Cover art by @anyaboz Hearthbound is a 10-episode musical audio drama and a queer reimagining of the Odyssey. Ride with us through the ridges and the ruins of the Great Basin, as we follow Odessa in a scrappy old van, rattling along the Loneliest Road in America back to Penelope.
Embracing the spirit of hopepunk and found family, Hearthbound explores what it means to return to a place different from when you left it and whether it's worth returning at all. We've got campfire songs and sea shanties and highly specific bird call cues.
We're pretty sure you'll like this if you like Vienna Teng, Station Eleven, Kentucky Route Zero, or hot butches. If this sounds like your jam, you can sign up for our newsletter on our website to get the latest on a premiere date!

semi-new to Simblr, lol.
the title is a bit of a lie, but, LET ME EXPLAIN.
hi, I'm Solita Sims. I am a Sims 4 content creator and have been a Sims 4 content creator for almost two years now. I am mostly known for my unhinged, chaotic storytelling TikTok / TikTok & YouTube content. I have a FEW series which you may or may not have seen before...

DE VAUSE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diandra and Monroe de Vause are high school sweethearts that share a turbulent, chaotic life with one another in Brindleton Bay, along with 5 children: Regina, Naomi, Odessa, Somer, & Kai. After a traumatic event happens to their second daughter Naomi, causing her to dabble in poor habits & decision making, a family secret is unveiled, causing a rift between the matriarch and patriarch that they may never be able to come back from.
Unfortunately, as of today, November 11, this series has been retired. Though the episodes will always be available and I do plan on sharing their story in other ways in the future. Feel free to read my explanation as to why here, here, or here.

LEGACY CHALLENGE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TW: mention of drug use & miscarriage
My first ever Sims 4 Legacy challenge stars the Volkovs (generation 1 & 2) and the Kealohas (generation 2 & 3). We first started the series following our Founder Alexis Dionne Ketter turned Alexis Dionne Volkov as she paraded around San Myshuno looking for any daddy to give her woohoo or money. She found several - Roy D. Dillon, Tai Lum, Bjorn Bjersen, and Wolfgang Wilder - before eventually falling in love with her enemy, Kristopher Volkov, and starting a life with him in Moonwood Mill. Together, they share six children: Ezra, Autumn (our Heir), Nicole, Edward, Clint, and Renesmee.
Alexis is now an Elder, her dust era slowly approaching, and we have still been focusing on her as well as her daughter and our Heir, Autumn Priscilla Volkov turned Autumn Priscilla Kealoha. Autumn is currently an Adult, married to her Spellcaster childhood best friend Shanna Kealoha, and the two little lesbians recently welcomed their first {living} child, Sage Kealoha, into the world. But Autumn hadn't always had such a picture-perfect life; she struggled with severe drug addiction in her teen years and early Young Adult years after the sudden death of her big brother, Jacob Volkov, broke the heart of her former friend & lover Addison Chopra, had a rough battle with infertility, and miscarried her first son, River Kealoha. We will see what's in store for Autumn and her little family as they explore parenthood, the world of Spellcasting, and move away from Moonwood Mill.

NOT SO BERRY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My first ever Sims 4 Not So Berry challenge follows our Founder, Gwyneth Westwood of Windenburg, and her family; fiancé Joseph Bastianich, daughter and Heir Rosalie Bastianich, and half-human-half-alien daughter Bella Westwood-Stallings.
Gwyneth has a passion for science, logic, mischief, collecting elements, and romance. All she's ever wanted, besides succeeding as a WOC in her career field, is to be in love and have a baby. She eventually gets her wish, becoming engaged to her good friend, celebrity chef Joseph Bastianich, and having his baby and our Heir, Rosalie Bastianich. Though things get messy after a traumatic life event causes Joseph to become entangled with alcoholism.
Fast forward in the future, Gwyneth has stuck by Joseph and had a second daughter, Bella Westwood-Stallings, after getting abducted by Senior Pollinator Technician #3, or Tanisha Stallings, in the backyard of her home. Her life almost seems picture perfect as Joseph recovers from alcoholism, Rosalie blossoms into a teenager, and Tanisha becomes her good friend and a good mother to their daughter Bella. Little does she know about the secret Joseph is hiding from her and Rosalie.

NIKKI & AKIRA (occult)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The story of Nikki St. Germain & Akira Kibo was never meant to be a series, but their antics are so comical and ridiculous - especially since Nikki is my Simself - that I had to turn it into one.
Nikki simply went on a blind date, not expecting much from it, and happened to get paired with Akira Kibo - yes, the Akira Kibo - of San Myshuno. Things did not go well after Akira didn't flirt back with Nikki. She went home after, never expecting to see Akira Kibo again. It turns out that Nikki was deeply mistaken and had no idea what her future held for the two of them.
Akira asked for Nikki's forgiveness and the two began dating again, leading to an official relationship, until Akira cheated and contracted a WTD and almost gave it to Nikki. As revenge, Nikki broke up with him and turned him into Vampire, hoping he would fry in the sun. Little did she know that Akira would turn into one of the most powerful Vampires in the Simnation, win her heart over again, impregnate her with their daughter Beverly, and make their lives a living Hell.
