The was commissioned from the amazing Facundo Nehuén López, an amazing Argentinian artist (who also goes by @Fackeate on Twitter)! They were an inspiring person to work with, bringing our characters to life in mindblowing ways! I highly would work with them again!
Clockwise (starting Top Left): Pryrrish the star elf warlock, Channa the human duskblade (and earth familiar Igneous), Solange the banshee caliban gravedigger, Fenri the halfling cleric, and Schrödinger the human boneblade scientist.
Read more about the party's misadventures in the Dementlieuse countryside here at the Freaks & Facades blog! There's quaint villages, corrupt nobles, dueling, arson, vigilantism and riots, and lots of The Horrors!

Absolutely I'm making 3.5 homebrew stats for the Sparstones, I love this idea so much! Question, if we're going Greek myth-theme how would the myth of Galatea fit into the Sparstones lore? Is she Midas' wife/gf?
GREAT QUESTION and i hope you have fun with the idea!!! The original Sparstone post if anybody missed out for context. For my setup below, Galatea and Midas are brother and sister. (My good friend @sirkai edited this all for me)
Sparstones are living statues made by the Gorgon sisters Medusa, Sthenos, and Euryale.
Galatea, the first Sparstone, beautifully constructed using the petrified remains of history's most renounced heroes felled by Gorgon gaze, would serve as both memorial and mediator between the Gorgons and the other races. However, Galatea is haunted and disturbed by incessant vengeful demands of the dead who inhabit his body, growing cold to the world enraptured by his grace.
Before the spirits pressure Galatea into killing his Gorgon mothers, he flees to the bottom of the ocean. Tragically, seafarers who wander too close to his frozen domain drown with infatuation. Once rumination has run its course, Galatea seeks new companionship in hellish guardians built from the bodies and bones of all creatures that come to rest on the ocean's winter floor.
Tumblr media
After Galatea’s self-exile, the Gorgons construct a second Spartone, Midas, bathed in molten gold. As more Sparstones slowly integrate with society on the surface, Midas, now queen of her people, falls in love with a human named Damodice. Over the years, the wives craft a trio of heirs in symbol of their commerce: Lityerses of copper, Anchurus of silver, and Zoe of gold.
Tumblr media
Notes:
Lore is loosely based on existing Ancient Greek mythology but key concepts still remain: Midas is married to Damodice and has three children, Lityerses, Anchurus, and Zoe; and Galatea is a statue brought to life because of love.

