How would rio and y/n react if marcus brings a girl home?
Okay, so my imagination ran wild with this one. It's a bit lengthy, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it nonetheless. I’m glad to finally have gotten a bit of a creative spark. Hopefully, I’m not rusty. Please excuse any grammatical errors. This isn't heavily edited and I went with the flow. It would be greatly appreciated if you all love, comment, and reblog. Please understand (I know some get tired of hearing it but it’s important) that writing fanfiction takes time and dedication. Then there is the fact that it’s free. Tapping the love button is cool, but it’s the reblogs that help writers. Try to keep that in mind 💓.
Word Count: 3,500+
Warnings: A bit of fluff, laughter, and a little *cough, a hefty piece of* spice.

The aroma of garlic wafted through your newly renovated kitchen. It had been an early Mother's Day present from Rio and the babies. Your husband swaggered into the kitchen fresh out of the shower. He watched you stir the pasta and smiled as you made a mental note aloud to add more cream cheese. The deep timbre of your husband's voice startled you.
“Stay put mama. I'll grab some for you,” he rasped, lips brushing the side of your neck. His hand left a gentle squeeze on your hip.
“Damn it, Chris. Baby, I told you to stop sneaking up on me like that. I should've known your stealthy, fine ass was nearby. The scent of your cologne and body wash should've given you away.”
He stepped back over to the stove adding cheese. You shivered as his fingers danced up your spine, curling around to the front of you. You hummed as his hand lightly cupped your throat. As if your body knew exactly what he wanted, you tilted your head, angling it so he could gain access. Rio’s lips trailed light kisses up your neck, across the jawline.
“Food smells good, darling. When we eatin’?”
You chuckled, slapping at his hand as his finger dipped into the alfredo sauce.
“Boy! Get your fingers out of my pan.”
“Damn, ma! I can't get a little taste. Come on, mama. Daddy’s hungry,” he groaned.
“That's on you. Shouldn't have skipped lunch.”
Rio kissed his teeth, swatting your bottom playfully.
“You know I was handling business, sweetheart. Don't start,” he teased.
“Let that have been me not eating. You would've jumped in my shit.”
His head shook in disagreement, “Mm no. I would've just brought you some food and insisted you eat.”
“Last time I brought you lunch it turned into an argument.”
“Cause you don't listen. You know you weren't supposed to be anywhere near that warehouse. It was a matter of safety. Where that's concerned, you'll always come first, mama.”
You couldn't help but smile and roll your eyes at the sweet sentiment.
“Whatever, bossy ass. We’ll eat once the oldest baby boy gets here.”
“That's right it's our weekend,” he perked up.
Though there were times Rio wished he could see his son every day. He knew that Marcus was both his and Rhea’s pride and joy. Rio was thankful that they had a healthy co-parenting relationship. Joint custody had always been smooth with Rhea. She'd never dream of ever keeping their son away from his father. He was grateful that they both managed to move on. They both found love again, remarried, and everyone seemed to get along just fine. Rio loved that you and Rhea found friendship in one another. Your kids adored Rhea just as much as Marcus did you.
“Oh, you thought I was making this fire-ass pasta for you? Nope, Zaddy this for my oldest baby boy,” you teased Rio playfully.
“That’s fine! So long as I get to choose my dessert,” he rasped, his eyes scanning over your body.
Your eyes met, both nibbling at your bottom lip. Just as you were about to dive deeper into the topic, Alexa announced someone was at the front door. You tapped your phone screen, turning on the ring doorbell’s mic.
“Rhea, stop acting like you don’t have a key. Bring your beautiful self into this house.”
You smiled as she giggled her way through the front door.
“We’re in the kitchen,” Rio called out.
“Boy! Stop all that yelling. You wake that baby up and it’s your ass.”
Your husband kissed his teeth, “last I checked this was our house,” he mumbled, walking over to Marcus and pulling him into a bear hug. “What’s up, man?”
Marcus answered his question, immediately following with, “Can I go check on the baby? Where’s everybody else?”
“Rudeness. Are you forgetting something,” Rhea questioned her eager teenager.
She chuckled as he looked at her in confusion as she continued, “Your bonus mama is burning in this kitchen. Probably for you. Did you say hello? Or maybe thank you? Where is her loving,” Rhea jokingly scolded her son.
“Sorry, ma. He replied shyly, hugging you tightly and kissing your cheek. “Thank you for cooking my favorite food.”