I have not posted a Nikki & Akira episode since earlier this year, but I am highly considering bringing it back weekly or bi-weekly since the de Vause series is now retired.

Besides those four series of mine, I also create chaotic and silly TikToks, mod showcases, Sims-related tutorials + tips + tricks, Sims photoshoots, & report Sims-related news. All of my series - besides Nikki & Akira - are partially in fullscreen mode on my YouTube channel, as well as Sims-related tutorials. I plan on making a Sims 4 YouTube Let's Play series starting early 2024 and a Minecraft YouTube Let's Play series hopefully sooner. I am very active on Twitter as well, and regularly post updates, sneak peeks + spoilers, polls, photo shoots, etc. about the Legacy & Not So Berry challenge.

Some more fun facts about me: I'm 22, a Scorpio, live in Greater Los Angeles, have been playing the Sims on-and-off since 2009, became a Sims 4 content creator in December 2021, love the colors blood red & dark green, love Lana Del Rey & Amy Winehouse & Fiona Apple & Mitski & Aaliyah & Lauryn Hill, hate labor, love to complain (this is a joke), enjoy wine & writing & reading & coffee, and also play Minecraft, Roblox, & GTAV, and love wreaking havoc on my Sims.
-
the best way to keep up with me is on Twitter or the YouTube Community, but all of my socials are here.

I'm looking forward to those on Simblr getting to know me & my creations.

Overwatch Headcanons (based on the canon lore and several in-game events and things) that I really want to be true.
A lot of it is Junkers, sorry.
~~~~~
☆ Ever since April Fools, I love the thought that Roadhog watches 'mom shows.' (Oprah, Bachelor, Bachelorette, etc.) I also love to think he gets really into it, like he's dead silent and perfectly focused on the episode or he'll mutter stuff under his breath during The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Like, "... how dare that sludge talk like that..." or "... you go girl, tell him off..."
☆ Cassidy: WHY DO YOU KEEP LOSIN YOUR KEYS, DANG NABBIT?!
Tracer: Why do you sound like a prospector when you're angry, cad flabbit?
☆ Hanzo snorts when he laughs too hard... thats it. But he'll deny it if someone hears it. Hard deny.
☆ Junkrat is the equivalent of that one guy in Ratatouille ("I killed a man, with this thumb." Can't remember his name for the life of me.) when anyone asks what happened to his finger. From 'Extreme Thumb Wrestling Gone Wrong' to the simple one answer that is 'Koalas.' No one truly knows what happened to his finger.
☆ Odessa doesn't know how to write. (Junkertown Education System.) But she does know how to draw just a bit. So when doing autographs, she doodles a tiny version of her. With little stars.
☆ Speaking of Junkertown and Australia in Overwatch, the place is basically like Mad Max and Fallout had a baby. Even Junkrat sees the difference between normal dirt and radioactive dirt. And thats just facts. If you look at the Junkertown map, you'll understand what I mean.
☆ Sombra was an orphan, she hadn't felt a familial bond until Sigma. Come on, the man is like a science dad. He has that energy. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't see him as family. Sigma is the only (from my current research (not counting Doomfists 'jefe.' Jefe justs means boss.)) one that has a consistent nickname that translates (sorry if its wrong) to 'Old Man.'
☆ Moira knows how to dance every single anime dance... no no no, you don't understand. Every. Single. One. Will she ever show it? No. Definitely not.
☆ Tracer has adhd. Not because of her ability. That's a stupid reason. It's cause she just... seems like she does you know?
☆ Junkrat actually has a love of singing. As shown in the random chatter he has and the interactions with Lucio, Jamie likes to sing. Although, from when he's demonstrating to Lucio, it kinda seems like he's nervous. The "Sausage Roll and Batter Sav" tune he sings isn't bad. He's just a silly little guy.
☆ Speaking of my favorite silly guy, Junkrat is actually smarter than people give him credit for. He can keep a conversation with Sigma, he knows Xenos Paradox, he gets Winstons Periodoc Table joke, it's just that he expresses himself differently. I mean he was theoretically raised in the radioactive outback, you're gonna wind up a bit weird. I think he partly hides his genius so no one can take advantage of it.
☆ Opposite of Junkrat, Roadhog seemingly has made friends with a lot of others. They're more willing to talk to him than the rat man. I mean, come on, Mako gets along with D.Va, Ana, Junker Queen, Kiriko (i think), and Lucio. Maybe Mercy as well, but I couldn't figure it out. I have a feeling that Roadhog thought that no one would like him cause he's scary, but everyone on the team just sees him as a gentle giant (which he honestly is, have you seen his cute little interactions and the plethora of Pachimari things he has?)
☆ Mercy really cares about those around her. So much so, that she believes (if going by some of her chatter is anything) anyone can be saved. Even Widowmaker. I'm guessing from what she had done with Genji, she had proved to herself that she could save anyone.
hi hi!! can I request Junker queen with a fem s/o who’s going through a depressive episode?
yes B)
“C’mere.”
