Lets say jaune did drink the posion in ruby's stead would he come out himself like ruby or choice to be erased and replaced by somone he thinks can help better?
I think he’d come out himself
After all, the Blacksmith’s whole thing is that she wants everyone who meets her to be the best version of themselves, whether they think that’s who they deserve to be or not
Ruby didn’t think she wanted to be Ruby anymore, because she thought she was failing to be Summer. But by seeing that she could just be HERSELF, she is getting to be the best version of Ruby
If Jaune reached the Blacksmith in full Rusted Knight mode, having finally lived up to Pyrrha “dying for him” (she didn’t, but god this boy has survivor guilt), finally being “punished” for killing Penny, then I think the Blacksmith would help him see that those things weren’t because of HIM
And he’d end up choosing to stay as himself

comet, today im thinking about how in general ghost fanon, there's a place for the water ghouls (the lake), and the garden/greenhouse for earth ghouls, and the infirmary for quintessence ghouls
perhaps an argument could be made that the air ghouls love the roof
but there doesn't seem to be a place for fire ghouls
i think dewdrop deserves a forge
he would probably have a coal forge rather than a gas forge and i think he wouldn't need tongs to hold onto the steel bc he can handle extreme heat
but i think it could be extremely zen for him to have a place to just go and let some steam off and hit hot metal while he thinks
he likes the solitude, the rhythm he can get into, hearing the anvil sing when he hits the metal just right, being able to tell intrinsically when the forge needs to be fed, when the metal is the perfect temperature
he loves how malleable the steel is, how just a few taps of the hammer in the correct spots can shape it so drastically
i think perhaps he has made something for each of the ghouls
it took him a long time to warm up to phantom, but after tour, dew disappeared out to the forge for a couple days and returned with a little knife with a bat wing hilt to present to him
idk maybe this is projection bc i too love hitting hot metal but i really think dewdrop needs a forge
also bonus: the other ghouls love when he comes back from the forge all sweaty and smelling like hot metal, coal dust flecking his skin
9 times out of 10, someone is jumping his bones before he makes it to a shower to clean off
-🐌
i keep forgetting to sign these oops
WAIT WAIT WAIT Oh no. The way my jaw dropped as I read this. BLACKSMITH DEW? Why have I never thought of blacksmith Dew? Your BRAIN IS HUGE. He absolutely has made something for everyone. In some cases, several somethings. I think it's a great place for his brain to turn off. For him to let some frustration out. I also think he likes how surprised people are when he tells them about it the first time. That little ghoul? A blacksmith? Aren't all blacksmiths big and giant and strong? Dew loves to thwart expectations. He also really loves making pretty things for people he loves. Now you've got me thinking about what kinds of things he's made for his pack mates (throwing knives for Aurora, much to everyone else's dismay).

Hello! I just wanted to say your art is gorgeous and I love the attention to detail you give to your work! This royal au is scrumptious and I'm so grateful you shared it with us! Second, for Jean's role, I was wondering what you thought about making him a blacksmith? It would make him useful for Riko without having any power (not a guard, etc.)but also give a reason for Jeremy to seek him out (and get swept off his feet), perhaps once he's escaped and is in Palmetto. Feel free to ignore tho!😊
IGNORE THE MENTAL IMAGE OF BIG POWERFUL BLACKSMITH JEAN MOREAU? SAFE IN THE UNNAMED TROJAN KINGDOM, BULKING UP AND FEELING ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE WORK OF HIS HANDS??? I WILL NOT
I’ve been really invested in the idea of the “perfect court” now that we’re in a royal au, and since Kevin and Riko were both technically royalty, Nathaniel was/had the potential to be a noble, I think Jean should also be high end?? Like while at Evermore they all have different duties right, maybe Jean was an attendant to Riko or something. Whatever he was there, we know he wasn’t treated well. Probably not allowed to pursue his own interests, just like everyone else.
But Kevin and Nathaniel both escape, and they find new jobs that fulfill them. So Jean should as well!! He gets to the Trojan kingdom, probably with the help of Renee still (which is. A whole thing about politics and family lines in this au strangely enough) and he doesn’t have to be a noble anymore if he doesn’t want to. He’s probably already renounced his nobility in the way he left Evermore. I don’t doubt Jeremy, who I’m imagining as another prince because that’s the image my brain gave me, would hesitate to reinstate him as Trojan nobility if Jean asked (as long as it’s far enough down the timeline obviously). Instead, Jean kind of slides under the radar, and once he’s all settled he finds work in the smithy. And he really enjoys it! He feels stronger and healthier and he gets to make such amazing things, he doesn’t even have to make weapons if he doesn’t want to. The workers all choose their own specialties and jobs, filling in gaps as needed
Then one day the royal family or the prince is making rounds, coming to see how things are running, and Jeremy is kind of wondering if he’s seen this blacksmith before? Like he’s pretty sure that’s a familiar face, but he definitely would have remembered seeing someone like him around the kingdom before now, so he brushes it off.
(Really he’s seen Jean Moreau at summits and other large gatherings, only once or twice. Back when Jean was much less healthy and when he still tried to make himself smaller to fit into Riko’s shadow. So yes he recognizes the face; but this is a much different man than the person he saw across grand halls.)
And for my lovely jerejean enjoyers: if Jean ends up talking to or in close proximity of the prince, for whatever reason? Jeremy can definitely blame his red cheeks on the heat of the forges 💫

