ive been a little preoccupied writing a tasm fic rn so this has been kinda pushed on the back burner. but i did already technically write singer!reader. so enjoy actor!reader

bf!sapnap hates when he gets chats where people are bashing your acting. he hates it even more when they're comments on his vods with you that you can see.

he makes sure no ones posts are actually up long enough for you to see them

bf!sapnap always tries to promote your stuff nonchalantly. but it's never actually nonchalant.

"oooh, what's this ad about?" he asked, sharing his screen. his youtube recommendations were just clips from the shows or movies that you've been in.

then he clicked on the ad at the top of the screen that was for a movie you were staring in. everyone in his chat started spamming in his chat about how he was putting the sap in sapnap.

bf!sapnap who likes going to your film locations with you and cheers you on on the sidelines. when you get off set, he smiles so widely at you and tells you how well you did.

bf!sapnap who first watches a movie with an actor that doesnt like you and can't help but shit on them.

"you would've been so much better for this role," he huffed, crossing his arms. you looked at him and couldn't help but smile at his glare. you tried suppressing your smile and turned back to watching the movie.

"fuck you," he murmured to himself. you looked up at him as he aggressively closed out of twitter.

"what was that?" you asked, concerned.

"that bitch is trending right now."

bf!sapnap who likes going to your movie premieres with you. he gets to walk the red carpet with you (because hes technically famous) and he loves seeing twitter posts the next day of you two.

the flashing lights can be too much at times, but he likes hilding you close and people knowing youre with him. he likes when people stop to interview you about the movie and just to do promo. He stands off to the side, just out of view and watches you in your element, he finds it so admirable.

bf!sapnap who even gets asked questions when walking with you.

"so, sapnap, were you on set for this movie at all? what was it like seeing yn in their natural element?" the interviewer asked with a large smile.

"i was sometimes," he nodded. "it was cool. i think im used to seeing them get in the zone but seeing it in person was something else."

"so, what is it like dating them?"

he looked at the interviewer strangely as he tried to figure out how to answer that. "unlike anyone else. they have such an interesting life and im just glad to be here for it."

Where everyone is found after the wilderness, and reader hasn't seen Nat in 19 months (obvs)

So she goes to see her, as she returns, and they are getting interviewed, and they ignore them going to the train, but she call Natalie's name, and her head perks up, with tears, and she sees her , and they both run to eachother, crying and kissing, not caring that the interviewers are taking pictures 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️

And the months go by

Flashes and yells where the only things Natalie was able to detect around her, she fumbled a bit with her hood to pull it up and cover her hair, once a platinum blonde mullet and now long with blonde ends.

"What happened out there?"

"How did you manage to survive?"

"How many of you died when the plane crashed?"

The questions were ringing in her head, and as much as she tried to block them out she just couldn't, so she started walking faster.

Suddenly she heard a very familiar voice, a soft voice she could recognize from miles and miles

"Nat! Natalie!"

It was you, voice desperate, after all this time Nat couldn't care less about the journalists, she stopped in the crowd and wandered her eyes around until she found you, instantly running off and pushing people aside.

"Y/n!" She yelled as soon as she saw you, wrapping her hands around your neck she hugged you tightly and you reciprocated.

Natalie couldn't believe she was holding you in her arms again after all those months of wondering how you were doing and asking herself if you thought she was dead, tears soon poured from her tired eyes, and when she looked at you she could tell that you were close to crying too

"Baby..." You whispered, hugging her closer, you both stayed like that for a while, breathing each other in, then she leaned down to place a kiss on your lips, which you reciprocated, even after all this time you two still fit together like two pieces of a puzzle.

"I missed you" she said with a shaky voice "I missed you too, so so much" you replied softly placing a peck on her forehead.

And as if the photographers and journalists weren't there you two kissed again just happy to be together again.