You stared at Odessa, who sat cross-legged on your bed. You examined her long legs, boxers, cropped shirt, strong arms that reached out for you and beckoned with wide hands. She had a small smile on her pierced lips that urged you to come closer.
You think she didn’t notice when you weren’t feeling like yourself? You’d be a fool to think so. That woman noticed every little thing about you and adored it, head to toe, brain to brawn (or, comparatively, lack thereof on the latter).
After a moment of staring, you climbed up onto the bed with her, immediately driven towards being sat upon her lap as her arms encircled you, warm and inviting. Perks of having an absolutely massive girlfriend; you fit in her lap perfectly, and neither of you would have it any other way.
“Now,” she said in her best quiet voice- not really much softer than her usual tone, but the thought behind it meant enough. “Who’s gonna tell me what’s goin’ on with ‘em so that I can do my job properly and take care of ‘em?”
You open your mouth to answer, but before you can, a nose is pressed against yours, forehead to forehead, and you can hear the smile in her voice.
“That’s right— you. C’mon, doll, spill your guts.”
That, in fact, was the kindest way she’d ever asked you to share your feelings. You were working on it.
“Feels stupid to say it’s just the depression again,” you grumble as you press your cheek against her shoulder.
“Ain’t stupid,” she interjects, “just is what it is. Don’t make it any less of a thing, y’know?”
A warm, broad hand ran back through your hair, gently untangling the slightly greasy strands where you had neglected to shower for a day or so longer than you probably should have. Your eyes shifted away, staring down at your hands in your lap as she carefully tended to your hair.
“Dollface, look at me. Up, up here.”
As you looked up at her, she gently traced your features with her fingertips. Her thumbs grazed the outline of your lips, scarred fingers traced your eyebrows and the bridge of your nose. The soft smile on her freckled face as she did so made you smile in turn, just a little, just enough for her to notice.
“Theeere she is,” she beamed as your smile broadened slightly with her enthusiasm, “there’s my girl.” She leaned down to press a quick kiss to your lips, then another, and another, then eventually was rapid-fire kissing your entire face from jaw to cheeks to forehead until you were a giggling mess in her arms.
“Aw. Lookit that. I missed that.” She smiles again, gapped teeth sending your heart fluttering.
And you start to feel just a little bit lighter.
I'm not feeling well and ranting about Tua S2 is my default so I thought I'd put some thought into what I'd change about the storylines for my own (personal) entertainment
Disclaimer I am not a writer, I just have opinions and this got way longer than I anticipated (especially the Viktor bit) so it's all under read more
Luther - I actually don't mind Luther's storyline too much, or what little he had going on anyway - it does make sense that he'd seek out another figure to fill the hole that his distrust in Reginald created, it makes sense that he is once again being used by that figure for their own gain, and it makes sense that he finally sticks it to Reginald in 2x06 - I just wish there was more of that and less of whatever the fuck they were doing with him and Allison (can they not just be friends please god) - I feel like expanding on his parental figure issues also just fits great with S3 and his confrontation with Reggie - and trying to trust someone who has betrayed him only to be stabbed (quite literally) in the back for trusting again
Diego - I'm just gonna be honest and say Diego should have spent longer in the 60s than a couple of months, maybe switching the dates Diego and Luther arrived, I don't know - a little more insight into how Lila got close to Diego in the asylum, and more time expanding on how therapy and his time in the 60s changed him, and expanding on the racism he endured in S2 not just with the asylum guards - it's something he and Allison talk about in S3 amd it's no doubt something they both grew up dealing with
Allison - again, very little Id change other than keeping it going for longer, it seems like after 2x06 racism stops existing in S2 (other than one mention) and so do all the characters Allison's interacted with at this point beyond Ray, obviously there's only so much you can fit into 10 45 minute episodes and the last three barely have any outside interactions beyond the commission but I still think even just one shot of Odessa, Ray and the others hearing about Allison being linked to JKFs death was warranted
Klaus - oh Klaus, I could go on for days about you - I am a firm Klaus joining an anti war movement truther, hell I even like the ghost cult theory that people had going on, I just feel like nobody really knew what to do with Klaus in S2 - and he was very much disjointed from the rest of the characters in the way that was obvious - yes he was in s1 and S3 (S3 again slightly more obvious with it than S1) but he was also connected to the main plot, S2 he was doing his own thing pretty much 99% of the season and it only served as more disconnect - I'm not saying he needed to be a main character, he wasn't in s1 and he still had things going on, I'm saying that it's at least expected that if everyone else is related to the plot by coincidence and what else, and Klaus is just there, why is Klaus there? What is he providing? S1, he had a hand in the apocalypse as much as everyone else, and it's sadly missing here.
