“Are… are you okay?” – you asked approaching the guy sitting on a bench. He was clearly sobbing. You had seen many bystanders ignore him due to his funky cowboy outfit. You couldn’t ignore him as your mind kept being drawn to him. Gently extending your hand, you touched his shoulder. It startled him. Making him turn jumpy to you, looking in shock at you. Now you had a good view of his face. – “Are you alright?” – you asked again.
He wiped a hand aggressively over his face. Clearing his throat afterwards, puffing his chest a bit up. – “I… I had something in my eye.” – he answered trying to sound confident. – “Okay.” – you replied not wanting to hurt his pride, although there was nothing wrong with a good cry. You already turned half away, not sure what more you could do.
You were about a few steps away from him when he got up. – “Wait!” – he called out making you stop. He came jogging over, the ruffles on his shirt waving with his movement. – “You… you came over to me?” – he said.
His expression made you unsure what he meant by that. – “Yes…” – you replied hesitant. He started to smile. A bit too energetic. – “You came to me… on your own… you a girl!” – he expressed overjoyed. It made you frown at him. – “Was that… wrong?” – you questioned not sure anymore. The man grabbed you by your shoulders tight, shaking his head. – “No, no not at all.” – he spoke.
“You see Barbie never comes over to me. It is always me going up to see her.” – he explained with a few hand gestures. – “Barbie?” – you cut in confused. – “Yes Barbie.” – he answered a bit bitsy, wanting to gush more about Barbie. You weren’t listening much further as you tried to work your brain over it.
“Are… are you talking about Barbie from Mattel?” – you asked with a quizzable brow. The man tilted his head confused at you. – “What’s a Mattel?” – he wanted to know. – “Barbie!” – you said loud, arguing with him about it. The man laughed chuckles. – “No Barbie is Barbie.” – he said dreamy.
He continued to gush about Barbie and how he sort of lost her. You tried to follow with his story, but it seemed very odd. Till you got an intrusive thought. – “Wait are you Ken?” – you shouted holding your hand up. The man went silent, blinking confused at you. – “You… you know me.” – he said in a sweet tone. Your eyes went wide before you laughed. Laughs quickly dying out when he stared all serious at you.
“Sorry.” – you apologized. – “So… so you lost your Barbie?” – you spoke after some silence to start the conversation once more. Ken nodded with pouted lips. – “Where… where did you last see her?” – you asked. Ken scratched his head, lifting the cowboy hat a bit up. – “There were smaller people.” – he responded thoughtfully.
“How tall?” – you questioned. Ken moved his hand to his hip, then moving it up till he lowered it doubtfully down once more. – “Okay a school then.” – you let out. You were about to lead the way till you realized you weren’t sure if he wanted you to tag along. – “Do you mind if I come with you? Help you find Barbie.” – you asked. Ken shook his head.
You gestured in a direction, walking beside Ken.  – “I’m Y/n.” – you said holding your hand out. – “Ken.” – he responded staring at your hand for a moment before shaking it happily. It made you chuckle at how adorably unaware he is. Ken smiled back at you, making sure he staid at your side as you navigated him through the city. You arrived at the school, yet there was no sign of Barbie. – “I don’t see her?” – Ken said, overlooking the deserted playground.
You checked your watch, seeing school had ended half an hour ago. – “I’ll see if anyone is still inside to ask.” – you suggested taking a few steps. You paused seeing that Ken wasn’t following you. – “Aren’t you coming?” – you questioned. Ken jump up straight, jogging over. – “I didn’t think you’d want me along.” – he said as you held the door open for him.
“Why would I not…” – you started, already filling in the rest in your mind. The way he was talking before, made you think he wasn’t used to being put first or feel wanted. Ken and you walked in, going up to the teacher’s lounge.
Knocking on the door, you heard a yes to enter. – “Hi, I’ve got a quick question.” – you said looking at the man drinking his coffee. Ken moved his hand up, saying softly ‘hi’ as it made you lower his hand. – “Have you noticed a woman around her, answering to the name Barbie?” – you asked. The man raised his eyebrow, setting his coffee down.
“She’s probably the prettiest woman you had ever seen in your life. Blonde hair. Lot’s of pink?” – you turned to Ken for validation that you were describing her well. Ken nodded letting you know you were on the right track. – “Left a long time.” – the man answered. – “Do you know where?” – you asked. – “Beats me.” – the man answered. You tugged on Ken’s sleeve, pulling him back outside with you.
Outside Ken went dramatically over to a wall, leaning his arm against it to sob. – “Don’t worry Ken, we’ll find Barbie.” – you reassured him. He sniffed loud. – “You think so?” – he asked looking at you. You nodded with a smile. Ken ran over to you, throwing his arms around you. – “You are awesome Y/n.” – he expressed letting go off you.
It made you laugh shyly. Ken and you left the school. – “Where do you want to look?” – you suggested. Ken looked confused at you. – “You… you want me to choose?” – he let out. You nodded with a smile. – “You know Barbie best. Where do you think she would go?” – you replied. Ken thought for a moment, trying to look cool. – “There!” – he called out slapping his arm out, almost hitting you in the face as it made you jump startled back.
“Come on Y/n.” – Ken took your hand, dragging you with him. Ken and you walked the beach line off. You noticed Ken looking questionable at you. – “Do you have something to ask Ken?” – you said nervous. Ken took a deep breath. – “What is your specialty?” – he asked making you frown. – “My specialty?” – you repeated. – “Mine is beach.” – he let you know. – “So you are beach Ken?” – you suggested. Ken nodded. – “So what about you?” – he asked again.
You hummed curious. – “I’m not exactly sure. I’m not that special Ken…”  - you answered looking away. Ken touched your arm, making you stop. – “I’m not Barbie.” – you told him, knowing you weren’t as special as Barbie. The girl that could do anything. This was the real world. Girls weren’t as perfect as Barbie. Ken’s hand slipped off your arm once you started walking again. – “You aren’t…” – Ken said questionable to himself.
Clearly seeing a difference between Barbie and you. Ken caught up with you again. His eye falling on the men that walked by. It made him try to look serious or cool. Puffing his chest a bit up. A couple walked past the two of you, making Ken follow their movement, even when they were past him. Looking over his shoulder to see them hold hands. It made him look at his own hand for a moment. A bit further away on the beach, he saw another couple.
The man having his arm over the girl’s shoulder and she didn’t seem to be annoyed by it. It made Ken have a lot of questions. You stopped for a moment, looking around for a blonde girl dressed in full pink. One that would scream Barbie. – “Hey uhm Y/n.” – Ken asked tapping you on the shoulder. You hummed loud to listen to his question.
“Do you think Barbie will hold hands with me when we find her?” – he asked locking his fingers together. – “I’m sure she will.” – you told him with a smile. Ken and you continued your search for Barbie. There was little luck as she could be anywhere. It was getting darker as you knew you couldn’t keep up the search for hours.
 “Ken… it’s getting dark… we should continue this tomorrow.” – you said pointing at the sky. Ken looked up. – “Can’t we keep searching in the dark?” – he asked. – “No Ken.” – you finished. – “Do… do you have a place to stay?” – you asked finding it a silly question afterwards. – “You can come over to my house.” – you suggested. – “Why?” – Ken said frowning. – “We’re not boyfriend and girlfriend.” – he let out finding it odd you were inviting him over to your dreamhouse. – “But we’re friends are we not?” – you replied feeling a bit shy.
Ken inhaled deep moving his arm up to show you his muscles. – “Sure.” – he said all cool. You laughed as Ken noticed it. Making him smile to see your laugh was genuine. You led Ken to your house when the sky was darkening. Ken ran inside going immediately for your bed. He let himself fall on it with a content breath. He rolled over, moving his hands behind his head.
“You have a nice dreamhouse Y/n.” – he said looking around. – “Thank you Ken.” – you responded. Ken sat up, bouncing a bit on your matrass. – “You can have the bed for tonight if you like.” – you offered. Ken’s eyes widened. – “Just a moment.”  - he said cooly. He got up disappearing into another room. – “Sublime!” – you heard him call out loud before returning. You found it sweet, laughing giddy.
Ken returned his eyes falling on the guitar in the corner. He ran over to it, grabbing it. Hugging it a bit as if having missed an old friend. – “Do you play?” – you asked. Ken cleared his throat, changing his posture. – “I do.” – he said making his voice deeper. – “Will you play for me?” – you gestured at a seat for him to sit.
Ken took a seat placing the guitar in front of him. You came sitting by him. Ken started playing the guitar as you looked in admiration at him. It made Ken smirk. You gasped surprised when he started singing, serenating for you. His gaze fixated on you as it made you feel bashful. Smiling dreamily back at him. Ken winked at you as it made you press your lips together to withhold a squeal.
Ken caught himself smiling the entire time while gazing at you. His smile slowly fading away as he became aware of what was happening. His words faded out as he stopped playing. – “Did… did I do something wrong?” – you asked watching him put the guitar away. – “No…” – Ken answered with a saddened smile.
Your smile faded as well. – “I’m not Barbie…” – you said having an idea of it. – “Y/n…” – Ken started as you didn’t want to hear his sympathy for you. You got up trying not to cry at how much pain that gave you. – “Y/n.” – Ken said getting up to go after you. You paused turning your head a bit to the side. – “Tomorrow we’ll find Barbie and you’ll return with her to Barbieland. And I will stay here. Don’t worry Ken, you’ll forget about me soon.” – you said over your shoulder before going into a room.
Ken went after you, being met up with a door in his face. He swallowed hurtful, lowering his head. You let your head fall back against the door. Exhaling deep, knowing you were falling for him. Falling for Ken. Someone who only had eyes for Barbie. Perfect Barbie.