It's wild to me prior to this volume people joked about "therapy island", but when met with it don't seem to understand what Ever After has been on the whole?
Being your best self, and for Afterans fulfilling your purpose, has been there from the start. The Blacksmith outright said "The only thing that can happen to you here is what you want to happen the choice of what you become and where you end up is yours to make.... You don't know what you want, do you?" Everything they ask is not a judgement of Ruby, but a clarification of intent and goals. Some people have been real literal with the weapons, but their manifestation seems to come from Ruby "Weapons are extensions of ourselves" Rose. It is both a reflection of her, and being a Huntress.
In Herb's visions (which we know are connected to the tree and the leaves), they were all confronted with their old selves, which they'd all grown from. And it can be hard to here who you once were saying you can go back, more so if you're like Ruby and view your current self as a failure who is worse off than in the past while everyone else believes they are better.
In the Punderstorm they all had to face something they unconsciously or not want to address. Jaune tells them they can just wait it out and keep moving forward so they do, him never acknowledging his younger self and Penny, Weiss taking a moment to see Atlas fall but choosing to walk away, and Ruby trying so hard to focus on the task and her friends she doesn't see Summer. Even if they want to address their problems, they aren't ready in that moment. You can't force people to address things when they aren't ready (hence Ruby's breakdown later). The bees were never forced to confess either since, again, this was something they both WANTED to talk about even if Yang was scared and Blake was going to wait until she was ready. Sometimes there's no good moment, and sometimes you're already falling off that cliff so you might as well embrace it.
The Cat, while being unreliable in their intentions, never seems to have lied about more general aspects of Ever After and Ascension. It is a good thing for Afterans that is both a death and not. The heart still remembers even if they change into something else and change their purpose, something we get to see later with the Genial Gems. You can rebuild not only yourself, but rebuild from the ashes (or flood) of a destroyed home (Weiss).
"And how would you measure 'enough'?"
"Enough" for Ruby has always been living up the the idea of Summer. To Ruby, being Ruby was never going to be enough. Ascension for Ruby is finding out who SHE is, not necessarily making a choice to change. The choice to reaffirm who you are and that you are enough is always a choice. That Ruby Rose has been, and will always be enough. That the burden that needs to be laid down is the one you've (understandably) placed on yourself out of the idea of who your mother was.
"What is it to 'Ruby Rose'?"

Okay so...
Given that the Blacksmith never introduces herself as "The Blacksmith", the fact that she was shown carving wooden figures in her workshop, and how The Girl Who Fell Through the World featured a character known as "The Lively Carpenter" who Team RWBY never actually encounters, what are the odds that the Lively Carpenter was just what Lewis called the Blacksmith?
After all, we only see her blacksmithing when communicating with RWBY. Who's to say she wouldn't perform OTHER creative tasks when speaking to different people?
So this is interesting one because on the one hand, I'm inclined to agree simply out of process of elimination, ie; the Blacksmith is kinda the only character we see in the Ever After left who could be 'The Lively Carpenter', and has just enough in common with that description to fit.
But on the other hand... we know that Alyx met with the Blacksmith, however do we know if LEWIS ever met her? It's entirely possible that he could have gone through the Ever After and returned to Remnant without being offered Ascension.
One note that particularly stands out to me is how Ruby clearly DOESN'T recognize the Blacksmith upon first meeting her in the marketplace. Ruby KNOWS the story of The Girl Who Fell Through the World, so if the Blacksmith is, or rather was the inspiration for, the Lively Carpenter, shouldn't Ruby have had at least made some connection?