Five - This is related to Diego too, but it fits more with the Five stuff. Drop the Handler stuff, just completely drop it. She didn't need to come back, have AJ take her place. And if you're gonna bring in the Commission then set them up firmly against Five (and by extension the other Hargreeves) for fucking with time - set it up that Five is dangerous and AJ knows it, that he's building an army (2x10) to try take Five down - his own adopted daughter (Lila) included, no deals, no bargains, AJ wants to destroy Five for even daring to try stop the apocalypse, and he's more ruthless than the Handler to get his way - and let Five get the satisfaction of killing him
Ben - I would say drop the possession stuff but that is plot relevant so maybe change it around to be on a more consensual sort of weird thing Klaus and Ben do - it could still be funny, with the siblings talking to Ben and Ben trying to act as Klaus (for whatever reason) and because Klaus is pretty much a strange character to his siblings already they don't question how wildly out of character he's acting ie "Because that is a thing, I, Klaus Hargreeves, do." "Uh? Sure buddy." / "I think I'm really nailing acting like you." Meanwhile the siblings side eyeing Ben acting as Klaus but they just don't know what the fuck is going on - and just for extra funsies (aka pain) have it established to Ben that he knows possessing Klaus (and by extension anyone else) is slowly destroying him but he wants to be a part of the family again, and he wants to experience life again so badly that he keeps going, and going, until he ends up passing on helping Viktor - and let that be part of the message with Klaus
Viktor - ohohoho where do I even begin? I think the only thing I will be leaving untouched is Sissy and Harlan, the rest? Gone. Personally I am not a fan of amnesia storylines, but Viktor needs to almost end the world somehow, right, and come to terms with his childhood trauma and the end of S1 somehow and doing it off screen hardly seems fair
I'm so glad you asked :) so Viktor, following have a gun go off by his ear and getting hit by a car goes deaf in one ear and it's affecting his powers obviously cause they're related to hearing at least somewhat - he's losing control, or can't make them work when he wants and he feels like the progress he made is thrown back as well as feeling conflicted and guilty for using them after what happened, after almost killing Allison - but still angry at his siblings for what they did and a lot of conflicting emotions also fuelling his powers being out of control
He's desperately trying to hide his powers (not the LGBTQ+ Merlin metaphor) from Sissy, Harlan and Carl and maintain the life he's created in the 60s but it's growing increasingly more difficult and only adding to his stress
So when he sees Luther again, he's obviously feeling a lot - happy to see someone he knows, anger, pained, guilty, confused - maybe even feeling like an outcast again, assuming that they all knew where each other was this entire time and left him out again - and leaves before Luther can talk to him, the conflicting emotions and his powers make something happen in Sissy's house (idk maybe something breaks enough to scare Viktor into leaving before he thinks he'll hurt someone else) and bumping into the Swedes and meeting Five again, and this time they properly talk it out - Viktor seeing the hurt he caused Five during his years in the apocalypse, even if the events that led to the apocalypse weren't only his fault, he admits fault for his part in it, and Five, aptly says something like, "You were a cog in a machine, Viktor. If not you, it would've been someone else, the Commission made sure of that." And it's clear they've at least talked it out somewhat to be able to trust each other
The second Luther and Viktor reunion is still hard - Luther apologises like in canon, and Viktor is wary of his sincerity, pointing out the last time he trusted Luther he was locked in the basement - Luther admits that he has no reason to be trusted, but he'll prove it to Viktor if he can - and it's cautious predicament with the two of them from here on out, eventually Viktor and Luther both realising the positions they were manipulated into by Harold and Reginald (and Pogo) and their own actions respectively
The other reunions and slightly less tense - Diego and Viktor's being the most tense of the remaining three - but again, they both apologise - Diego's therapy and Viktor's own realisations with the apocalypse playing a part, and it's slightly cold but still forgiveness, Allison is still trying to deal with her own problems in the 60s along with pushing down any of the negative feelings she has about what happened in S1 so it plays very much the same s1 to S3 wise but maybe Viktor is more wary of Allison's forgiveness, and Klaus is the one with the least stake in that plotline
So, okay, he's made up with the majority of the siblings, his emotions are under control, and his powers are more or less under control, how does he cause the end of the world? I'm still so glad you asked besties BC here's the plot twist he doesn't - in which I'll explain, so how does Ben still help Viktor and end up dying but it's nothing to do with the end of the world, and what about the apocalypse at the beginning of s2 - it's all been set up to look like Viktor will cause the apocalypse again in Five (and the audiences) eyes
So why does Ben help Viktor and end up passing on? Instead of running away with Sissy, Viktor tries to decide to stay in the 60s instead - it's not ideal but if he can't bring Sissy with him, then he'll stay, it's the obvious solution only Carl isn't happy with that - and the gun fight ensues - the gun going off throwing Viktor back to the theatre and into a flashback - one no one can reach him in - except Ben
And they still have their talk, and Viktor manages to find his own peace with what happened
So how does the world end? Well, the Commission being dickheads and AJ manipulating Lila for a reason bb with something like this going down between AJ and Five
"Today, tomorrow, next week, almost sixty years from now, it doesn't matter. It's all the same to me."
"Time matters, you can't erase all that time. It'll cause a paradox that could destroy the universe!" (Hello S3 hint) "Surely the rest of the Commission don't see it that way."