Ken laid himself on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Rolling over to the side, he couldn’t deny what your attention made him feel like. It was different then with Barbie. He actually felt heard and seen. You hadn’t once rolled your eyes at him, found him annoying or send him away because it was girl’s night. Yet Barbie. Barbie was the one that called his heart.
Ken and you encountered each other at the same time in the living room. He had changed his cowboy clothes for something else. Ken and you shared an awkward gaze. – “Y/n… I…” – Ken began as you weren’t in the mood for his words of sympathy. – “We’ve got Barbie to find.” – you said leaving out the door. Ken followed in silence. Taking a deep breath, you wondered where you’d start looking.
Ken and you went down the street back to the beach where you searched last night. – “Y/n may I suggest something?” – Ken said nervously. – “Sure.” – you replied as he revealed a pair of skates. – “Can we skate?” – he asked. – “Where did you get those?” – you replied surprised. – “I never go anywhere without them.” – he told you.
“I don’t have any skates.” – you told Ken. Ken grabbed you by the wrist. – “We’ll get you a pair.” – he said happily. Overjoyed he got to skate. Ken found you a pair of skates, which you paid for. You weren’t used to wearing skates so you were a bit clumsy with it.
Needing to do your very best not to fall. – “This way we’ll find Barbie faster.” – Ken called out going faster as you could barely keep up. – “Ken wait!” – you shouted for him to stop. He didn’t seem to hear you or listen to it, just skating forwards. You tried to skate harder and catch up with him, but your feet danced. Slipping and not curving into a straight line.
Arms flailing you tried to keep your balance till you fell down. Hard on your bottom. Your face contracted in pain. A shadow fell upon you, blocking out the sun. – “Are you alright?” – looking up, you met up with a man. Holding his hand out to you. Ken stopped skating, noticing you weren’t near him. He frantically looked around till his gaze fell upon you. Watching a man help you up to your feet. Ken’s expression hardened as he skated over.
“Are you sure you are alright?” – the man asked still holding your hand. – “I’ll probably get a bruise, but other than that I’m alright.” – you told him.  You gasped startled when Ken came bumping hard at him. Pushing the man aside. The man fell to the ground. – “Find your own real girl!” – he shouted at him. You stared in disbelieve at him.
Ken then took you by the hand, skating off with you. The man staring confused at Ken. – “Ken!” – you called out loud not sure what had gotten into him. Ken kept skating with you as you pulled hard at his hand. He came to a stop, coming to stand before you. – “What was that for?” – you said loud.
“He was holding your hand!” – Ken answered. – “I did not like that!” – he said shaking his head and moving his finger across. You smiled flustered. Nearing Ken, you pressed a small kiss against his cheek. Ken’s expression turned blank, touching his cheek where you had kissed him.
“Ken?” – Ken turned his head, snapping out of his daydream. His eyes widening when he saw her. – “Barbie!” – he called out, arms wide open as he skated over to her. He wrapped his arms around her as Barbie moved her head back. – “Okay Ken that’s enough.” – she said pushing him off. – “I’ve been searching everywhere for you Barbie.” – he said holding her hand. Barbie moved her hand up so that it would slip out of his grip. – “Come meet Y/n.” – he went on stepping aside so Barbie could see you.
You waved at Barbie. – “Who is she?” – Barbie asked. Ken went over to you, pushing you a bit closer to Barbie. – “She helped me find you.” – Ken said going back to Barbie. – “I even went to her dreamhouse.” – he whispered giddy. Barbie stared in shock at you. – “Nice to meet you Barbie.” – you spoke as it felt bittersweet. – “Ken we’re going home.” – Barbie declared.
“Okay.” – Ken simply said. He was ready to follow her when you stopped him. – “Ken!” – he turned back to you. – “Aren’t… aren’t you going to say goodbye?” – you asked with tears in your eyes. Ken looked at Barbie for confirmation. Barbie sighed soft, gesturing at you a little bit annoyed.
Ken skated over to you, stopping before you. He took your hand, shaking it excitingly. – “Thank you for helping me find Barbie.” – he said letting go of your hand. – “That’s it?” – you asked hurtful that the moment he saw Barbie, he forgot about you. Ken furrowed his brows a bit. – “I’ll see you again won’t I?” – Ken questioned as you shook your head. – “I can’t Ken… I have to stay here…” – you told him with a saddened smile. Ken looked saddened down as well.
You lifted his head up by his chin. – “Ken, you are very special, remember that.” – you told him as he gazed back at you. – “You are too me. More than Barbie.” – you finished brushing your thumb against his cheek. – “Ken!” – Barbie called out impatient. Ken had looked over his shoulder to her. – “Y/n…” – he started turning back to you. The rest of his words swallowed back in when your lips crashed against his. Ken kept his eyes open, looking confused for a moment.
When you retrieved your lips from his, he immediately missed the contact. Keeping your gaze low, you took a step back. Ken seemingly wanted to move closer to you, but Barbie called him over again. He turned his gaze away, going over to Barbie. Barbie and Ken skated off as you watched them leave. Knowing Ken would always choose Barbie. Ken looked back, having stopped for a moment as he saw you leaving.
Somehow it felt painful to leave you. – “Ken!” – Barbie groaned out. Ken simply obeyed Barbie and followed her back to Barbieland. Where everything was still the same. Where Ken didn’t have a dreamhouse and was never allowed in as every night was girl’s night.  -----------------------------------------

⤷ female, ambiguous race, and any size reader. Requests are open, thank you for reading!
a/n: I know NOTHING about the movie or it’s plot, other than I want to marry Margot and her portrayal of Barbie is bringing so much nostalgia
Warnings: nothing, because in ... Barbie world there’s no hatred, no homophobia, no gender norms etc. It’s perfect...

・First and foremost Barbie is a very independent woman
・She doesn’t need a partner, which makes your relationship all the more special
・She’s chosen you because she genuinely loves you, rather than doing it because ... she has to
・And it was a big shock to many when they found out that Barbie had chosen a woman to be her partner
・But she wouldn’t hear anything against it: she loved you and that was the end of it
・Your relationship seems pretty perfect. Because it is.
・Life with her is perfect
・All the annoyances of normal daily life don’t occur during life with her
・Even if you don’t live in Barblie World, she still has this magical energy that brightens everywhere she goes
・She isn’t someone who has many flaws; physically, mentally or emotionally
・Maybe she does act before thinking though, and that can cause a bit of trouble
・And she’s very specific with both her outfits and yours
・Her wardrobe is endless
・A lot of pastels, as well as endless pinks
・She always makes sure your hair and nails are done (you usually have something matching with your nails...and outfits...)
・Always gives you compliments throughout the day; “god you look radiant honey!” “you’re glowing!” “I can’t believe we’re in love!”
・Being around the other Barbie’s and always having light-hearted conversations (dark thoughts don’t bother you here)
・There are mermaids in the ocean, fairies in the trees, princesses in castles and magic around every corner
・Her nicknames for you are “honey,” “sweetheart,” “my love,” and “bunny.”
・Barbie’s love language is ... all of them. She loves ‘buying’ you gifts (there is no money currency), she loves spending time with you; exploring, dancing, adventuring.
・She always wants to hold your hand or have your arm linked in hers. Her words of affirmation are almost constant. With acts of service, she likes to clean and redecorate for you (even if you don’t need her to).

If yes then just a makeout session please :>
Summary: Ken keeps visiting the coffee shop that (y/n) works at so he can see her and after a while he gathers the confidence to ask her out, maybe for a sleepover?
Word count: 1.8K
Warnings: Kissing

I rush through the city, clutching my bag on my way to the coffee shop where I work, careful not to be late. I weave through the crowds of people, trying not to bump into people but I bump into someone and come to a halt quickly.
“Sorry.” I say looking up at the man I bumped into and notice that I spilled his drink over him. He’s wearing a pink Hawaiian shirt and nothing else covering his chest and matching pink shorts. “I didn’t mean to run into you. I’m sorry about your shirt, umm, I can get you another drink?” I offer whilst showing him an apologetic smile but he just looks slightly dazed as he looks at me.
I stand there for a moment and wait for him to say something but he doesn’t, he just continues to look at me making me feel a little awkward or embarrassed.
“Are you okay?” I ask, softly and he seems to snap out of it.
“Yeah, I’m great.” He says now with a smile then pauses before continuing. “Sorry, what did you say?”
“I said I’m sorry about your shirt.” I say indicating to his drink covered shirt and he looks down and it seems like he hasn’t noticed. “I can get you another drink if you’d like?” I offer again with a small smile.
“My shirt?” He says then looking at the dirtied shirt.
“Sorry about that.” I say, looking away awkwardly. “Do you want a new coffee or something?” I offer.
“A new coffee? Okay.” He says with a bright smile and seems to just go along with what I say.
“Cool, follow me.” I say, smiling as I lead him through the streets to the coffee shop where I work. “This is where I work.” I say looking behind me to see him but he’s not there. “Hello?” I say, looking around but he reappears after a few seconds with a curious smile. “Are you okay?” I ask again.
“I’m doing great. How are you?”
“Okay.” I smile. “Anyway, this is where I work.” I say gesturing to the coffee shop.
I open the door and hold it open for him to walk through and he seems to be in awe of the whole shop. I greet a couple of my coworkers before leading the man over to one of the seats.
“Wait here, I’ll go grab you a coffee?” I ask and he nods still looking around somewhat awe-struck. “I’m so sorry, I forgot to ask you your name?” I say.
“Ken.” He says and I tilt my head, slightly confused.