“It’s cool handsome,” you started, pinching his cheek. “The kids are in the theater room and the baby is down for the night, but go on up and steal a little sugar.”
Just as he was about to excuse himself, Rhea interrupted him, “Not so fast young man. You’re not slick. Don’t you want to share the news?”
“Mami,” Marcus whined.
“That’s okay, I'll tell them. Go on, scaredy cat.”
Marcus made his escape as Rhea turned back to you and Rio. She bypassed him, linking her arm with yours.
“Come, chica. I’ve got some chisme for you.”
Your husband, the big baby he is, groaned, “Nice to see you too, Rhea. Why am I not included?”
“Are you not in the room? You are included, fool,” Rhea teased.
“Chris, baby. I love you, but hush. I'm trying to see some.”
Both women laughed at him as he rolled his eyes and went silent.
“ Marcus sat down with us sometime last week. Said he wanted to invite his lady friend over for dinner. Our baby has a girlfriend, sis.”
The two of you stared at one another, several seconds passed. As if he was expecting it, Rio sighed, running his hand down his face as the two of you started squealing like school girls.”
“Mama, Rhea, the baby,” he reminded the both of you.
You both clapped a hand over your mouths, silently giggling.
“What's her name? Have you met her? The parents?”
“Baby, chill,” Rio chuckled.
You looked at him, studying him for a moment. Head tilted, you questioned, “You already knew. Didn't you?”
He smirked, “You already know the answer to that, mama. You know I stay ten steps ahead.”
“He told you first,” Rhea questioned.
“Listen, he asked for advice on girls a while back. I suspected then he had his eye on somebody. I played it cool. If you ask too many questions, he’ll shut down. We had the talk. About a week after that. Marcus told me he was talking to someone.”
“The talk,” you and Rhea said in unison. “Should we be worried about where this is going?”
“Ladies relax. It's better to have it early. Just to be on the safe side.”
“You gave him condoms. Didn't you,” Rhea snarked.
“Are you ready to be a grandmother? I mean I’d be the coldest abuelo out here, but let's try to prevent that from happening.”
“He brought her home for dinner the other day. She's so sweet and shy. Her name is Isabella, but she goes by Isa. He's got his papi’s taste. She's Afrolatina, a beautiful young lady!”
“Okay! I see my boy! He found him a woman who embodies two of the most important women in his life,” Rio praised with pride.
“The mom seems to be well-rounded. Surely we don't have anything to worry about,” Rhea insisted.
“The both of you were sweet and shy when I first met you. Need I say more? Then there's those stories your mom told me about your teenage years,” he smirked toward you.
“Sneak one damn boy through your window and you never live it down. Kiss my ass, Christoper,” you cackled, flipping him the bird.
Rio puckered his lips, bending down, laughing as you mugged his forehead.
“Sis! Your ass was hot back in the day, huh?”
“Chill on my wife. Tell me, how old were you when we had Marcus?”
Rhea kissed her teeth, “He got a response for everything, huh,” she asked you. “Anyway! He wants you all to meet her. Can he invite her over for dinner tomorrow?”
Rio smiled at you bouncing on the balls of your feet.
“I take it our answer is yes, mama?”
Tumblr media
After a stressful Saturday afternoon, Rio stepped into the foyer of his home. His eyes drifted shut for a moment as he welcomed the delicious smell of lemon herbs, and the smell of your perfume wafted through the air. Sandals tapped across the wooden floor, Rio’s lashes fluttered open, dancing at the sight of you meeting him at the front door.
“Hey Papa,” you started, smile faltering. You could sense the heaviness of his day. “Long day, baby,” you questioned.
His head tilted to the side, an appreciative smile playing at the corners of his mouth. Rio’s hands cupped your side pulling you into a tight hug as he buried his head in your neck. Breathing you in again, his lips tickled the sensitive spot behind your ear.
“Shit was hectic, but I’m sure some kisses would make me feel better,” he whispered in a sultry tone.
Your hands brushed against his chest, as you tip-toed to reach his lips. He chuckled at your struggle to reach his lips, meeting you the rest of the way. Your lips danced together in soft, slow strokes. The sound of footsteps speeding down the steps interrupted the lip lock.
“Ma! Pops! You’re not going to be doing all that in front of Isa, are you? Why’s it so quiet around here?”