The very second Derek walked into the cramped, dimly lit room, he struggled to maintain his composure. His eyes landing on the nerdy game board that rested on the tiny table in the center of the cramped room. Around the table stood three skinny guys along with Stiles, all of them dressed up in geeky cosplay— Stiles wore rubber elf ears.
Trying his best not to irk his boyfriend, Derek forced a smile on his face as he headed closer. “You almost done?” he asked Stiles, putting an arm around the human’s small shoulders.
Stiles, pursing his lips, shook his head. “I’m stuck at an obstacle and I don’t quite know how to defeat it,” he muttered, his eyes laser-focused on the tiny plastic figurines on the board.
Derek had never played Dungeons and Dragons before, so he was totally lost and didn’t really have much to offer his boyfriend in the way of advice. “That sucks,” he finally said, growing antsy and wanting to leave.
It was due to a combination of not having any interest whatsoever in Stiles’s fantasy game, and also because of the creepy stare he was garnering from some nerd dressed up in Halloween wizard clothes.
In fact, Derek couldn’t help but notice that the scrawny wizard’s stare was a little too intense for his liking, seeing the corners of his mouth slightly pull up to form a mischievous smirk.
“Stiles the Great,” a nerd who was dressed up in cat ears chimed, adding a fake accent to her voice, “doth thou desire’th to employ the usage of thine trusty steed?” She nodded at Derek, making him grimace.
Stiles, unfortunately, gasped loudly, indicating that he thought the nerd’s idea was a good one.
Derek’s broad shoulders fell and he knew that they’d be stuck in the cramped room for longer than he’d initially wanted.
“I run across my boyfriend, Derek the Hotness, and he uses his skills to defeat the aboleth—”
“Hold it!” the wizard interrupted, narrowing his gaze at Derek. “You can’t just add in another character midway without giving us his backstory!”
The others around the table murmured in agreement, making Stiles blush.
“Um,” he stalled as he tried to think up a backstory for Derek the Hotness, which Derek promised he’d bring up later that night, “Derek has twenty strength and—”
“What is he?” the wizard cut off again, making Derek swell down a growl.
Again, Stiles took a moment as he searched his mind for an answer, his eyes darting all over the board as he looked for an idea.
The wizard’s smirk grew even larger. “Why don’t you roll for it?” he suggested, reaching into his pockets and placing a ruby red die on the board. It shimmered under the faint light of the room, and the numbers on it had a glittery quality to it.
Stiles eagerly snatched the die off the board and shook it in his hand, even blowing on it for luck. “Fine!” he agreed. “With this die, I declare that Derek the Hotness is…” He tossed the die onto the board, letting it clatter around until it landed.
Eight.
The wizard cocked his head to the side, his smirk fully formed now. “It looks like Derek the Hotness is an orc,” he mused, snapping his fingers playfully.
At first, Derek cocked his eyebrow in wonder at the odd actions from the nerd. However, he was soon alerted to the tingling sensation that ran all over his body. His boyfriend gasped again, and Derek then noticed something terrible happening.
Holding his hands up in front of his face, Derek’s eyes widened when he saw his skin steadily darken to a greenish hue. Before he could further react, Derek tensed up as his body underwent further changes.
He couldn’t exactly see it firsthand, but all of Derek’s muscles began to inflate to obscene proportions. His arms packed on pounds of muscle, bulging with power. His chest grew to crazy proportions, tearing his shirt to shreds and further exposing his green muscles. His thighs widened and caused him to reposition his feet, his legs pushing against each other so much that his walk would now resemble something closer to a waddle. All of Derek’s muscles had pumped up, but they appeared more so for strength as opposed to aesthetic, as was evident by their rotundness and the lack of abs. Instead, his stomach had a powerlifter belly that hung over his tattered pants. Speaking of pants, the bulge in the front of them inflated and a large beer can-width snake crept down his pant leg. To top everything off, Derek’s lower jaw widened and dimples, looking large and cartoonish. His brow pushed forward, giving the hunk a brutish appearance. Finally, his lower canine teeth elongated and protruded out of his mouth, effectively giving Derek the appearance of a muscled up, dim-witted orc.
Stiles’s jaw hung low in silent shock as Derek swayed slightly to and fro.
Not understanding exactly what had just occurred, Derek shook his head and rubbed at his temples. “Uh,” he groaned, noting the much, much deeper quality to his voice, “Derek feel funny.” His eyes widened to the size of saucers, having intended to say that he felt weird, unsure as to why he’d sounded all slow and had spoken in the third person. Derek cleared his throat and tried again. “Why Derek talk funny?”
Finally, Stiles stomped forward and placed a reassuring hand on Derek’s green bicep. “Turn him back!” he ordered, narrowing his eyes at the wizard.
Derek shook his head, trying to clear it of the fog that seemed to be creeping up in it. He knew that something had definitely happened to him. However, he couldn’t stop but admire how cute his boyfriend looked and how perky his butt looked in his tight pants.
Without thinking, Derek wrapped both of his large arms around Stiles, grinding his enlarged cock against the tiny human. In his haze, Derek noticed something else. “Stiles…” he grunted in his baritone, “Stiles smaller?”
Stiles bit down on his lower lip, looking completely adorable as he did so, making Derek grind his hard cock into him even more.
The wizard continued to smirk. “Sorry Stiles the Great,” he mock-frowned, “the only way to turn him back is if you defeat the aboleth.” He gestured back down at the die.
“Fine!” Stiles shouted, snatching it back up off the board. “But let me warn you, once he’s back to regular self, I will personally kick your ass!”
[Fifteen Minutes Later]
“Yeah, sorry, I thought that I could win,” Stiles muttered, his head hanging low as he and Derek walked out of the house and towards the Jeep.
Derek lumbered as best as he could, trying hard to get the hang of waddling with his extra large, green muscles. His thighs kept rolling over one another, and his chest was so heavy that he had to arch his back in order to support his huge pecs. His muscle gut jiggled slightly with every step he took. However, his hard footlong cock waved tantalizingly in front of him, oozing precum at the sight of Stiles walking in front of him. Derek’s slowed mind struggled to piece everything together. He knew deep down that something had happened to him, but his brain was full of such lust for his tiny-looking boyfriend that it was hard to concentrate on anything else.
“Stiles cute,” he gushed in his deep voice.
“Yeah thanks, but focus, Derek!” Stiles said as soon as they reached the Jeep. “We need to go to Deaton to see if he can fix this!” He hopped into the driver’s seat and looked at his orc boyfriend expectantly.
Derek struggled to get inside the Jeep, trying to get the hang of moving his muscled body. His broadened shoulders kept banging against the sides of the door, preventing him from getting in head on. His lower IQ prevented him from immediately turning to the side until Stiles coaxed him into it. Once he was inside, his massive arms and pecs kept getting the way of him fastening his seat belt, leaving the orc struggling with the tiny strap.
Derek cocked his eyebrow in wonder as he stared down at his inflated, green pecs. “Derek has big muscles!” he gasped, his eyes widening in shock. The surprise disappeared as soon as Derek looked over at Stiles. “Stiles cute.” His hard cock bobbed in front of him in the air, twitching with want.
“Well…” Stiles mused, “maybe we can go to Deaton in the morning.”