"The world was always doomed to end, and your pathetic attempt to save it only doomed it and your siblings faster. I'd almost congratulate you, Five, you managed to fail so incredibly that you made my own job easier."
They figure out the Commission are targeting the Federal building to make it look like an attack and start a nuclear war with Hazel's tape, and stop it from being blown up in time, but bad news - Harlan still has powers and AJ's army is ready and 2x10 plays out basically the same
And where is Reggie in all this? Keeping an eye on what's happening in the background - having his own people investigate the siblings and keeping note of their powers which will come bite them in S3 - he's not explicitly a part but he's definitely doing something in the background
And then, Sparrows.
you said in a previous ask that if s2 had built on s1 better than the show would have been better. have you ever posted what you think needed to be different in s2? if not would you be willing to?
Oof. So much. This is not like. a full plan of how I would've done s2 differently, but it's just some character things I would've done differently for the siblings. Don't take this too seriously, it's just me spitballing, and this isn't a full re-write, it should have more structure to be that.
But also, overall ground rules.
no amnesia
no romance
no paradox psychosis
no infinite switchboard
no Handler
Viktor does not cause the apocalypse. Diego does.
Let me elaborate by just going through the siblings and where I would've taken them to build on s1.
Luther & Viktor: Putting these two together because that's what I would've done. Keep them together. Luther was holding him going into the portal, I think it would've been really interesting to have these two end up together in the 60s. Viktor should've been unconscious when they arrived (for like. the first episode) because then Luther would have had to make the choice to either protect him or leave him, and the choice to keep him close, the only familiar person around, someone he just betrayed and who just tried to kill him. Someone who ended the world. It would've been interesting to see them work through everything instead of Luther's character development happening off-screen and his apology to Viktor losing meaning because Viktor did not remember anything, they should've worked things out together. Luther gets the time to reflect on his actions and Viktor wakes up to Luther, despite everything, caring for him. This should at some point evolve into a 'Viktor develops his powers'-montage where they use Luther's near-invincibility, he can be tossed around without hurting that much.
Klaus & Ben: Lose the cult, keep the Dave. I haven't thought that one through much, I just hated the cult storyline that went nowhere, but I did really like him trying to save Dave, it was a good storyline. I also think he should've developed his powers more there, because Klaus was sober through his stay in the 60s, so ghosts would have bothered him more, and he should've worked to keep them under control. I keep oscillating between 'this is how Reginald factors into the story, Klaus goes to him for help' and 'no way Klaus and Ben would go to Reginald, Ben becomes an impromptu teacher and that's how their relationship deteriorates'. This one needs workshopping, but I feel like trying to save Dave from dying + becoming more familiar with death as two cornerstones of Klaus' arc would be super fun to explore. Also he doesn't keep Ben away from everyone else, I reckon, but I would have to actually figure out how the season would go to figure out how and why. Something about Klaus getting better at controlling his powers and thus summoning Ben, him having the possibility to interact with the world for the first time in decades and wanting his independence but not being able to get it because he's been dead this entire time, he can never be away from Klaus...it'd be interesting.
Allison: Full disclosure, I really do love Ray, but I said no romances, so. I think it was a missed opportunity to not double down on Allison and sisterhood after s1 and have her form a meaningful relationship with Odessa and the other black women at the salon she worked at. Have her throw herself into community organising and resistance and build other women up after a lifetime of using her powers for selfish reasons. Have it hurt her too, because it makes her think about her daughter and how she will never be able to watch her grow into a strong woman, but at least she can try to build a better world for all of them, but especially for her. And there's the thing with the civil rights plotline either way, I just don't think that TUA as a show does not have the depth or the intelligence to do justice to this real movement, it will always kind of feel like a prop, so I don't think there truly is a way to do it justice, or if there is, someone please tell me. I do think they should've let her be angry at Viktor in s2 already, none of that forgive and forget crap, she was seriously injured, almost lost her life and then was thrust into an environment hostile to her mere existence as a black person, she should've been at least resentful by that point. I would've loved to see a confrontation between her and Viktor, she should've been allowed to express her hurt and it should've taken time for them to be buddy-buddy again. So at some point her storyline should flow into that of Luther and Viktor, but yeah. It'd need some more fleshing out but this is the general idea of where she'd start.
