CHANGE OF PLANS - too cute

synopsis - yang yn. a sweet girl who is in love with a man who is, unfortunately, in love with someone else. all yn can do at this point is just hope that they cross paths. and they will… right?

as i take a sip of my drink, i slowly take a peek at taehyun through the top of my glasses. as expected, hes already looking at me. hes been sneaking glances at me this past hour.

clearing my throat, i decide to break the silence.

“i dont like this awkwardness.” i came out a little more straightforward than i thought i would be but thats not a bad thing.

“…sorry?”

“i dont like this awkwardness. so im gonna say whats on my mind and youre gonna listen.”

“…okay” taehyun whispers.

i sigh before speaking.

“i felt hurt when you left me alone that one day. i felt like you didnt care enough about my feelings that you didnt care if i was left alone. i might be stupid for being so mad over this, but it really hurt me taehyun. i just want to get past this so we can go back to being friends.” weight was lifted off my shoulders the second i stopped speaking. this whole thing has been so stressful and now that ive let it out, i feel good.

“im so sorry yn. i know ive said it almost a million times already but i really am. i shouldnt have left you alone without telling you. im glad you still want to be friends with me because i do too.” he smiles. that damn smile.

i smile back at him.

“how about this,” taehyun starts

“since we finished our project, let’s hang out” the suggestion had me taken aback. i was down, nonetheless.

“hmm what do you have in mind?”

he pauses to act like hes thinking.

“we could go to the park! the weather is beautiful today” i turn to the right and look out the window. it surely was beautiful outside.

the sky was blue. the sun was out but it wasnt too hot. there was a nice soft breeze that just felt so relaxing.

“that would be nice” i say with a smile.

we gather our stuff and then soon enough, we’re walking to the park. the park wasnt too far from the cafe we were previously at. it only takes a good 15 minutes to get there.

on our way to the park, me and taehyun passed by a flower shop. it was a cute shop and it inly had a few costumers inside.

“hold on yn, i need to get something real quick” then taehyun disappears into the flower shop. confused, i wait for him outside the shop.

i watch as couples walk by. hand in hand, giggling into each others’ ears.

i want that.

after a few minutes, taehyun finally comes out of the flower shop with a bouquet of pink tulips in his hand. he smiles as he extends his arm out and hands me the bouquet.

“for you”

i have the biggest smile on my face as i take a whiff of the pretty tulips. theyre beautiful.

“thank you taehyun. seriously these are beautifullll”

I’m gonna rank the couples in The Lunar Chronicles and explain why because I’m immensely bored I apologize in advance. And also just because it’s in a lower position doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing like there are only 4 spots-

Also SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES-

4th PLACE

WOLFLET- it’s the whole alpha thing that caused this I’m sorry like they need a lil more screen time and a lot less calling each other alpha. But I did really love them just not in the book Scarlet. I loved them in Cress and Winter when they were separated and it was just immense amounts of pining and I think they’re the most solid/loyal couple in the series like they’d do anything for each other and I love that. Honestly they’re a top tier couple and I wish we got more time with them like SOSN was peak because we got to see them being domestic and like adjusting I loved it. If they were put up against most other couples then they’d win I swear

3RD PLACE

CRESSWELL-these two were almost in 4th actually cuz they’re one of my least favourite tropes where it’s like “experienced suave guy who’s so hot and elite and older” and like “naive girl who’s never left her house and this is in fact the first human she’s spoken too” but somehow they made it enjoyable like I loved how she was like his sight in Cress and how well they work together. He also helps her come out of her shell and know her worth. I also love the fact that he’s a slut in recovery. They’re also the funniest couple and they also had the most slow burn which I enjoyed and I loved their ending. They’re very fun and again in any other circumstance in other list they’d be higher up (I also don’t like that Thorne’s 20+ and she’s 16 like it’s a lil weird-)

2ND PLACE

JACINTER-ok I’m kinda sad I put them in second and not first but yeah they’re my babies. They’re the best amalgamation of tropes I’ve ever seen like they’re childhood best friends to lovers, they’re forbidden love, they’re sun x moon (LISTEN HEAR ME OUT ON THIS), they’re grumpy x sunshine. I also love how much they genuinely adore each other and fight for each other to be safe as much as possible. They also have immense amounts of chemistry and tension in every scene they’re in. I also love that even though Winter is obviously the most vulnerable one in the relationship it doesn’t feel like he’s constantly doting on her like it feels equal like she doesn’t feel like a child being taken care of because of her mental health. I could talk about them hours like the pining the immense pining and the way they talk about and to each other it’s so beautiful like I miss them sm and they’re not popular enough like they’re the cutest I also have a headcanon that when they both move to Earth Jacin eventually retires from being her bodyguard and goes to medical school and they get to grow old somewhere where it always snows.