You giggled as Rio reared his head back. “I’m sorry son, I didn’t know you paid bills around here. Y’all be forgetting this my house…our house,” he corrected when you lightly cleared your throat.
“Your siblings can be a lot. We wanted to have time to focus on getting to know your girlfriend. I managed to arrange a night with Nana. They’ll be back tomorrow. She can meet everybody next time we have her over. Don’t worry, baby. Papi and I promise to be on our best behavior,” you teased Marcus.
“I ain’t promising nothin’. Listen, I’ll kiss my wife all I want, bro. Don’t be mad I’m the only one getting kisses around here,” he joked, giving Marcus a playful shove.”
“Pops, chill on me. Who said I ain’t got it like that?”
Rio cackled, dapping Marcus up. The laughter between the two stopped abruptly when they saw you standing straight-faced, head tilted, and arms crossed.
“I’m pretty sure I can speak for your mother when I say this. You better be acting accordingly with that young lady. Nothing short of being respectful is acceptable. Understood?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Your eyes landed on Rio, “Then I got you over here gassing him up.”
“My bad, mama. We’ll tighten up.”
“That’s what I thought,” you finished sauntering off to the kitchen.
Rio turned back to Marcus and they both dapped each other up silently.
“It’s like that, son?”
“I learned from the best,” Marcus responded.
“My boy. Seriously though, not too much. Take things slowly. You have a lot of life to live. Don’t let thinking you're grown get you in trouble. You bring a baby home, and that’s ya ass. Papi can’t save you from the mama squad. If you can’t wait, do at least three things for me. Wrap it up, don’t do it in mine or your mom’s house, and don’t play with her feelings. You better plan on sticking around. Don’t be that guy, son. We’ve raised you better than that.”
“Yessir, I give you my word, pops.”
Rio embraced Marcus and gave his shoulders a firm squeeze as they pulled apart.
“You nervous,” Rio asked as the doorbell sounded.
“Just promise me you won’t let Ma pull out the photo albums.”
“Listen, I’m a man of many talents, but telling that woman not to do something almost always has the opposite effect. Ma listens when it counts,” he smirked, biting his lip.
“That’s information I honestly didn’t need to know, Dad.”
Tumblr media
The first twenty minutes had been hilarious. You, Isa, and her mother all silently laughed at the way Isa’s father stumbled over his words while making introductions with Rio.
Apparently Marcus nor his girlfriend had taken the liberty of giving the poor man a heads up. He had suspected that he was going to assert himself as an overprotective father. One look at Marcus’ father and his bravado and puffed-out chest had deflated. Christopher wasn’t about to be checked by anyone and little did they know, neither were you.
Dinner had gone by smoothly. The two of you succeeded in not embarrassing your son, as did her parents. Isa was a sweet, shy, and intelligent girl. You both loved her for Marcus. The teens had asked permission to have a movie night in the family theatre room. All parents agreed that it would be okay so long as it wasn’t unattended. You had even offered for Isa’s parents to join. Her father needed to finish up some work at home, and Rio along with Marcus, offered to drop her home in a few hours.
As the parents you opted, to sit in the back row of home theatre seats to give them some sort of privacy. You didn’t want to crowd them too much. That and you knew with certainty that Rio was going to get handsy as soon as the lights dimmed. Twenty minutes of screen time had barely passed before his hand started a soft, tingling trail up your thigh. You allowed his fingers to make it inches away from the place he desired before swatting at him. His heated gaze met yours and the left corner of his mouth tilted up as he mouthed the word, “Why?”
Your head cocked to the side as you looked at him as if he were crazy. You sucked your teeth, pointing a finger in the direction of the kids. Rio wrapped his arm around your shoulders, bringing you closer to whisper in your ear, “Oh you really thought I was cold. You know why I pulled this blanket out, mama.” He laughed as you rolled your eyes, shoving him away from you.
“Do that again and I’m sitting in my own lounger,” you sassed.
“All this space and you want to sit by yourself. Don’t be like that, mama.”
You had glanced in the direction of the children to see if they had overheard, but froze as you saw their hands inching closer to one another. Your hand tapped the top of Rio’s repetitively to get him to look. The two of you shared a smile at the innocence of the situation. Marcus looked back as the two of you tried to focus your attention elsewhere. The teen shook his head as his hand shifted away some. The two of you kissed your teeth and the sound echoed off the theatre walls as Marcus shook his head and Isa giggled.
