It's about feeding your soul. Doing things the best you can is satisfying. 🔷️A good work out. 🔷️A great day at work. 🔷️An awesome day engaged with our kids. 🔷️A date night with the wife where you both really connect again. 🔷️A project you just knocked out. These things make us feel proud. Feel like a winner. Feel happy. The more you give your best. The happier you will be. When I was 18 I worked a summer doing concrete. Guys laughed when I worked too hard or over extorted myself. They thought they were winning when I carried the heaver load or the harder task. I'll always work harder. It's not in me to take shortcuts. More efficient, I will do. Lazy I can't do. Fast forward 17 years. They still work construction. I've been retired for 3 years redirecting where I bring my best effort. Let them laugh. You do what's best for you. Giving your best leads to recognition. Approval. Victory. Promotions. Self improvement. Becoming a better dad, husband, & man. And what an example to set. #bestdad #beyourbestself #selfimprovement #thursday #better #motivated #workethic https://www.instagram.com/p/CpTnY43O_ou/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Whether it's due to a generation gap or a kid's need to "figure it out" themselves, we can complain about plenty of occasions when we just don't understand what our kids are doing. And we don't think we're alone.