1ST PLACE

KAIDER- I love them they’re my favourite book couple ever actually like they’re like the first couple I ever genuinely shipped. And they were perfect in EVERY BOOK LIKE I WAS STRAPPED ON THIS TRAIN WITH THEM THEYRE SO ENDEARING AND PERFECT. Like ugh I genuinely had no notes on them for like bad stuff that I didn’t like. Like as I’m typing I’m think of criticism??? They’re so loyal to each other it’s makes me wanna BAWL AND THEYRE SO IN LOVE IT JUST YES. One of the main reasons I love them is because we had the two of them for so long like in Cinder it was only two POVs (if you don’t count Dr. Erland) and we got to see how they felt constantly and they’re such lil idiots and I love them like they’re it. I also love how much they compliment each other and bring out the best parts in the other if that makes sense like Kai learns a lot from her.They did almost lose to Jacinter tho and it came VERY CLOSE

HEy whats eros and cupid's relationship with eachother like? :0c are they friends?

i would say theyre friends! maybe something more but doesnt have a label! they have a pretty unique and complicated relationship!

i dont think i ever really talked about it much! cupid and eros get along but they also dont! its a symbiotic relationship! they need each other to survive! theyre like an old married couple!

they bicker, they fight, they disagree but at the end of the day; they'll still crawl into the same bed, apologize, and snuggle eachother to sleep!

think worrywart with flirty bastard and theyre both idiot morons passing a singular braincell back and forth! they both really hate eachother!

cupid is actually really scared of eros, not in a "hes gonna hurt me" way but in a "he might be too much and he'll get carried away" way! hes scared that eros will scare others and hurt himself (and hurt cupid too)! this plagues cupid, worries him to a fault because he cares a lot for eros. cupid doesnt want to lose eros or have eros decommission them with his antics so he locked eros away. eros laid dormant for years. YEARS! (wander mode was made to replace eros function. eros role was to roam the plex and give love fortune reading but since he was dormant for so long, staff had update cupid to fill in that role!) even though cupid cares a lot for eros, cupid is also kind of fed up with him too! eros makes him so flustered and riled up with his teasing! cupid hates and admires the way eros pushes the boundaries of others just to watch them squirm! he loves how fun, exuberant, and charming eros is! but he also hates it! he hates eros so much! but ouh, the way eros embodies the sun when he genuinely smiles is so infectious. but cupid would never admit that while eros is awake.

eros does hold resentment towards cupid for locking him away and lying about it for years! but despite all that, he still loves cupid very much! he tries not to let it bother him but it does! its not like he can talk about it to anyone either because cupid is always there in the back of his head. or front. to remedy that, eros is hard on cupid! usually by teasing, embarrassing him, setting him up, and just being mischievous! but sometimes, eros can be really mean to cupid– not in a playful teasing way either. eros doesnt really think about the consequences of his own actions, he just wanna have a good time and let loose! he has many, many admirers and he will never say no to a very good time with them. often leaving cupid to pick up the mess. he kind of hates that cupid is so careful and softspoken but at the same time, he loves it because it keeps them both safe. he hates that cupid has to be the one whos seen as mature when he knows theyre both idiots. but... he also appreciates and loves cupid for being his better half. not that hed ever admit that whenever cupid is awake!

they share the same body in my headworld, keeping true to sun/moon lore. they swap places once every few hours! 2 hours min– 4 hours max (PRE-EROS WAKING UP)! after booting eros up again, they can swap places on command somewhat. its like forcefully waking someone up or pushing them infront of you (especially when you dont wanna do something) and it's not easy when the other puts up a fight! when one of them forces the other out, it resets their timer! they do this often when they dont wanna deal with something and it makes them bicker and fight in their headspace!

their AI's are linked and intertwined, sharing the same codes! If someone tried to or is successful in separating them, one of two things will happen!

The other one stops existing or something else! no one knows for sure because no one has tried! no one knows which one would drop dead either, it doesn't say in their manual!

Afton Virus au question: (Yeh, same anon, again) I don't know if I didn't understand correctly, but reader hurt his hands or lost his arms? Since once when you drew them you did it with metal arms, but I doubt that this can be fixed with chemotherapy. Also, aren't children curious about what happened to his hands? They are small and curious, they would probably think that reader is some kind of bot even more advanced than moon and sun and they would be interested. Also, is Reader still having trouble sleeping and controlling anxiety? And lastly, how would reader react to an abusive parent? I know he causes harm to the fazbear high command, but also to those outside of it if they deserve it or is his hatred directed only at them? Would Sol and Luna be the ones to take care of them? After all they are infected, I think they would be capable of harming an adult (even children if we look at gregory) and it would be twice as lethal with both of them in separate bodies.

reader hurt his hands or lost his arms?

Either-or! It doesn’t matter too much to the AU beyond ‘how did they make their new hands?’, so I’m not super set on whichever. I personally imagine that their hands got crushed in some machine and they panicked, stuck with both hands pinned, and (even though they knew better) they snatched their hands away (which of course just made the resulting injuries worse). Without being too graphic about it, their hands were broken and cut to ribbons and had to be surgically put back together. Unable to cope with losing their dreams, they made themselves a sort of splint/brace that helps them keep their hands steadier and more reliable, and to keep it from looking freaky or scaring kids they either made them look like gloves or covered them with gloves.

aren't children curious about what happened to his hands?

Oh sure! Of course they are, and Reader entertains their curiosity but changes the story every time. Some days they got taken by aliens and just woke up like this, sometimes they’re on their robot-mad-scientist-villain arc and this is just the beginning, other days theyve secretly been a robot this whole time, etc etc

Also, is Reader still having trouble sleeping and controlling anxiety?

Oh definitely. A lot of their anxiety gets twisted into anger and spite, but their insomnia is now coupled with night terrors and its bad enough that they have to take medicine before theyre willing to attempt to sleep. They hate sleeping without the medicine because when they do they wake up afraid and in pain. (It helps when Moon is there tho Moon has Good Sleep aura)

how would reader react to an abusive parent? I know he causes harm to the fazbear high command, but also to those outside of it if they deserve it or is his hatred directed only at them? Would Sol and Luna be the ones to take care of them?

