911 ep 706 first watch reactions

Buck and Eddie setting up the bachelor party are so funny. They're married to a degree that the bride and groom can only aspire to one day achieve. And Madney are raising a kid together! Then again, so are Buddie, and have been since day 2... (day 1 is forever Buck ogling Eddie at the station, and Eddie strutting his stuff for him, with Buck's now canonically jealou-traction being the, ummm, lubricant)

Oh, Tommy just arrived, Buck and him have done nothing but hug, and Eddie's already bringing on the jealousy jealou-traction. IDK what is the etiquette about bringing your date to a bachelor party, but what's the rule about bringing your hubby who's jealous of your bf?

Oh, and an extra jab at Buck bringing Tommy officially as his date to the wedding. I love me a jealous Eddie. My dude, your closet is shaking so hard, it's about to push you out of itself if you don't make the move already.

Okay, in all seriousness, Tommy not dressing like the 80's, Buck showing that he really cared about that silly party theme, Eddie rolling with it, the two of them being dressed more as a couple than the actual guys dating, Buddie seeing things so much in the same way (down to both seeing themselves as the same character from Miami Vice) while Buck and Tommy are totally out of sync... I love that Tommy is there to help Buck figure himself out, but also, this is the stuff that will forever keep me shipping Buddie.

I know the flashback is mainly to show that the bachelor party is Buck's idea, and goes against Chim's wishes, but Eddie suggests the couple costume? And Buck was so readily on board? Even when he knew Tommy would also be invited? This is my house catching fire, while I sit here, mumbling to myself how fine it all is...

Okay, everyone leaving the bachelor party, even the guy Buck is dating, while Eddie stays, sure is something. And by "something" I mean "a couple." That's a couple. That's Buck's partner in everything, even dumb ass 80's costumes and failed bachelor parties, he's the one who jumps in whatever stupid plan Buck comes up with, and stays to deal with the mess.

LOL And then we got some REAL mess. Again, dumb Buck idea, and Eddie just rolling with it. Making it worse even, by suggesting how to take the party (made up of people who don't even know the groom) to Chimney. These two deserve each other. XD

Buck was behind Eddie while his shirt was being torn? Presumably helping with the tearing? That's it, 911 does not want me to make it to the end of the season with my sanity intact. I guess it's good that I'm not even trying...

I'm glad there was a representation of Chim and Kevin, and a Korean tradition, I just hope it was a truthful one. (do we have Korean viewers in our midst to chime in on this?)

Maddie using her 911 skills to find and help Chim is pretty badass (and a nice gender reversal of the 'damsel in distress needing to be saved a sec before her wedding' tale). Love it!

Maddie and Chim looked so happy during their wedding. Honestly, at the end of the day, my little hopelessly romantic heart doesn't need more than that. <3

Awwww, the Buck and Tommy kiss was nice. I think the most important part of it is we got to see Buck for the first time daring to kiss another guy, rather than wait to be kissed. I may bbe a Buddie shipper, but I think this r/s is important to Buck as well, to his ability to find what he wants, to not be scared of it, to not wait for others to want him as was the case with all the women he'd dated, but rather figure out what he wants in a certain moment, and that it's okay for him to go get it.

(I still don't think Tommy is Buck's endgame, though. Much as his probably my fave Buck r/s so far other than Eddie. Tommy not being there for Buck when the bachelor party flunked, him not being there at the wedding itself, to share this significant moment with Buck, being almost incidental to Buck's coming out to his colleagues and parents, other than being a gay that was obviously kissed by Buck just a short while ago... Again, just not the stuff great love stories are made of)

Hen going, "Finally!" to Karen was funny and cute. Everyone (almost) just smiling at Buck's coming out was nice. But the way his mom reacted in particular felt more realistic, and made me wish that at least with his parents, who we know he has a strained r/s with, the should would have allowed this to be more explored. Hopefully in a future ep if not now.

4. a story idea you haven’t written yet I have tons. Some fairytale-inspired; I'd like to do a selkie fic. I also have a sort of Rapunzel-esque idea with Arthur being the damsel in distress locked in a tower. Another with Morgana as a sort of Baba Yaga-esque character and Merlin as her raven who used to be a man she turned into a bird for being annoying. Arthur is her annoying brother on a quest who needs her help; Merlin goes with him, of course, and Arthur breaks the spell on him and is highly dismayed to discover the annoying talking bird is a super hot man.