EreMika (Eren x Mikasa) omg do I even need to elaborate? First of all THE FACT THAT MIKASA LOOKS PRETTIER WHEN ITS IN ERENS POV? And not to mention the fact that in episode 12 Ian even says to Mikasa 'defend your boyfriend' in sub and in dub he said 'go save the man you love' also when Eren asked Mikasa what he is to her it was obious he wasnt wanting the answer "your my family" AND THE FACT THAT THEY KISSED IN THE FINAL EPISODE

NicoSasha (Niccolo x Sasha) LITTERALLY CANNON BUT ISAYAMA HATES LOVE APARENTLY. Niccolo looked mesmerised and looked so inlove while blushing when he saw Sasha CRYING over how good his food was. Omg and the way he reacted when his conrad called Sasha a 'filth blooded potato grubbing devil' MY MAN WAS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE and when he said "What is this brat someone specil to you? Is that why he tried to protect you earlier? You care about him huh? Well I used to care about someone too! A DIRT BLOODED ELDIAN! A DECENDENT OF DEVILS! THE WOMAN WHO ENJOYED THE FOOD I COOKED MORE THAN ANYONE ID EVER MET BEFORE! She saved me from this shitty ass pointless war... she showed me that the person I ment to be as a man who brings people happiness through his cooking... that was Sasha Braus... she was amzing. AND YOU STOLE HER FROM ME!" OMG LIKE HOW CAN YOU HEAR HIM SAY THAT AND NOT THINK ITS CANNON?!

AurEtra (Ouro x Petra) OMG ISAYAMA LITTERALLY SAID THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED! Also I noticed that they argue very much like a couple. sorry i dont have much to say about this ship. I just really like it.

MikeNana (Miche x Nannaba) Ok listen. This isn't a mega huge ship I have I just think its really cute. Also everytime Miche and Nannaba interact omg its adorable. Thats about it.

KenUri (Kenny x Uri) THE WAY THEY INTERACTED WITH EACHOTHER OMGGG now I dont this its super inlove. I just think they were atleast a little inlove with eachoter. THEY ARE SOULMATES AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE! Also in the OFFICIAL AOT GUIDE BOOK THIS IS A CONVERSATION ISAYAMA HAD WITH AN INTERVEIWER Interviewer: "So he (Kenny) thought id he eliminated Uri, the world would become right again. But he lost the fight." Isayama: "Kenny's way of judging value is: 'The strong are in the right', and so for that reason he was attracted to Uri." LIKE OMG HE LITTERALLY SAID KENNY WAS ATTRACTED TO URI! (and no one say "oh well he wouldn't make Kenny be intrested in men" when Yumir and Historia are LITTERALLY CONFERMINED LESBIANS.

YumiHisu (Yumir x Historia) This is gonna be short because it's obious this ship is cannon. Yumir always telling Historia "You are so gonna have to marry me after all this shit is over!" When Historia was with Yumir after the tower fell. The way they looked at eachother. The fact that Historia was more worried about Yumir than anything when Reiner and Bertolt reveled their titans and took Eren and Yumir. WHEN YUMIR SAID TO REINER AND BERTOLT "You guys have no idea what it's like. She knows what a shitty person I am, but she still smiles at me. I can't..." THE FACT THAT HISTORIA TOLD YUMIR "I will always be your ally" EVEN AFTER YUMIR BASICALLY ATE HER. HISTORIA PROTECTING YUMIR WHEN MIKASA ALMOST KILLED HER TO SAVE EREN! WHEN HISTORIA SAID "But with Yumir gone I've lost my purpose. I don't even know what I'm fighting for anymore." OMG NOT TO MENTION THE LETTER?! 'To my dear Historia, as I write this Reiner's standing at my side. He knows this is a love letter, but he's still sneaking peaks. Honestly, it's no wonder the creep's still single. That said.. he did give me his word that he'd deliver this letter to you. He says he owes me for the time I doubled back to save him. I'm sorry about then... I never would've imagined myself choosing those two.. over you... I'm going to die soon. But... I'll die without regrets. Or that's what I'd like to say. Truth is... I do have one. It's that I never got to marry you. With Love, Yumir' I MEAN HOW CAN YOU READ THAT AND NOT SHIP THEM?!

Luce and TVC

I first got into TVC when I was 14, which is almost 21 years ago. My 13yo foster sister and I were completely obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I was aware that there was a vampire movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt and wanted to see it. I have a much older half-sister and the three of us ended up having a movie night at her house. We watched Interview With the Vampire and The Blair Witch Project.