Diego: Alrighty. Instead of playing off Diego's hero complex and obsession with saving JFK as a joke, I think the show should've played it straight. Let him cut off Lee Harvey Oswald's trigger finger. Let him use his ability to deflect bullets to foil and attempts of assassination on the president and save the life of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. But not enough that they don't notice that there has been an attempt on the president's life. The FBI find a way to blame the Russians for this. Boom. Nuclear Armageddon. There's the apocalypse for the season. I wish s2 would have explored Diego's deep-seated need to prove himself, to leave his mark on history as someone who rights wrongs, who saves lives, more seriously, because him being a vigilante, rejecting his father but still trying to be a hero like he raised them to, was so integral to who he was in s1 and I wish they'd explored this in more depth. Also the story beat of trying to do something right that then has massive bad consequences would be on par for this show, I think it would have been really cool to explore. Especially since one of the main plot threads in that season would have been to stop Diego from fulfilling the destiny he set out for himself, make him defy that hero complex, which leads me to
Five: By god, they should have let him orchestrate the JFK assassination like he deserved to. Instead of pointlessly chasing after the apocalypse for a second time in a row and getting world's lamest made-up disease for no reason, they should've made it that he tries to figure out what causes the apocalypse this time around, only to be interrupted by AJ, who wants to recruit him. The thing is that someone keeps foiling the assassination of JFK and no matter how many snipers they sent there to take care of it, nothing helps (as we find out later, the certain someone responsible has bullet-redirecting abilities). And since there is no infinite switchboard in this, someone has to solve this the old way and figure out a foolproof way to kill the president. And so the Commission comes crawling back to Five, who realises that the assassination must happen to avert the apocalypse. So instead of making a deal to kill the Commission board in exchange for going back to 2019, he promises the orchestration of the JFK assassination - we get him trying to plan to foil what he doesn't know is his own brother, but once he does know, that throws another spanner into the works, because he doesn't want to kill Diego. We could have had some really good character exploration similar to the comics where he despises that the Commission has roped him back in, that he keeps having to do things he despises to have a chance at a normal life, and it would've made for some excellent interpersonal drama between him and Diego. I don't even know how this would resolve except for the fact that, you know, JFK bites it. Maybe Five ropes in his other siblings, or his old self. Maybe Reginald's real reason for unadopting them is that he wanted Kennedy alive, and they're the ones who killed him. I just think this would've been a much more interesting exploration of both Diego and Five.
And this is all just spitballing. This is not really a coherent re-write or adjustment. It doesn't take into account that there definitely should be other characters in this. I really did love Elliott, and Lila is a great addition to the cast and should be crow-barred into this somehow. How do all of these storylines converge? How much, if even, should Reginald factor into this? But those are the first ideas that I have to make s2 more coherent with the themes of s1.
For any “Twin Peaks” fan whose head is still spinning after Part 18 of “The Return,” consider Mark Frost’s new novel, “Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier,” an essential purchase. The new book is considered canon and helps fill in the 25-year gap between the Season 2 finale and Showtime’s event series. Frost provides some of the answers David Lynch did not, such as what actually happened to Audrey Horne, and the co-writer even goes a step further in setting the final chapter of his book after the events of Part 18.
David Lynch ended “Twin Peaks: The Return” with a baffling final hour that expanded the mythology of the show by raising a hundred new questions. Agent Dale Cooper was granted entry way into the past by Phillip Jeffries to prevent the death of Laura Palmer. Cooper succeeded in preventing Laura from making it to the railroad cart where she was murdered, but sensing an interference with the real timeline, the all-powerful entity known as Judy ripped Laura from our world and brought her…somewhere else.
Many theories believe most of Part 18 is set in this “somewhere else,” which seems to be an alternate dimension where Agent Cooper is now Richard and Laura Palmer is a woman from Odessa, Texas named Carrie Page. The show ended with Page apparently remembering her alternate past as Laura Palmer and letting out a series-ending scream. Frost’s last chapter of “Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier” does not explain what happens next to Page/Palmer and Cooper/Richard, but it is set in a Twin Peaks that is very different than what fans will remember.
Vulture has written out the excerpt below from “The Final Dossier.” The final chapter centers around Agent Tammy Preston (Crysta Bell), who stayed in Twin Peaks for several days after the events of the finale and researched old newspaper articles.
You know what else I discovered, Chief, in that same article, a few sentences later? This:
“Agent Cooper had come to town for a few months earlier, to aid in the investigation into the disappearance, still unsolved, of local teenage beauty queen, Laura Palmer.”
Let me repeat that phrase for you: “still unsolved.” No mention of “murder,” “wrapped in plastic,” or “father arrested for shocking crime eventually dies in police custody of self-inflicted wounds.”
It’s right there on the front page: Laura Palmer did not die. So, fairly certain I’ve not misplaced my own mind, I go back and check the corresponding police records. They tell me this: Laura Palmer disappeared from Twin Peaks without a trace — on the very same night when, in the world we thought we knew, it used to be said she died — but the police never found the girl or, if she had been killed elsewhere, her body or made a single arrest.
When Cooper prevented Laura Palmer from making it to the site of her murder, Lynch made viewers witness scenes from the pilot episode of “Twin Peaks” change. Palmer’s dead body on the beach disappeared into thin air, for instance. Frost’s novel confirms that Cooper succeeded in the real timeline in preventing Palmer’s death as we know it, and the fact that her “disappearance” is still “unsolved” supports the claim that Judy pulled her into an alternate timeline. But because Laura went “missing,” the fate of her family followed a similar path: Her father killed himself out of grief and her mother become a depressed alcoholic with a prescription drug addiction.