Horsemus, the obviously gay stallion among the mares, absolutely can't blend in. Virgil knows all of his mares, he raised them and named them. He also knows that none of them will ever have steam coming out of their ears and not a single one can turn red and mimic a train whistle. He calls Horsemus "Daffy" (short for Daffy Duke) and gives him some needed attention.

Remus finding out about the nightmares is probably what makes his gay heart do backflips. Imagine a young Remus, just a teen with a lot of problems, unable to sleep. He goes to the imagination to blow off steam, but he sees Virgil creeping around, hiding something big in his jacket.

He follows him to a meadow and watches Virgil set a foal down and waits for her to stand on shaking legs before bottle feeding her. He's so patient and gentle with her, petting her and cooing at her. Remus had never seen this side of Virgil before and he is smitten if he wasn't already.

He only makes his presence known once the horse vanishes. Virgil is embarrassed and annoyed but not angry, and he explains himself. Remus is officially into this spider and wants him

Update on my anti-Byler bestie

Here's the post if you missed it.

First of all, thank you to everyone who shared their favourite Byler evidence, it made me very happy and it was funny sharing it with my friend.

Now, unfortunately my friend cannot be convinced. I'm autistic and have trouble understanding people's intentions and feelings, so I can't tell if he's being fully serious, half serious, or completely unserious, but to me it seems most like half serious. He's strongly in denial and won't really give me a reason as to why, he just says, "No, not happening."

So there's no getting to him, he believes without a doubt that Byler isn't happening (and said he'll start a riot if it does happen, but Idk if he was serious). And he says he's going to find evidence, but his only proof so far has been, "Nooooo." XD

So I've been dealing with that. It's kind of frustrating because I feel like he's not really listening to anything I'm saying, he just denies everything. And I understand sort of because he actually bet me $50 Byler won't happen in season 5 (I didn't bet anything, he just gets to keep the money if he's right). So he doesn't want to admit defeat to that, which is fair, but it was a stupid bet to make in the first place since he didn't have all the information (the proof for Byler).

Additionally, at lunch today we were talking to a girl who's also in our anxiety support class, and I was talking about Byler stuff (Mike's official playlist songs, the way he looks at Will, their flirty scenes in season 4, Mike using the "we're friends" trope, etc.). She agreed with my friend that Byler isn't a thing and said Mike is so straight.

I can argue with them as much as I want but it gets really frustrating and even kind of annoying that they just don't understand all the evidence. I'm just venting here, so absolutely no hate towards people who don't believe Byler is canon, but as someone who cares so deeply about it, it can make me kind of emotional trying to argue that I'm not delusional.

In the end we agreed to disagree, which is fine and valid and I respect that. But with my friend, it's kind of a big deal, because to me Byler is a big deal. I admit I'm obsessed, Byler has been my biggest special interest since I watched season 4 and found out it was a thing. I can't really help it, I'm just so passionate about it and it gets stuck in my mind. You could say I'm hopelessly devoted to Byler, one of my friends online has even said they think it's unhealthy, but how can something that brings me so much joy be wrong?

Ok this has devolved significantly, but what I'm trying to say in this whole rant/vent thing is that yes, I'm very invested in the relationship between fictional characters, because it's important to me. Representation matters, and even though I'm not a gay man, I still love seeing other groups be represented, especially in a show this popular, with a story this deep. The beauty of Byler's story transcends everything.

So it's frustrating trying to argue for something I care so much about. Byler makes me happy, it motivates me, it inspires me. I'm not going to apologize for loving the things I love and being passionate about my interests. Of course I try to be open minded, respect different opinions, and listen to other points of view. If my friend actually had evidence against Byler, I would listen and respond as constructively and respectfully as I can.

Basically, shipping Byler is valid, and not shipping or even being anti-Byler is valid (unless it's just for homophobic reasons, homophobia is not valid). But I love Byler and it does kind of hurt to have something I care about be adamantly denied and torn apart. And you know, as I'm writing this I'm actually empathizing with Milevens. This doesn't just go for Byler, it goes for all ships (as long as they're not messed up obviously), people should be able to enjoy what they enjoy without others trying to tell them why they're wrong.