We were all very 👁👁 throughout the entire movie. Then I bought a boxset of the first four books, foster sister and inhaled the first three books, watched the QotD movie and got very pissed off by how terrible it was. 😂

We were like, "Guess we'll always have the books 🤷‍♀️". I ordered TVA, because QotD had left me completely Armand-obsessed, and started reading Tale of the Body Thief.

I don't remember quite what it was, but Lestat says something at the start of TotBT that my 14yo self just thought was so stupidly retconny that I went, "Yeah, fuck that". I think it was something about how he only ate bad guys and that that was somehow in service of Jesus? Whatever it was, I wasn’t having it, so I put it down and never picked it back up. 😂

Then in my late teens/early twenties I followed Anne Rice on Facebook for a while, but I got kinda creeped out when she started addressing everyone with 'dearest People of the Page'. I distinctly remember thinking, "Lady, I'm here for gay vampire reasons, not to be in a cult". 😅 So I unfollowed her and spent about a decade not thinking about TVC very much at all.

AND THEN in early summer of 2022 the YouTube algorithm informed me that AMC was making an IWTV show. I reread IWTV and in October thought, "Let’s give this a go."

I had my reservations because I still remembered my teenage rage at the QotD movie, and I wasn't sure how I felt about them changing the time period and casting 'some old guy' as Daniel (sorry Eric! 🙈).

BUT THEN Jacob came on all, "Dear Mr. Molloy, did you know you can orgasm just from hearing a man's voice? Wanna finish what we started half a century ago?" and my head just about exploded!

This is the second interview?! They’re revisiting it 49 years later?! OMGGG, that's the most genius storytelling move in the history of storytelling! 😱

I watched ep2 right after and then desperately needed to yell about the show with other sickos. So I joined Twitter and started reading fic again (which I'd only really done when I was 17 and obsessed with that wizard school franchise), started writing fic, joined fic-themed group chats/Discords and made a Tumblr so I could (lovingly) yell at other fic writers.

And now I've published over 150k words in fic and there's IWTV fan art all over my house. 😂

So it was really the show that made me come back to stay. It's just thee best TV show of all time to me.

And as much as this fandom can be a shit show, it's really helped me stay sane while grappling with my long covid, which has left me very incapacitated in many other areas of my life.

Luce's headcanons

Asking me for my headcanons has the same effect as asking me for my favorite movies or songs in that it immediately makes me forget any headcanons I ever had. 😂

You're right that I write a lot of them into my fics, which are mainly me exploring my headcanons and asking myself what if...? I have a couple others, though I'm not sure these are really headcanons or more actual theories, though, so I apologize if this wasn't what you were looking for.

- I've mentioned this one before, but Louis and Lestat had a grand old time during their honeymoon phase between Louis getting turned and Louis almost eating Grace's baby. I think people tend to make too big a deal out of Louis being an unreliable narrator but it's a little too convenient how quickly he skips over those 6-7 years. I think he doesn’t like to think about how much fun he had with Lestat just having all the sex, getting super rich and eating whoever the fuck he wanted.

- Daniel isn’t going to give a single fuck about the ethics of killing people in order to survive once he finally becomes a vampire. We already know he’s selfish and a hypocrite. I can just see him fully ready to view all humans as savory inferiors once he’s no longer one of them.

- If show!Daniel ever met Marius, he would punch him in the face. 🤭

- Santiago is going to be SO jealous of Louis's relationship with Armand. I don't care if Santiago and Armand end up having zero homoerotic tension between them on screen, they're fucking to me.

- I'm also a Claudeline truther. Show!Claudia doesn’t need a parental figure the way book!Claudia does but she very much yearns for romantic love, and she did say Charlie was the last boy she'd ever love, and went after the woman when Lestat asked her if she wanted the Mr. or the Mrs. in ep7.

I’ve been kept quite busy this month (mostly due to my job) but overall I’m doing pretty well, thank you for asking! despite being busy I’ve been able to sit down and watch several holiday movies (good and bad, lol). have you been able to watch any? I recommend this is christmas… I watched it for the first time the other day with my mom and the wholesomeness drove me to tears.

ahh hello again!!! i feel you on having a very busy december but i DID manage to watch 1 movie! it was falling for christmas (the new lindsay lohan movie on netflix) and it was better than i expected which tbh? is very much a win in my books. this is christmas was literally next up on my list bc that one looks super decent so i will def be getting around to it soon <3

In 2019 I watched DPS for school and got interested in RSL, I started watching House but stopped because I couldn't find all the episodes. Flashforward two years, I got interested in psychiatry and started getting House MD recs on YouTube. One thing lead to another and I ended up watching the entire series and falling for RSL once again.