Oh their hatred is pretty inclusive. If they think you’re a shitty person to such a degree that its affecting the people around you? You’re on the chopping block. And if it was a parent being cruel to their own KID?? Better make peace with ur demons bc u got a big storm coming. I feel like if Reader knew any of the parents were being abusive, it would be a joint effort between them, Sun, and Moon to wreak some havoc on the fucker- and by god, they would be good at it. There aint a soul on this earth that could save a shitty parents hide once those three set their sights on em

MAKOTO AND ANZU ARE THE CUTEST. EPIC GAMER LOSER BF AND GIRLBOSS/GIRLFAIL GF COMBO. idk if it makes sense but they're like. hs sweethearts that never actually got together in hs and only realized it later when they reconnect or something that they're so totally in love. also he's just so damn goofy it balances out her more serious side that took over after her failed rebellion attempt at kimisaki. like he'd start calling her his favourite trouble maker if he heard that story. OOOOUUU MAYBE HE'D EVEN START CALLING HER ANGIE AND SHE NEARLY CRIES BC NO ONE CALLS HER THAT ANYMORE BESIDES HER BROTHER. idk they're sweet.

the first time they do it together, they're both so awkward that it's funny but they're so comfy with each other that it isn't a problem. in my mind, mako tries to lead at first but when it gets too hot and heavy, anzu takes charge. they seem like the most realistic couple out there with the least amount of angst~

okay now to talk about Makoto's gaming buddy with her instead HFDSF. i feel like this anzu ship is a lil underrated. i personally love it. he has canonically given in to her like 🥺 face. they're relationship is basically jun teasing her and anzu pouting until he feels bad and it's cute. moon and sun vibe. also. jun is in eden/eve. he has money he's not spendin on himself. he may not give the most lavish gifts or even the most gifts in terms of anzu ships, but he does buy her little trinkets and stuff. more often than not though he's just paying for her meals. even with gatekeeper cash and the anzu fund made in the graduation story, he's not letting her spend a cent if she doesn't have to. if questioned he'd just be like "Haaah? Ain't it rude to make the lady pay?" but in reality he just wants to spoil her. the entirety of trickstar is gonna start questioning her though if they notice they're getting close. And i bet ibara is going to investigate why half of eve is meddling with the competition's producer.

their first time is spontaneous. they never talked before hand about it or whatever. it probably was them destressing from a hard day at work. PERSONALLY- i think they did it in the ES gym~ and god anzu was so scared theyd get caught. BOTH of them know Ibara goes down to the gym after work but luckily a meeting ran long or something because by the time they were done and dressed, they could just pass it off as training when ibara walked in.

HiMEAnzu

okay this is definitely a rare one- but a ship ive grown fond of the more i thought about it. meru and anzu are both work oriented, but still a little silly deep down. so when they relax and get to know each other, they find the others presence so calming. he admires her for her work ethic and she does the same. god im pulling out the first idol story interactions with this one as well- he let his guard down near completely when they first meet. and he says something like "like attracts like" or something like they're kindred spirits and that he's fallen for her. that last part was probs just his attempt at joking fanservice, but he is aware that he could easily pull anyone he wants to. for anzu to just talk normally with him, he thinks it's refreshing and honestly- being in a unit like crazyb, he would want someone calm like her to be around.

here's the big catch though: meru would never risk kaname's idol image by dating ANYONE. let alone the person known as "everyones producer." so this ship is BUILT for "at arms length" pining/"we'll never know what could've been" angst

their first time is the most planned out of all three of these ships. not on anzu's side, but himerus. meru is really meticulous with his image and he respects anzu. so if he's going to do something with her, he's going to do it right and make sure they have the most privacy possible. it's def something that happens after a VERY romantic date. possibly an anniversary. he gets incredibly intimate. maybe he'd even start talking in first person. this is, after all, not a performance for anyone. he just wants to share this moment with anzu. that being said they go on for a long ass time because meru has stamina and anzu can get insatiable if teased long enough.

and yeah!! i do have a couple of wips i want to rant about kajfhkjah

the first ima shout about (it also might be my favorite but shhh) is a 3rd life renaissance faire au :D its currently treebark and dogwarts centric and is quite literally full of half formed sentences and contextless dialogue, but theres three pages of worldbuilding and plot and im really happy with it so far :D, rens the king of dogwarts (the kingdom the faires set in), and the dogwarts army are, well, the knights of dogwarts. and you know martyn's creeper prank? he makes goose noises instead cause its hilarious and it still scares the crap out of everyone but scott asjkjafh. and ima stop there i dont want to reveal any more cause spoilers askjfhas

another wip is post-canon joel's empires s2 finale!! he is regretting a lot of things and theres three more joels than usual. its likely going to be multichap and full of angst (if i can actually make angst without adding puns into it asjksajfh) with a happy (?) ending :D

a third im hyped about is a waterpark au of sorts, based off of ethos old turf war minigame, The RipZone!! its mostly mycelium resistance centric, purely because i have more of a grasp on writing them than the hep. im not quite sure where to plots going for this one, but i have just enough planned out to be insane about it askdjfaskjfh. theyre highschool ago and its set in australia, at the end of the year, so its the beginning of summer and schools just let out (prime waterpark time babayyy)

and the last is another limited life coral kids fic woooo!! the working title is 'whats your favorite constellation?' and i feel it captures the vibes im going for surprisingly well. its barely written and im hoping it wont be as long as the last lmao, im thinking only about 1k words, and it also wont be explicitly romantic. im playing off of the concept of giving each winner being assigned / associated with a symbol (sun, stars, moon, etc.), and the general fandom confusion on what to give to martyn. and wait i wrote a lil synopsis thing for this like two days ago hold on