The information Frost reveals only makes the ending Lynch created for the series more tragic. Cooper “succeeded” in preventing Laura’s death, but in return his actions led to her disappearance, creating the same unfortunate outcome for the Palmer family in the real timeline. As we saw in Part 18, Cooper then entered the alternate timeline to save Laura all over again and try to fix everything, but we all know how that turned out.
got some more ideas, you can take them or leave them
Tracer: brown ranger, Auriga the cheetah, can replace Hana for a wheeled leg
Baptiste: Teal ranger, Dorado the swordfish, can replace a Genji arm for a sword arm
Lifeweaver: grey ranger, Pavo the peacock, can replace a Genji arm for a shield arm
Ashe: Maroon ranger, serpens the snake, can become a whip/lasso
Bob: Olive ranger, Taurus the bull, becomes a giant hammer and armor
Yuna: crimson ranger (like pinkish red), lupus the wolf, can replace Cassidy and Pharah in the megazord
Odessa and Hammond: rust ranger (like a dirty orangey-yellow brown), Baidam the Shark and Pisces the fish, Baidam zord replaces Pharah for a lower torso with a tail while Pisces zord becomes a mace/axe mix on the end of that tail (if you want to see how i think that would look, look at Executioner on RWBY wiki cuz thats the closest I can think of)
Zarya: magenta ranger, Ursa the bear, becomes a torso, head, and legs
Mei: Lavender ranger, Lacerta the Lizard, becomes a three spiked arm (like the three spikes are in a triangle pointing forward)
Satya: cyan ranger, delphinus the Dolphin, becomes a laser scissors arm
Feel free to just use these as Auxiliary zords if you want!
Ok so this is def gonna be used for inspiration later. So i'm goin to take notes.
But as I said before, there are already other rangers I'm considering, most other characters already have their roles figured out on my end. Though something I will say is that though some characters are going to be one off characters or just side characters. Whenever they come up they will have a major part in at least one episode, even if they are just the monster of the week character.
How great that OL in the first 3 seasons had SC as JC act their real bedroom antics in front of the camera and the 20 people in the room with the the directors, choreographers, executives, etc. acting as sick voyeurs! All for shippers' benefit because every romantic screen couple with amazing chemistry had to be together in RL in order to be as good on screen. 😲
Anonymous asked:
Agree that the Frasers are chaste and PG, but it’s just another reason I believe they’re together IRL. I don’t think they want to share what’s theirs so openly anymore…with skin, tongues, going all out. They might be embarrassed at how much they went for it in the beginning. That shit’s all over the internet! I get it, that would be weird if you were actually together. It wouldn’t be weird if she was with someone else and they were ACTing all along, right? Antis love to use Tony as the excuse for it cooling down, but that doesn’t make any sense. I don’t believe they could fake the way their characters look at each other and are intimate, even without the sex, after all this time if they didn’t actually feel it. They’d look more disinterested if it wasn’t nice for them in some way, if it bothered Tony. They’re doing it, they just want it for themselves and that’s okay.
odessa-2
I agree that they don't want people having a window into their real sex life. A bit late for that now. We've already seen it and it made S1-3 MAGICAL! They are doing their characters and the story an injustice with these Days of Our Lives style love scenes. They're unremarkable, forgettable, boring and they may as well not bother with this level of dilution. Jamie and Claire were hot for each other in the books. Omitting this due to personal reasons of any variety is not what the role calls for and is an inaccurate portrayal of the JC love story.
It's said that images and ideas are the reflections of what's seen in photos. That can also be said of film. From the opening episode, Sam and Caitriona's true inward feelings were on screen, visible to all. Many chose to see reality, and many chose to deny it. I can see them ACTing as a romantic couple in the initial episodes, but once they filmed The Reckoning, nothing was left to the imagination. IMO, that episode broke the damn...and what was shown was completely S&C as J&C. They could not damper that lust and craving for each other.
Yes to these people what they actually watched during first seasons was p0rn and real fuck1ng. On set.
These folks after watching the movie "Carol" run to send posts to Cate Blanche's husband warning him that since she had used tongue with Rooney Mara for the sex scenes in the movie she had turned out to be a lesbian married to a man and with 3 kids.
I mean... yeah that's the level
Missing Scenes Masterlist 2
part one
.40 Caliber Ache (ao3) - aSintobeRin G, 1k
Summary: Peter just needs a second. Less than a second. Just long enough for him to catch his breath and get rid of the stars dancing across his vision.
A missing scene from NWH, between the school roof and the science lab.
AKA Odessa (ao3) - sirendoom T, 3k
Summary: Natasha was given a mission years ago to escort an engineer but encounters a mysterious enemy along the way.
Bottom of the Ninth (ao3) - anti_ela steve/bucky T, 1k
Summary: The missing scene from Avengers: Endgame.
"I understand," Bucky said, smiling. His heart was imploding, but what did that matter? He'd never expected Steve would choose him. This was inevitable.
Benign (ao3) - Face_of_Poe G, 2k
Summary: “T’Challa,” Ayo moves closer, leans in to whisper harshly. “I accept your word that James Barnes did not murder King T’Chaka. He is still HYDRA’s assassin. That has never been in question.”
T’Challa turns and considers him; Bucky’s eyes skitter away under the scrutiny. Steve keeps a firm hand on his shoulder, steadying him, grounding him. Signaling his readiness to defend him further, if he must. “Was, Ayo,” T’Challa murmurs. “He was HYDRA’s assassin. And the Winter Soldier had a great many victims, yes?”