There's nothing wrong with analyzing Mileven, talking about why it's unhealthy or not going to be endgame, etc. But that should stay in the proper places, we don't need to constantly remind Milevens that they're ship isn't going to end up together. Just let them be happy, and I'd expect them to do the same for us.

Idk how this turned into talking about Milevens and respecting different ships, but it did somehow. Anyway, back to the point, my friend may be wrong about what will happen in season 5, but his beliefs on it are still valid. I just wish we could talk about it in a way that doesn't make me feel bad about shipping Byler and believing it's endgame. Does that make sense?

This isn't that serious or anything, and take everything I said here as just a random vent/rant, I'm just getting out all my thoughts and feelings, because I need to after all the arguing with people today.

If Byler doesn't happen, I'll be sad, but I know I won't be alone because I have my fellow Bylers, my Byler family and community here. We can all be sad together, and support each other. When I feel bad about something, I like to remember this quote:

That's how I feel about Byler not being endgame.

But on a lighter note, I'm pretty sure Byler will end up together, it just makes sense. So yeah, feel free to share any of your thoughts and feelings about this, I'd love to hear them. :)

I just needed to share some Byler positivity at the end because I'm tired of being surrounded by Byler negativity in my class.

Personally I don’t really get people who say they acknowledge Sasuke and Naruto’s romantic bond but still ship Sasuke with a woman… Like, they saw that he was gay (he’s shown to not be attracted to women so he’s not bi) but kinda don’t care?

Actually I don’t really understand the whole shipping culture, or even mainstream fandom culture… I don’t know, I just don’t see the point in just making up content for pre-existing characters while completely destroying what made the characters unique in the first place by ignoring canon entirely (like crack-shipping). I get why people wouldn’t like everything about canon, it’s my case too, but if they don’t like anything about canon… Why are they here in the first place?

Well, I don't believe such ships have much to do with Canon either way. And I doubt all of them hate Canon per se, though some change 'Canon' to like Canon, which is funny. "This is my Canon." Yeah, not how it works, but ok- have your Canon your way ofc ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌

Side-note though, I don't think Sasuke even knows who Hinata is? 😆 It's as you say; crack-shipping. (I saw that giant/small-yaoi meme here on Tumblr again. No idea what it's called, and immediately thought; a yes, Sukuna and Levi. Kinda want to draw xD Makes no sense at all.) A lot of Headcanon is derived from personal... ideas/desires/inspiration or self-inserting reasons? (Isn't that exactly what 'x-reader' fics are?) Or even trend-posting. As much as characters are used to tell a story for the original author/creator (they're essentially tools), do fans use them to create new ideas. "Ah yes, we all know this character, let's create something around it simply because I want to." Which is completely fine, right? Look at rare pairs. And to be fair, a lot of content, fictional writing and art aren't even based on canon either. The closest thing through fan-work are Manga analyses or meta's, even panel redraws- stuff like that. People adapt 'canon' into fanwork through various degrees or sometimes ditch it altogether. Nsfw/spice is by default made up and entirely Headcanon :') (Though personality can be depicted in a way ig, through expression/behavior and whatnot.)

I totally get what you mean though, although I guess I'm caught up in fandom-culture now. Personally, I do like characters as 'canon' as possible, but it really depends. For some Animanga I don't really care. I think I ship pretty much all TR/BlueLock-characters for literally no reason, but I wouldn't claim it to be Canon in any way (˚☐˚! )/

However, I don't like it when Naruto and Sasuke's characters are butchered. Made-up context or not. The originals are so special to me and it's the reason why I'm a fan, though I don't mind too much in fics, depending on the story. I find it hard to feel the same when they've practically become someone's OC's with only the same name and design. I can't even read height/age-differences because I can't imagine it xD But anyway, this all includes "official" work made for financial/marketing reasons also- especially those damn novels. Those never have anything to do with canon, nor does it align with it. No matter how passionately people claim otherwise.