'centred on scott and martyn, ties tower has just (or is being) constructed, scott's built them a base, the chaos of bread bridge hasnt quite begun. and, while laying on their beds under the sky, scott talks about the stars above them, lamenting about a past life. martyn and scott discuss the dilemma that is the death games. scott doesnt want to win again and they wonder if martyn's going to win this time. martyns not sure if he wants to (he does). they mostly talk about the stars though, and their favourite constellation. its supposed to be nice and calm, fairly reminiscent of the calm before a storm.'

i edited it a bit, but i reckon its still got the vibes down pretty good :D

oh and also, the fics im probably most proud so far are htgth, really the podcast au in general, and surface of the seas :D

i chose htgth / the podcast au quite a few reasons! theyre the first works i ever finished and published, and, excuse my ego /hj, but, im so happy with the way i got the bad boy's voices to fit really well!! i was (and still am honestly) shocked on how well i wrote them!! (also i really like htgth cause i set myself up some plot points im excited to build up on whenever i get back to writing it akhkfasjhf)

and surface of the seas, partly bc im just really proud of myself for writing that much ksfksajdfh. i think i mostly like it cause the little narrative comparisons and bits of lore just scattered around it :D also when i was almost finished, tying up the loose ends n stuff, it was at around 3-4k and the word count just kept going up its funny now but it was quite daunting when it was happening askfjhahfs.

oh and also maybe ive lost a piece of me, almost purely because of the puns :D

this post is a dump dedicated of (mostly has shu + mysta) ideas i had. think of it as a list... a very disorganized list ill edit more as i continue having them.

some of them might not be safe for work though, so please bear in mind.

they will be placed under read more.

SHIP IDEAS:

-> cat owner ike eveland with his 2 cats, shu and mysta (myshu focused)

-> unhinged couple, shu and mysta. where shu observes to see if a person is worth their time, if not he tells mysta to beat them up with no mercy.

-> ike and shu gives mysta plushies just to see mysta's eyes sparkle with joy

-> eki and akarino first meeting starting off wrong but as time goes on, eki becomes protective of akarino.

-> yamino bridal carrying hikarino.

-> eki giving akarino long dresses (mostly in white) just to see how pretty akarino is, but akarino trips a lot so it gives eki an excuse to carry him around and get blood on the white dress.

-> mysta who doesn't remember his childhood and shu who never had a childhood, both of them watch silly kids cartoons and get toys they never experienced as children.

-> mysta and shu incredibly sweet tooth all the bakeries know them as the "couple" who orders a lot of sweets to the point they get a discount from them. mysta and shu go to different bakeries one time and order something the other likes.

-> where ike goes to a bakery to give luca, who broke his leg, a get well soon cake and meets mysta, the one whos running the bakery and thought mysta is cute. they talk until vox calles ike via his phone on where is he and the cake.

well their family is just. very. regular i guess?? wjhdhkf thats the only way i can describe it. their parents split up not long after marcus was born, and now they have TWO mums. and then morgan came out as a lesbian, and there was a whole joke about marcus also coming out as a lesbian at some point. but then he broke that gag by being Gay and Trans. good for him. anyway they love each other SO much theyre a very tigh-knit family who would do anything for each other it's VERY sweet i love them all so much

🍧 SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?

they have a LOT of things from their childhood still, mostly little crafts they made together. the most important thing though are the matching necklaces that they made, they're like. 15 years old at this point and have been repaired countless times over the years, and despite it all they both still wear them almost every day. they'd both be pretty devastated if they were to be lost. they could make new ones but it wouldn't be the same.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

morgan's greatest wish is very simple, she just wants a house with a porch so she can put a rocking chair on it, and sit in it and make her little crafts while watching the sun + feeling the fresh air. she and lou don't have the best paying job ever so it's taking a LOT of time to save up, but she is very patient. they're getting there. slowly but surely. she also has a little crafting business on the side which helps with extra money for a house. she IS going to get it one day.

and marcus. hrgghghh. HM. hmm. more than anything he just wants to be happy and at peace. not that he's not happy now, but it's very hard sometimes considering the kinda shit he's going through every day. he's got a long way to go before he gets there, a lot of bridges to burn, but he'll make it. he's Determined. and well. he has his family to help him through it

🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?

morgan is very loud and confident, do there's not much she really wants to hide, bc she's very happy with herself, but if there Was something, it'd probably be the fact that she gets anxious sometimes. which is Just Fine but every now and again she feels like she shouldn't be allowed to feel that way, and constantly needs to keep up her Positive appearance, or everyone will be upset or disappointed or whatever. she knows it's not true but she does get very down about it sometimes.

marcus sweet baby boy marcus. he thinks he's a freak. he sees ghosts, which should be a thing that's normal in this world, but people choose to believe otherwise despite all the evidence. and because of that, he feels like an outcast. it's fairly easy to hide, but sometimes it does make him extremely sick, and he can't just be telling random people "oh yeah it's the ghosts lol" every time he passes out or throws up or whatever. so he just has to be like. dont even worry about it i've just got Problems. seeing ghosts does make him act a little weird and skittish and jumpy sometimes, and he doesn't want people thinking he's even weirder than he already seems. so he's just. very much stuck in this cycle of being ashamed of his entire existence, and having to completely bury who he is in order to blend in with everyone else.

🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about?

they both have adhd and a lot of their interests overlap so they will talk to each other for HOURS about rocks, john car/penter movies, a couple of video games, stuff like that. separately though, morgan can talk forever and a day about frogs. and for marcus, urban planning [im projecting sorry], and radiation/nuclear energy. i would love to have a conversation with them both

UH. I DONT WANT TO MAKE MYSELF SAD BUT SHJDHJG probably that they're not loved, that they're freaks, annoying, etc etc. you know. Normal Stuff people worry about. AND that the other was injured in some way or another, or got in an accident or something [not foreshadowing anything. heh. ehHEh.eghcCOGHG]

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

around each other and family/close friends, they are very unapologetically themselves. even out of close circles, morgan is still very much the same, never really felt the need to change who she was to be palatable to other people. she is LOUD and everyone has to accept it.

marcus is a very very anxious little man, he can talk to people but he's generally very quiet/fidgety/reserved at first, and it takes a few weeks, sometimes even months, to warm up to people and really get comfortable being around them. and even longer than that [in most cases] to feel fully comfortable being Himself.

🔪 KNIFE - how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

i imagine morgan would feel extremely guilty about it if marcus got injured, bc he's her younger brother, and she should have protected him more, even though that's not the case at all. marcus would feel like he didn't do a good job looking out for her as well, but probably a little less on account of being the younger one. does that. make sense god i hope so hjgshj

outside of that, i don't think they'd blame themselves for other people's misfortunes [lou + jason specifically], bc they're their own people, they can handle themselves, theyre strong enough etc etc, but they'd still feel somewhat guilty for not being there to help, even though generally it would change Nothing bc lou and jason LOVE putting themselves in situations. their help would maybe just, get them a little less injured.

they'd understandably be upset about it, and morgan has a bit of a calmer head than marcus, so he would completely overthink everything and go into Worry Overdrive, while morgan is like it's fine, they're fine, they'll heal. It's Fine. still a little bit worried though. but they both do try to help in the healing process as much as they can.

✏️ PENCIL - is there a particular quote / lyric that you associate with them?

this is going to make my brain explode i cannot possibly begin to explain it in a way that anyone can comprehend but for marcus. saturn by sleeping at last. thanks

and for morgan it's not that deep i just really strongly relate her to that post thats like "a skeleton waving goodbye or maybe hello" bc i know she would find that absolutely Hilarious and would crack up every time she saw it. and then every time she'd remember it, it would become a vocal stim for the next week.

🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?

morgan trusts VERY easily, not to say it hasn't blown up in her face before, but she always tries her best to see the good in people, no matter what. she'd only turn her back on someone if they turned out to be really shitty, and she is a very good judge of character and has no issue with doing that. if someone makes her unhappy, she's more than willing to drop them in an instant. she wouldn't betray anyone she would feel SO bad about it.

marcus. HGIHghfdkhwekjghfdskgh he did. he did trust people once!!!!!! HE DID!! HE TRUSTED WITH HIS WHOLE ENTIRE HEART!! and then!! the one boyfriend he ever had. turns out he was being cheated on the entire time! and he didn't even learn that until THREE ENTIRE MONTHS AFTER said bf completely ghosted him. so now he definitely does not trust anyone, other than his family + lou. i mean, he will trust people in the general sense, but he would never really trust someone with his feelings, because he's scared of it happening again. the one relationship he had, and he thinks it's going to happen again and again and again. BUT it doesn't. it doesn't. he just doesn't know that yet <3 he would ABSOLUTELY turn his back on + betray someone like that of course he would no questions asked.

marcus caught himself daydreaming a Lot about holding hands with jason a little after they first met and he was So embarrassed about it he considered just. straight up running away. stealing the car and launching himself into the sun. or the ocean. he can't even drive but he was more than willing to speed off into the sunset and never return.

Time in the Other World

so we all know time is Not Real TM and that the whole sleeping for 8 hours thing is totally made up because circadian rhythms are all kinds of fucky ((idk fully what im talking about u get me)) and its even MORESO FUCKY in the Other World

Bit of Lore That is SO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to every single other piece of info about the Other World: A couple centuries ago a Cataclysmic Event TM took place in the Other World resulting in the world basically ceasing its rotation entirely, meaning a day in the Other World is equal to a year, where each season is basically a time of day. The superstitious attribute this to the previous celestial trio Ewa, Ursa, and Altair the moon, sun, and star witches of the time, and say that the trio was CursedTM or something so they could never work together again "lest the Yonderworld fall down on us" so now during the summer only the sun is visible (day), during autumn only the sun and moon are visible (sunset), during winter only the moon and stars are visible (night), and during spring only the sun and stars are visible (sunrise).

Because of the lack of your typical 24-hour day, people's circadian rhythms are ALL fucked up to the point where there is never a time where most or all people are asleep, so like you'll never get to experience the whole "I'm the only person awake in my house at 4:00 AM" Lo-Fi playlist aesthetic. This also means really populated areas are generally less crowded on average, as half the population is asleep. This also means that, let's say you live in a pretty small town where you know literally everyone and have a really consistent sleep schedule, if one day you decide to stay awake during the time you and everyone else you know is usually asleep, you will find yourself in a COMPLETELY different environment full of total strangers despite technically being neighbors with them your entire life.