Dread Domicile
Tumblr media
"The Dread Gazebo Updated" 3-D model by Michael Zavala under the Creative Commons license. Accessed at My Mini Factory here
[Sponsored by @balmz. "Eric and the Dread Gazebo" is a classic bit of tabletop gaming lore, which is older than I am. I haven't had this exact experience, of course, but as someone who uses a large vocabulary at the table, I have been on the receiving end of similar confusion. Rather than just make mine a gazebo, I took inspiration from the AD&D house hunter mimic.]
Dread Domicile CR 16 NE Aberration What appeared to be a gazebo reveals itself as a monster, its entrance growing a fanged maw and lashing tentacles growing around its perimeter. It has leering, dreadful eyes.
A dread domicile is a giant variant of mimic, capable of disguising itself as a whole building. Cottages, barns, sheds and gazebos are common choices for camouflage, and the dread domicile can enhance the appearance with lights, props, and even the sounds of conversation, farm animals or music. Unlike ordinary mimics, dread domiciles are typically evil—they actively hunt and eat sapient prey above all others. A number of them live in shantytowns or other rundown urban neighborhoods, where their victims won’t go missed.
Dread domiciles are slow, so they use ambush to hunt. They can feel vibrations in the ground, and so usually close their eyes until a creature has actually touched it. Their gaze causes creatures to cower in fear, so any creature that is not glued in place is usually unable to assist its allies. Glued prey is then transferred to the domicile’s mouth and swallowed whole, sequestered in a little pocket that acts as a stomach. A dread domicile will swallow multiple creatures if it can, and rapidly reshapes itself to accommodate new victims if a creature cuts its way out. Because of their low speed, a dread domicile is more likely to surrender and try to negotiate for its life than it is to flee. They collect plenty of treasure, which they use as both bait and bribes.
Variant Dread Domicile A dread vessel is an aquatic version of a dread domicile. It masquerades as a small ship, or occasionally as a raft, floating driftwood or even a whale carcass. A dread vessel is a dread domicile with the aquatic subtype, amphibious special quality, a land speed of 10 feet and a swim speed of 40 feet. A dread vessel is still a CR 16 creature.

An adhesive-covered dread domicile automatically grapples any creature it hits with its tentacle attack. Opponents so grappled cannot get free while the dreadful domicile is alive without removing the adhesive first, or if the dread domicile chooses. A weapon that strikes an adhesive-coated dreadful domicile is stuck fast unless the wielder succeeds on a DC 30 Reflex save. A successful DC 26 Strength check is needed to pry off a stuck weapon. A dread domicile can transfer a creature glued to itself in this way into its mouth with an action to maintain the grapple. Strong alcohol or universal solvent dissolves the adhesive, but the dread domicile can still grapple normally. A dreadful domicile can dissolve its adhesive at will, and the substance breaks down 5 rounds after the creature dies. The save DC is Strength-based, and the Strength check DC suffers a -4 racial penalty. Gaze (Su) Range 30 ft.; save Will DC 24; effect cower in fear 1d4 rounds. This is a fear effect, and the save DC is Charisma based. Mimic Building (Ex) A dread domicile gains a +20 racial bonus on any Disguise checks to disguise itself as a building of Gargantuan size. It can change its color and texture, and even create open spaces or lights (which radiate light up to that of a torch). Disguise is always a class skill for dread domiciles. Swallow Whole (Ex) A dread domicile reshapes itself to have a separate stomach chamber for each creature it swallows.A creature that cuts itself out of a dread domicile has a 25% chance to cut into another chamber and thus remain swallowed. A dread domicile can use its swallow whole ability even if a creature cuts its way out.

