Blue hair. Or Purple hair. Long, flowy dresses - preferably in cool tones with strategic slits near the arms that make it look like you have wings. Big, thick lashes and thick eyeliner (can be blue, adds to it). Tattoo near the eye - if not real then sticker ones are available eg those from Lady Gaga. Dark lipstick, heavy gloss. Henna tattoos with silver hand accessories. Long, black nails.
i dont want to look “pretty” i want to look otherworldly and vaguely threatening

I was re-reading Goblet of Fire when something crossed my mind.
During the graveyard scene, Voldemort pressed the Dark Mark on Wormtail to summon his Death Eaters. Now, the Death Eaters didn't know whether Voldemort was even alive or not, let alone where he would be, beforehand. That means, when they felt the Mark burn, they also somehow knew where to apparate to.
Snape also felt the Mark burn at the time, as he told Fudge during the scene at the hospital wing. He felt the Mark burn, he must have known what it meant, his Mark had been getting darker all year - he had discussed this with Dumbledore. He felt his Mark burn, so he must also have known where to apparate to. So, WHY DIDN'T HE TELL DUMBLEDORE AT THE EXACT TIME HIS MARK BURNT? He could have told him that this is the place where the Mark is indicating to go, that means this would be the place where Voldemort probably is. Even if he didn't know the significance, Dumbledore would have. He already suspected Horcruxes, and he was smart enough to be able to connect some, if not all, of the dots. Or at least make an educated guess. May be, they could have apparated there, along with Fudge. Or maybe at least Fudge could have seen Voldemort with his own eyes a year earlier. Or enough evidence of his existence, if Voldemort and party somehow got the wind that they were coming and disapparated before they arrived.
So my question is, why did Snape not tell Dumbledore where his mark was burning from? Or did he tell him, but Dumbledore chose to ignore him? Somehow, with all his faults, i don't think Dumbledore would have ignored it like that. Even if he had plans for Voldy's death that required certain *ahem* sacrifices, there would be no harm done if Fudge knew of Voldy's rise to power a year earlier. That was what he was trying to convince Fudge of in the last few scenes of the book, wasn't he? Then he wouldn't have wilfully ignored such a tasty treat to show Fudge and start his anti-Voldemort regime with full force.
That forces me to conclude that Snape didn't tell Dumbledore about where his Mark was calling him. And I just can't answer why.

I'd much rather be my own version of Voldemort than someone else's version of Harry Potter.

It's official. This is my first post of 2020, and I am using it to mark my own stupidity. Congratulations, dumbass, you lost a once in a lifetime opportunity. Remember this, and remember to work on something better. Please, I beg of you.

I may have lost an opportunity of a lifetime because of my own stupidity and naïvety. Mark the date, PluviamIgnis, 31 Dec 2019 - this is the day you realize that if you want something done, do it yourself. Also, ask that someone for help who you trust, and who you know has the means and will to help you.

I'm just gonna say it.
Marvel uses extensive and good CGI, actors we love, and emotional scenes and plot devices to sell subpar plotlines. And we buy it.

Every day you’ve dealt with your terrible stepmother and your equally terrible and ugly stepsisters as you’ve done your chores. One day, an invitation to the prince’s ball comes to your late father’s estate. After your late mother’s dress is destroyed, you find an elderly woman in front of you. She waves her wand through the air and suddenly a blue ball gown with glass slippers appear on the bench next to you. She claims you can go to the ball for only a small price. You have to kill the prince.

The trope of changing a character arc without any reasonable explanation and without even telling the actor playing that particular character just for the shock value is honestly disgusting.
Take Daenerys for example. Emilia Clarke had no idea what was going to happen in the last season before they got the script. And even she said she was shocked. She had played Daenerys as a survivor in the last seven years - a victim of horrid circumstances who did what she had to do to survive and take what she thought rightfully belonged to her. And that is also what the audience saw her as - mainly because of Emilia's portrayal.
Now, if they had maintained from the start that they want Dany to become the Mad Queen at the end, logically it would make sense for Dany to have certain nuances all throughout the show, the will she won't she factor, that is the uncertainty for the audience that whether Dany will give in to the madness or rise above it. What will she do? These kind of questions would keep the viewer interested till the end. And maybe the ending wouldn't have felt forced in that case.
But they didn't do that, and even though Emilia's acting was fantastic in the last season, it was obvious that she had to change the way she portrayed Daenerys. Which the viewers caught on, obviously. And that is what left so many people dissatisfied with her story.
Take Professor Severus Snape. Rowling had told Alan Rickman (RIP) right at the start how Snape's story was going to play out. Thus, Rickman played Snape with a certain, mysteriousness, around him. Even the directors and the script writers didn't know. So what happened when the final reveal came? Everyone was shocked, yes. But also satisfied. They started finding certain things in the scenes involving Snape that they couldn't explain before or just charted to him being a nasty jerk. It happened both in the books and the movies, just tiny little things.
Now I know, the HP directors had all the material and Rowling worked with them, and DnD didn't have that kind of privilege. So they had to improvise, and at some point people started saying they were just making stuff up now. It would have been better with Martin's material, but they still didn't have to butcher the characters for shock value.
So in short, completely destroying a character's whole development just for the sake of some kind of shock factor is lazy direction, imo.
