hey! i'm opening commissions for writing and editing!

if you don't recognize my URL, i'm driflew and skelew on ao3. my most popular current work is the Lamplight AU on skelew, which is the account i’ve been using the most recently, but i've got quite a few works around. take a look at those links for examples of my work and the tone/content i'm best at!

💀 slots:

i've not done this before and am testing it out, so to start i'm only going to have three writing comm slots. if all goes well, i'll probably open them again once i finish, but i don't have a timeframe for how long this will take

i'll also do three editing slots, but those might refresh sooner

💀 price:

writing comms, the rate i'm thinking is 5 cents a word.

(that's $5 for 100 words, $25 for 500 words, and $50 for 1000 words)

editing comms, the rate i'm thinking is $5 for every 1000 words read

💀 what i'll write:

for fandoms, i'm definitely open to write for third life, one piece, and magnus archives. i'd be willing to hear out other fandoms i'm familiar with, like blue exorcist or certain webcomics, but might refuse if i'm not as familiar

for content, you can assume i'm willing to write something similar in content or tone to anything i've already posted. i'll write fluff, angst, character death, and i'd be willing to talk about some amounts of horror / gore, certain romance/ships

if you have questions about specifics about what i'll write, just ask!

💀 what i won't write:

poetry, nsfw (i just don't have the skillset for it), super heavy gore, ships i'm not into (as a general rule i'm not interested in incest or adult/minor)

Prices are $15 for the beta-reading, and $10 per ten thousand words up to 100,000 words (with some leway).

However, due to Fiverr's pricing being in USD and forcing you to use multiples of 5, the prices vary. Check out the FAQ for a more in-depth explanation.

FAQs

If I want a commission, how do I get it? 

You can reach out to me via DM and we’ll go from there. Payment’s will be done through Kofi, and will be upfront unless there are specific circumstances.

What information should I send for my commission?

There’s two options. You can send me anything that you’d like to see in the commission, pictures, prompts, gifs, memes, etc. (I typically don’t do fanfic simply because I’m not involved in very many, but there’s no harm in asking.) I’ll clarify anything missing before moving forward to make sure we’re on the same page...

OR

You could just say “surprise me” and I’ll take a look through your blog and write based on what I find. 

The only thing’s I’ll need to know for sure is any triggers or topics you’d like for me to steer clear of, and if you would want it to be NSFWhump or not. (The assumption will be no NSFWhump.)

How much does it cost? 

For each 500 words, it’ll be 5 dollars (or equivalent, I’m not 100 percent on how Ko-Fi does things.) Depending on the content and the total number of words, there might be limits to how long a story can be, but that again will be on a case-by-case basis that I doubt will be needed. Kofi link here. 

When will I get my commission and how?

Depending on the length and content, within 5-10 days maximum. If otherwise, I will let you know before placing the commission. 

I will either send you the commission as a file through DM, or if you’d like for it to be posted and tagged, that’s also an option. 

If you would like a printed and handbound copy, well...let me know. 

What if I want something else?

Editing and ARC reviews are all on a case-by-case basis.

Beta reading is available, timeframe and pricing on a case by case basis.

What if I have other questions?

Feel free to send me a DM or an ask (my anon is always on so no worries) and I’ll update this post as needed.

hi everyone!

i know it’s been a while since i’ve posted, but i haven’t forgotten anyone nor your requests! i just needed time to myself for a while and to work on my motivation for writing, which i still love to do!

i’m currently in school for art history (switched majors) and decided to stay on campus for break, but they decided to not have the dining halls open so i’m limited to what food is available to me— and it’s not much.

i also don’t have money to go to the store, so I’m opening up fic commissions so i won’t starve for the rest of spring break.

i’ve never done writing comms before but i’m excited to start somewhere and since it’s kinda an emergency, now seems like the right time! i’ll also offer editing comms if your own fic needs either a grammar check or writing suggestions.

the only fandoms that i’m open to at the moment are stranger things, final fantasy 15, devil may cry, resident evil, devils’ line, and bayonetta. i’m open to writing fluff, angst, nsfw, AUs, romance, and love letters from your comfort character!! i want to work more on writing horror but im still open to it!

Opening Editing Commissions Because I Need to Eat :)

Do you have any text you want someone revising/editing? I can do that! It's literally what I'm going to college for!

What kinds of texts do I work with?

Just about any texts: fanfics, essays, articles, you name it.

Note: obviously, it’s anything that I’m legally allowed to work on. I won’t fix your homework or do your job for you.

I won’t accept the following topics:

Rape.

Sexual Abuse of minors.

Extreme Gore.

Furthermore, I hold the right to decline any works if I want to for any reason.

Prices (in USD):

$3 – less than 1000 words.

$6 – 1.000+ words.

$9 – 2.500+ words.

$12 – 5.000+ words.

Every 1.000 words after 5.000 costs an extra $3.