Hi I just saw your post about blacksmiths.
I am writing a story where my mc is a girl in early 20s who's training to be a blacksmith. So I wanted to ask if there are any gear you wear on your hands for protection?
Some people I know wear leather gloves when they smith to avoid getting burned. I prefer to work without gloves, as do most blacksmiths, but I wear them occasionally when I have a cut on my hand that I don't want to get infected, or if I burn myself/almost burn myself I get kinda freaked out and put on gloves for the rest of the time I'm working for that day. Most blacksmiths don't recommend wearing any sort of gloves, since it can get you too accustomed to picking up metal that would be way too hot to handle with just your bare hands. All in all, i think it comes down to your characters comfort level and what experience they've got.

Blacksmith was the only Tails Sonic hasn't placed the "No explosives" rule on, mostly because he didn't think that he would be able to figure it out.
Unknown to Sonic, Blacksmith already had Greek Fire, as well as a rudimentary form of dynamite made already. He was just much better at hiding his arsonist tendencies than the rest of his counterparts
The moment Sonic finds out, those explosives actually do come in handy in defending the kingdom so he really can't ban Smithy from making them XD

Completely self indulgent post but here's one of the post-canon scenarios I have in my head for G Gundam.
Maybe skip this post if you don't like dark themes. Not all of what I've outlined is dark (most of it isn't), but I do cross the line past what appears in the show in regards to DG cells and abduction.
The shuffles all get roped into restoration projects on Earth between the 13th and 14th gundam fights, partially to have something to do alongside their training, partially out of inspiration by the common points of the Kasshus' and Master Asia's goals, and partially because netting their countries some decent publicity is likely to earn them favors during the Gundam Fight's off-years.
Sai is contacted by Kyral about an effort to clear out the infamous buildup of trash and cadavers on Everest; he wants Sai to leverage Neo China's help as something of a reparation kind of deal and Sai goes sure why not.
Sai recruits Argo because Bolt Gundam is built to withstand the cold, and he thinks Argo and Nastasha could help reverse engineer that quality to enable the use of their Gundams as both heavy work equipment and protection from the harsh environmental conditions that normally prevent this kind of operation.
George gets involved because someone he knows has a distant relative who died on the mountain a century ago, and they wanted him to check in with the forensics team on the project. This detail is important because eventually it becomes clear that there is a mystery to solve (that I myself haven't figured out all the details of yet but broadly know the setup and conclusion); DG-infected people are disappearing and not being investigated due to stigma. Our heroes are naturally going to be pissed about this, and will need an "in" with the field if they want to do anything about it.
First massively self-indulgent element: The forensics/body identification team inexplicably includes the real-world author Kathy Reichs, who somehow exists in this universe, and there's a little side bit about her having written a Bones book right before the 12th fight that featured a cooked cadaver found inside a gundam after entry into the Earth's atmosphere. There are a lot of weird coincidences in the book that parallel the DG incident, which creeps everyone out, but the similarities are merely born of the writer threading the needle of being believable and interesting in a way that became very true to life.
What does become relevant is when the Shuffles eventually meet up, she's able to explain the implications of a bunch of weird shit the fighters discovered (also Marie Louise read her book, and one of the in-universe liberties Reichs took writing about the gundams' black boxes that she explains in the afterword leads to ML realizing something important; that Neo Germany does not have its gundam's remains.)
While the Everest project is happening, Domon, Chibodee, and Allenby all want to continue their training somewhere on Earth, and receive a proposal from (an OC of mine who is) a historic preservationist (and an acquaintance of Allenby's): she has acquired the grounds of an abandoned castle in Europe* after submitting a plan to restore it, and needs to hire people to help with the labor.
*the castle is probably somewhere in Germany because I also want this pitch to have drama over Schwarz (pre-13th fight), Schwarz (Kyoji), and Schwarz (the next guy who was supposed to inherit the mask when the older ninja retired). Also Germany is fucking pretty.
In exchange for the help of the three gundam fighters, they and Rain get paid, plus room and board anywhere on the grounds, plus full access to the grounds and miles of sparsely-inhabited countryside for training purposes, and the privacy and ability to practice with their gundams that comes with being in the middle of fucking nowhere. Rain sets herself up to work a clinic in the next town over as well as practicing pro re nata wilderness medicine (I'm convinced every medic supporting the gundam fight would need to be able to do this.)
The group involved in the Castle project sticks around for a time, makes some good progress, and engage in occasional Shenanigans that come up when you put a bunch of weirdos in a Situation.
They aren't in town a lot save for Rain, but when they are they eventually start to pick up on gossip and news about the Mysterious Disappearances correlated with DG cell infection (as well as details that turn out to be important later). Eventually Rain brings this to Domon and Chibodees' attention and they decide that, yeah, this is tied to the DG, this is their problem, they should convene with the rest of the Shuffle Alliance about it.
Also of course Schwarz is involved because I'm the one writing this; the culprits' DG-tissue harvesting operation relies on having him captured and helpless, using cells from his body to "update" other victims' DG infections to a less aggressive strain. One thing I haven't decided is whether I want a reinstantiated Wong to head this shit, or make up my own morally bankrupt opportunistic asshole looking to twist the DG to their own benefits. I also need to decide where on the planet the center of all this insanity is, and it needs to be a place that isn't going to have any unfortunate implications (because that's a genuine risk with dark story elements)
... That's about as much as I have that is thought-out enough for me to explain. I return to thinking about this scenario a lot because it puts most of the characters way out of their element (and has a bunch of details that appeal to me specifically), and it kind of evolved into an incomplete plot outline that I don't currently have any plans to flesh out.
I think it's an interesting enough direction to go, because it follows through with a lot of the themes present in G, but takes advantage of the genre shift to avoid DBZ-crazy power scaling and adjusts the conflict more to a matter of where the main characters' prowess is most effective (Both in and out of the gundams. I'm assuming there are a ton of guys similar to Michelo's gang that just need fighting interspersed with everything else I described. In fact, kicking Some Group of Douchebags out of their protection racket is probably how team Castle even gets ahold of evidence related to missing persons.)