I really love his acting because he can communicate so much through subtleties (for example in the scene in "The Invention of Love" where he gets "pal zoned" you can feel his pain in the fidgeting of his hand, in the awkward nature of the hug...), and he can also deliver intense emotional moments with ease (the "I need you to tell me that you love me" from S8 of House is a poignant example of that). I also think he's a very interesting human being (at least it seems that way in interviews), he's very frank and has an underrated sense of humour (I'll never forget the "my family are tarantulas" bit for example xd). I enjoy his filmography a lot ("In The Gloaming" is underrated, you heard it here first) and I find his theatre characters very interesting (mental young dudes and wise men my beloveds). Lastly, I can't help but fall for his cheekbones (๑•﹏•)

I just watched the finale and wow. So here are my thoughts. First, Nyxly with Esme was lowkey hella cute and was giving big maternal vibes so I enjoyed that, but did they really have to murder milf Lillian smh. Also I feel like the fight with Lex and Nyxly ended way too abruptly and it was a dumb way to end such a big conflict so I didn’t like that, but the wedding omggg that shit was so cute and the last supercorp conversation had me going wild that shit was precious but sadly no supercorp endgame. I knew it wouldn’t happen, but I really clowned until the bitter end. But then the very end is what I enjoyed the most. That interview with Cat was just chefs kiss. I always knew it would end with Kara revealing her identity to the world, but I kinda wish it had expanded on it and see what the repercussions and reactions over everyone would be, but then again I don’t think we really needed it. It’s just something I would have liked to see tbh. I can’t believe it’s finally over tho like wow. It hasn’t fully sunk in yet and despite how shitty the show became I still loved it with my whole heart and I still do and I will likely do a rewatch of every season back to back in the future. These characters just meant so much to me and now it’s all over. I don’t know what to do with myself now tbh. I’ve been watching since season 2 first started airing. I watched that first episode live. I was still in high school then and now I’ll be 23 next month. These past 5 years have meant so much to me, and it hurts to see the show go but I know it’s time. He really does have the best skating skills in the circuit jfc he might not do quads but he sure is beautiful to watch

Headlining at the same event after Belial makes yet another flirtatious you finally snap. Dragging him back to your tour bus, you pin him and give him exactly what he wants (something about Belial just really make me want to top him idk man he’s so thirsty)

Headlining at Auguste Music Festival.

It was the dream for any rock band in the current day and age to realize into existence.

And yet, even after you sang your heart out to a sea of attendees who paid top dollar to enjoy the festival, you were pissed.

You couldn’t have asked for a better performance from yourself or your bandmates. No technical glitches, the crowd was lively and full of fans who knew the lyric to every song you performed--even the unreleased tracks that you played just for the fun of it.

Social media was ablaze with the name of your band trending across the world.

But it wasn’t merely because you put on one hell of show.

Rather, it was because Belial, the lead singer of Paradise Lost, was live-streaming himself standing to the side of the stage while you performed. From bluntly uttering out vulgar comments when you would so much as bend over while singing out to the crowd or twirl the microphone in your hands, to hungrily licking his lips when you would tug at the collar of your top to relieve yourself from how warm your body was becoming, he held not a sliver of shame while spectated by thousands of his fans and onlookers who hopped on once they saw his face on the trending page.

After all, it was a well known fact that there was a rivalry between your band and his, since the both of your groups began your rise to acclaim at the same time. You never hid your disdain when interviews would bring up Paradise Lost, especially as a means to compare your music with theirs, all while Belial--seemingly thrilled by how annoyed you were--would go on and on of how he prided himself on being an inspiration of sorts for your music.

HLAGHLKAGLHKA BELIAL REALLY NOT GIVING A FUCK OMGGG WE STAN A KINKY KING!!! AUGUSTE GIVING US THE DRAMA WE DESERVE!!!

It was one of the many comments that was displayed on your screen as you scrolled through social media on your phone.

