be clear who the character is and what their source is. Maybe even give a brief explanation as to why you headcanon them to have BPD (Optional)!
2) Any kind of character is okay to enter but please be aware that the violent and mean personality stereotype for those with BPD should not be the only bases of your headcanon. BPD is a very broad disorder with lots of different symptoms. So please be mindful of such.
Symptoms of BPD include but are not limited to (Cause I might forget them)
-Erratic mood swings that can last for an hour to a day. BPD is actually quite similar to Bipolar disorder but one of the main differences is that the mood swings last for a much shorter period of time. These mood swings can get so bad that it can cause the person with BPD to feel like they have different versions of their personality.
-Feelings of being worthless and unwanted/loved. Those with BPD can be tormented with the fear and thoughts of being unwanted or not good enough for their friends and family. It’s a suffocating feeling that can be so intense that you rather hide than face anyone. Sometimes it feels like even if they say they like you one comment or one differing opinion and you feel like garbage for a whole day. Also, the fear of being left by everyone or being alone is a strong one that can weigh on your mind.
-Violent anger and impulsivity. This is normally where the “people with BPD are angry, mean, and violent” stereotype comes from. BPD can cause you to be impulsive it can also cause strings of intense and violent anger. This uncontrollable rage doesn’t even need to have a reason you could just wake up in a rage that lasts half the day till you’re emotionally exhausted. The worst thing about these angers is that when even the most minor inconviniance happens it only makes you more angry. Dropped your pencil on the ground? You get so mad you end up snapping it in half. A pop up ad interupts what youre doing?  If you aren’t careful you fist will go through the computer monter. In a lot of cases these angers can also cause you to be self awear that you have no reason to be mad and you end up spiraling into self anger and self hatred. Only able to scream and cry and pull at your hair till your head hurts.
-Ustable social relationships. I personally do not suffer from this symptom or at least not enough to notice it. Because of this I am not as familiar with the symptoms. The main one that people talk about is switching. Which is where you switch between loving and hating someone. It’s described to be at random points in the relationship and the way my friend talks about it is like going from wanting to be someones best friend to wanting to bitch about them constantly.

Hello everyone! I’m Duck and I’m here to tell you that your favorite character has BPD! What’s BPD you might be asking? BPD is short for Borderline Personality Disorder. Don’t be deceived by the name it actually has nothing to do with the word ‘borderline’.
Google describes BPD as “A mental disorder characterized by unstable moods, behavior, and relationships.“
“The cause of borderline personality disorder isn't well understood. Diagnosis is made based on symptoms. Symptoms include emotional instability, feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, impulsivity, and impaired social relationships. Treatments include talk therapy or, in some cases, medications. Hospitalization helps if symptoms are severe.“
BPD can legally only be diagnosed to those over the age of 18 but don’t worry I will not force that restriction on this blog. As someone recently diagnosed with BPD and having dealt with the symptoms since I was a child, I know how it isn’t very fun at all. But sometimes something as silly as looking into the personalities of your favorite characters and seeing yourself, and your own issues and feelings helps you feel just a little better and a little bit more valid. That’s how it feels for me and I hope everyone else will see this blog the same way! Anyone can make suggestions for characters to be on this blog whether you have BPD or not! Just make sure you read the guidelines by looking in the #guidlines tag on the blog.
This is the BPD flag I made for this blog:
Tumblr media
It’s meant to represent the instability of emotions that is a major symptom of BPD.
Bright red stands for the violent rage that can sometimes seem uncontrollable and without good reason. It’s very hard to deal with and normally makes people around you upset or uncomfortable.
Bright blue is for the random bursts of calm or excitement that seem to also come out of nowhere. The good emotions that just are there but can also be lost easily.
The dark deep blue in the middle stands for the empty feeling that you can sometimes get. That feeling of being worthless and hated even when you're not. It can be overwhelming just like all the other emotions BPD comes with.
The middle red and middle blue are to represent how easy it is to have your emotions switch on you out of nowhere seemingly at random.
The warm and cold colors together and the way they clash also give the flag a feeling of unease and can very easily represent the anxiety and depression that can normally come with BPD.