We created and released the Aboleth Hood a few months back, but one of our viewers on Twitch (go follow!) wanted a sentient version that still had the Aboleth in it. Please put this in your campaign and let us know how it goes. :) Who has a character who would wear this?
Awakened Aboleth Hood
Wondrous item, artifact (requires attunement)
“This hood was made from the hide of an ancient Aboleth. Rows of razor sharp teeth line the hood and the three eyes on top still occasionally blink. The skin of the Aboleth sometimes sweats and twitches. The hood has a long tail that reaches down to the back and will erratically sway from side to side.”
While wearing this magic item you can speak telepathically to any creature you can see. If a creature communicates with you telepathically you learn its greatest desire.
While wearing this magic item you can breathe underwater.
Beguiling Presence. You have advantage on Charisma skill checks and creatures who make saving throws to resist being charmed by you do so at disadvantage. The mind of the Aboleth also has sway over the minds of creatures charmed by you.
Precision. Before you make an attack against a creature you can choose to add +10 to the attack and damage roll. The damage of this attack becomes psychic damage. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain expended uses after a long rest.
Psychic Lash. When you score a critical hit and deal psychic damage you can manifest a psychic tendril and make a follow-up melee weapon attack. This attack has a reach of 10 feet and uses your weapon attack modifier and bonuses. It deals 3d6+10 psychic damage. Once you have used this feature you cannot use it again until you finish a short rest.
Sentience. The Awakened Aboleth Hood is a sentient lawful evil magic item with an Intelligence of 18, a Wisdom of 15, and a Charisma of 18. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
Personality. The Aboleth inside the hood has a flawless memory and has been around since before the gods molded the world as it is known today. It promises to share its ageless wisdom and dark secrets with the wearer if they help it exact revenge on whoever defeated it and fashioned it into a magic hood. The Aboleth despises the Divine and all who would worship them and stand for them.
Destroying the Aboleth. The mind of the Aboleth can be removed from the hood, but doing so will also remove some of its power. In order to expel the mind of the Aboleth it must be taken to the primordial pool in which it was spawned. If the pool is mixed with holy water and lit aflame by a spell of 6th-Level or higher that deals radiant damage, the hood can be dipped in the pool and cleansed of the Aboleth’s presence. With the mind of the Aboleth gone, this magic item loses its Sentience and Beguiling Presence properties, as well as its ability to learn the greatest desires of creatures and no longer requires attunement.
Join us on Twitch every Mon\Wed\Fri to create new Homebrews and check out our Patreon for 508+ magic items, tokens, maps, and more.