Having since retreated from the stuffy Auguste heat of the open-air mainstage to the enclosed chilled air of your tour bus, you did what you could to bring yourself down from the rage that spiked through your blood upon realizing what was going on online.

And shutting up Belial was the first step towards some much needed tranquility.

Not even making it to one of the tour bunk beds, you had him sprawled upon his back on the floor. With your thighs on either side of his head, you kept him pinned beneath you while your hips pressed down against his face, your dribbling core planted right over his awaiting lips. One of your hands kept a firm grip on his wrists while anchoring them to the ground, the fingers of the other swiping through your timeline to like and share fan photos, videos, and comments.

As much as an arrogant, shamelessly depraved individual that he was, at least Belial wasn’t lying from all those encounters where he would purr into your ear on how he knew how to put his tongue to good use.

For every touching fan comment you read that made your heart swell, the quick circling of Belial’s tongue circling around your clit made your breath hitch.

“Enjoying the appetizer, baby~? Just wait until we get to the main course~”

The swipes against your core came to a pause, with those words just spoken to you hummed against your inner thigh. You could feel a shift beneath, which--with a glance back--was due to Belial eagerly bucking up his hips, having your eyes shift to the large bulge that had formed and was protruding through the intricately designed leather of his pants.

Your phone still in hand, you reached to grab at a handful of his hair as you readjusted your hips, planting more of your weight against his face. Ignoring his pitifully delighted groan, you huffed out, “Don’t get any ideas. This is just to shut you up.”

He obliged, the drags and licks of his tongue far more frequent and eager, seemingly enthused by your taking charge.

As your back arched against his mouth, you released his hair to continue searching through social media.

The next post you encountered was a screencap of Belial’s livestream, of him grinning to the camera while he made a heart with his thumb and index finger while you were in the foreground, all with the caption of “i wish these two would get along :((( they could be so powerful together if they collabed!!”

You turned your head back towards his hips, your gaze lingering on his stiff erection, which just looked so constrained within his pants.

Your mind weighed the options of having his body on yours after years of rejecting his stupid boldly flirtatious ways.

Switching off your phone, you set it on the ground before you released a contemplative sigh as your fingers reached for the hem of your top.

“...If we do more than this, you better shut your mouth forever.”

Belial grinned.

Like he could ever bite his tongue around you.

The Way Haru Gets Sentimental When He’s with Rin

This is gonna be a long one, so I put the rest under the cut. There's just so much to say about RinHaru and how they get all cute and sweet when they're together ^_^ Hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did writing it!

✧ ✧ ✧

So I noticed in the Drama CDs and some of the character interviews that Haru readily gets sentimental when he’s with Rin; you’d think that, sensitive crybaby that he is, it’d be Rin who would initiate the sentimentality, but surprisingly, oftentimes it’s Haru getting all up in his feels while Rin is the chill one.

And coming from a non-expressively sentimental person as Haru, I die and come back to life every time these moments happen because they’re just way. too. PRECIOUS 💜 I don’t know what it is about Rin, but for whatever reason Haru is just more open with his sentimental emotions with him—it’s like Rin brings out the “romantic” in Haru ^_^

For example, from the BD Extra Rin and Haruka Special Talk:

Rin: Yeah, those guys, in the time I hadn’t seen them they’ve become much more senpai like.

Haruka: I don’t really know how to say it but, I feel like our feelings and bonds will be passed down forever……

Rin: Haha, you’ve become sentimental huh?

Haha, Rin even calls Haru out on his sentimentality! Haru randomly texts Rin to tell him he left his water bottle at Haru’s place when they were hanging out with each other. As Haru can’t type to save his life, he ends up calling Rin and they start chatting about the All Japan Selection and the after party. Not exactly a sentimental conversation, and yet still Haru openly gets all tender and feelsy. We don’t often witness Haru get all like this, so seeing him do so in a random convo with Rin is so adorable and really highlights how their relationship is something special (and not just a rivalry like some people try to make it out to be).

We get another display of it in the RinHaru Character Song Duet Series Drama, Track 3:

Haruka: The futon’s over there. Lay it out yourself.

Rin: …Are you even listening to me?

Haruka: Or do you want to sleep together in the bed again like old times?