It felt as if you had ruined the moment, and Rio attempted to correct the situation. Clearing his throat he asked the room, “Anybody want chips? Popcorn? Something to drink?”
You caught on and joined in, “I could go for some ice water and we can share a snack babe. Let’s go round up some refreshments.”
The kids had started to decline, but the two of you left in a hurry.
Rio propped himself against the kitchen island with his hands clasped. You crept towards your husband smirking. Your arms wrapped around his neck and you asked, “How much time should we give them to be unsupervised?”
“That depends, mama. Are you trying to be a responsible parent or a laid-back one? Responsible would be in the realm of maybe five or ten minutes. Laidback–about twenty or so.”
Rio’s hands traveled the length of your back, down to your plush backside. With a gentle squeeze, he continued, “I’m leaning towards laidback, mama,” he rasped. “Maybe we can take that time alone to–connect ourselves.”
“You truly have a one-track mind. We are not about to do anything with a guest in the house. Do you know what teenagers can do in twenty or so minutes?”
“Mama, what’s the most that could happen?”
“Our last child happened in twenty minutes, Rio.”
“We were pressed for time, and I was down bad for you that night, mama.”
“You’re always down bad for me. Even at this moment, you are.”
“No lies told. If you know that, stop playing. C’mere, mama.”
Rio nibbled at your neck, even as you continued to protest, “Rio, seriously. We should head back soon.”
“C’mon, mama. Let that boy cook for a few minutes. I told him to take things slow and to never do anything like that under his mom’s or our roof.”
“Oh, and you think that’s gon’ stop him?”
“Why wouldn’t it?”
“This is coming from the man, that was giving me backshots under his grandmother’s roof last Christmas.”
“We’re married with a ton of children. Trust and believe, she knows you’re getting handed pipe left and right, mama.”
“You get on my damn nerves. Always got a response–.”
The sentence came to a halt as Rio’s hand slipped into the opening of your dress, tugging a nipple through the silk material of your bra.
“F-fuck, Rio, don’t.”
His lips hovered over yours. The minty freshness of his breath fanning across your bottom lip. He nipped at it before asking, “You really want me to stop, mama?”
“Pantry, now.”
With those two words, Rio picked you up, legs wrapping around his waist, as he carried you to the destination. The door softly clicked closed, as he pressed you against some of the shelving. Your lips collided, tongues stroking one another, battling for dominance. The hem of your dress shifted upward, bunching at your waist. Rio groaned as his tented dark wash jeans ground against your damp panties. A moan slipped from your lips and he shushed you.
“Gotta keep quiet baby,” he whispered as his lips moved to suck at your throat.
His lips continued to nip and suck at your flesh. His long muscular fingers tugged your panties to the side as two fingers massaged your folds before gliding in to slowly stretch you out. The delicious feeling turned you into a whimpering mess as your hips began to rock against his movements.
“Yeah, just like that, mama. Are you gonna be my good girl and come all over my fingers? Yeah, you are. Aren’t you?”
He leaned in, tucking into the side of your neck, and whispered, “Bite down on my shoulder if you need to, darling.”
One of your hands slipped under his shirt as your nails scratched at his skin. You leaned back and pleaded, “Choke me, Daddy. Keep me quiet.”
The minute his hand wrapped around your throat, Rio added a third finger, thrusting in quick, deep strokes. His lips pecked your lips as he groaned, “Come for me, mama. Make a mess all over my fingers.”
All you needed was one last stroke to send you over the edge, but everything came to a halt as you both heard footsteps coming toward the kitchen. The two of you broke apart, fixing your clothes at the speed of lightning. The moment the knob to the pantry door turned, Rio snatched it open, pulling it closed with a bag of chips and a case of soda under his arm.
Marcus eyed his father suspiciously before speaking, “Isa got thirsty and you two were taking forever. So I came to get her some fruit snacks and a soda.”
Rio handed him a soda and explained, “We were coming back. Your pops negotiated a little alone time for ya. Did anything interesting happen?”
Marcus blushed a bit and responded, “Pops, can’t we talk about this later? I don’t want to keep Isa waiting.”
“You right man. Here take this soda and I’ll bring the fruit snacks and the rest of the stuff. Ma and I will be right in. She had to take care of something right quick.”
“Alright, Pops. Thanks.”