“Like Barbie and Ken?” I ask, smiling at the coincidence.
“Yep.” He says happily.
“My name’s (y/n).” I introduce myself.
“What a beautiful name.” He smiles.
“Thank you.” I say feeling slightly flustered by the compliment despite his unfaltering smile.”Anyway, I’ll go get some coffee.” I say before heading back to the kitchen whilst tying on my apron.
I emerge a few minutes later holding a couple of cups of coffee. Walking back over to where he’s sitting still smiling. I move over to sit next to him and his eyes move to look at me as I place the two cups of coffee on the table.
“Here.” I offer. “I’m sorry about your shirt, again.” I apologize again.
“It’s okay, I’ve got plenty of shirts.” He smiles, holding onto the drink and raising it to drink from it.
Sipping on my coffee I watch as he drinks from the cup, clearly not liking the drink but pretending like he does. He swallows it down with a sour looking face but quickly puts a smile on again.
“It’s nice.” He says, causing me to chuckle.
“You don’t have to pretend like you like it.” I say. “I can get you something else if you’d like.”
“No, I like it.” He says, trying to convince me but being a very bad liar.
“If you say so.” I smile as he pretends to enjoy the drink.
-------------------
After that interaction Ken returned to the coffee shop I work at only days later asking what I made for him last time and ordering it again. I didn’t think he liked it and when he tried it again I was reassured that he didn’t like it.
Then he came back again and ordered the same coffee, sipping on it, trying to suppress his dislike of the bitter drink. He came back again and again always ordering the same drink and making sure to talk to me each time.
I watch as Ken walks in the door for the fifth time recently and whilst I’m serving another customer, one of my coworkers serves him.
“Oh, no thank you. I’d like to wait for (y/n).” He says politely with his bright smile and waits for me to finish off.
“Hi Ken.” I smile at his antics. “What would you like to order today?” I ask, wondering whether he’s changed his order.
“The usual please, (y/n).”
“You don’t wanna try something new?” I ask, chuckling quietly.
“No thanks, just the usual please.” He orders with a smile.
“I’ll bring it over to you in a few minutes.” I say and he returns to his usual spot where he waits for me to bring over his coffee.
After a few minutes I take his coffee over to him, placing it down and watching as he sips on it, swallowing down the bitter drink he clearly dislikes.
I go to walk back over, away from the table before hearing Ken’s voice.
“(y/n)?” I hear from behind me so I turn around.
“Yeah, Ken?” I ask, turning around to face his smiling face.
“I was wondering whether you’d like to hang out sometime? Outside of the coffee shop.” He says, in a positive tone still with his charming smile.
“Yeah, that sounds nice.” I smile at him, genuinely happy at his proposal. “What do you wanna do?” I ask.
“Do you want to come over to my house?” He offers.
“Yeah, sure. When?”
“Now?” He says eagerly, making me chuckle.
“I’ve gotta finish my shift.” I say, smiling at his comment.
“After your shift then?” He asks.
“Okay, I’ll be done in a little under an hour.” I say, checking my watch. “Do you want something to eat or drink  until then?”
“I’m okay, thank you.” He says, his handsome smile stuck to his face.
I walk away, unable to suppress my smile and excitement as I continue working, it feels like the longest shift I’ve ever had despite only having an hour left.
Afterwards I go back to Ken’s table and he greets me with a smile.
“Hi (y/n), are you ready to go?” He asks and I nod.
Ken gets up walking after me. “How far away is your house?” I ask and he thinks for a while.
“A long way away.” He says, thinking.
“Where’s your car?” I ask, looking around.
“I don’t have a car.” He says, still smiling.
“Do you wanna go to my house then?” I offer, trying not to chuckle at the cuteness of his words.
“Yeah.” He smiles.
“Well, my apartment is fairly close so I just walk normally.” He kind of just goes along with whatever I say, following me like a lost puppy with his smile that seems to be permanently stuck to his face.
I open the door once we get to my apartment and welcome him in, kicking off my shoes.
“Make yourself at home.” He walks in, looking around.
The next few hours are spent doing various things, baking, talking and just watching TV.
Now we’re sitting on the sofa next to each other, my head resting on his shoulder as the crappy show plays in the background, not that I’m focusing on that.
“Hey (y/n)?” Ken says and I look up to him.
“Yeah?”
“Are we boyfriend and girlfriend?” He asks, a slight vulnerability in his tone but I wouldn’t have noticed as he covers it up quickly with a smile.
“If you want.” I smile up at him.
“I want.” He says and I chuckle before pressing a kiss to his cheek. Ken freezes for a few seconds and I look at him concerned, tilting my head to see him with eyes wide. “Could you do that again?” He asks quietly after a moment.
I nod before sitting up and pressing another kiss to his cheek leaving a glossy lip shaped mark.
“That was really nice.” He smiles and I turn to face him so after a second I gently press my lips against his.
He completely freezes and I worry for a second, thinking I made him uncomfortable or weirded him out as he doesn’t react.
“Ken? Are you okay?” I ask quietly, my eyes scanning over the shocked expression on his face. He seems to snap out of it after a few more moments and his eyes lock onto mine, his smile reappearing on his face before he pushes his lips against mine.
Now I’m the one caught off guard but I soon melt into his kiss, the warmth of his lips against mine a feeling I don’t wanna stop feeling. I reach my hand up to rest on his jaw, my thumb stroking over his jawline as I cradle his face. He presses his lips further against mine and I can feel the desperation. Pulling apart for a few seconds I’m slightly breathless as I rest my forehead against Ken’s.
“You okay?” I ask, tentatively with a soft smile as his eyes seem to be sparkling.
“Wow.” He says, making me look away shyly. “I've never done that before…” He says still smiling although there’s a tinge of embarrassment in his tone.
“You’ve never kissed someone before?” I ask, confused on how a guy as charming as him has never kissed someone before.
“No, but that was great!” He reassures, smiling brightly. “Can we do it again?” He asks eagerly, scooching closer towards me, one of his hands resting on my thigh.
“Yeah.” That’s all it takes for him to kiss me again, pushing his lips against mine with a new depth of emotion. I can feel him smile against my lips as he never seems to stop smiling, my eyes flutter closed at the feeling. His hand on my thigh causes shivers to go up my spine as his other hand runs up my arm, stroking up and down my shoulder.
“How are you so good at kissing if you’ve never kissed someone before?” I say between kisses as he keeps chasing my lips.
“I don’t know.” He pulls back, shrugging with a casual smile before pulling me back in, his lips sliding against mine in a satisfying way as our lips seem to fit together perfectly.
“We should have a sleepover.” He says after a few more moments and all I can do is smile against his lips.

AN: Thank you for the request!
I really enjoyed the Barbie movie, and Oppenheimer later that day (yes I did the double-bill).

A/N: I have so many ideas about Ken exploring the Real World I don't think my notes are big enough for it…
Summary: Ken plays Uno for the first time, and the Real World Reader helps him out.
Word count: 657 words;
Have a good reading!
Ken never played board games. Of course, in Barbieland he had… Cards that had to be placed on top of other cards of the same type without any rules? Well, I think everyone will agree that this is a bit outside the scope of the conventional notion of board games, so the bottom line is still the same: Ken has never played a real board game. And you, as his Real World tour guide, decided to fix that by starting with elementary Uno.
"Ken…" You tried your best to hold back the urge to look at Ken's cards that he had so naively put on display. And also laughter. Because his carelessness could not but cheer you up. "You need to hide your cards or I can spy on them and beat you easily."
"Oh".
Ken turned them upside down in an instant.
"You didn't get to see them, did you?"
You finally opened your eyes and looked unhindered into Ken's worried face.
“No, don't worry. I'll win in a fair fight, so… And now it's my turn.'
You didn't have a choice, so you laid out the color selection card. In fact, you stuck it out until the very end because you knew for sure that Ken…
“Ah, this is the card you were telling me about, isn't it? This, um…”
…will have some problems with this.
“This card means I can now choose any suit for the next card. And I choose…"
You thought for a moment, although there was no need for it. You could normally say the color you have more of, or just the first color that comes to mind. But it was not difficult to notice that Ken, or rather his game, was in a bad situation... This was evidenced by at least a dozen cards in his hands. You didn't want Ken to lose and get discouraged in his first Uno game, so you decided to play along with him a little. Sometimes breaking the rules can serve a good cause.
"…Blue!"
Ken's face immediately darkened. He frowned and you realized that, it seems, in your efforts to do the best, you only made it worse.
"No! I'd rather choose... Green?"
Ken's face lit up and filled with pride, not hiding his sincere emotions at all. And you were finally able to exhale.
You played for a while longer, and you did your best to push Ken to victory. And now, at the most decisive moment, when you both had only one card left, you were quite ready to give this win to your opponent. However, it seems that Ken had other plans.
He decisively threw a reverse card into the deck. You're about to take a breath to shout out congratulations on his first victory, but...
"Oh, I think my card is the wrong color... I'll have to take more, am I right?"
You stare in confusion at the other card in Ken's hand. But a moment ago he had only one!
"Ken, didn't you already have Uno?"
"No, I had two cards! Uh-huh… Yeah."
Ken was a lousy liar. He couldn't even keep a straight face during the game, and then there was the lie, so you easily uncovered his little scam. It looks like you weren't the only one who wanted your opponent to win.
You smiled to yourself, enjoying Ken's sweet act. Even though he didn't know much about the game, he was still trying to help you. Your smile became all too obvious as you realized this.
"Okay... I propose a draw, what do you think?"
"Does that mean we both win, or does that mean we both lose?"
"It means that we ended this match on equal terms. And now we can go eat ice cream as a prize."