The Clock & Calendar: First of all, clocks are absolutely everywhere. They're one of, if not the most, important tools to the Other World. Every single building has a clock on it. Another important detail is that they aren't formatted like 12-hour clocks; they're 10. This doesn't mean days are 20 hours long, it means what this society uses as "days" are 10 hours long each, resulting in there being about 860 "days" in a year + 16 days for seasonal shifts ((i really wanted there to be 1000 but alas, i cant bring myself to make years different lengths between earth and the Other World since theyre supposed to be like. occupying the same space just in two different dimensions if that makes sense)). There is also more than one word for "day" with the way people speak, but due to how the Alltongue Spell works, it doesn't really translate for people from Earth, so the second word translates as "night" even though it is really just a way to differentiate between days where around half the population is awake or asleep. There are also a lot of outliers, where people's schedules don't line up with the days. A lot of older folks get Weird about this, but to pretty much everyone else it's seen as normal, and days are seen as a way of organization rather than strict schedules.

Seasons: Every season is 215 days (i think i did the math right) with 4 days marking the shift between seasons, meaning it's technically 219 days but the 4 extra days are not counted as part of the year. I still have to come up with some more concrete holidays, will get to that Eventually.

Because of how long the sun is out or gone for, a LOT of things in the Other World have adapted and changed ((both naturally and with human intervention)) drastically or simply died out, which includes a lot of people who died during and immediately after. The most immediately visible differences if you are a human entering the Other World for the first time are the plants, especially if you arrive during late Autumn or Winter. While trees on Earth drop their leaves once during autumn and grow them back for spring, Other World trees drop them twice. The "daytime" or spring/summer leaves are very thin and dark, and almost all plants radiate a lot of heat as well to compensate for the super intense sun exposure. Instead of just dropping their leaves all throughout autumn and remaining without them through winter, there is a sort of "fifth season" that overlaps between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn where the leaves drop and then for the rest of autumn and winter, new leaves grow back. The new leaves are a bit thicker but a lot less wide, taking a shape closer to pine needles, and are bioluminescent. The light each species of plant produces is actually not able to be used by other plants in the same species but is used by other plants and vice versa. Forests become extremely bright and colorful, and every plant helps each other survive in a very visible symbiotic relationship.

The tree cycles are one of the reasons why winter is often revered as a life-giving season, like how spring and summer are treated on Earth (at least where im from), while summer is seen as the season of death and rebirth like autumn and winter here.

Unfortunately, because the Other World is tilted on its axis like Earth is, it means the southern hemisphere is just in constant winter, so very few people live there (especially since yknow. a lot of people probably died during the first years post-apocalypse).

(I know youre in your ER mood but this is just a random thought I figured youd be interested in) So y'know how if humans don't see the sun/have regularly sunlight they start to get irritable and wonky and have a bad sense of time? Like even tho we don't need sun for food or anything like that, we still need it to regulate our sleep and what not. I'm starting to think there are bugs like that, and how that might cause problems for them. Obviously bugs species who live their entire lives in the dirt/dark don't have that problem. But bugs who typically do have that di/nocturnal sleep schedule might have a difficult time underground. It's why I think the moths have their settlement on top of the peak, they needed the sun and moon to have their natural sleep schedule. It would also explain why Dirtmouth has a bit of settlement, for bugs who wanted/needed that normal day/night cycle. All this to say, do you think some bugs (say butterflies like Lurien and Marissa, cuz I think theyre diurnal.) have a couple of sleep/energy issues because of being underground all the time? Sure vitamin D supplements could help offset some of it like we do, but do you think there will still be issues?

Oh dw, even though I'm in my Elden Ring phase rn, Hollow Knight is pretty much a special interest for me. I'm always down for some bug thoughts, even though rn my brain is currently chanting 'nihil! nihil! NIHIL!' over and over again (thanks for that Mohg).

But yeah, I totally agree with you there! That actually might be one of the reasons why the Moth Tribe dissapeared after the fall of the Radiance- while there's no canon evidence pointing to what wrecked their numbers, it could be that the loss of a day/night cycle was something that bothered them to the point of either needing to forcefully adapt to it, or leave their homelands. I don't think that PK did anything to them outright, because it would have been a waste of followers to have done so (and he's just not the sort to actively deal with any issues, anyways- he didn't true-kill Radi, for example, and we all know how that bit him in the ass), but the loss of the sun for a tribe that worshiped a source of warmth and light would certainly have a drastic effect on their wellbeing, and made them less able to compete with underground insects like the beetle tribe, who were naturally accustomed to the dark.