“Or do you want to sleep together in the bed again like old times?” FOLKS THE WAY I TOTALLY LOST IT WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS DRAMA OMGGG. Haru is canonly offering Rin to share the bed with him. Like they used to before. And Haru isn’t being facetious about it, listen to the way Haruka says this line and you’ll hear how he was 100% sincere in his offer. And Haru strikes me to be the type that isn’t all that touchy-feely, so for him to offer someone to share a bed with him is just…not a normal Haru thing to do. But he offers so to Rin and like PEOPLE. I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS ACTUALLY CANON AHAHAHAHA I’M THRIVING XD.

And then on top of “wanna sleep together?” (as if that wasn’t enough death for us), we have a very caring Haru pulling a Mamakoto and asking Rin a bunch of questions to make sure he’s good:

Rin: Oh. Thanks for pulling out the futon.

Haruka: You didn’t bring your pillow?

Rin: As if I would.

Haruka: Will you be able to get to sleep?

Rin: Don’t make fun of me.

Haruka: Are you leaving early tomorrow morning?

Rin: I’ll be waking up at 6 to go for a jog before I go. If I miss even a day’s training, it affects my performance.

Haruka: Then I’ll run with you.

Haru is firing off all these questions to Rin, asking him if he’s gonna be able to sleep without his pillow, wanting to know when he’s gonna leave in the morning, telling Rin that he’s gonna run with him in the morning so he can spend as much time with Rin as he can before Rin even has a chance to offer Haru to run with him. We get a glimpse of clingy!Haru, and the way we see this side of him come out around Rin (is too adorable) says so much. Haru is so involved—and you have to listen to the audio to really experience the way Haru is asking these questions, for you can hear just how concerned about and interested in Rin he is.

[Haru quietly enters his bedroom. RIN is sleeping]

Haruka: [smiles] Good night, Rin.

This part killed and then resurrected me, omg HOW AM I EVEN ALIVE?? Haru not only takes a moment to smile while watching Rin sleep (you literally hear the pause and Haru’s little laugh in the audio), the way he whispers “Goodnight, Rin” is so soft and caring; Haru sounds so content and happy to have Rin back in his life, just like old times, and it’s too much for my soft RinHaru heart to handle 😩.

The impression I got from this entire drama cd track is that Haru is just so happy to have Rin back in his life, but not only just back in his life, but back as a friend. After all these years and heartache, they’ve reconciled, reunited, and they’re doing things like they used to back in elementary school. We know that Rin’s friendship in elementary school meant a whole lot to Haru (just watch Starting Days, read High Speed 2 and rewatch all of Season 1 if you want to doubt that), and now the two of them can resume that precious friendship. Haru’s whole demeanor and actions read as excitement, contentment, and a touch of anxiousness that he and Rin and doing things together again like they used to—Rin spending the night at his place being one of those things.

I’m sure Haru felt a little anxious about it all, similarly to how someone finally gets that thing they’ve been yearning for and wants to make sure it’s taken care of. We see it in his “clinginess”, in the way he offers Rin his favorite t-shirt, in the way offers Rin to share the bed with him; we see it in the way Haru fires off questions wanting to know if Rin’s gonna sleep well and when he’s leaving in the morning. It’s the way someone who lost someone they cherish but gets them back in their life would act—it’s attentiveness and anxiousness, eagerness and contentment and wanting to spend as much time with the person as they can.

There was also a brief but still very cute Sentimental Haru moment in the Free! Illustration Works CD Drama, Track 8: A Promise of Rainbows

MAKOTO: The four of us swimming together like this reminds me of our days in the swimming club. Like how Rin tried to make rainbows while we were playing in the pool.

NAGISA: That sure brings me back.

MAKOTO: Rin back then was a lot more open about his emotions.

RIN: Lay off it. […]

[(Makoto and Nagisa) jump into the pool, leaving Rin and Haru standing on the side]

HARUKA: Rin.

RIN: Hm? What?

HARUKA: …Make rainbows again, okay? [jumps in]

RIN: Make them?

NAGISA: Rin-chan, come on in!

RIN: …Heh. Okay. I’ll make rainbows for you.

Again, you really have to listen to the audio track in order to fully appreciate the softly tender way Haru tells Rin to make rainbows again. And the fact that Haru waits until it’s just the two of them to say this to Rin makes it extra intimate and special.