Ken smiled broadly, unable to contain his feelings. His smile was even happier than if he had just won the game.
"You know, I like board games!"

This Isn't Barbie Land: Chapter 1
Ken x Fem!Reader
You are working away as a waitress at a night club when the oddest man came up to you after your shift and accidentally swept you off your feet. Yet you don't know if you are ready for another relationship after the disaster that was your last one. You just hope everything goes nice and easy.
Ken is your doll and he wants you to teach him how to be human and help you through the pain you've been feeling.
This first chapter felt rushed to me a little but it's all the world building setting up the plot of the story and what's to come. Enjoy this little dabble and I promise I have a ton planned. It's also my first time writing in second person. Forgive me if there are some grammar errors and feel free to leave any critique on this story! I wanna always improve and I love feedback!
I also did a quick once through for editing cause buh, I hate editing and I just wanted to post it. Also I wanna say I got inspired from the heart beat part of this story from Nothing Natural by @interpolanticssuperfan . Their fanfic is super amazing please also check them out
This story is 18+ but I'll add in the warnings if there is any smut in the chapter.
Warnings: None for this one aside from mild swearing, alcohol consumption, and jokes about sex/mentions of sex. (Ken is virgin so get ready for Reader having to teach Ken about sex soon enough)

You knew it was always a bad idea to stay for a drink after your shift ended, but after the night you had it had become a necessity. Another rough night of running around on your feet in heels that could qualify as an OSHA violation. You pulled your skirt down, trying to give yourself some modesty. Not that you disliked mini skirts, you loved them! You just hated the feeling of eyes burning into your skin and longing looks drunk men would give you as you brought them their drinks. At least the tips made it worth it.
You downed your cocktail quickly, scanning the crowd of partying people. You noticed a very tall blonde with women huddling around him until you would see their faces scrunch up after he spoke and they would walk away, only for another woman to try her shot at the blonde. He had a complete look of innocence and just the biggest smile, not seeming to understand when a girl would run her hand up his chest. It made you giggle, he was nothing like any of the regulars.
He was stunning, even though it was hard to see him in the dull light of the club. His big blue eyes danced all around the place. He would smile like a child as a waiter would walk past holding a tray filled with sparkling drinks. When he suddenly made eye contact with you, you felt a rush of chills. He was similar to a doll, staring back at you with a big bright smile and glossy eyes. You shifted nervously as he raised his hand to you and waved as if you were an old friend. Your hand twitched, wanting to wave back at him. He had to be waving to someone else as you glanced back to the bar you were sitting at and raised your hand for another drink.
“Seems blondie likes you.” The bartender brought your refill, just a plain vodka cranberry. Simple but it tasted good and you enjoyed the little buzz.
“I’ve never seen someone like him before.” You turned to your coworker. She was the other reason you stayed after. Claire was fiery and always soothed your nerves. She had been there for you when no one else was. “He’s got quite the crowd around him.”
“He’s had the crowd since he’s walked in here but no girl has seemed to have won him over.” Claire laughed, stealing a sip from your drink.
“Hey, people are allowed to be picky.” You swatted at your friend, taking back your glass. The chills hadn’t left. It was the feeling described as seeing your soulmate for the first time. The air knocked out of your lungs, goosebumps running over your skin but deep warmth flooded your entire body. It had to be the vodka.
Claire grinned like a cat and winked, pointing behind you. You gave a swift glance behind you, bringing the glass to your lips not expecting your view of the entire bar to be blocked by the chest of the blonde you had been staring at before. Fuck. He was hot from a distance but up close he was godly.
“Hi! I really love your dress! You look beautiful!” The blonde smiled brightly as compliments kept tumbling from his perfect mouth. “I’m Ken!”
“Hi…” You stared blankly at him, the blonde- um- Ken, who waited attentively for your name. “I’m y/n, and thank you. This is just my uniform, I work here.”
It was a tight pvc mini dress, uncomfortable to wear but it matched the theme of the night club. Every waiter and waitress was meant to be eye candy for the guests.
“It’s something Barbie would wear!”
You cringed a little at his comment, he was right. This was like a cheap doll outfit, leaving little to the imagination.
“I love it y/n!” Ken beamed so brightly you thought you would go blind.
“What?”
“I love it!” The man took your free hand in his. “You’re the prettiest girl here! I don’t understand it, you just took my breath away. All of the Kens would be so jealous if I brought you back to Barbie Land but I made a bet with Ken that I wouldn’t come back to Barbie Land cause I could make it in the real world just has Barbie had.”
He was either insane or the drunkest person here, but he was stupid hot. You just nodded your head slightly, sipping more from your drink. Ken was still holding your hand and pulled you up quickly, your drink spilling over both of you. You could barely react as he pulled you through the crowd.
You shot a panicked look at Claire, only for her to give a toothy smile and a big thumbs up. She was gonna pay for this, she had been trying for you to get back into the dating scene ever since… he had left the city. You placed your cup on a tray of a passing waiter and you tugged Ken to a stop.
“Where are we going Ken?” Taking his other hand in yours, his hands were massive… the alcohol had definitely gotten to you. Images of his hand wrapped around your throat or holding your hips to his, danced in your brain.
“The beach, y/n! I’m way better on the beach! You’ll love me on the beach!”
Better on the beach? What did that even mean? If this had been any other man you would have started screaming bloody murder but something about Ken was enduring. You know it was stupid to trust some random stranger but you knew he didn’t have the ability to cause harm to even a fly.
“What? For beach sex? I’d recommend taking me to dinner first.” You knew your inhibitions were lowered but that had slipped from your mouth without you even thinking.
“Sex?” Ken paused and looked down at you, still smiling dumbly. “What’s sex?”
“You don’t know what sex is?”
“Well, of course I know what it is.” Ken’s whole demeanor changed instantly and puffed out his chest. “Just seeing if you know what sex is.”
“Yes, I know what sex is.” You answered as he looked you up and down.
“Well good then yes that is what we are gonna do. Sex on the beach. I’m good at everything Beach.”
It was obvious he had no idea what he was talking about. You started to giggle. Who on earth was this man?
“Hey!” Ken had panic written all over his face, “Please don’t laugh at me! Y/n!”
His whining was adorable and you led him out of the club, feeling the humid air of the outside hit your skin. This was a first but you were the experienced one here even though he appeared far older than you. You didn’t get it but this odd man was pulling you in.
“It’s okay if you don’t know what sex is. I was kidding anyway.” You smirked. “Let's just go to the beach Ken.”
His blinding smile returned and began pulling you to the sandy shore.
“That’s a relief! I have zero clue what that is. We don’t have that in Barbie Land.”
It was hard to walk in the soft sand in heels so you kicked them off and left them behind. You’d find them later, right now the very handsome and even stranger man in front of you was more important.
Ken had started talking again, something about Barbies and plastic waves. It was absolute nonsense spilling from the blonde. You finally understood why all of the women that had approached him turned away absolutely appalled.
You plopped yourself on the warm sand, entranced by Ken’s bizarre story. He was waving his arms around, explaining about how once he tried to impress Barbie by surfing the waves but got thrown into the air. He didn’t break anything because he is super cool and super strong. Then he started about how after Barbie left Barbie Land some of the Kens started putting him down for being “Barbie-less”.
“But I’m Ken!” Ken huffed and placed his hands on his hips. “I’m enough! They just don’t understand it! Some do but Ken always has to one up me!”
“You are all named Ken?”
He paused and focused down on you, scrunching his brows.
“Yes. It’s what Mattel named us.”
“Mattel?” You sober upped after hearing that. “The toy company?”
“Yeah! I’m a Ken! Or I was, now I’m Ken. Just Ken. Not a Ken.” The blonde gave you a million dollar smile. “I’m my own man, tiny baby.”
You just sat there, gaping at the weird man. He was telling you he was the boy doll that came along with the popular Barbie doll. You only had one Ken as a kid but you had at least 10 Barbies. The craziest part? You believed everything he was saying.
“You’re a doll.”
Ken flopped down right in front of you, nodding his head vigorously. He took your hand again and compared its size to his.
“Not just a doll.” Ken was entranced by how petite your hand was compared to his. “When I saw you, I had this feeling. I’ve never had this feeling before, but I know you Y/N. I think I'm your doll.”
“My doll?”
“Yes!” Ken laced his fingers with yours. “Weird Barbie told us that every Barbie and Ken have someone that's playing with them. Even Allan and Midge have someone playing with them.”
“I haven’t played with a doll in years. How does that even work?”
“I’m not sure how it works either. All I know is you’re my girl.”
You were thankful it was dark outside so Ken couldn’t see how flushed your face had gotten. This had to be a dream. You stared at your hand being held by Ken’s, you felt oddly complete.
“Can you help me, Y/N?” Ken’s voice was soft, timid almost. “I wanted to find you, the one who had been playing with me. It wasn’t because Ken dared me. I’ve been feeling lonely, unlovable. I thought it would be fixed after I realized I wasn’t just a Ken but it didn’t go away. I went to Weird Barbie and she told me it was the feelings of the girl who had played with me. You are feeling like this and I don't get it!”
Ken forced your hand to his chest, his skin was warm. You expected to feel a heartbeat but his chest was entirely still aside from the rise and fall of his chest from breathing. The lack of a thump in his rips killed the rest of your doubts.
“I want to become like you. I want to be human. Then I can help you.”
“You feel what I feel?”
“Not everything, just the feelings deep down.” He squeezed your hand like a vice. “Please, Y/N. There is so much I wanna learn about. Then I can help you not feel lonely and unlovable!”