So, Romance isn't really a focus of the AEBMO au, so I'm doing Crocea coming back in general.
~~~~~
The Group stepped through the door, into the odd chamber in which the Blacksmith Resides.
Said Blacksmith was holding tongs, letting a far, far smaller figure hammer out something on an anvil, before they held a finger up to the group.
After a few more minutes the Blacksmith handed the stout form the tongs, letting it dunk what seemed like half a Sword into a cooling bath.
Blacksmith: This is your best yet young one. For now, we have guests we should attend to.
Turning to the group, The little one looked shocked - then sprinted over to them, peeling off the smithing gear.
Alyx rushed forward, hair tied into a thick braid trailing behind her, tears streaming down her face as she slammed into Jaune's waist - it was as high as she could reach on him.
Alyx: Knight! I- I'm So sorry *Sobbing* I-*HIC* I- *HIC*
Jaune: ALYX! Alyx! I should've- I'm Sorry too - how are you- why are you-
Blacksmith: The Curious Cat had attempted to end her, but Alyx is a wily young girl, and, even if she learned her lesson, she had not lost her instincts, and managed to come here. As for why she's here - whenever she tried to leave, she would simply walk back into this place. I've been teaching her blacksmithing. She would like to give you something back.
Jaune: What-
Alyx: Crosh More! or, whatever it's name is! I've been trying to forge him again - But They're not letting me do more than half a sword!
Jaune: Uh, any reason why?
Blacksmith: Well, I couldn't very well Replace Him. I need what you have of him.
Jaune: *Pulling the Half-Blade from his sheathe* This?
Blacksmith: Yes.
Jaune: *handing Crocea over* Will he be Different?
Blacksmith: Are you the same after all you've been through?
Jaune: ... I'll love him all the same.
Blacksmith: That's just what I thought I would hear. Alyx, We'll need your Dagger.
Alyx: Okay?
The Blacksmith and Alyx took the piece they had, Melting down the dagger, heating the unfinished ends of Crocea and the sword they had been working one. The blacksmith pressed the open ends together, Pressing the molten Dagger into cracks, filling any missing chips with it.
Then there Crocea was. Whole again, a small, carbon-steel chunk in it's side, branching throughout the blade.
Jaune: ... Hey ... You in there buddy?
Crocea Mors:
Jaune: ...
Crocea Mors: ... I don't know that I can call you kid anymore, Jauney.
Jaune: Crocea! *Crying again* Buddy!
Crocea Mors: *forms to Human* Yep! Though, You seem a little worse for wear. I'm sorry I couldn't save you from this fate.
Blacksmith: And that Brings me to my second item. An old ... Friend ... Gave me something to hold onto for yourself.
Jaune: What is it? *Youngifies* W-wait! I! I'M Young again!
Jaune: ... Is this what my voice sounded like?
~~~~~
Stepping through the portal, five Weapons, five Wielders, and a Girl the Fell through the World walked into the Vacuan Desert. A new lease on life, and eyes once again fresh, full of hope, they looked upon the fruits of their labor.
All four kingdoms (Or what was left of Atlas) Stood united.