GOH: The Monsters
Gates Of Hell
Below are the creatures that appear in GOH with a little description for each. I have received a few asks about them and thought I'd put them all in one place (these will be updates as the story progresses).
[note to self: don't search scary stuff at 1am.]
taglist: @toomanyfandomsimfanvergent . @sheisjoeschateau . @kthomps914 . @curled-hair-red-lips . @nix-rose . @palmtreesx3 . @kryztalglear . @sattlersquarry . @hey-barnes-stole-a-jeep . @sadslasher13 . @iliveonteaandbooks . @innercreationflower . @newyorkangelbaby . @totally-bogus-timelady
Warnings: horror, inspired images of monsters, thalassophobia, i genuinely had to sleep with the lights on with all the research i did into these monsters
Introduced in: Part One
Demogorgons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tall, grey, and thin monsters with elongated limbs. They first appear as 'faceless' until they unfurl their flesh in a flower formation, showcasing many sharp teeth. The demogorgon is fast and strong, relying strongly on hearing to stalk its prey.
Demodogs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adolescent demogorgons, smaller in size and not unlike the stance of a dog. They carry a virus; any victims they strike (and don't kill) will be infected.
The Infected
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Normal people turned monsters from a virus spread by the demodogs. Black veins spread across their body, eventually reaching the brain and turning them feral. The last stage of the virus rips into the flesh of their face, uncurling in four pieces with scattered teeth.
Mind Flayer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An entity made up completely of black particles, its shadow representing a closeness to the appearance of a spider. The dust itself has the power to control the bodies of other monsters, both alive and dead.
Shapeshifters
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Creatures that stalk their prey, mimicking familiar voices to lure their victims. Their true form is thin with grey skin covered in dark veins, long black hair cascading down their head. They have hollow eyes and can unhinge their jaw to 'mimic'. In order to shift, they must observe their desired shape head to toe.
Rideo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Built abnormally, the creature is larger in size and most noticeable for its unsettling grin. It has immense strength and will usually focus their sights on one victim until successfully killing them.
The Green-eyed Monster
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An unknown creature found in the lab. It resembles a demogorgon but is physically larger and taller, weaponising the claws on its hands. Its most noticeable feature is the vivid green in its eyes, glowing even in the shadows.
Introduced in: Part Two
Dustwalkers
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A shadowy figure that stalks the Upside Down. When catching its victim, it can flood their body full of dust until they no longer breathe. They can not be 'killed', but once defeated they will deplete into a pile of ash on the floor.
Banshee
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pale human-like creatures that seemingly hover due to their speed, relying on sound due to their blurred vision. They have a gaping mouth that can blast a debilitating scream, the pitch enough to paralyse their victims in endless pain before death.
Aboleth
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Giant leeches restricted to large bodies of water. It drags its victims deep down and curls around it until death. It will most likely digest the corpse after.
to be continued...

There are adventures waiting for me. I know it." -Rebel Robin

The Battle of Starcourt has been won, but its aftershocks are still rippling. Separated from the rest of the Party, Will struggles with feelings of abandonment, while El is trying to find her place with the Byers and come to terms with the loss of her powers - and the closest thing she's ever had to a father. Back in Hawkins, life is slowly returning to normal, or at least as normal as life ever is. The Party are starting to adjust to having two of their members at a distance, though everyone's still missing El and Will, Mike most of all.
But life in Hawkins never stays normal for long. Someone - or something - is following Steve and Robin, and they may not be the only ones under surveillance. A spectre from El's past makes an unexpected - and unwanted - reappearance. And an old enemy may turn out to be much more than meets the eye.
And sometimes, the bad guys are smart, too.
Separated by miles and misunderstandings, with communications failing and their enemies somehow always one step ahead, Hawkins' strange little fellowship find themselves caught between holding on and moving forward. If they want to survive to see another November, they'll have to face the past - and each other.
very fun body horror fic!!!! i just love fics that interact with the upside down outside of strict canon.

“Why are you messing up my undercover operation, Steve?” Dustin said. “Do you want another tear to open up in the space-time continuum and suck us all into the Upside Down? Do you want the entire world to turn into squishy, mind-flayed zombies because you and Robin couldn’t get your shit together?”
(Or, the one where Steve and Robin go undercover in an evil suburb.)

“Steve.” Shiv lowers her voice an octave. “Steve. Calm down. Just let me see, okay?”
“I don’t want you to see.” He smacks her hands away, feels the cut of a modest rock nip at his knuckles. Wambsgans outdid himself.
“Where’d he get that?” Steve laughs, points, and Shiv’s eyes flicker to her finger like she forgot all about it. “Fuckin’ Macy’s?
“Look,” Connor says, palms up and placating. “We can point fingers at each other, or we can be honest with ourselves and blame the commies.”

in a strange land by MrsEvadneCake
Doom comes to Hawkins, Indiana. Population est. 30,000.
It’s cold, that’s all, and the breeze is kicking up. That’s why Steve feels the chill go up his spine like someone dropped an ice-cube down his back.
“Why wouldn’t I be real, El?”
“The Aboleth got you.”
i’ve absolutely rec’d this before, but i don’t even care because it’s literally one of the best st fics ever, and i need everyone in the fandom to read it.