Also in the Free! DF Drama Cd, we see Haru’s sentimental side crash right into the party, no invitation needed (Track 10 - Haruka and Rin’s Drive):

Rin: There’s… still another 3 hours until we reach the training camp. You can sleep if you want, Haru.

Haruka: You’re such a rough driver that I’m too worried to fall asleep.

Rin: Heh, speak for yourself.

Haruka: Besides…

Rin: Huh?

Haruka: This is the only time we can talk properly.

You guys already know how I lost my mind over this drama cd track (if you like to witness my meltdown, you can do so here) for this entire drama is everything and more. Haru would rather spend the long drive to “talk properly” with Rin instead of sleeping, since it’s one of the only chances they’ll get. It’s so sweet and shows that Haru does value the time he gets to spend with Rin, whether it’s swimming-related or not.

Haruka: What is it like living in Sydney?

Rin: It’s pretty good. I train with my friends every day, then we go eat after training.

Haruka: So you made new friends there.

Rin: Yeah. There’s David, Chris, Johann, my coach Mikhail, and many more.

Haruka: Were you able to see a sight you’ve never seen before with these friends?

Rin: Eh? I wonder… I probably did see it, but…nothing compares to the sight I saw when swam with you and the others, I don’t think. What about you, Haru?

Haruka: Same here.

So the guys are just chatting about their life in Tokyo and Australia when suddenly, Haru brings up the “sight you’ve never seen before” motif. Both Rin and Haru cherish that “sight” they saw together, the one that Rin promised to show Haru during their first ever relay as a team. For Rin, “Nothing compares” to it and Haru agrees. (Also, can we please appreciate how Haru wants to know if Rin’s new friends can show him that “sight?” Hahaha Haru, luv, your jealousy is showing).

Rin: Let’s nap for an hour?

Haruka: Okay.

Rin: Do you know how to put down your seat?

Haruka: Right here?

Rin: Yeah.

(silence)

Haruka: This reminds me, around this time last year, we slept together like this, Rin.

Rin: Huh? …oh you mean the hotel in Sydney?

Haruka: My whole world changed since that day.

AHAHAHAHA omg—Rin is all, “Great let’s sleep” and after a few moments of silence, Haru’s suddenly goes “REMEMBER WHEN WE SLEPT LIKE THIS TOGETHER IN THE BED RIN??? IT WAS LAST YEAR AND RIGHT NOW TOTALLY REMINDS ME OF HOW WE SLEPT TOGETHER LIKE THIS IN THE HOTEL ROOM” KSSFKSDKDKK I’m CACKLING, omg Haru’s too much 😂 Rin’s tryign to sleep and out of the blue Haru starts reminiscing on RinHaruralia and how they slept together and he wants Rin to reminisce too 😂 Haru’s so sentimental around Rin it’s so friggin precious. And Rin’s just all “YAWN oh yeah…the hotel YAWNS” and I imagine Haru with his hands behind his head, reclining in his seat and smiling up at the stars through the windshield as he says “Yeah and my entire world’s been changed ever since that day we slept together like this Rin.” People this drama cd is too much omg.

Haruka: I want to… swim relay again.

Rin: Let’s swim together. But on the world stage this time! I don’t know what the team will be like, though.

Haruka: Yeah. One day, definitely.

Haruka: Rin?

Haruka: He’s asleep.

Haruka: One day, definitely, we’ll see a sight we’ve never seen before again.

THE END

Sentimental Haru is too precious for this world. I love that when RinHaru is together, our sensitive and quick-to-tears shark prince is the one who’s all chill and laid-back while it’s Haru—the prince of bare-minimum expressiveness—is the nostalgic, sappy one. Do you see what these two bring out in each other? They complement each other in such a dynamic and interesting way, it’s lots of fun to watch/hear them together, especially now that they’re friends again (though they’re entertaining to watch as rivals, too).

aww thanks!! the designs were not all mine, i worked with a friend hahaha. back then idk why but opening the shop and all that made me so proud. put it in my cv and all that lmao. it did bring up an interesting topic during job interviews lmao.

i know the dedication of this fandom for louis is so amazing! remember project no control? yeah that was wild as well! i love how we can come together and unite to support our fav person.