I'm only a tiny bit petty about it >< u&me grumpy 🤝 And aahhww I don't actually, you should see me sitting here in giant red Christmas socks and a glittery green sweater that's kinda itchy tbh. Hey, what is the monarchy like in GOS after King Lee dies. Like in the travelor, Teacher and farmer lifetimes? Did Lee put a system in place to ensure his decendants would not fall off the past like the last monarchs? Did he create something akin to the rounf table, and have it so the king/ queen would not be the sole ruler in charge? Maybe even specific areas of the government are directly owned by the lower class, and they have something akin to a union and their own leader, so the king can talk with them and discuss their needs at the time.

You mentioned once that Kakashi had a talk with Lee when he was crowned king, and that if his heirs are not suited, that perhaps he can pick another person he finds have the qualities needed. Does Lee put that system in place, contingencies to avoid a bad apple in his blood line?

And does Kakashi present himself to every new ruler? I could see there being a ceromony when the new king/ queen is decided, that the amulet Rougue Gainmade all those years ago, is passed on and worn by the new king. When its put around their neck, I could see Kakashi appearing to the new ruler either that night, or in some sort of vision.

Which means if/ when a new king is crowned in Kakashi's mortal life time, I could see the ruler freaking out because OH MY GODS THERE WAS NO VISION. OUR PATROM GOD HAS ABANDONED US/ DIED!!!! (Hopefully they do so in private XD;)

So we definitly have the system King Lee puts into place to ensure that the next ruler in line is hand chosen by the previous one, with no restiction of them having to be related the the current monarch by blood. For Lee it's more important to keep them from falling back into the same mistakes and miserable existence than it is the keep the royal line 'pure'.

But i also really love this idea of Kakashi making a habit of greeting the new monarch the night after their coronation and reminding them of their duty. Ensuring for himself that they're not going to make the same mistakes of the past.

Because of these systems, perhaps by the time of Kakashi's mortal life, the monarchy has no biological relation left to King Lee, but they embody his beliefs and everything he was taught by the roughs and gods he grew up beside. Perhaps some people within the kingdom try to use the knowledge of Kakashi never appearing to the new Queen as 'proof' that she is not the correct choice, leading to a revolt or two during their mortal life (one when he and Gai are kids and one when they're adults). In that second revolt, Kakashi and Gai are expected to choose a side, and they choose the queen's side.

Kakashi, even in his mortal life, chooses to stand by the Queen chosen by her predecessor, and Gai, the one who had fought so hard to put an end to the corrupt monarchy and lost his life in the fight, also chooses her side.

Anyone who knows who the two really are realizes that this is the queen the village needs, so even if they were on the fence beforehand they quickly change sides.

As for when Kakashi would finally appear to the queen, I'd say it would be the same day the rain returns. He needs to rest of course, and he's going to do that, but Obito's going to have to kill him again to keep him from doing his duty.

No, he appears at her side during a meeting with all of her highest-ranked officials. The general who leads her army (which isn't that big but is strong), the head of the merchants guild, the Queen's advisors, etc.

The Queen is speaking when someone opens their mouth to object, but before they can speak lightning cracks through the sky and Kakashi appears at her side.

And maybe some of them recognize him.

maybe the General had met Kakashi when he and Gai stood up to defend the queen's reign and lamented at how intelligent Kakashi was in tactics and how he would have made a great soldier, or even a great general himself.

Maybe the merchant guild's head knows Kakashi because he would often interact with him as he was growing up bringing produce from his farm to the market.

They see this man who they had stood beside, and possibly fought beside. who they'd had conversations with and laughed with, but now he's standing at the queen's side as a god, and they're faced with the reality that the god of storms wasn't just gone.

he was mortal

he was living among them, and even in his mortal life he stood at the Queen's side and fought for her right to rule.

No one's ever going to question her legitimacy to rule again.