Marcus made it a few steps out of the kitchen before ducking his head back around the corner. Rio had started to turn back toward the pantry as he spoke up, “Pops? Tell Ma she can come out of the pantry now. Next time aim for a place that doesn’t house the food we eat.”
“Yeah, okay, wiseass. You’ll understand when you get older and have your own meddlesome ass kids. Take your lady her beverage and mind your business. You just couldn’t let your daddy cook in peace. Could you son?”
You were mortified and could barely look your bonus son in the eye for days.

being tara's friend and starring on the podcast!! getting borderline wasted with her and zach during the show and drunkenly admitting you'd have a threesome with the two of them <3
Tumblr media
ive been putting this off bc of motivation but x. x we finally got our zachyummy x reader fic !!!! who cheered :3 ??
fyi it's a little implied that tara n reader have alr slept together <3 js for the simplicity , also it's a little choppy at the end but it's js bc idk how 2 end it <//3
Tumblr media
you felt a little warm as you sipped on your beer, watching tara banter with zach. you and tara have been friends for years, meeting each other because of jake, but you had only met zach a couple of months ago. you got along well with him, you just weren't as bubbly as tara was.
tara giggled and leaned her head onto your shoulder, listening to jared ask a question. "out of all your friends," he says with a giggle, his face a little red from the beer. "who would you be most likely to sleep with?"
you glanced at tara, watching as she wrinkled her nose and said nobody while zach tried to pry for more. in a split moment of drunken confidence you blurted out, "well, zach, but i think id want tara's emotional support there too." you barely finish the sentence as you feel embarrassment rush through you, zach already whistling and giggling into the mic.
it was the first time tara had glanced at you back that night, smiling to herself as she finished off her bottle.
by the time the podcast ended, tara was offering everyone over to her place knowing that jared had plans. seeing that you and zach were free, you both agreed to come over. huddling on either side of tara in the uber that she ordered, she talked idly so the ride wasn't awkward.
you probably should've noticed that tara was getting touchier and going past the friendly flirting, but you were too tipsy to process. only noticing the tension when tara had backed you into zach, your eyes meeting his equally shocked and flushed face.
you would've felt more shame for how fast you allowed tara to do this if it didn't feel so good, her lipstick smearing against your jaw and face while she left comforting kisses. her hand threaded in zach's hair as she kept him in place, his big hands keeping you spread as he took turns from teasingly licking you and completely working his tongue into you.
"jesus christ woman," he huffs, pulling you closer by your thighs. causing you to slide down so your head is resting in between tara's legs. "i can eat them out myself, get your claws off of'm." he makes no effort to pull away from her hand, which makes her pet his hair.
you sniffle, whining as he continues eating you out. pressing rough kisses against your clit before sucking it, you can tell he's grinding onto the couch from the shifting. "fuck, zach you need to get more fingers in," tara mutters, moving her hand away from his head so both her hands could cup your tits.
he barely lifts his head to see what he's doing before he's listening and slipping in a finger inside, looking up to watch your face screw up and admiring tara's tanned skin against yours.
"good enough for you, ms. yummy?" he asks teasingly, pressing kisses along your thighs and up your stomach as he works in a second finger. "shut up, zach." is all she says before giggling and pulling him into a kiss, both of them whimpering into the kiss as you're trying to keep your eyes open to watch.

Tumblr media
You yawn as you look into the barren depths of your cup. Bucky sits up and rolls his shoulders, a dimple in his cheek. He looks you over as you furrow your brow curiously; do you have something on your face?
“W-what?” You bat your lashes.
“Should've got ya something with caffeine,” he says.
“Oh… little l-late,” you look over as the baristas wipe the counters. It's almost closing time, “s-s-speaking of-f.”
“Mm, yeah, I suppose,” he slides over his stapled papers, “you got all my notes. When I get back, we'll figure out the final draft and get the mic going.”
“S-sounds g-good,” you stutter and swallow another yawn. When you're tired, you can barely speak straight. “I sh-should head ou-out.”
You chomp down as yet another yawn rolls up your throat and your eyes nearly roll back. You smile as best you can and stand, grabbing your bag to pack up. He gets to his feet and pulls on his jacket.
“I'll give you a ride,” he offers.
“No, n-no, it's o-okay–”
“You shouldn't walk,” he looks outside as the night contrasts the white ground, snow still piling high.
“J-just as bad d-driving,” you comment.
“I got snow tires,” he insists, “really, I'd… I'd feel bad if you walked.”