i know!!! the storm is not so bad? idk it’s really different than rainstorm. now it’s just super cold and the snow is not stopping. i think this is the coldest ive ever felt in berlin. ive done my groceries for this week so i can stay at home, but im really curious of the snow lmaoooo bc ive never experienced this. might go out for 5 min to enjoy the snow.

ohh how’s the philippines??? tbh ive only gone to singapore and malaysia HDBSAJ we’re the same. i do want to travel southeast asia more!! i want to visit thailand!!! the food there hahahah (i’ll make everything about food lmao) noo i get it! bali is tbh the most popular destination. it’s the first tourist destination i think? or one of the first. locals also adore bali! but now we’ve so many other places to visit im excited!

i want to see the northern lighst so baddddd!!!! like im in europe now!!!! i thought i could visit it last year bc i’ve secured a job and all but then covid lmao. i also want to visit komodo island, and the islands near it!!! want to experience to stay on a boat (ive seen people when they visit the island they stay on a boat sounds fun). and want to visit south africa as well!!!! my aunt lives there and every pic she’s sent makes me yearn to visit there lmaoo.

If you have the time/energy/motivation, could you elaborate on ur view of the difference of 1D vs other boy bands specially in context of social media developments? I’m very interested in that and it sounds like u have some very interesting thoughts/theories on that. And maybe about how the boys relationships with sm changed?

Oh man, okay. So first you have to remember in the heyday of BSB/NSYNC we really didnt have sm to speak of. There were fansites through geocities (omggg there was midi music that auto played and they were SO UGLY lmao) and message boards and we shared fic through *checks notes* Yahoo groups. Yes. We shared fic through email. (I was probs too young to be reading or writing that content but uh no one was checking IDs and I was an accomplished liar by this point lol)

Any information about the group was gained through press releases and scheduled interviews and teen magazines like Tiger Beat and Bop. It was very, very curated. Their squeaky clean reputations were easy to control. Also their personal relationships. The only ones who had visible relationships were Justin (promoship with Britney), Lance (bearding with Danielle Fishel) and AJ (promoship with the lead singer of some girlband they tried to push from the same label whose name escapes me at the moment).

Sound familiar? What they didn't have was visible relationships with regular girls. Joey was in a longterm relationship with a noncelebrity and had a baby with her (and later married her after the band announced "hiatus") and NO ONE KNEW SHE EXISTED. Remaining visibly single to fans was important.

Sorry, that's beside the point lol. But I keep pointing it out because it's WEIRD. And raises valid questions about why. (I mean, we KNOW why, but it's something that gets ignored a lot)

So. Then you have 1D. And Twitter was coming into it's own by that point and you had a platform that reached a whole bunch of fans at once and they could share their experiences/excitement immediately with a whole bunch of people and create this huge community of fans. And the boys could speak to fandom directly! And make cute funny videos! And answer questions! And basically fan engagement became this whole other level, making fans feel like they KNEW these guys in a way that had never really been done before. It was a total game changer for fandom.

Obviously, smm eventually stepped in and started controlling the flow of information and fan engagement, but in the beginning before it got massive, it wasn't controlled. And we know that their accounts later got used to push official narratives (I have a theory that the reason Liam typed like he did back then was a small rebellion to make it harder for a smm to impersonate him) and they did not enjoy that but I also think they didn't enjoy how invasive it was at times too. Pretending to be open and available at all times while also toeing the party line and not revealing too much has to be exhausting.

So now we get different relationships with sm. Harry's is very carefully curated, Niall's is used only to promote things (while still engaging fans on a one to one basis), Louis' is very much about showing that he and his fans are a team and in this together, Liam has pulled back a LOT on fan engagement in the last year (I kinda wonder if that's because he only gets asked abt his album and bear and doesn't want to answer those questions) but still appears to let fans see behind the scenes (in official videos which is kind of unique and I dont hate it - Liam has always been very good at seeming like he's giving an all access pass without revealing much of anything that he doesn't want revealed) and Zayn basically left everything to a smm until he didn't have one anymore. I don't think he likes sm very much and with the abuse that's been heaped on him from it, I don't blame him one bit.

I don't know that any of this MEANS anything, but I find it interesting how each of them appears to have found a way to cope with sm that's distinctly unique to them.

(and as always, these are just my opinions/observations and ymmv)
