Summary:Two strangers with hidden pasts meet in passing at a bakery, indulging their sweet tooths. When an assassin drives them together, the situation ends far sweeter than either of them could've predicted.

"Oh, you again!"

Hanzo blinked out of his trance and turned.

The woman looking at him was extremely short. And also--despite her words and the way she was looking at him--completely unfamiliar. Long black hair was pulled back from a round, open face. The pink scrubs were pristinely kept, and he read her name off of her shiny badge: Erissa. Pretty name. She had a small bag and a receipt clutched in her hand.

“Hello!” She raised a hand in greeting, flashing a wider smile.

"You have me mistaken for someone else." He intended to turn away and put her out of his mind, but she had other plans.

"No...no, I am pretty sure you were here last week. And the week before. And twice the week before!" When he looked back, she was tapping her chin thoughtfully. "I would recognize that jacket anywhere. It's very distinctive!"

It was very distinctive. One of a kind, in fact.

Hanzo wondered if he could get away with pretending he didn't speak English.

He turned to look at her fully. "What is your business?" His voice was curt, clipped, cold.

She looked confused, but not intimidated. "Um...muffins?" She held up the bag.

"Ah."

He stared at her. She looked at him. After a few moments she seemed to realize the conversation was over, and took a step back.

"Anyway, I did not mean to call you out or anything! But it is nice to see you again!"

He eyed her carefully. Probably not an assassin. She wouldn't have called him out so blatantly. Perhaps a spy? Another organization come to court him?

"I will not hold you up any more...shop's closing soon!" She gave him an oddly tender smile and turned away.

Hanzo didn't watch her leave. He approached the counter, and his usual order was waiting for him in a bag. The person manning the counter shied away as he approached, managing to force out a, "Thanks!" when he dropped a generous tip into the jar. He didn't respond.

The walk to his apartment was, as always, solitary. The summer air was suffocating, but he refused to shed his jacket until the day the heat was physically detrimental. Discomfort, he would endure.

His nightly routine was the same. He got home, ordered delivery, worked out until it arrived, ate, and then read for the rest of the night.

Tonight's reading material was a somewhat trashy fantasy novel he'd found at a bus stop. It was utterly flavorless and the plot was lacking any substance, but the fight scenes were remarkably accurate. He punctuated the evening with raspberry white chocolate cupcakes, and sparkling water. The resulting stomachache kept him up in place of the usual nightmares, which was a suitable tradeoff.

He spent the next few days in his apartment, reading and looking for work. It had been several weeks since his last paycheck. He was far from struggling, but his work had always been about absolution rather than money. If he needed money, he could simply take it. Inactivity didn’t suit him.

Still nothing. His previous employer had promised another job within the next four months, and it had only been one. Impatience was unbecoming, but he was getting restless.

When staring at the screen did not materialize job opportunities, he worked out more. When he was too tired to move anymore, he read.

The next days followed the same pattern, rinse and repeat. After the third day, he returned to the bakery, this time for something a little less sweet than a cupcake. All the sugar made his teeth ache, but he still felt he needed something to get him through to the next mission.

I made the characters in gacha 2 because I was too lazy to draw 🤭

Tomas: Don't mess with Hanzo and Yinyang! You can hurt and insult me, but you respect them!

Bi-Han: but seriously Tell Hanzo to stay away from my brother...

Tomas: For someone cold, you're quite jealous when it comes to me and your brother.

Bi Han: Do you want me to leave you outside?

Tomas: I understand, I'm sorry...

Context Au : *Tomas and Bi-Han did not have a good relationship at first, Bi-Han treated Tomas badly for being one of his father's favorites, but Tomas eventually rebelled against Bi-Han when he tried to exile Hanzo and Yinyang because they had failed. on a mission, at that time Bi-Han reflected on his actions when he saw his mother's spirit reflected in Tomas, since Bi-han and Kuai Liang received abuse from their father the great teacher but their mother always protected them, Bi-Han, in an attempt to change, tries to be good to Tomas, this will be seen in the fanfic that I will upload these days since there are finally vacations ✨*

Some Au Data:

-Hanzo Hasashi has the power of lava and rocks basically like magna, he is the same age as Tomas, he has a love interest with Kuai Liang but secretly although they are not good at hiding.

-Kuai Liang has the fire element but as an additional element since he has cryomancer blood and can create ice just like his brother.

-Bi-Han is still just as grumpy but tsundere with tomas.

-Tomas in this Timeline is not the adoptive brother of Kuai Liang and Bi-Han but he is the grandmaster's apprentice, possesses the enenra, and is an overprotective friend of Yinyang (oc) since he found her half dead when she was a child. and it reminded him of his twin sister, here his adoptive brother is Hanzo Hasashi.

I think Satoshi would have kept a picture of her with him in a locket he got from her parents as a gift. It gets damaged one day, like the hinge stops working, so he takes it to his dad to see if he can't get it fixed

Hanzo, seeing the picture: Who is this?

Satoshi: Aile, I met her after I escaped the Lin Kuei

Hanzo, trying to put the pieces together: She seems very happy

Satoshi:.........we were

Hanzo: What happened?

Satoshi: I wanted to stay but....It wasn't safe and I-

Satoshi cuts off, pulling his knees up to his chest as he starts crying

Satoshi: I couldn't risk the Lin Kuei finding us and doing to her what they did to mom

Hanzo reaches over to pull his son in for a hug.

Satoshi, sniffling: I loved her, dad

Hanzo, sad chuckle: I can see that

Satoshi: I didn't want to go, but I had to

Mortal Kombat Dream #1

Title says it all. I was too excited for Mortal Kombat 1 and made sure to avoid all spoilers except for one character tower ending which doesn't relate to his ending. I had to type it into a note before I forget.

This dream happened before I know of that said character tower ending.

Liu Kang and his allies found an entrance but it was blocked by a large Boulder. Kenshi, Baraka, and Syzoth say wake me up before going to the Boulder to move it.

Jax went to help move it. Kung Lao asked Jax if he should and Jax told him wake me up and joins.

This is true. I was listening to the song Bring Me To Life in the mourning and somehow the ones pushing the Boulder are chanting Wake Me Up.

Hanzo arrives with Kuai Liang who is Scorpion in the timeline, dragging him with a rope. Kung Lao asked Hanzo what he is doing with Kuai Liang. Hanzo replied this and start kissing Kuai Liang. Bi-Han, unmasked, looked surprised to see his brother kissing Hanzo back. Saibot was behind him with the same expression. He's still Sub-Zero in here.

My oc in for Mortal Kombat Kioka is there too, watching until Tomas covered her eyes.
