(hey guys, I'm trying my hand at an interactive story. If you want in on the fun, follow @ihearstatic and maybe leave an ask. Thanks!)

Hi guys, I'm Kayla. I don't usually do this sort of thing, but I need to vent without people thinking I'm nuts.
See, I live with my wife and her younger sibling (temporarily) in a small apartment next to a supermarket everyone knows the name of on a very, very busy road. Luckily my specific apartment is one of the ones furthest from the road, so cars don't keep me up. In fact, other than the occasional neighbors talking or dog barking, things are pretty quiet. Especially with the quarantine happening.
Now, I usually have to break quarantine due to being an "essential worker. " However, the factory I work at had shut down for a week for some remodeling. That's a whole week I've spent at the house doing absolutely. Fucking. Nothing.
So here's when stuff starts getting weird. A few days into my little vacation, I started hearing this weird noise outside. You know when you turn on the radio out in the boonies and can't even find an iota of a signal? That's what this sounds like. Sharp, constant static.
It started off quiet at first. I had thought it was just a neighbor who might have accidentally left their radio on. But with each night, it has progressively gotten louder and I only seem to hear it when I'm alone. It's definitely coming from outside because I can hear it best when I open our bedroom window.
I've tried casually bringing it up to both my wife and her sibling, but neither of them seem to have heard anything. Does anyone know what this sound could be? It's starting to kinda freak me out.
youtubers, influencers, celebrities, and other general leeches on society: oh my God, isn’t quarantine the WORST? I know y’all aren’t doing anything during quarantine!!
The next time someone tells you fanfiction doesn’t have value
Just remember that during the midst of a pandemic, where everyone is scrambling for money, a site that hosts that fanfiction for free and on a voluntary basis, managed to hit their $130 000 goal within less than 24 hours.
STORIES ARE AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE. WRITERS ARE ESSENTIAL WORKERS.
