BNHA Fanfic idea that won't leave me alone:

All for one is Midoriya Hizashi, but...

Nobody knows. Like, literally, nobody knows. Inko never figured out his identity, and with him getting busier after Izuku's fifth birthday it looks like he left bc he's quirkless, so she never much cared for trying to find him and neither did Izuku. All pictures of him are banished into a box in her closet and haven't seen the light of day since Izuku was six or so, when they had a fight over the telephone over him wanting to fix Izuku.

AFO himself suffered obviously a lot of head trauma when fighting All Might, and this gave him partial amnesia. He has no or only very few memories of the decade or so prior to the battle, so he has none regarding his family that he meticulously kept from everyone else's awareness, including the Doctor's. He does see the monthly payment to Inko but assumes it's from a bribe or keeping a corrupt official in his pocket. Given that he can't recall whom it's to and immortality made him extremely wealthy, he doesn't cut it off, nor tries to follow it and make the memory loss obvious.

The only one who does know?

The ghost of Yoichi, who suddenly had another person he could haunt and went to see what's going on. Maybe throw in Nana too, if you want Inko to secretly be a Shimura.

Cue Yoichi fretting over his baby nephew the very moment Izuku gets OFA, up to and including giving him in-depth instructions on how to use the quirk and helping him manage it without harm to him while the other vestiges (minus Nana) are busy laughing their asses off.

one thing i think that makes curious more funny from like, a meta perspective is that normally peoples names have something to do with their quirks, right? hers is Chitose Kizuki, "placement, deposit, leave behind" (置 chi?) and "year" (歳 tose?), and her last name contains "spirit, mind, heart" (気 ki?) and "moon" (月 dzuki?).

so like her code name? curious ok ok so whats going on there clearly it must have something to do with her job. shes an executive publisher who used to be a journalist okay yeah that tracks makes sense

and her appearance? she's blue. shes got blue skin and green eyes with dark sclera and lavender hair. surely, youre thinking, maybe that space theme is coming back? whats her quirk?

The delivery. Inasa didn't get close with his body. But Fumikage's quirk is a part of him. Why give us a panel showing him touching him otherwise? Mind you, his palms are even flat - remember his quirk has a stigmata (hole) that seems to be how his quirk works.

24 hours ago I liked a ship in a real “I just think their neat” vibe but then I had Revelations about it and it’s suddenly turned into a brain rot mix of “oh my god why did you half ass this so badly in canon” and “oh my god there’s so little in canon I can twist it however I want in fanfics” because both characters got the bare minimum character development after the halfway point in the manga with minimal backstories.

So that’s fun.

That’s really what I needed more and different brain rots to the ones I already had.

Quirk awakenings are a known thing in the universe of MHA, but personally I find the idea of quirks changing because of the owner much more interesting.

Like what happened with Shigaraki's quirk. It's maybe not super obvious(at least it didn't click with me immediately when i first read the flashback, or i might just be slow) but when Tomura's quirk first came in, he could decay things he wasn't physically touching so long as the effect of decay could reach it. But because of the trauma of the incident, being continuosly re-traumatised by AFO and eventually suppressing the memory, his quirk got weaker.

And I dunno I find that super interesting. That a quirk can change like that. Shigaraki didn't go through a quirk awakening during Deika, his quirk just returned to the base capacity it had when it first activated when he was five, except now much much stronger. Instead of just decaying his house he decayed a whole city.

ooooh for the ask game- 7: how do you choose which pov to write from? i find myself flip flopping between povs when im not careful lol

tbh?? I do not have a good answer for this sldkjflkdsjf usually the idea for a scene comes to me and I already have the pov in mind because of how I imagine the scene. sometimes if something isn't flowing properly, I'll try rewriting it from a different perspective to see if that flows better, and it frequently helps. usually my way of deciding who should be the pov is "whose internal monologue would be the most entertaining here" or "who knows the least about what is going on. time to write them" (aka the locked tomb technique. love pov characters who don't know what the fuck is happening). I also try to stick to one particular character's pov in a scene and I don't switch to another pov unless there is a clearly delineated scene break, and if I'm going to switch between povs, I try to keep it balanced! not the same character's pov too many times in a row if there are other povs I need to tackle
