not my usual fare but i was writing stuff and looking up random things on wikipedia as one does and i stumbled upon lisi harrison’s wiki page and ..i just never fully appreciated the wit of her titles as a child like something about novel titles (and episode titles) that riff off existing media just scratches a particular itch in my brain and it makes me happy idk lol

OKAY BUT DO YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THE PJO BOOKS ARE cuz I really hope that this tv series becomes a jumping off point for kids with ADHD and dyslexia and other ND stuff to finally find a book series they love, not just because I loved it myself but because ND kids deserve to fall in love with books!!!

My brother is a genius, super smart guy I am so proud of him every single day, but he was always so behind in school because his dyslexia went undiagnosed for ages (my whole family’s dyslexic but his is the worst case by far) and compared to me who was a complete book worm my whole life, he had NOTHING to love in books because every time he read them, he just struggled over and over again. He had given up on books, learning, everything because no books spoke to him and made him WANT to keep trying. Jump cut to me introducing him to the PJO book series!! I was probably ranting about them because I was just an AuDHD girlie hyperfixating and I don’t even remember how I convinced him to read it but you know what happened when DID start reading it??? HE NEVER STOPPED! THAT HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND IT WAS SO EXCITING FOR MY FAMILY (MY MOM IS LITERALLY A READING SPECIALIST FOR KIDS SHE WAS SO FUCKING STOKED) THAT THEY GOT HIM THE PJO BOX SET FOR CHRISTMAS AND THAT IS THE MOST WELL-LOVED, YELLOW-PAGED, FALLING APART AT THE SEAMS BOX SET IN OUR HOUSE FULL OF BOOKS BECAUSE MY BROTHER AND I KEEP READING THEM!!!!

I WANT THE SAME FOR THIS NEW GENERATION OF KIDS!! I WANT SOME OF THESE GEN ALPHA BABIES TO STUMBLE UPON THE SHOW, WATCH IT, PICK UP THE BOOKS, AND HAVE A COME TO JESUS MOMENT JUST LIKE MY BROTHER DID BECAUSE THAT’S WHY THEY’RE SO IMPORTANT!!! BECAUSE THERE IS A BOOK SERIES (SEVERAL EVEN) THAT SPEAKS SO WELL TO THE KIDS THAT HAVE GIVEN UP ON LISTENING

Things we know:

Not all men in the Pit Babe universe are alphas

Babe and Charlie are both men

When talking about how he and Charlie couldn't have kids together, Babe says that they're both alphas NOT that they're both men

Therefore even if they don't commit to the bit fully and Babe doesn't get knocked up in the series, mpreg does canonically exist in the universe the show takes place in, just not (usually) between alphas, because if it didn't, Babe would have said that they are both men not that they're both alphas.

once again being plagued by omega winner thoughts so i’ll make it everyone’s problem:

kim jokingly calls winner a puppy (something about being an oversized overexcited puppy to be exact) and is shocked to feel the way winner’s scent spikes so sweetly so from then on he teases him by calling him that. but when he has winner plopped on his lap riding him for dear life as he goes “come on, puppy, cum for me”, he has to admit he’s no longer joking.

winner also has an abnormally long heat (i mean that’s what you get for being on suppressants for like 10 years i guess) so kim has to tap out and get some help, he does stay around because winner is more comfortable with him there (and he has grown to enjoy the cuddles - not that he would admit it). there’s also the fact that the others don’t take to winner as quickly as he did so they do help him but it’s very idk cold/impersonal i guess? so kim is also there to provide kisses when necessary (again, he will not admit to enjoy those)

sonic does stay over when north is fucking winner and he also feels drawn to form a cuddle pile when they’re done (pregnant sonic seeking comfort from other omegas? who said that?)

Chapter 6

“Why do you keep the creature? It almost killed us.” 

She waved him away. “She would never kill you. We only keep Daisy to protect us.” She motioned towards the Cthulhu and my mouth dropped open. 

“That’s a her? And you named her Daisy?”

Hagridcore. 

I was wearing guy clothes, again, and no bra. One of these days when I had time, I was going to invent a bra that stayed on when I shifted. 

The first thing that came into mind was “if a wolf wore a bra, would it look like this? Or like this?” And I’m not even quite sure what either of the options would look like, but you know that it would be silly. 

“Garrett is out of control. He’s killed two wolves who tried to challenge him.”

At this point, they should simply put him down for the safety of the pack. How many more werewolves is he going to murder?

Suddenly the sound of whirling blades cutting the air was overhead. I looked up to see three helicopters approaching the island and I knew that Sophia hadn’t waited for us to come back home. She was bringing the fight to us.

Chapter 6 summary: They fight off the Cthulhu some more. I’m not going to lie; I skipped over most of this part, since it was kind of pointless in the long run. Eventually, a female wolf shows up and calls off the monster. They guess that this is Emma, the wolf who married a dragon, and she agrees. 

In Emma’s house, Liz uses the phone to finally call Shayne, something that she’s been putting off since they got to Hawaii. He’s kind of angry that this is her first contact after ordering him to submit to her alpha, but goes on to say the news. First, Garrett killed two other wolves who were plotting to rise up against him, but he did it in their beds and blamed Liz. The pack doesn’t know what to think about that, since Liz isn’t around to defend herself. Then, Garrett has torn apart her parents’s house as well as her apartment. Liz knows that he’s searching for her mom’s necklace, but doesn’t tell him this. Finally, that Aaron is going to get married tomorrow. 

When she hangs up, she finds that Christian is awake; he’d fallen into a deep sleep after healing everybody after the first round. Liz tells him that they’re with Emma and her six (7?) kids, all dragons. William, her husband, disappeared after going on a supply run. The story is that some council didn’t want them to marry, and got angry when they came out and said that all of their children were dragons. They were forced into seclusion, and Daisy the Cthulhu is their “guard dog”. 

Back with the others, they tell Liz that Sophia is upset about Easton’s “book of shadows” being destroyed, and called them back so that they can “face trial”. However, they know that this is her paper-thin excuse of gaining control back over the males. She obviously never expected for them to actually find this hypothetical dragon/wolf couple, let alone proof that dragon/wolves only produce dragon babies. None of the boys want to go back, and they look to Liz to see what she wants to do. Especially in light of hearing the news of what’s going on with her pack. Liz says she wants to stay with her dragon boys, train, and go take down Garrett. The dragons are with her 100%. 

The book comes to a close with a helicopter showing up. They know that this is Sophia, coming to try and regain control over the males.