for the five or whatever many things meme/prompt...whatever:
the story of how dean completely accidentally becomes the top dog of their prison block and how winner somewhat accidentally becomes his bitch
I'm making this a space prison AU because thinking about real prison just makes me sad dfkgdfgd
setting-wise this is inspired by The Salvation Gambit but garbled because I'm going off of memory of having read it once.
Background plot-wise, things are similar to Pit Babe, just, you know, space-ified. Babe champions a local star-system racing circuit, Tony deals in interstellar human trafficking (I'm going with "special alpha powers are a human thing"), Kenta is an android (I have so many thoughts about android Kenta to share later), and Dean and Winner are on the same shuttle, post-series, getting shipped off to the nearest prison planet. Winner spends the entire trip bragging about how his family is sooo wealthy, he'll get a retrial and be out of there in no time, and "maybe if you kiss my boots I'll think about helping you out." Which just pisses Dean off, but whatever.
But, there's an unexpected change of plans, and their shuttle gets hijacked by a massive, unsanctioned prison ship run by a sentient, megalomaniacal AI that views itself as the prisoners' god of redemption. They're not just prisoners now, they're captives, and nobody ever escapes this ship. Not that this is going to stop them from trying—they're both pilots after all. They're each given a "welcome kit" and then dropped into a hallway where they're immediately jumped by a trio of scavengers. Winner, as always, cowers after a single hit, but Dean—he may be small, he may be new, but he's angry and he's willing to hurt people, and he fights them off until they're rescued by another, friendlier group.
They get taken to this group’s quadrant for the night, and they’re given the recruitment speech, "we grow our own fresh food, we've got weapons," but they've also got boring rules that Winner isn't interested in living by. And if these people are desperate enough to recruit newbies, it means there's bound to be better things elsewhere in the ship. Dean on the other hand is a little taken-in by being pampered and told what an asset he'd be, and he's a little annoyed by Winner's assumption that Dean would just follow him wherever. Especially when Dean is starting to realize he could actually take Winner in a fight, so who actually needs who here? They argue, Winner storms off, and then Dean has a "goddamnit" moment of realizing this ship is bigger than he can even fathom, and the only familiar face onboard is about to disappear, possibly for good. And Winner is a better pilot than him, which still makes him Dean's best chance of ever seeing daylight again. They need each other. So he grabs what he can from the little room they'd been set up in and sulks off after Winner.
From there, the two of them make their way through the different quadrants of the ship, trying to learn the ins-and-outs so they can hatch their escape plan. They get a change of clothes that removes the "fresh meat" target on their backs. They have a "and there was only one blanket" moment on one of the colder levels. And they never cease to be amazed at just how expansive the ship is, and what kind of life people have built for themselves after having been trapped here for generations. They visit a market on a central level that has live music going on—the loud and pulsing sort that gets Dean stripping his jacket off and joining the crowd of dancers because he's been desperate to let loose. Winner prowls along the edge of the crowd, until he gives in to the heated looks that Dean keeps shooting his way and joins him in a dance that's mostly just the two of them grinding their hips against each other. And then there’s Dean grabbing Winner by the wrist and dragging him off to somewhere more private.
Winner is big and good at giving mean looks that intimidate most people, but Dean's the real scary one (he will bite your fingers off). Their goal is finding people who would be useful in figuring out an escape plan, but they end up amassing a small gang of recent intakes, and they hole up in one of the surveillance dead-zones of the ship. And Dean has never felt more useful or needed. The thing is, Winner still has family on the outside. He has something to lose if they never make it out of here. But Dean has already lost everything, and sometimes the thought that he might never see X-Hunter again is almost a relief. Like he doesn't have to face up to the past. He wonders if it would really be so bad to stay. But all it takes is a "No wonder you're such a shitty racer if you'd give up on it before you even got started," to remind Dean that they're still in a prison, and there's things on the outside that he wants to do. But he still gives Winner the cold shoulder for a whole day after that comment.
One last thing is Winner does eventually grow the tiniest spine and attack someone when they try carrying Dean off during a fight because he panics at the thought of something happening to Dean. Of course this is immediately followed up by a show of emotional constipation and “Maybe don’t be such a dead weight next time,” because it is still Winner.