“Okay, Ken. I’ll try to teach you.” You smiled gently and it startled you when you felt a beat in his chest. Ken was also alarmed by the new sensation he was feeling.
“You have a heartbeat Ken.”
“I have a heartbeat... you gave me a heartbeat.”

Summary: Ken has taken over Barbieland. When Barbie get's desperate for her dreamhouse she turns to you for help. When Ken and you meet each other again, he hadn't forgotten about you. Never being able to get you out of his head. [ read part 1 ]
Tumblr media
“I took the lead for once.” – Ken bragged as the other Ken’s sat in front of him. Pulled in by his story. – “She even asked me to stay over.” – he said sounding cool. – “No way.” – one of the Ken’s said. – “Way.” – Ken replied with a nod. One of the Ken’s scoffed with a puff. Ken turned his head to him. – “You don’t believe me?” – Ken asked a bit bitsy. The other Ken placed his hand on his thigh, leaning a bit closer. – “What about Barbie?” – he answered cocky. Ken flexed his muscles, moving his arm up.
“What about her?” – he replied trying to sound unbothered. A few Ken’s eyes widened. Then there was a loud voice. Calling out his name from below. – “KEN!” – the voice cried out clearly frustrated. Ken held his finger up to the Kens, moving a bit closer to the edge to see who was below. It was Barbie standing at his door. – “A moment Kens.” – he commented as if it didn’t bother him.
Ken got down, pushing the barn doors open, letting his arms rest on them. – “What up Barbie.” – he told her cooly. Barbie moved some hair over her shoulder, putting on a sweet smile. – “Ken, this is my dreamhouse.” – she said trying to keep her composure. Ken took in a deep breath. – “This shall hence forth be known as Ken’s mojo dojo casa house.” – he responded.
“This is my dreamhouse!” – Barbie shouted with a stomp of her heel on the ground. Ken chuckled out a laugh so dryly it wasn’t even an attempt of being funny. – “It’s Ken’s mojo dojo casa house.” – he repeated. Barbie wiggled annoyingly like a whiney little child. – “It’s time for the Ken’s to have a dreamhouse Barbie.” – Ken told her. He waved her away, wanting her off his property. Barbie stared in shock at him as Ken returned back inside.
She felt like crying if only she knew what the emotion was. Angry at Ken, she had used up her last attempt. Ever since they came back from the real world, he had been different. Taking over Barbieland to turn it into Kendom. A place where the Ken’s took everything from the Barbie’s. Barbie was at her last wits, letting herself fall into the sofa at weird Barbie’s house.
Weird Barbie stretched her leg up against the wall, tilting her head. – “I assume Ken didn’t listen.” – she said moving her head back and lowering her leg. Barbie shook her head. – “I don’t know what to do anymore. I want my dreamhouse back.” – she whined out wiggling her legs with a shake of her shoulders.
Weird Barbie did a split on the ground, bringing one leg forwards so she had both her legs out in front of her. – “What about the real girl?” – Weird Barbie questioned. – “You mean Y/n?” – Barbie said through her distress. Weird Barbie got back up stretching her arms up above her head. – “Maybe he’ll listen to her?” – Weird Barbie suggested letting her arms flop against her side. Barbie blinked, her distress gone in a matter of seconds. – “You think so?” – she asked getting up. – “It’s worth a shot?” – Weird Barbie answered pulling her shoulders up.
Barbie ran up to Weird Barbie, grabbing her by the shoulders. – “If I can convince her to come here and tell Ken to stop, everything will get back to normal.” – Barbie exclaimed happily, squeezing Weird Barbie’s shoulders together. – “I guess so?” – Weird Barbie replied. – “I could get my dreamhouse back!” – Barbie pushed Weird Barbie away as she spun around, arms flapping till she came to a stop. – “She did do something silly with Ken where their lips touched.” – Barbie said clasping her hands together, already thinking about getting her dreamhouse back.
“You mean kiss?” – Weird Barbie answered scratching the back of her head. – “No silly.” – Barbie answered laughingly. – “There is no contact with a kiss.” – Barbie went on innocently. Weird Barbie held her finger up, wanting to contradict, but Barbie was so in the clouds with her head, it was no use.
Barbie waved Weird Barbie goodbye, going to leave for the real world again. This time there wasn’t Ken jumping on her from the backseat. It was just her and that song she sings her lungs out to leaving Barbieland… urhm… Kendom. Barbie went through sequences of phases before she entered the real world again on rollerblades. Everything was still the same when she left it.
Now she just needed to find you. She… she just didn’t know where you lived. Falling in one of her distress moments again she sat down whining about how she was ever going to find you. As if a miracle was spoken out, you found her. You furrowed your brows seeing the so obvious pink blondie on a spot you first found Ken as well. You decided to walk up to her. – “Barbie?” – you said confused.
Barbie looked up, bringing up a grant smile. – “Y/n!” – she exclaimed getting up and wrapping her arms around you. – “I found you!” – she said aloud making you a bit wary of Barbie’s sudden affection towards you. – “Is… is Ken here too?” – you questioned looking around over her shoulder. – “No, but you are going to save Barbieland!” – she said cheerful still holding your hands.
“I’m doing what?” – you replied shocked and caught off guard. Barbie squealed excitedly, her eyes falling on your shoes. – “We’ll first need rollerblades.” – she pointed out, making your eyes widen. – “Not again!” – you called out being pulled along with her. Before you knew it you were in rollerblades. Arms wide open, you were afraid to make a move. – “I don’t like this.” – you told her remembering last time. – “No complaining, I need my dreamhouse.” – Barbie said, grabbing you by the wrist.
You screamed it out when she started skating, pulling you along with her. It seemed like she was skating without any purpose or destination. With the blink of your eyes, you were suddenly on a snowmobile behind Barbie. – “What is this?” – you asked looking confused around. – “The way to Barbieland silly.” – Barbie answered. It felt like the skimobile wasn’t going forwards but within a matter of moments, the scenery had changed again.
You sat confused in a chair on a camping site as Barbie arrived with an empty plate. – “What is going on?” – you called out slightly panicking as you grabbed onto the chair’s leaning. Barbie joined you, sitting down as well. – “Ken has taken over Barbieland.” – she told you. You stared confused back at her. With the blink of an eye sat you on a two-bike with Barbie. – “He won’t listen to me, so I’m using you.” – Barbie spoke sitting in the front. Looking around you suddenly sat on a rocket with a helmet on.
“Tell Ken to stop and give me back my dreamhouse.” – Barbie told you over her shoulder. You heard a bird caw as you suddenly were in a boat with her. Grabbing the edge, you looked down at the fakest waves you had ever seen. – “You’ll bring everything back to normal.” – she told you with a smile. The boat made way for a pink car as you sat beside her. Feeling a bit awkward. Barbie sang along with the song on the radio as you kept quiet.
You rather inspected the toy car that seemed to almost drive on it’s own. In the distance you saw a big sign covering over with Kendom written on it. – “See!” – Barbie called out, gesturing at it. The car drove past some men, placing bricks on stacks. – “They are building a wall.” – Barbie told you as you kept looking at them even when passed. Not at all how one would build a wall.
Pinching yourself, you hoped you weren’t tripping for it sure felt like it. The pink car drove into the town as you had imagined it a lot pinker. You drove past the beach, hoping to spot Ken there, yet there was no sign of him. The car drove on till it stopped in a small neighbourhood. Barbie got out as you followed her still trying to process what was going on.
Barbie walked up to the house as you staid behind her. Looking curiously around. – “Ken!” – she called out sweetly. Not a moment later opened the barn doors with Ken appearing. – “Barbie.” – he said cooly. – “Ken.” – Barbie said sugary with a sweet smile. – “Can I have my dreamhouse back?” – she asked with a flirty look. Ken chuckled dryly looking away. – “It’s Ken’s mojo dojo casa house.” – he told her annoying her. – “Fine!” – Barbie let out stepping aside to reveal you.
You were still looking curious around till you noticed Barbie had moved. Your gaze falling on Ken. Ken’s eyes widened seeing you. – “Y/n!” – he said excitedly. Smiling boyishly. – “Hi Ken.” – you responded. Ken cleared his throat, changing his attitude. He moved his bare arm up, flexing his muscles at you. – “What are you doing here?” – he asked checking out his own muscles and hoping you were looking at them.
Barbie gave you a little shove forwards, desperate for her dreamhouse. – “I wanted to talk to you. Can I come in?” – you asked. Ken inhaled deep looking over his shoulder. – “It’s boy’s night.” – he told you. – “Can’t you make an exception?” – you answered sweetly. – “One moment.” – Ken held his finger up, disappearing behind the corner. You got startled when he let out a scream off excitement. He then re-appeared all cooly.
“Sure.” – he opened one side for you. You ducked down under his arm, going inside. Barbie wanted to go after you as Ken blocked her way.  – “Not you.” – he said ushering her away. Barbie gasped in shock. Ken turned around leaving Barbie outside. You had entered the house more as you were greeted with many curious men sitting in the living. All turned around to look at you. You presumed they were Ken’s as well, moving your hand up in a greeting.
“Hi Kens.” – you said. Ken came by your side, gesturing at you to make other Ken jealous. – “Hi Y/n!” – all the Ken’s said in unison. Startling you that they knew off you. – “It’s boy’s night.” – one of the Ken’s said. Ken placed his hands on your shoulders. – “Y/n is an exception. She came all the way from the real world to see me.” – he told them.
The moment he said that all the Ken’s came over. Jumping over the sofa to get to you. Some started to poke you in your cheek to feel if you were truly real. Others tried to win you over with their masculinity. It was overwhelming as you felt like being absorbed by Ken’s. Ken waved his hand in front of you, battering the other Ken’s away.  – “Get your own real girl!” – he called out, claiming you as his. Not liking the idea he needed to share you, he grabbed you by your wrist, pulling you upstairs.