Form of Payment:

Exclusively via ko-fi (ko-fi.com/itsthatlake).

1 (one) coffee = $3, so if you send me a text with 2.500 words, for example, you would pay with 3 coffees (that is, $9).

How this works:

You can send me a Tumblr PM with the text you want me to edit, as well as any specifications that you feel are necessary or any info you want me to know.

Once I reply (after taking a quick look at the text to make sure I want to work on it), I will ask you to pay me upfront the corresponding amount, adding your Tumblr username into the message box so I know it’s you.

I will then confirm that I got the payment and start working on your text.

I will send back the finished product (in both pdf and doc formats, unless otherwise requested) within 2-5 days, depending on the length of the text. If for any reason I need more time than that, I will let you know.

If there are any minor changes you want me to do at that point, I’ll do them.

Here is my AO3 if you want to look at the formatting I do for my own works (don't look too closely at the older ones, I barely knew English back then lol).

Hello! After a few weeks of consideration, I am opening commissions for beta reading, editing, proofreading, and other miscellaneous writing assists.

What I can do:

Beta reading, mostly fixing spelling and grammatical errors and flow of any text (depending on format). fixing any errors in formatting and flow of writing.

Editing alongside the author, talking with you as I go.

or Editing separate from the author. 

Sensitivity Reading: I am a very open minded person and am able to sensitivity read for most queer identities, physically, mentally ill/disabled and religious groups.

Brainstorming/troubleshooting: Having trouble with a story? I will help by brainstorming possible plots with you and extensive research with you, for parts of the story. You do not need to have anything written before hand for this. This is also charged by time spent, not word count. Researching can be done independently, Brainstorming will be a collaborative effort.

Critiques on plot, characters, pacing, wording, phrasing and structure of the entire story. I will be critiquing separate from the author, providing written notes and thoughts that I have to provide the best feedback.

My Rates

For all commissions over $20, I ask that 50% of the money be paid before, and the other 50% after. I charge by the initial word count, not the word count after I make my edits. 

Beta reading (1¢ per word, plus a $2 flat fee to compensate for time spent. Flat fee over 7,500 words is $4)

Poetry: $8 no matter the length

200 Words: $4

500 Words: $7

1,000 Words: $12

2,500 Words: $27

5,000 Words: $52

10,000 Words: $104

I will not write whole essays/stories or fictional novels.

Time frame

For all writing under 2,500 words, I attempt to get editing done within a two day period from when the commission is agreed upon. For under 5,000 I give myself an extra day, and anything over 10,000 I ask that you contact me for the rates simply because those take so much more time.

How to commission me

Send me a direct message or a (non-anonymous) ask on tumblr. From there you will need to give me an email, discord, or other personal message to send messages and files through. I prefer email personally but I’m open to most personal messaging sites. If you want to remain anonymous/not show your tumblr you may send me an anonymous message with your email/other messaging app username and I will respond to you there. You will need paypaI to complete the payment. The final price will be agreed upon confirming the word count of your writing.

So I know that this is way out of the blue, but this is something that I've been wanting to try for a long time. I figured it might be time to take some big steps for the future, and this is what came to mind. This would also help me out financially since I recently moved into a new place. 

Anyway, I’ll try to be as thorough as I can without boring you. And of course, if you have any questions please message me. 

To start with, I’ll still be writing my own personal stories but it may be in between commissions or after a determined commission period depending on how many commissions I get.

Then there’s the kind of services I provide. How I’ve broken it down is I write fanfics and original stories, this includes: blurbs, drabbles, and one-shots. That applies to original stories as well, however if you are wanting a series that will have to be something that you and I discuss to see if it’s plausible for me. 

Also, I not only write stories but I can offer some editing services as well. Take a look at the services down below, it’s explained more in depth there. 

Next, how I will take commissions and how they’ll be paid for. When it comes to asking for a story, It's pretty simple; private message me and we can talk about what it is you are looking for. On the pay side, I’ll be doing this through paypal. Now I’ll be honest, I had a bit of a hard time using paypal but I think it’s all set up. I’ll provide a link to it to my paypal and it’ll take you to a page where you can enter the amount of a commission, write what kind of commission you want, and it’ll send it along (again I’m not use to paypal, so let me know if there are any problems).

This is where I’d give some basic ideas of what could be improved or anything that feels out of pace with the rest of the piece, etc. +grammatical / spelling

In depth editing - $15

This is where I’d convert your story into a pdf (if I can), and write my notes on the margins then send it back to you  after a thorough re-read.

Artist critiques

I have taken art classes at a private college, and I think I could use what I learned here. I’m still a practicing artist, so I’ll offer the best that I can with my current abilities. So for critiques, I will give feedback on your art ranging from composition to color theory. You can submit illustrations, comic books or pages, videos (tutorials, how to’s, etc.), and anything that you feel like could use critiquing. And if you’re not sure, just ask!

More than one page (ex. 2/3)  - $10