As for Luri and Mari, the answer is most certainly yes. Lurien might not be aware of it at all, since I hc that he's an immigrant child who never knew anything other than Hallownest, but Marissa might, and it could be why both of them have a sort of melancholy air to them- which, yeah, Marissa's fuckin dead, but most spirits don't seem to realize that fact, so I think it's safe to say that her sad vibe might be due to the fact that butterflies are just not naturally suited for Hallownest. She probably regulated that with crystal lamps and dietary supplements to keep her going through the eternal night, but Lurien himself would not have known about such deficits, which dovetails neatly into my hc for his depression/anxiety/general sleep issues

Couples' Synopsis 🗯: Brett (yes her name is Brett) is a more liberal pop-chic, glamour, outgoing type of woman. Ryan is conservative, country music, outdoorsy, camo hunter, introverted guy. So far up to episode 11, they arent really into each other but they get along okay. You can tell that there isnt much of a spark, yet they still participate in activites. First day of the wedding, they were like oil and water as Brett felt uncomfortable with Ryan's lifestyle and views as she grew up in a more socially relaxed upbringing. Ryan is more quiet and soft spoken so although he peeps things he doesn't say much. Brett leads most of their activities together and although she is aware of their differences she's modest and optimistic about it. They dont argue theyve just sorta accepted how different they are and casually press on. They look more like coworkers that dont talk much. Ryan has gone on to say that he doesnt feel a connection with Brett and so he doesnt put in much effort toward the relationship. I created a poll amongst fans asking if they think Ryan's lack of connection is valid OR should he try more to make it work as Brett does? The results were 55% with 75 participants leaning towards them just not being a good fit. I agree in that regard.

Below is an example I give for basic synastry clients. One thing astrology doesnt account for is having a connection, as 2 people can be completely incompatible yet still crave each other in a love/lust way. Ive also seen couples that had highly compatible charts but they werent interested in each other. As an empath they are very sensitive to the feelings of others and do things to try to keep the peace. Because both are introverted, slow paced, and sensitive emotionally this pairing works well. Although Ive never seen them argue, I can predict that Ryan is more on the sensitive side and very matter of fact, while Brett may attempt to get her point across then cave-in once Ryan is noticeably uncomfortable. Although they may be able to trigger each other in the mood by way of Venus, Capricorn mars prefers more slow and steady lovemaking, while Librans like things more fast paced and fun in the bedroom. Im willing to bet that Ryan enjoyed Tantric yoga more than Brett did.

When it comes to aspects traditionally I would break down them all, but when first looking at someone's chart in a basic synastry standpoint, I analyze longevity factors first. Such as aspects to Saturn, Pluto, North Node, and at times Juno. But to keep this shorter, I'll stick to the 3 major aspects. Conjunctions, Trines, Squares

😇 Saturn Trine North Node - support each others growth through maturity and discipline

👥Saturn Conjunct Uranus -traditionalist vs nonconformist, the unexpected and practical nature of each other is beneficial, but feelings of restriction or unpredictability can crumble the relationship

💣Saturn Square Moon - saturn sees moon as overly sensitive while moon feels restricted. It grows worse over time as each feel misunderstood, its up to Saturn to reconcile this issue by being more attentive.

😇North Node Trine Mercury - Mercury stimulates North Node's intellect regarding their purpose and karma in unexpected ways.

👥North Node Conjunct Jupiter - optimism and a sense of purpose motivates each other. This can help them succeed in things they do together.

💣North Node Square Neptune - the future of the relationship can be very cloudy, they may seek to look at each other for inward healing and North Node will lose patience for it all

💣North Node Square Venus - indicates differences in where each person wants the relationship to go, Venus prefers lighthearted fun and romance while North Node takes their path more serious.

📒 Final Thoughts: Based on their compatibility and aspects, there isnt much spark or longevity between them. And they may never quite align for that reason. They could attempt to work through these problems but for a lack of connection on Ryan's end, hes less likely to try to make it work. Brett is at least open to it but having different lifestyles and alternative desires for a relationship will make it hard to move forward. This is why having a mutual connection is so important in a relationship because both partners at least have that glue to try and make differences work. The only thing theyve got going for each other is the ability to understand each other's emotions and have a good time. But when examining aspects, Ryan still views Brett as overly sensitive and not disciplined in her reactions. Even if they did press on with their relationship, they may still find it dull, just based on the lack of fun aspects in their synastry chart.

hi love im deep in ur art blog for reasons and im SO in love with the fact that ur ghoul has his OWN nickname tattooed on him in party's writing they are SO 🥺 was wondering if you wanted to talk a bit more abt ghouls tattoos??? theyre just SO gorgeous and intricately laid out

HI i LOVE u i am KISSING u i would love love love to talk about ghoul’s tattoos 🥺❤️

^ yeah ghoul & party have each other’s handwriting tattooed!! for party it’s one of the only tattoos they have & it’s right over their heart (im sure ive mentioned this fact before but idk if ive explicitly noted that it says ‘sunshine’) and ghoul didn’t have the space to put his right over his heart because poison’s kj symbol is there so his is on his upper arm (they ARE soooooooo 🥺 i love them)

ghoul’s tattoos are a healthy mix of sentimental ink and things he just thought were beautiful. when he met the rest of the four he didn’t have THAT many tattoos because 1. he was 14 2. he’d only been in the zones for a little under a year and a half at that point but the ones he DID have (aka his oldest tattoos) were his knuckle tattoos (‘freed’ and ‘fuck’ what can i say he was 13), the big raven on his upper shoulder and neck (he started believing in the witch very early compared to other cityborns but yeah that tattoo was both a way of symbolizing his devotion to the witch and a way of marking himself as a killjoy/shedding his past in the city in the way that he considered clearest), the fangs on his hand, two bats on his leg, the zombie bite on the other side of his neck (i could get a little more into this but BASICALLY ghoul being an ex-crow trainee + a cityborn + being the only surviving member of his first crew had a problem with feeling inhuman and a lot of survivor’s guilt and so he really. idk he connected a lot with zombies & frankenstein’s monster and ghosts & the like when he was a runner for dr. d post-his crew’s deaths. he got better about Seeing Himself as a Person especially once kobra + the other two showed up but the fascination remained) (also not tattoo-related but that’s when he chose his name. before that he’d been called ‘sandpup’ by his old crew & he never had a chance to tell them before they passed but he really loved that they used that as a name for him especially with how much he didn’t want to associate himself with the city) (ghoul had A Lot of issues but the difference there is that he worked thru them a lot earlier than the rest of the four) and “I FORGIVE U” on the back of his neck (in remembrance of said former crew).