I don't know, I'm super torn 😵‍💫 I haven't seen images of this one scene yet, so this is all based on what the leaker said, but to me Uraraka thinking about Deku and then saying that she wants to be like Toga automatically read as "oh, I want to be upfront about my feelings too", that's why I'm... annoyed/frustrated with it, like girrrrl you were doing so well, and then you had to bring mr brocoli into it (+ I think it's kind of dumb to put an ordinary crush on a boy on the same level as Toga's feelings, even if it is to validate them/show that there's nothing wrong with them, that there's something admirable in the way they're expressed)

I mean, I was an absolute doomerist for this arc (with some of my old posts as proof askxkgk), so what happened has wildly surpassed my expectations as it is, and Uraraka will always be gay-in-love with Toga in my heart no matter what 🫶🙏 to me it's one of those classical shonen cases where In Theory there's a couple we should pay attention to and look forward to seeing (izu//ocha), but In Practice the members of that couple have waaaaay more interesting things going on with someone else (LIKE "DRINK MY BLOOD, FOREVER" HELLO ?????), but with girls too for once lol. I completely forgot to answer this! I am so sorry! I'm also glad you liked the customs, too. 3. Do you have any rules about buying new figures? For this part I'm going to interpret New as in New to me and my collection. "I don't need it! I don't need to start another collection of horse toys form *insert brand here* " is what I usually tell myself. When it comes to non-Breyers I refrain from buying them online. What I find in the wild is what I find. Nearly all my Grand Champions/Empire horses were thrift-type finds. Nowadays I try not to buy doubles of things like MLPs and Barbie horses if I find 'em secondhand. I also stop myself from buying fakies unless they're something really odd. Breyers are a different story they are usually a 100% bought if they're thrift finds whether or not I have the model already. CUSTOM FODDER! One of these days I will make one. If we're talking brand new horse toys, I try to buy Breyers when there are some sorts of sale/savings on 'em if it's a regular release. 6. Do you name your figures? I usually just use their given names if they have one because I am lame and I have like way too many horse figures to give them all new names. I don't remember some of the official names to begin with. XD But sometimes I'll give them funny titles. For Example I like to call my Equidae Breyer my "Gay Pride Draft Horse"

Oh wow, I did not expect an ask about Kinnporsche The Series / Mileapo, but I probably should have since I went off a bit in the tags of that gifset reblog, didn't I? XD Please never take me too seriously whenever I claim two specific individuals have invented love, I'm just joking around. Unless I'm talking about David and Jonathan, because they totally did. ;p

But if I'm to try and answer seriously, I would say that officially, the last time either Mile or Apo have addressed the issue of their romantic status, they both said they're single (Mile in Aug 2022, Apo in July 2021 if I'm not mistaken). Of course, that's also the response I would expect from them if they were together. Because just like there are opposite sex couples who meet on the sets of movies and TV shows, and fall in love or just have an affair, there are same sex couples who go through the same thing. The difference is that society (and the entertainment business even more so) is still so homophobic, that these same sex couples often can't come out. I mean, if opposite sex couples sometimes feel they need to keep it to themselves, and we only find out about their romances decades later, like in the case of Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve (if we find out about them at all), then imagine how much harder it is for same sex couples who fall in love as co-stars... (or even when there's a same sex celebrity couple, period)

Other than Mile, Apo and the people they trust, no one really knows if Mileapo actually are a couple and have to be closeted, or if they're just truly the best of friends who bonded so much as co-stars on the set of KPTS that their behavior is hard to distinguish from the way lovers act towards each other. We also have to take into account that they're from Thailand, and the cultural norms for how men are allowed to interact can be very different. Especially when we remember that they starred in a BL (gay themed show) together, and the norm for that is heavy fan service. I AM convinced that even then, their bond runs deeper than fan service, especially since the original production of KPTS was canceled, and the production company that was set up instead explicitly said it would not require fan service. Plus, this company was co-founded by Mile to save KPTS and give Apo his second chance to shine as an actor, after he had been previously bullied by homophobes into leaving the acting world. So yeah, I have every reason to believe their connection is real.

And the fact that this is a part of their unhinged story (that they met briefly as models 7 years before they auditioned for KPTS, that they obviously thought the other one is an attractive man and remembered each other all of these years, that Mile watched Apo's shows, that they re-connected at the auditions and seem to have been inseparable since, for over 2.5 years now, that they fought together for KPTS to be made and then gave us on screen an astounding love story, that they chose to go on working together on their next projects, including the upcoming queer film Man Suang, and continue to hang out even outside of their busy schedule together) brings us to what is most meaningful to me about them. Whether their bond is romantic or platonic, it's clearly so deep that I wouldn't hesitate to call them soulmates. They love and care for each other, support one another, and I think they healed each other in ways that make me feel soft and happy to know that such love exists in the world. So I'm going to continue rooting for them, and possibly joke about it like I know that they're a couple, because in a very profound sense of the word, even if it's not romantic, they are.