Has the Blacksmith ever tried to intervene on the CstsvDogs au?
It’s complicated
The Blacksmith is, by her own admission, not omniscient. She knows about things that HAVE happened, but not things that WILL happen (much like her “grandchild” Jinn). So when Jaune arrives in the past, she has no idea what is about to happen to him
As the relationship goes on, however, I can see her trying to intervene, in her own way. The Ever After is made to heal things, fixing things is her purpose, so to stand by and watch CC break the Rusted Knight goes against everything she stands for
She has a much more nuanced view of the obvious abuse as well, since she has knowledge of Remnant. So she isn’t as naive about the relationship as CC is. She knows this is wrong
All that being said, the Blacksmith is by design a passive part of the Ever After. Her purpose is to fix things, true, but it’s not in her nature to step in and change things. That’s why the Brothers were necessary, after all
So I think she’d only try to intervene after things get truly dire. Like after CC cuts Jaune’s hair, for example, because that’s the first time the cat forces Jaune to confirm to their idea of their Sunshine
Not healing him, hurting him. Breaking him. And that is so against the cat’s purpose that the Blacksmith steps in
Or tries to at least
Jaune’s not really in the correct headspace after that to see her as anything other than a stress/panic induced hallucination. But he at least gets an hour or so respite from the cat before the Blacksmith is forced back to the tree

so whos the bad bitch who knocked up papa khan
okay ive had this in my inbox for AGES and I wanted to answer it seriously but I didn't have any art I liked but now I DO so........
Tumblr media
This is Mǐn (full name Sūn Mǐn) and he IS the bad bitch who got that warlord pregnant. Though actually, this drawing isn't quite accurate because this is what he looks like in the 2280s but still.
Mǐn is a quick-witted but kind of reckless merchant who worked under the shadow of the NCR during the 2240s and traded goods between the Republic and what was formally known as "Free California" (land in California not controlled by the NCR which by 2281 no longer exists). He met the Khans after the NCR closed a checkpoint due to "raider activity" Mǐn got sick of waiting and broke through himself. He'd heard rumours that the Khan's new leader was willing to trade with caravans not affiliated with the NCR and intended to capitalise on that.
After a rough introduction (some of the Khans wanted to rob him anyway and gave him that scar on his chin) Mǐn got introduced to Papa and Regis (both of whom were enthusiastic about getting some real trade deals) and well. one thing led to another lol
Tumblr media
Here's a rough design of one of his caravans,, subject to change.
Anyway Mǐn didn't find out he had a son in the Khans until 2 years later but after the initial shock wore off he found that he loves this kid very much and showers him with gifts and attention whenever he visits. Sūn actually lived with Mǐn for a few years when he was 13 after Papa got worried that being a Khan would put Sūn in danger. Sūn hated the caravan life though and returned to the Khans eventually, though he and Mǐn write letters to each other fairly regularly.