Bucky swallows and keeps his eyes fixed on the ground.
“We cannot let ourselves forget that the Winter Soldier’s first victim… was James Barnes.”
Breathing Room (ao3) - kcscribbler T, 5k
Summary: In the immediate aftermath of S02E01, both Loki and Mobius are a little worse for wear. Shameless self-indulgent H/C, you've been warned accordingly.
Disconnect (ao3) - shadowhuntingdauntlessdemigod T, 1k
Summary: The first day they tie him to the table in the isolation ward, James Buchanan Barnes fights with all the will and strength he has left—not that he has much to give after being held in a prison cell and barely fed for weeks. Here’s what it gets him: strapped so tight that his lungs can hardly expand, stuck with needles filled with varying liquids, and knocked out by a fist to the cheekbone.
Fracture (ao3) - Silent_but_Artemis bruno/kamala G, 5k
Summary: An addition to the end of Episode 3: Destined to fill in some blanks. What happened after Kamala left Bruno and Nakia that night? How did Bruno end up with his arm in a cast and was Nakia able to get the full story of Kamala's powers explained to her?
How Bucky Barnes Accidentally Became A Goat Farmer (ao3) - SeaSpectre160 G, 1k
Summary: Bucky Barnes has been through a lot of strange experiences. This latest one? Being stalked by a pair of goats that have apparently decided that he’s their human now.
(in)sincerity (ao3) - Ingrid_Gradiant loki/sylvie T, 955
Summary: At McDonald's, Loki and Sylvie were talking for another minute and a half while we heard Mobius talking to Brad Wolfe. What did they say? Maybe this.
in your arms i fall (ao3) - icantsleepits4am steve/bucky M, 1k
Summary: In 1945, five Red Army soldiers search for a dying American in the Alps and thus, the Winter Soldier was born.
my mind is a hurricane (but you calm the storm) (ao3) - helloilovefanfiction implied loki/mobius T, 1k
Summary: As he flipped through the files, Loki’s gaze caught on a particular variant with dark bruises around his neck, clearly inflicted by a hand. Against his better judgement, he read the summary of the variant’s Nexus Event.
One More Bridge To Cross (ao3) - Taramayus mj/peter T, 20k
Summary: Now, sitting on Happy’s uncomfortable, probably very expensive, modern couch, with Peter on one side of her pressed up close and holding her hand, and Ned on the other end slumped in the corner as they watch Mean Girls (MJ’s pick, sue her, they needed something more light hearted to watch after the week they had) MJ wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. There is a running commentary comparing characters to students at Midtown with May chiming in from the kitchen here and there. -- or, how do MJ and Peter evolve from the post-credit scenes in FFH to the main events of NWH
remember me (for centuries) (ao3) - bookinit loki/mobius T, 3k
Summary: He doesn’t have time for this. It’s been twelve years, and he still doesn’t understand the inner components of the throughput multiplier. Yes, twelve years is a mere blink of an eye, in relation to the grander scope of his life, but—foolishly, Loki thought he would be a quicker study. OB said centuries, but Loki had, in the far back of his mind, expected minutes. He had expected greatness. He had expected to be exceptional.
He is decidedly not.
between centuries, loki figures out what he wants.
say goodbye (ao3) - thorbiased jane/thor T, 1k
Summary: A missing scene from Thor: Love and Thunder that answers a few questions I had like:
How did Jane get Warsong? Why did Jane go to Valhalla if she’s not Asgardian? How come we never saw Valkyrie’s reaction to Jane’s death? Can’t we actually have some Valkyrie screen time?
Single Malt 9ao3) - Tsimmes T, 1k
Summary: Sam could forgive Walker for the guns-a-blazing approach to diplomacy and intel gathering, or his generally obnoxious demeanor, but he draws the line at forcing him to deal with a concussed international terrorist and certified pain in the ass.
The Church Bells Toll For Thee, Lost Soldier (ao3) - DCAngst T, 2k
Summary: James Buchanan Barnes is a face and name on display in the Smithsonian. He reads about himself, and when he leaves, he heads to Brooklyn, where a haunting sound calls him to a familiar place.
In the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie, Steve comes home from his mother's funeral, with Bucky following. Church bells ring in the distance. Seventy-eight years later, they ring again.
The Talk (ao3) - mybestgirl steve/peggy G, 3k
Summary: Steve has a crazy idea. Bucky doesn't think it's all that crazy.
thought we built a dynasty forever couldn't break (ao3) - mducklesworth G, 2k
Summary: He finally looks over to Steve, who’s still staring intently at his book.
“That haircut,” Tony says, “looks absolutely terrible on you.”
He doesn’t miss the flash of surprise that crosses Steve’s face, like he’s shocked that Tony even noticed he’s there. He smooths the page out and looks up. For a minute, he doesn’t say anything, just looks, sitting like that with his cheek against his fist, and Tony doesn’t manage to hold his gaze for too long.