If you were the official writer for Warhammer 40k, what sort of themes would you explore and what big events do you want to happen in the Grimdark Galaxy?

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this one, for some reason this question didn't show up on mobile.

To be honest, I'd hate to be in charge of the whole mess xD I'm not good at managing people, and I'm afraid they'd be passive-aggressive if I told them to change the way they write. And besides, it ain't all about me and what I like to read! There are a lot of people who like what they currently publish, and that's okay.

But I would like to be catered to a little with canon, y'know?

So, themes I would like to explore...

If we're going to be all grim-dark, let's get grim-dark with the Astartes and Primarchs, eh? Show them having more tender sides. Explore what they really are: child-soldiers, subjected to radical medical and psychological treatments that are often fatal, all for the glory of an authoritarian government, all so they can maybe have some glory someday?? Some authors do do that. When I provided my monster list of recs, I criminally forgot Aaron Dembsky-Bowden's Night Lord series, which does explore this! It shows the tragic nature of some of the most monstrous people in 40k while also not shying away from how, y'know, fucking monstrous these characters are. So...more stuff like that, I guess? Yeah, more stuff like that! No more stoic marines.

Let's see more xenos stories, too. How about some stories from the perspective of Tyranids? Some Tyranids are supposed to have human-level intelligence, so why not stories about Tyranids fighting for their hive? Maybe at the end the protagonist, a synapse creature mortally wounded in the protection of their biomatter pools, gives the orders to their subordinates to devour them and bring them to the digester pool so that they can be one with their hive forever? Have it be an uplifting, transcendent experience for them. You've got your grimdark there, the whole...dying and being eaten thing...but also some freaking light, dying what a Tyranid considers to be "the good death." If Necrons can be rewritten to not be mindless automatons of metal, then why not rewrite Tyranids to not be mindless automatons of flesh and chitin?

More alliances. More bridging gaps. I know it's not very 40k, I know it goes against everything they've ever written, but franchises are allowed to evolve, to change over time, yes?

And finally, I'd love to read stories about the early lives and early struggles of the Primarchs. Show them struggling to overcome, show them making friends and making mistakes, learning how to become great heroes instead of just...fully forming. Show us more interesting stories and settings.

And for the love of all the gods and other entities considered holy, give us some fucking light. Have some more uplifting stories. Seriously, having everything be sad and awful all the time gets boring and it's the reason I don't read that much 40k, because it gets so damn depressing. I read for escapism, damnit, please don't make the only uplifting thing in your book be that the Imperium hates aliens so much that they're okay with gays and POC, because in some books, that's the only happy thing going on.

The duffers confirmed that they really did forget Will’s birthday :( and they’re suddenly posting about Byler during pride month, so I feel like we’re going to get queerbaited.

Um ... one let's just adress the bday thing for a second. I'm still a bit skeptical and wonder if they're lying( not like the cast hasn't done so before).

Like s2: Will has a "I forgot your birthday " card, the same season they state the date of his bday . Then in s4 murray mentions to joyce "forgetting your kid's birthday" and they also show the date so we know exactly what day it is (plus other bday refs too). That's a coincidence? Was the duffers subconscious trying to remind them that they and joyce were forgetting something? 🤣

Like ya'll ... there was even a cancelled videogame that was supposed to be set on Will's b day. The mobile game (between s3 and 4) has joyce "cancel Will's birthday entertainment". It's so weird if they some how forgot XD

I'm just skeptical they could have forgotten the only confirmed bday in the show-dissapointing if the case . Or they don't want to spoil something (so said that in the interview).

But again one doesn't equal the other. Even if they forgot his bday... I really don't think we will be queerbaited. Saying this as someone who's dealt with queerbaiting or the even worse trope of "b*rry your gays' once the couple got together. The writing is different in ST.

And clearly part 1 was to hint to the (oblivious general) audience that byler is a possibility. Then between part 1 and 2 is pride month. And they promote byler for pride month- because part 2 is pro byler and airs the day after pride month ends. M*leven probably finally break up officially in part 2 (and byler will be set up heavily in part 2 as we go into s5).
