I loved both of your new updates, with the Hobbit characters and Fellowship reacting to you calling them pretty. How do you imagine the elves replying when you call them pretty? Such as Lindir, Arwen, Haldir, Elrond and Figwit?
Lindir and Figwit are one and the same, that’s why there's only one :) here’s how I think it would go:
The Elves’ Reaction to You Calling Them Pretty
Gets sappy: Arwen, Lindir, Legolas
Shock: Elrond, Haldir, Feren
No you: Galadriel, Thranduil
Slowly, widely grinning, Arwen’s gaze falls from yours slightly, only to slide back. “You flatter me,” she says, voice lowering to a near-whisper as she steps closer, “especially for one who knows my heart is in your hands.” Flustered is the only word you could use to describe the look that crosses Lindir’s face, especially as you reach over to tuck a strand of his long dark hair behind his ear. A smile creeps across it, oh yes, but what can he do besides respond that no word that he knows can begin his description, no song he could write, would do you justice half as proper as he should like. Legolas bursts into a big, bashful smile before you even finish your sentence, reaching to take your hand and hold it against his chest. At first he says nothing, his dark eyes simply swimming in yours before he speaks. "I know not what I did to deserve such a love as you have given me, but I hope I do it again and again."
Taken aback, Elrond nearly leans away from your touch before seemingly thinking better of it, pale skin of his cheek resuming contact with your palm and bringing a rush of warmth with it. "You see beauty in the strangest of places," he chuckles, "in all things and every face you look upon. If only all of Middle-Earth could see as you do." And with that, his lips are on yours. Haldir tilts his head in- confusion? before his eyes are searching the gaze upon them, finding nothing but sincerity swimming in the beautiful color of your eyes. A smile breaks across his face, small but deeply affectionate, as he shakes his golden head. "I know not what to say beyond thanking the Valar for the gift of your love." You almost burst into a laugh at the way Feren's big brown eyes widen, turning like saucers as if you'd shifted to some unheard tongue mid-sentence. "Yes, you," you reiterate, reaching up to caress his face, the gorgeous arch of his cheekbone, "do I not make it apparent enough all the beauty I see in you?" Flushing, Feren simply shakes his head and leans into your touch before thinking better of it, turning instead to take your hand and press a kiss to the back of it. "Not at all. I was simply thinking of all the ways I should be returning the favor."
Amusement plays upon Galadriel's lips, loving glow overtaking her at your compliment, tinging her cheeks and glittering in her fair blue eyes. “Would that you could see through my eyes, meleth nîn,” she chuckles, reaching up to trace a pale hand along your hair, down the rise of your cheekbone, and to gently brush your lips with her thumb. Each motion a silent affirmation that has your heart singing as you grant her the kiss she asks for. “Well, aren’t you charming?” Thranduil teases, but all you can see in his eyes is pure, brimming love. “These are not your words, love, but mine.” His smile is wide, welcoming as the arms that pull you against the king’s back, elegant lips pecking your neck, then your cheek. “Your sincerity is a gift to this world, though. You say what you think whether it is what I wish or not. I suppose we can say I got lucky this time, did I not? As I do every day I have you by my side.”

Galadriel definitely pulls the "I'm older than the sun and the moon" card and everyone else hates it.
Elrond loves to pull the "In some sense the sun and the moon are my distant cousins" back at her and it sends everyone younger than him into a state of shock every time, they hate it.
Celeborn would pull the "My great uncle was the king" card if it wouldn't make people realize he could be in line for the throne. He's seen the amount of work Galadriel and Elrond put into not having to be queen or king and he isn't risking it. He's staying out of this.
Cirdan is older than all of them, but just wants to go to Valinor so he stays out of their way. He also has the "older than the sun and moon" card, but he also has the "I'm only here cause I'm loyal" card, no one knows who he's loyal to anymore so it worries them greatly when he pulls that card out.
Gandalf tries to hide his cards behind a smoke screen, but the previous four already know what his cards are. It's not hard to figure out, he declared all of his intentions upfront when he got to these shores.
Saruman has his cards up his sleeves and lies about everything. No one believes him anymore except Gandalf.

My Humble Opinion: Nicola Coughlan is hands-down the prettiest of the main actresses on Bridgerton.
Tumblr media
My New Obsession: I would really love to see her as young Celebrian matched up with Robert Aramayo's young Elrond.
Tumblr media
I've often seen Celebrian being imagined by her fans as a shorter and curvier-figured elf, which I also love, so this fancast doesn't seem off-base.
But it's okay if no one agrees with me. This has become a vividly clear thing in my head now. Young Elrond and Young Celebrian are meeting and falling in love in the Second Age and it's so pure and beautiful. I'm inspired.
I may have also just seen the trailer for Bridgerton S3 and I'm vibrating with excitement for the Polin storyline.