Exhausted he sighed loud free from the Ken’s. You stood a bit lost, feeling a bit nervous. It has been a while since you saw Ken. Unable to stop thinking about him and now you were here with him where he lived. Ken’s gaze fell upon you, softening his expression. He walked up to you, taking your hand gently in his. His eyes staring lovingly at you. His cool attitude from earlier fading away. – “I’ve missed you.” – you said gazing lovingly back at him. Ken smiled at that.
He led you further into the room letting you sit down. – “After I left… I couldn’t get you out of my head.” – he told you. – “It’s like I’m thinking more about you than Barbie.” – he confessed, frowning a bit. You smiled shyly as your reaction made Ken wink at you. – “Ken… you should be thinking about Barbie. You are boyfriend and girlfriend.” – you told him, knowing how deep a Ken’s love was for a Barbie. – “But I don’t want to.” – Ken answered holding both your hands now. You exhaled deep, getting up as your hands slipped out of his. Ken looked saddened and hurt at your back.
“What did you do to Barbieland?” – you asked changing the subject. – “It was time for the Ken’s to take over once I found out about patriarchy. It’s where men and horses run the world.” – Ken explained. – “That is not what…” – you started turning half back to him to explain. – “I know. I lost interest in it once I found out it wasn’t like that.” – he interrupted you. His answer made you chuckle softly at how innocent he was. Hearing you laugh made Ken curl up a saddened smile.
Ken got up as well, approaching you. When he touched your elbow, you slowly turned around to him. His eyes telling you all. He had missed you desperately. As you had missed him. – “Ken…” – you started yearning so much for him. Heart breaking again that you had to leave him again soon. – “I’ll give Barbie back her dreamhouse.” – he simply answered. You nodded letting him know it was the right call. – “and restore Barbieland.” – he said with soft sigh, knowing how it used to be. But maybe things could be different.
Ken’s eyes widened looking at you. He pulled you closer to the centre. Leaving you standing, he rushed to go get his guitar. – “I’ll serenade to you.” – knowing how much you liked that. – “Ken…” – you said knowing he was trying to stall time. – “Or I can show you the beach? I’m really good at beach.” – he chuckled out nervously. Ken laid his guitar away looking desperately around for more ways to keep you around.
“I’ll teach you to skate? We can hold hands. Do that thing again you did with your lips.” – he kept suggesting, getting more desperate by each one. – “Ken.” – you said knowing you couldn’t stay here. You simply came here to restore Barbieland and then leave again. Interesting that it took but a few words of yours for him to restore it. You weren’t meant to stay here. You weren’t meant to fall in love with Ken.
It had always been Barbie and Ken. Never Ken and Y/n. Things like that didn’t exist. Ken grabbed your hands, dropping in despair to his knees. – “I don’t want you to leave.” – he begged. – “You have Barbie.” – you told him with a heavy heart. – “I don’t want her. I want you!” – Ken called out. – “Please…” – he pleaded unable to tear himself away from you. – “Ken, you know I can’t stay here.” – you explained to him.
Ken got up to his feet, ready to do anything to have you longer. – “Am I not worth fighting for?” – he asked with a saddened face. Touching his cheek, you made him look at you. – “You so are Ken.” – you whispered to him. – “More than anything. But I can’t stay here. I’m no Barbie.” – you explained him again.
Ken clamped himself onto you. – “I don’t want you to leave. I don’t want to miss you again.” – he said feeling miserable without you by his side. Ken’s eyes met up with yours, seeing the desperation in them. – “Please…” – he whispered, begging you one last time. A tear rolled down your cheek as Ken wiped it away. – “I wish I could… but  I can’t…” – you told him. Ken placed his hand behind your neck, pushing you closer.
Continue to bring you closer till he felt his lips come in contact with yours. Something he had never done with Barbie. You slowly pulled away as Ken wanted to have another go. Feel your lips on his again. – “Ken…” – you said putting him to a stop. You turned away from him, making your way to the stairs. Ken was panting. Feeling you slip away. – “I’ll come with you!” – he suddenly shouted, making you stop to stare with wide eyes at him.

You were softly awakened when Ken shifted in bed beside you, the arm around your waist tightening protectively. Turning around to face him, you cherished the peaceful atmosphere surrounding you, and Ken’s soft - adorable - snores that emitted from him. He slept soundly on his side, mouth slightly agape, his chest rising up and down. His blonde hair was everywhere, sticking out in random directions; it made you smile. Reaching out, you gently brushed his hair back away from his forehead, making him stir.
Slowly, his ocean blue eyes fluttered open, a dopey smile gracing his features when his eyes met yours. “Good morning, babe,” He muttered, his voice raspy and rough with sleep.
You sighed, brushing your fingers along his cheek, marveling at the man before you. “Good morning, Ken.” Your fingers trailing to the back of his head, tangling in the soft hair at the nape of her neck, “I’m sorry for waking you.”
Groaning lightly from your ministrations, Ken shut his eyes, moving forward to nuzzle his head into your neck, “Mm, you didn’t wake me,” He murmured, voice slightly muffled as he pulled you closer into him; legs tangling with yours, “I was already awake.”
“Sure,” You mused, carding your fingers through his hair, lightly scratching at his scalp, earning you another soft groan. “I totally believe you.”
Ken only hummed, his eyelashes tickling your neck as he pressed multiple sleepy kisses there, “I love you.”
You tried to hold back a giggle, your smile widening as you dug your nose into his hair, taking in the scent of coconut and vanilla; melting at his soft words. “I love you more, sweetheart,” You whispered, tightening your hold on him briefly before caressing his hair back and kissing his forehead. “Do you want some breakfast?” You then asked, “I can make your favorite.” You sang softly, only for Ken to pull back to look at you.
“Waffles?” He asked, and you nodded, his smile widening at the movement, “With whipped cream?” He added, becoming more excited as you nodded once more.
“Yep, as long as we still have some left over.” You answered, which caused Ken to cheer, his arm lifting from your waist to fistbump the sky; a small ‘yes,’ escaping him.
Sitting up in the bed, Ken followed, letting out a yawn as he rubbed one of his eyelids with the heel of his hand. You admired him for a moment, thick fleece blanket pooled in his lap, sun-kissed chest exposed; flexing as he raised his arms up in the air; he was the definition of perfection, and would be the death of you eventually. Biting your lip, glanced away, hopping out of the bed, and walking over to the window to open the blackout curtains. Your eyes squinted at the harsh sunlight before they lit up when you saw the fresh pile of snow resting on the ground, snowflakes falling gracefully from the sky.
Whipping around, you sprinted back to the bed, jumping and landing on your knees, making the bed bounce. Ken chuckled at your behavior, his eyes flickering from your large smile to your eyes, seeing them sparkle. “Kenny, it’s finally snowing!” You cheered, watching as Ken’s eyes widened.
“Real World snow?” He asked, and you nodded, trying to peer over your shoulder out the window.
“Yeah! New plan, after breakfast, we’re building a snowman.” You spoke, your excitement sort of getting the best of you, but you didn’t care. You loved snow. Ken only smiled, eyes softening as you began talking about all the things the two of you could do out in the snow. “We could also have a snowball fight, or build a Mojo Dojo Casa House out of snow, it'll be so cool…”
Ken watched as you, adoring how you spoke so animatedly. Ken couldn't help but think about how stunning you looked in his plain, pink shirt from the day before and black sweats that matched his.
He was so glad that he went back to the Real World after a couple of months of finding himself. He had learned so much from Barbie and the others. Traveling to the Real World for the second time, permanently, he never expected to run into you while rollerblading. Literally.
Perfect you. You really helped him a lot after he had become human. With learning about how the Real World worked in general, and making sure he knew enough that when you headed off to work Ken wouldn't starve but he also wouldn't burn your house down. For that, for you just being you, for loving him, appreciating him… He was forever grateful, and forever yours.
He was so in love with you.
Reaching over, Ken placed his hand on your cheek, causing your words to slowly trail off, meeting his eyes, as his thumb brushed along your soft skin before he leaned forward to press his lips to yours. You sighed into the kiss, eyelashes fluttering as you closed your eyes, leaning forward to deepen it. Pulling back, Ken chased your lips, a lovestruck expression on his face; drunk on you and your love.
“Let's go make breakfast, yeah? The faster we eat, the faster we can go play in the snow.” You suggested, watching as Ken nodded eagerly. Slipping back out of bed, Ken followed close behind, his hand instantly holding yours. He placed countless kisses on your hand as you traveled through the house to the kitchen. One there, you leaning forward, you reached over and turned on the radio that was on the counter. Raising your intertwined hands, you glanced up at Ken, who had already been looking down at you; admiring you as always, “Ken, I need my hand.” You gestured to your hand, looking from him, to your hands, and back, “I need both of my hands to make breakfast.”
Pouting, Ken reluctantly dropped your hand, “Okay…” He lightly groaned, only for you to reach up and gently pat his cheek.
“Help me grab the ingredients?” You asked, and Ken was on it. He loved helping you with anything that you asked. And for the next ten or fifteen minutes, Ken helped mix the batter and set the small table. As you were pressing the batter into your heart-shaped waffle maker, you felt Ken's strong arms wrap around you. He nuzzled his nose into your hair before resting his chin on the top of your head, a content smile on his face. Reaching out for the plate on the counter, you stop, your fingers just brushing it. Turning slightly to look up at him, you gave him a small smile, "Kenny, honey, could you grab that plate for me? Currently, I can't reach it." You asked, your hands covering his hands on your stomach.