Silly art full of dnd campaign references that only an audience of 10 will fully understand. If that, tbh. Even I don't fully understand what happened here.
--
Please don't make me do an image descriptio-
We're in the mancave of the Creature of the Deep, an Aboleth overlord of the passage of dead, aka Father or Dabby to the cool above-table kids. Reclined on a sofa that probably smells, Dabby plays the playstation with Sigrid, a monster hunter Ranger-turned-Fathomless Warlock who sports facial war paint, tribal tattoos and scars, and a t-shirt that reads Women Want Me, Fish Fear Me. She has lil pink sockies because she deserves pretty things. From Sigrid's outrage and the smug look exuding from the Aboleth's three eyes and huge toothy grin, it looks like Dabby's winning what is probably FIFA considering the green glare from the TV. Which is impressive, considering he's also smoking a joint, waving a cap that reads Kiss My Bass, spilling a bowl of crisps, dropping a Queen coin in Sigrid's drink, generally wiggling gleeful tentacles, and crushing a beer can over newly-employed Reika, a dark elf blood hunter who defends against the beer spillage while playing darts. She's looking great considering she's dead. And a werewolf. Around the room are references to the campaign including a wanted poster of everyone's favourite undead friend Qwyn, a Jaws poster (signed by Jaws of course), and a book written by Asmodeus on 'How to Win Conduits and Influence Mortals' resting on a stone table that's inscribed Property of Bardh Museum. How are you doing, listener? Had enough yet? Sit tight, about 40% more to come. A bonsai tree provides the only semblance of life in this room while a model ship with golden sails brightens up the place under an equally bright neon sign that reads 'My Cave My Rules'. Stalactites drip into buckets and make you realise just how smoky the room is and how dank and damp the walls and floor are - and is that a black humanoid cat creature peeping through a crack in the wall? Why yes it is! That's Moonlight-Through-Rain who explored some faint archway runes the last time she was having a near death experience. And by exploring I absolutely mean chipping through a wall out of curiosity rich on the hubris scale. But it's fine, since Dabby has since installed a bolt on the runic arch so there's no letting that curious kitty into the eclectic scene. There's also a rug here. Ocean colours. It doesn't have a joke, I just wanted to fill a space.

D&D 50th Anniversary - Ask a DM!
Tumblr media
Hey there friends! If you didn't know, Dungeons & Dragons came out in 1974, exactly 50 years ago this year! I for one am excited to make this a year celebrating my love of D&D and other tabletop roleplaying games!
(despite what stunts certain companies try to pull)
SO! To celebrate I (Aboleth Eye) wanted to hear from you wonderful ttrpg enthusiasts! I've been regularly playing and hosting Dungeons & Dragons since 2012 (starting and sticking with 3.5 edition), as well as a bevvy of other tabletop roleplaying games! Anything you've always wanted to know about running or playing Dungeons & Dragons? Got a story you wanna share from your own tables? How about sharing how you yourself got into the hobby (e.g. Critical Role, Stranger Things, Dimension Twenty, etc)?
Ask or Share Anything you like! DM me here at @aboleth-eye , @aboleth-workshop or tag me on Twitter!
I eagerly want to share experiences, lessons learned and recommendations with those of you who are amazing fans of ttrpgs! And while drama in the ttrpg community often brings us down, I know we're all going to be playing D&D and other games for ANOTHER 50 YEARS!
See y'all at the 100th Anniversary in 2084!
(I'm gonna be eighty and still hosting should my brain not be mush haha).
With love, Aboleth Eye

D&D 3e/3.5 Homebrew Requests!
Hi there friends! Do you like Dungeons & Dragons (specifically 3e/3.5 edition)? Do you like to read or use homebrew in your own campaigns?
Well, Aboleth Eye is happily taking requests for new homebrew ideas! They already have such a huge amount of ideas ready and free to be used! Check them out here!
Have a character option in mind you'd love to see written out with lore and abilities? A fantasy race and culture of lore? A unique class option for your players?
What about a magic item you'd love to integrate into your own campaigns?
Or, perhaps you'd love to see something fresh in the Aboleth Eye Bestiary? From behemoths to tiny little friends, all ideas welcome!
Maybe you are a Dungeon Master that wants a hook or seed for your own campaign? Something to bridge together two great ideas you already have, or a plot to introduce something new for your players?
Ideas are all welcome (within reason)! Send your requests to either @aboleth-workshop or @aboleth-eye! And let's get November rolling with new ttrpg stories!
And feel free to read all about the wondrous creatures, classes and races we've done already!
Thanks,
Aboleth Eye