Elrond had a strange dream. In the dream, there were Maitimo and Elros, as well as Makalaurë, who wandered through many ages before finally returning to Valinor. Elrond was overjoyed, confident in his healing skills despite his foster father appearing broken and mentally unstable. As long as everyone was together, there were no obstacles they couldn't overcome. Makalaurë in the wheelchair suddenly seemed to recall something, his scattered gaze gradually focusing on the child before him.
"Elrond."
Elrond nodded eagerly, "It's me! Atar, do you remember me?"
"How could I forget you, my little star," Makalaurë said. "I have a secret to tell you."
Elrond longed to climb onto his foster father’s lap like he did as a child, resting his head in his embrace. Strangely, as the thought crossed his mind, his body slowly shrank until he resembled his six-year-old self. Makalaurë reached out to him, and Elrond immediately threw himself into the long-awaited, familiar embrace.
For a while, no one spoke; the poet's slender fingers gently stroked the child's head. Birds chirped cheerfully, and golden and silver light filtered through the branches, bathing them.
When was the last time I hugged Atar? Little Elrond wondered. It was the day Maitimo sent us away! Then everything happened too fast; Elros and I didn't have time to decide, and we lost so much forever.
But fortunately, they were all back now.
"What secret do you want to tell me?" Elrond asked, looking up.
"It's about the Second Music," Makalaurë said.
A strange sensation... The light seemed to change, and he felt his eyelids trembling slightly.
"The Second Music?"
"Yes. During my wanderings, I glimpsed fragments of it. It's beautiful and serene, just like the early days of Valinor, before everything. But there is no sorrow.
"We will reunite in a better place. Do you understand, my little star? One day, you will see that we are all waiting for you."
"Why don't we go together?" Elrond asked nervously, noticing that Makalaurë was still wearing the same robe they wore on the day they parted, with a string of jewels shining on his head.
Makalaurë held him close, tears streaming from his eyes.
Elrond heard many, many voices saying to him:
"Dear Elrond, see you in the Second Singing!"

do you ever think about how fucked up some (most) family trees are in the silm (and lotr especially since it's a remnant) like.
finarfin is celeborn's father in law, and elladan, elrohir, and arwen's great-grandfather. the twins who do nothing all day but hunt orcs endangering the royal family (you go kids! die young and/or lose a hand and/or get tortured by orcs and/or by your own kin and/or), can claim that fëanor is their great-great-uncle or something? and wouldn't he be PROUD, and wouldn't he remember that their grandfather is eärendil, and how he's also, somehow, in addition to great-great-uncle, their adopted great-grandfather through his sons?
like. I don't think someone else but elladan, elrohir, and arwen could claim that family tree. fëanor, fingolfin, and finarfin, by either adoption or blood, or both.
and it only gets worse with aragorn and arwen's children, I mean, but I refuse to fry my brain further

Some more thoughts on the idea that Elrond gets more eldritch as he ages. I'm gonna make another post about this that's more fun Eldritch Peredhel stuff but I felt the need to address some of the implications of this headcanon first.
Like I said, Elrond changes slowly, and most elves don't notice at first. When they do, though, things get interesting.
See, Elrond looks increasingly like Luthien over time. As a child, he had similar facial features, but didn't really resemble her otherwise. But when his hair starts to darken and his eyes turn gray, it becomes clear that he's almost an exact replica of Doriath's princess.
The Sindar find this amazing and wonderful– for a lot of them, their feelings of grief over the loss of Doriath are very connected to the loss of Luthien and Melian (who kept Doriath safe), and "having Luthien back" is great. Of course, this puts Elrond in a very strange position. On one hand, it's nice for him to have elves who encourage him to push the limits of his Ainuric power and tell him stories about his mother's family, who he knows so little about. On the other hand, he can't deny it's a little unsettling sometimes, the way that people can stare right at him and see someone else. He also doesn't like how... possessive some of them seem of him, expecting him to act like his ancestors, even though he's his own person.
It's a little more complicated for the Noldor. Some of them find Elrond's increasingly obvious powers creepy– they're a lot more inclined to be distrustful of the Ainur. But it's worth noting that for all Elrond looks like Luthien, his gray eyes and dark hair also make him look very Noldor, a lot more than he did as a child. And while some of the Noldor are uneasy about Elrond, lots of them see him as one of the finest jewels of the Finwean family– a healer who's dedication to his craft is almost unmatched. They can also be a little bit weird about seeing his ancestors when they look at him, or about expecting him to dress, act, and present himself in a certain way. Especially the old Feanorians, who care deeply about Elrond but do not always express that care in normal ways.
Gil-Galad is a huge help here– he's older than Elrond, but was too young to have any memories of most of the people the other elves compare Elrond to. And he has a very low tolerance for people making his herald uncomfortable. Sometimes he enlists Galadriel and Celeborn (who cared about Elrond for who he was long before he started looking like Luthien) to deal with particularly stubborn elves.

A little headcanon that Elrond identified more as a Feanorian and a son/ward of Maglor. In the current events of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, Elrond wears the feanorian star as a pendant, but under his clothes. He also has an old circlet dating back to the Years of the tree that was given to him by Maedhros, the center piece was a feanorian star with a red gem in the center.

Elrond: I'm sorry, but I cannot see you keep living like this. You don't want eat, and most of the time you don't; you don't want to sleep, but sometimes it feels like the only thing you are doing is sleeping; you don't want to drink, except sometimes massive amounts of alcohol. I'm very concerned. Maglor says I can't help you, but surely, there's something I can do to help. How do you even live like this, I mean surely your body needs some food, sleep and water to sustain itself?
Maedhros: I'm not living. Not anymore.