A smile on his face, Ken reached over. Grabbed the plate, he slid it over toward you, wrapping his arm back around you. Plating the first waffle, you poured more batter in the waffle maker, closing it. Ken hummed, taking his chance to turn you around in his arms, "You're so beautiful." He muttered dreamily, his blue eyes staring into yours. His hands trailed down your sides, his fingertips grazing the skin under your - his - shirt.
You felt like you were going to melt right then and there. Your cheeks began to burn as Ken continued to stare lovingly down at you. He leaned forward again, pressing his forehead against yours, you breathed in deeply, enjoying the scent of him mixed with the sweet smell of freshly baked waffles. "You're too sweet." You whispered, wrapping your arms around his neck, playing with his soft hair. Ken hummed again, placing a gentle kiss upon your lips; smirking lightly. It was short, but it was perfect. "You're beautiful too." You added, your lips brushing against his as you spoke.
Opening his eyes, he looked down at you with an adoring - yet shocked - gaze, "You think I'm beautiful?"
"Of course," You chuckled lightly, "You're perfect." Leaning forward, you captured his lips again in another sweet kiss, relishing the warmth he emitted. "I mean that. I love you." You whispered, holding his cheeks between your hands.
Smiling brightly, Ken beamed confidently, "I love you too." He replied with such conviction, pulling you back into him as you finished making breakfast.
~~~
"Kenny! Honey, you ready?" You called by the front door, finishing tying your boots. Hearing the soft thuds of feet, you looked up, watching as Ken walked over, fiddling with his blue gloves. You couldn't stop the smile that spread across your features at just the sight of him. Wearing a puffy, bright blue jacket, warm pants, and pink fuzzy socks; he gave you his charming smile. Resting your hands on your hips, you tilted your head to the side, "My, my, looking good, blondie." You cooed teasingly, watching as he blushed profusely, averting his gaze. Lacing his boots, you grabbed his pink beanie and blue scarf from the wooden shelf beside you on the wall. Ken fixed the gloves as you placed his beanie over his head, and wrapped his scarf around him. Your hand on his bicep, you reached up on your toes to brush his hair away from his forehead and eyes. Ken simply watched you do so, your touch sending shivers through his body, as well as a tingle that ran through his arm from your fingers. Shutting his eyes, Ken pursed his lips; immediately, you knew what he was asking. Letting out a breathy chuckle, you pressing a chaste kiss to his lips, a triumphant grin settling on his face. Stepping back to admire your work, smirking lightly. "So handsome and ready to head out into the cold."
Ken seemed to stand up straighter, puffing his chest out at your praise. An odd sensation settled in his stomach; it felt like butterflies. Taking your purple gloved hand in his, he interlaced his fingers with yours; mixing blue with purple. “Thank you, Y/N,” You giggled, gently squeezing his hand, and leading him out of the house.
Immediately, Ken's eyes widened as he stepped out into the snow. Now, he had seen snow before - though it was always plastic - he had never seen Real World snow before. And he was mesmerized by it all. He held your hand tight as he looked up at the falling snow, a grin forming on his lips as he watched the snow gently fall to the snowy ground; in awe.
Sprinting into the middle of the yard, you spun around, arms out wide as you stared up at the falling snow; a bright smile on your face, and a bit of laughter spilled out from you. A gust of wind blew past, chilling your skin, but you paid it no mind. Instead, you continued to gaze upward, completely entranced. Ken watched you silently, trying to soak in every detail of this moment, this magical scene. His heart fluttered, the way you laughed; carefree. It made his chest tighten with emotion.
"Isn't it pretty?" You asked as you slowed your spinning to a stop, a little bit out of breath, the smile on your face unmoving as you walked back over to him.
"Yeah... Pretty." Ken agreed, but he wasn't talking about the snow.
Chuckling, you nodded, leaning your head on his shoulder. Moving further from the beach was totally worth it. You missed spending time in the snow. But you knew Ken loved the beach, so you made sure that you took him there whenever you could. When not working, you’d drive the two hours just to see Ken's smile and his eyes sparkle at the sight of the crashing waves.
"Ken, I want to show you something." You said, tugging lightly on his hand, guiding him forward with you. Ken watched as you let go of his hand, and stepped back a few steps, before falling backward; starfished in the snow.
A bit confused, but more so curious, Ken followed you. Falling down in the snow beside you. Looking over at you, Ken spoke, "This is nice," Ken spoke, making you laugh.
"That's not all," You began moving your arms and legs, creating a snow angel. Ken followed suit, mimicking your movements. After you were finished, you carefully stood before helping Ken stand up. "See?" You gestured to the two snow angels, "We just made snow angels."
"So cool," Ken answered, his arm wrapping around your shoulder, pulling you close to his side. Looking down at you, Ken spoke, "What do we do now?"
"Hmm," You wrapped your arms around him, meeting his gaze, "Do you want to build a snowman?" You asked, and he nodded enthusiastically. "Then let's get started!"
"How do you make a snowman?" Ken asked, watching as you crouched on the ground, gathering the snow in your hands. This type of snow was far from what he was used to.
"Here, let me show you." You gestured to the ground next to you. Ken shuffled over, his puffy jacket scrunching slightly as he sat down beside you. "Okay, first you get some snow..." You trailed off, shoveling snow closer to you with your hands, "And then you pack it all together into a big ball, round thing." You rolled the large snowball in your hands, it was probably no bigger than a watermelon. All the while, Ken was comparing Barbie Land snowmen to Real World snowmen.
But Ken watched you, his eyes slowly trailing from your hands, up the arms of your puffy, green jacket, passing your shoulders, and up to your face. Ken was trying so hard to pay attention to you, he really was. But no sound escaped from your moving lips. And as the snow fell around you, catching on your shoulders, the top of your yellow beanie, and the tips of your eyelashes; Ken couldn't look away. The snow seemed to fall in slow motion, glittering and sparkling around you - the sun hitting your frame just right. Ken was completely enraptured by you - surrounded by the frozen paradise.
He couldn't take his eyes off of you. Your smile made him smile, and you looked so incredibly beautiful, as always. You were his everything, Ken loved you, and you knew that. It was evident in every little thing he did, and pretty obvious because he told you practically ten times a day. He just couldn't get enough of you.
"Ken?" You called out to him, looking up at him after he took a bit too long to answer your question. The expression on his face made your heart skip a beat. His eyes were full of love; pure and unadulterated. "Kenny?" You repeated, feeling quite warm even as the snow began to dampen your pants, seeping onto your legs.
"Hmm?" Ken blinked, for a moment, he was at a loss for words, they seemed to have died on his tongue. "Sorry, Y/N. You're just so pretty, especially in the snow," He apologized sheepishly, smiling.
You felt your heart burst, leaning forward, you pulled him into a hug, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck. Kissing his cheek, you whispered softly, "Thank you." Pressing another, more lingering, kiss against his cheek; he sighed, happily overwhelmed by you. You pulled back, your lips curving upwards as he smiled widely back at you. "Well, while you were admiring me, I finished Frank." You continued, gesturing to the snowman.
Tilting his head, Ken frowned, confused, "Frank?" He asked, and you nodded, pulling off the beanie from your head and placing it on the snowman's.
"Yeah, I named him." Subconsciously leaning into Ken's side, "We don't have carrots, so we can't give him a nose. And I’m feeling a bit too lazy to find any rocks or sticks, so I guess Frank's not going to have a face or arms." You muttered with a laugh, "He has a killer hat though." Glancing up at Ken, you raised an eyebrow, "Do you want to give him a last name?" You asked, and instantly Ken's eyes lit up, and he nodded his head rapidly.
"Horse." He answered simply, and you paused before agreeing.
"Yeah, that's a great last name, Ken." You answered, your grin matching his, "Frank Horse."
Reaching up, Ken unwrapped his scarf and leaned forward slightly to wrap it around Frank the snowman. "I like Frank Horse," Ken grinned, sitting back, wrapping his arms around you once again, "And now he's perfect." He mumbled, as you wrapped your arms around his waist, resting the side of your face on his chest as you listened to his heartbeat; a small chuckle escaping you as he nuzzled his nose into your hair. As you let out a shiver, Ken’s eyes widened and he quickly pulled you up to stand with him. Looking down at you with the cutest face of concern that you had ever seen, he noticed that your eyes were beginning to droop and your breath had begun to swirl in the air. Tugging off a glove, he pressed his warm hand onto your cheek, and you instantly turned your head to nuzzle into it; pressing a kiss into his palm with your cold lips. "You're cold. Let's go inside. I don't want you to get sick."
Letting out a soft sigh, you reluctantly nodded your head, closing your eyes for a second. Opening them, they widened as Ken wrapped an arm around your back and under your knees, lifting you up into his arms; bridal style. "Ken!" You exclaimed, letting out a laugh as you looped your frigid hands around his neck, "I can walk, the door is only a couple of feet away." You spoke, but Ken only shook his head, a determined frown on his face.
"Nu-uh, I don't want you to get sick." He spoke as he began walking to the front door.
Gazing up at him, you sighed softly, not bothering to fight with him any longer; you knew he was stubborn, but he was too cute and you loved just being in his arms. Resting your head against his chest, you dug your cold nose into the side of his neck, making Ken suck in a breath.
Once inside, Ken sat you down on the small wooden bench, propping himself up on one knee as he helped tug off your snowy boots. You let him, your eyes half-lidded as you watched him unlace your boots, sliding them off of your feet and setting them with the rest of the shoes on the shoe rack. He then reached forward to unwrap your scarf before carefully unzipping your jacket, making sure the melting snow on it didn't touch you. You simply sat back and admired the man before you, a fondness spreading throughout your chest at how attentive he was being towards you.