F&F: First Arc Q&A!
Tumblr media
Hello friends and beloved readers! It's Aboleth-Eye, host and recapper of the amazing Ravenloft campaign Freaks & Facades! And we're doing an In-Character Q&A! Check out the question form here!
If you've somehow missed it, I've been hosting a Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition campaign set in classic Ravenloft for all of 2023. Currently the cast is in the seductive and surreptitious realm of Dementlieu. The player characters, aka the Freaks, are an amazing group of would-be adventurers and have gone through a lot in their first dip into gothic horror adventure! And we've been sharing their exploits and misadventures on a new blog! I started the recaps on this Tumblr a while back, but there were some formatting problems that arose when Tumblr changed how bullet points work. blech...
But we've persevered, and have found a different avenue to share the group's awesome adventures on This New Separate Blog! If you haven't gotten the chance, check out the story here!
And, as the story is coming close to the end of the first arc soon, and is almost caught up to the players in-game, I wanted to do a bunch of fun things once the First Arc (False Accusations) wraps up. So, we'll be posting a bunch of fun things on there and here once the arc recaps finish in December. So We're Planning An In-Character Q&A!
If there's anything you've wanted to ask our Freaks/Player Characters (see here for their bios), or even their Players themselves, send your asks through this new Google Form, or DM us directly at either @aboleth-eye or @freaks-and-facades-ravenloft!
Questions can be put to specific Freaks Characters, about their backstories, abilities, character builds, anything!
You can also ask something of all the Freaks together!
and/or the Players and Host (aka lil' ol' me Aboleth Eye)!
Questions can be made anonymous if you wish! Just keep things PG-13 please!
There is soooo much to talk about with this campaign, and the Freaks each have a lot of thought put into their stories, motivations and relationships. Like all D&D players, we are excited to overshare about our characters and campaign!
Hope to hear from you guys!
Love, Aboleth Eye!

Spoilers for s1 episode 47-rest of the podcast
I headcannon that after the trial when the timeline swapped Nicholas had the worst fucking headaches, like it was someone trying to break out of a glass box but they couldn't because it was like 50 layers of bullet proof glass and it would not go away. Him being knocked out from the Guards at the prison didn't help either I only made it worse. When his dad and the rest of the group went to talk to the warden, it died down, but when that weed smoking, no good, law breaking, dangerous son of bill close of a man, Glenn showed back up it started hurt even more than last time. Then when they escaped it hurt worse. When he wasn't around Glenn it didn't hurt as bad. But he comes after him with the rest of the dads behind him and it starts back up again, then when we swapped bodies, that was weird. The entire time Glenn was in his dads body and his dad was in Glenn's his brain didn't know who it really was, my headache lessened during that. He won't know why but seeing his dad is Glenn's body felt the wrong kind of right. Something he was sure was false but deep down somewhere behind 50 layers of bullet proof glass it felt true. But then everyone switched back and it started up again, when he got swallowed by the aboleth he was knocked unconscious, he could hardly see it but there was a crack, he could hardly see it but there was a face just like his on the other side, it looked so vastly different, yet the same. He watched as the crack grew larger, and larger, his reflection watched with an excitement, one he didn't know, he was scared, confused, how long had he been there, had there been headache earlier in the adventure, had his mirror always been there, then the glass shattered, he remembers the comforting sound of Glenn voice when he had a rough day, he remembers sitting there with him watching face/off after school. He remembers playing Call Of Duty and prestigeing twice. He remembers he wanted to go into the bull-e-wugs fighting ring not because Glenn said his dad- Jodie wanted him to but that he wanted to impress Glenn. He remembers not remembering the highs he and Glenn have had together. And he remembers being trapped in his own skull wanting to break free and tell his dad that he's not alone. For 18 years glenn was locked away. Alone except for the rat he weirdly named after Nick. He remembered feeling hopelessness when they were locked away by mark. And he remembers the absolute confusion they shared together when they swapped.
And when nick opens his eyes he sees a SHIT TON OF LIGHT and the silhouette of what he knows true to be Glenn, the smell of weed very barely making it past the smell of aboleth stomach acid. The strong burly left arm, the stench of being locked up for 18 years with no shower.
Almost like it is natural instinct nick says
"I'm ready..."
"READY FOR THE BIG RIDE BABY!"
