Home again. It's changed, but it's still home. Since I preached just yesterday morning about not letting a holiday get in the way of your consistency in your own training, I visit my old stomping grounds yesterday. There's a lot of history within these walls. My brother and I took taekwondo lessons here in the early 90's when it was Atlas Gym (later Atlas Fitness). I began lifting weights here in 2012. Long story short, at the tail end of 2014, it was sold and the gym became the first Powerhouse on Staten Island in about 20 years. Team Real began as a sports training facility on the second floor. Not long before the gyms reopened in New York City, the gym changed hands one more time, with @teamrealusa expanding from the top floor to the rest of the building. Chris gave the place a nice, new paint job, and even some much needed new equipment. But the environment is still as hardcore as it was during the Atlas days.