Once you were out of your winter attire, Ken did the same for himself before helping you up off the bench with an outstretched hand. "Guess we'll have to have a snowball fight tomorrow if the snow stays," You muttered, looking up at Ken with a sleepy smile. Spending time in the snow always makes you a bit tired. "I might take a small nap before making lunch. Do you want me to find that horse documentary I saw on Netflix for you?"
Looking down at you, Ken returned your smile, "Can I please take a nap with you?" He asked, and you chuckled, nodding your head.
Smiling wider, Ken led you upstairs and into your shared room. You laid back on the bed, unabashedly watching as Ken threw off his shirt - chest muscular and perfect - and joined you. Ken immediately wrapped his arms around you, pulling the blankets over the both of you before reaching over you; shutting off the lamp on the bedside table.
Gazing at you, Ken's blue eyes shifted over your features; your soft lips, sparkling eyes, the wisps of hairs framing your face. Letting out a deep sigh, Ken grinned, "I'm the luckiest guy in the world."
"Oh, Ken," You gasped softly; melting from his words, not to mention the way he was looking at you, leaning up to gently brush your nose against his, "I guess that makes me pretty lucky too."
Wrapping your arms around his waist, you sighed; hands pressing into the warmth of his skin. Ken shivered slightly, a deep hum resonating from him - he loved it when you touched him - pulling you further into his chest, and lowering his head to nudge his nose into your soft hair again, inhaling your sweet scent; spellbound.
You closed your eyes, letting yourself fall deeper into the warmth of his body, taking a few moments to enjoy the peaceful silence around the two of you. A quiet yawn escaped you, causing Ken to tighten his grip around you, holding you close.
Leaning forwards, he kissed your forehead, whispering, "I love you…"
Pressing a kiss to his chest in return, you sighed, "And I love you, Ken."
plus sized reader hcs with margot!barbie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
margot robbie!barbie x fem!plus sized!reader.
summary: headcanons for barbie with a female plus-sized reader!
warnings: fatphobia, brief mention of starving yourself
a/n: i imagine this has been done before but i wanted my take on this!! this is the first time i've written headcanons as well as an x reader story so i apologize if things are a bit messy. reader uses she/her pronouns and this is for human barbie!
-----
barbie is all for body positivity.
that's why when she met you, she didn't even notice your weight. she saw you as a normal woman and treated you as such.
however, when you and barbie started dating, she quickly realized a lot of people didn't feel the same way.
so many people, for whatever reason, hate fat people. they treat it as an insult. they think all fat people are lazy and just lay around eating food all day.
it breaks barbie's heart.
back in barbieland, there were plenty of plus-sized barbies. nobody cared about their weight; everyone saw them as the beautiful and hard-working women they were.
so why is it that whenever barbie holds your hand as the two of you walk down the street, people shoot you disgusted looks? why do people always walk up to her and say, "you deserve so much better than that pig" like you're not the love of her life?
barbie isn't a violent person by any means. but when she sees the judgemental looks people give you when you order food, she wants to punch someone.
barbie's willing to defend you at all costs. she just thinks you're so beautiful and perfect. she doesn't understand how people could call you lazy when you work so hard every single day.
she hates whenever you talk negatively about your body. she'll always reassure you, insisting that she loves you no matter how much you weigh.
if you decide you wanna start trying to lose weight, she'll support you every second. she'll come with you to the gym if you want and she'll help you pick out foods that match your diet.
if you break those habits, she'll assure you that it's alright and you can try again whenever you feel up to it.
if you try starving yourself, barbie will immediately notice. she obviously doesn't wanna shove food down your throat and force you to eat, but she'll probably sternly talk to you and tell you how important it is to have food. afterward, she'll try to coax you back into eating by cooking your favorite meals.
overall, she's just very supportive of you. she wants nothing but the best for you and she loves you regardless of your size. <3
-----
once again i apologize if these are messy! not used to writing x reader stories or headcanons lmao. hope you all enjoy!
barbie x fem!reader
✪ going to the beach with barbie ✪
✧.* When you ask Barbie if she wants to go to the beach with you she immediately says yes. She's only been to the beach in barbieland before so going to a real beach sounds amazing to her.
✧.* You and barbie decide to wear matching pink bikinis. When you get there Barbie is amazed at how beautiful it is. The blue waves crashing into the sand, the people sunbathing and creating sandcastles.
✧.* Barbie can't swim but she enjoyed just being able to dip her feet into the water.
✧.* As you were swimming around in the water you could see Barbie picking up seashells on the shore. While you were getting out of the water she excitedly ran up to you and showed you the pretty seashells she found.
✧.* After a while you sat down on the sand and ate some of the food you brought. "We should make a sandcastle." You announced. "Totally." Barbie replied.
✧.* You two sat together on the sand trying to make a sandcastle. "Oh god it looks terrible." Barbie said with her hands on her thighs. You laughed: "Well we tried at least".
✧.* After creating your not-so-magnificent sandcastle you and Barbie decided to head home. A fun beach day was just what you needed.
Ken x gn!Reader as friends to lovers story
Tumblr media
A/n: my first fic on tumblr… and hopefully not the last;) also english is my second language so if you notice a mistake please write to me about it, 'cause i'm just learning and this will help me a lot.
Summary: A real world reader finds a box of vinyl records in Ken's house, which leads to an unexpected turn of events.
Genre: fluff, comfort, friends to lovers;
Song played in fic: Biggest Part of Me by Ambrosia;
World count: 805 words;
Hope you enjoy!
***
"Ken, can I borrow this, please?"
You point to a small box in the corner of Ken's House (and yes, as it turns out, it does really exist), right by the entrance. Although it may look small at first glance, if you take the lid off, you'll be genuinely surprised at how much can this thing hold. How many music records can this thing hold.
"Mmm," Ken turned to you in confusion, distracted from the very important task of destroying all available books about patriarchy (only those that mentioned horses survived).
As soon as Ken realized what you were pointing at, he jumped up and ran over to you.
"Oh, this thing..." He exhaled heavily, as if he didn't know how to describe it: "I brought it from your world... I haven't figured out how to use it yet. But it was fun to play with it in Frisbee, though."
You had to hold back your giggles, knowing full well that the box contained not a Frisbee but rather vinyl records of 80s rock hits.
"Ken... Don't worry, I know what it is, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend playing with it."
Ken looks at you in confusion, waiting for an explanation.
"Then what does it do?" Now his face was full of curiosity.
"Oh, it's music." You bit your lip, already anticipating that wave of the cutest delight in the entire universe on Ken's face. "My favorite music, for real. What a coincidence!"
"Ah, so that means we can listen to these little flat wheels?"
As difficult as it was, you still controlled your laughter because you didn't want to hurt your friend's feelings.
"Huh... Yes, Ken, wait a minute, I'll play you something."
You had noticed beforehand that the box contained a modern vinyl record player. The only question was where Ken had gotten it from, but you decided to put that aside for later. There are more important things to do now. For example, the culturalization of the inhabitants of Barbieland for unselfish purposes (or one particular inhabitant of Barbieland for, to be honest, a little bit of selfish purposes)
You could feel Ken's intrigued look on your back as you conscientiously chose which song to start your immersion in the deep culture of the 80s. Of course, you chose the one you thought Ken would like the most. Of course, it was a love song.
As the playful melody began to play on the record player, you were very pleased with yourself. But Ken was still on edge. So you wisely decided to relax him a little.
When the first words of Biggest Part of Me by Ambrosia touched your ears, you gently led the surprised Ken into a dance, grabbing him around the waist with one hand and intertwining your palms with the other. He was a little confused, but he quickly realized what was going on and began to follow your movements. His puzzlement turned into a gentle, homely smile, and those two crystal blue eyes look that always gave you goosebumps.
"It's a nice song." He spoke calmly and quietly, though there was no need for that. "Make a wish, baby, and I will make it come true."
He began to sing along to the beat of dance, which suddenly gave him control of the situation.
"I finally found someone who believes in me." Ken kept staring at you, still smiling gently. "I need your love here, next to me."
It seemed as if with every turn in the dance, your faces were getting closer together. And when you felt that you were crossing the line between friendly dancing and something closer and more romantic, you had to stop it. But you didn't want to.
"You're the biggest part of me".
Immediately after these words, Ken stopped singing. He thought for a moment and then confidently proclaimed:
"Hmm, really," he raised his eyebrows as if he had come to some brilliant conclusion, "I really feel like you are the biggest part of me."
You had to swallow because something strange and incomprehensible was preventing the answer from coming out of your throat. However, when you felt your cheeks burning, you realized that this strange and incomprehensible feeling was embarrassment. A very unusual kind of embarrassment, the kind that you shouldn't normally feel towards a friend.
"M-m", You understood that Ken was waiting for your answer, so you gathered all your willpower into a fist and said, "I feel something similar, Ken."
Ken's smile grew bigger, and his joy radiated from him like rays from the sun.
"I'm, ah, glad to hear that... Does that mean we can continue dancing?"
You smile back. Ken was charging you with positivity just by being there.
"Of course, Ken, as much as you want!"
You were both ready for the next song.
Thanks for reading! I'd also love to hear your ideas for the next Barbie fic, so see ya.)
Barbie (2023) has wlw references. Bombshell (2019) existed before Barbie (2023). And I'm seeing people linking Bombshell with Barbie just to say that Kate McKinnon predicted Margot Robbie as Barbie, BUT in BOMBSHELL there is a scene where they sleep together. So, Weirdo Barbie slept with Stereotypical Barbie.