umm along with that kind of fascination with the undead/feeling that kind of connection are the frankenstein stitches on his wrists (tho thats more of a common hc) and he has this pretty big tattoo of abstracted bones following his vertebrae down his throat and chest that he’s gotten expanded/fixed/touched up over the years. ik i do a lot of b&w doodles but i feel like i’ve been kind of inconsistent about coloring (most of his tattoos are color). pretty sure ive mostly drawn them in green (???) but in my head they’re like a faded light blue using natural skin tone as highlights.

his more sentimental tattoos…let me see if i can outline them here. this might not be exhaustive but i will do my best to list what ive figured out at least thus far:

the two little bats on his right thigh are for his grandmother and little sister. his sister (juliet adele fujikawa, b. april 2009 d. december 2014) was killed in a car crash shortly before he left the city, and likewise, his grandmother (charlotte fujikawa [藤川千尋] b. june 1936 d. december 2014) was “moved to retirement housing” at about the same time. that was pretty much the last straw & ghoul left battery city within the week

there’s his crewmates’ symbols on his chest (in order from his right to left: kobra, jet, party) (gotten when their crew had been together for a while. dating this one is based on a couple things: 1. ghoul had been with them for long enough that he felt secure 2. poison and ghoul were friends by this point, or else he wouldn’t have included their symbol and 3. poison’s is over his heart so you can read into that as you will)

text from the graffiti bible on his right calf, as protection for his crew & as a reminder of one of his former friends who was a droid that believed very strongly in destroya’s return

his raygun on his chest (he was pretty proud of the design! this was when he was ~15 or 16) that he had poison’s added to post-sing post-engagement pre-commitment ceremony (so. september 2023) (yes i have my handwritten timeline + my own drawings + my fics out in front of me rn cross-referencing sldkdksksbx!)

one of the girl’s childhood drawings (one she drew of him & her & the stuffed animal he made for her when she was a baby all having a tea party together) from when she’s about 5 or so on his right hip (december 2022 or so)

shooting stars on his upper right shoulder, partially because they’re pretty and blend well with his other tattoos and partially because they’re a reminder of a lot of things, including but not limited to his first night out in the zones seeing the stars for the first time, stories his grandma used to tell him, and right when he’d first joined the fab four and him & kobra sat on the roof during a meteor shower

besides the other one i already mentioned ^ he has more of poison’s handwriting on his left inner forearm — this is also one ive mentioned before but once they’ve been in a relationship for a while they get into the habit of leaving little love notes around for each other! there’s nothing particularly special specifically about the one he got tattooed, besides the fact that it reminded him of poison and they love each other. the text in full (which i don’t think ive ever put anywhere, though im pretty sure ive put fragments of it in fics and art) is as follows:

Good Morning baby <3! I needed new paints, went on a run. Kobra has the Girl @ the Crash Track, Jet’s at the station. call me when you wake up! I love you, be back soon. XO Party <3

he also has the anniversaries of when they started dating and their commitment ceremony (03•03•21 and 10•26•23 respectively) on the inside of his right wrist ^ !

he’s got a snake wrapping around his left leg that kobra picked out and a hand of cards with the ace of spades face up that jet picked out (and these ofc are because they remind him of his crewmates!!)

he has the phoenix witch tattooed on his ribs, left side, styled vaguely after catholic saints (since that imagery can still be found in the inner zones & especially where ‘joys who still practice that religion gather!)

there’s a version of the eye from the mailbox on his right shoulder, and this one is also a sort of symbol of protection/good luck, to show devotion to the witch and to help protect himself and his crew

the constellation libra on his left forearm! this one was done a little while after he started running transmissions and supplies for dr. d! he liked the connection that astrology — whether he believed in the practice or not is up for debate — gave people to the stars, and the feeling that he had a place in the universe, predestined or not

after charlie is born, he gets a portrait of her (~age 4) with her name and birthday underneath done on his left thigh! (~2036)

and on his lower back, he has a fairly simple tattoo of two crows on a wire with their beaks pressed together (aughhhhhh romance) that he gets done as an anniversary surprise for their 10-year (so. 2033)!

his non-sentimental tattoos are largely based off of images from books, either from dr. d’s collection when he was working as a runner for him or from cherri’s after he joined up with the fab four, or else they’re naturally occurring in the zones!! this includes but is not limited to: california golden poppies on the back of his left shoulder, strawberries around his left bicep (he doesn’t ever have a strawberry until he’s like 35, this one is absolutely based off of a particularly pretty illustration), a thundercloud with lightning on his left elbow, a moon on his right inner bicep, a ring of thorns around his right forearm right under the elbow, a dagger on his inner left calf, and a sun, small bat, cross, rose, ribbon (with the word ‘faith’ in script), and wing on his right forearm and hand, all picked from flash sheets

so yeah! that’s about everything i have to say about ghoul’s tattoos atm but ty ty ty sm for letting me ramble abt them i think about his tattoos so much 😔❤️