“Y-you would?” You snort.
He gives you a look. That look. The one that warns caution. You put your hands up defenselessly.
“Fine, I-I'll let y-you drive m-me,” you surrender. “B-b-but you should know, I'm n-not that h-ho-hopeless.”
“Never said you were,” he pulls a beanie over his gray hair, “not a big fan of the cold myself.”
“Yeah, i-it probably m-makes your b-bones hurt,” you slide your arms into your coat.
“You making fun of me?” He scowls.
“No-o, I just… my st-stepdad always says–”
“It's fine. It does,” he sniffs, “cracked a few ribs playing ball in college. They never heal right.”
“Ouch,” you hook your bag on your shoulder.
“You got a curfew?” He checks his watch.
“Wh-what? I-I'm thirty,” you exclaim.
He chuckles. That takes you off guard.
“I know, I'm not too old to make jokes too.”
“Y-yeah, I w-wasn't–”
“Relax, it's fine. Better go before we're snowed in,” he leads you to the door, thanking the staff as he opens the door and waits for you to go ahead of him.
Well, there might blizzard brewing outside but he seems to be thawing.
🩶
You get home to a quiet house. Your sister, Kira, hushes you as you come upstairs, her children already asleep. She has a clay mask on as she hogs the bathroom going through her nightly routine. You dip into your room and hide.
You didn't expect them to wait up for you. That's ridiculous, but no one even asked about the job. It must be the excitement of a full house. Your sister does everything right so of course they'd want to focus on her. Maybe tomorrow.
You get in your pajamas and settle into bed. It’s hard to still your mind and the jittery energy still swirling inside of you. You put on a lofi video and let it play as you close your eyes. You have the weekend to make the last tweaks and you’ll finally be onto the next step. You hope.
You spend Saturday penned up in your room, hunched over at your desk as you go through the notes from your meeting. As the clock ticks close to noon, your phone vibes, drawing you back to the land of the living. You rub your eye sockets and groan. You need to eat.
You check your phone; you have a message. You flick your thumb up and blink at the text. It’s Bucky. You still haven’t saved him as a contact, recognising him only by the last four digits of his number.
‘Quick pitstop. Forgot to ask last night. How can I pay you?’
You chew your thumb as you think. That’s the awkward part. Even though you’re doing work, it’s still a bit strange. It isn’t like a company where the money just pops into your account on schedule.
‘I can give details when you get back. Hate to add stress to your trip.’
You hit send and sit back, stretching your neck. Your phone buzzes again. You don’t expect a quick response.
‘Asking now. Will be heading into no reception. Wanted to pay you for scriptwork. Will pay rest after recording.’
Your stomach knots. You’re trying to be polite but you can’t deny that you could use the money. With Christmas tiptoeing closer, you should really get on gift shopping.
‘Right. I have Venmo.’
You tap the arrow and wait. He doesn’t answer right away. When he answers, it’s just the thinking emoji, followed by another text.
‘I’ll figure that out. Do I need your email or something?’
You sweep away the chat and tap into your app. You copy your payment code and paste it into the chat. You follow it with a quick message; ‘should prompt you how. If you need to wait, it’s fine.’
Thumbs up. That’s it. You accept that. To be fair, from him, it’s an improvement. It seems you’ve found a tenuous truce with him. You’ll take that if it means you’re not scooping into your savings.
You can hear your sister and mother gabbing as you leave your room. You stop at the top of the stairs and brace yourself. Things didn’t exactly leave off on the best terms.
You descend and sneak past the dining room where they sit and sort through your mother’s vast Christmas card collection. You’re careful not to draw any attention as you enter the kitchen and quietly pop a pod into the keurig and set your mug on the tray.
Your coffee brews with a grind, giving away your endeavour. You don’t look back as you hear the scuff of slippers. Kira enters and clinks her empty cup down on the counter not far from you. She couldn’t wait until you finished.
“So, how was your job? A bit late to be rushing off to work.”
“It’s f=freelance,” you say. “It’s g-g-good.”
She scoffs, “ah, well, that’s great. You can get out of mom and dad’s hair soon enough.”
“Y-yeah,” you agree, cheeks scalding with embarrassment, “w-working on i-it.”
“Oh, I’m sure. You know, Catherine called me the other day…” she mentions your previous coworker, her friend from college, “guess she got a promotion.”
You nod. She’s goading you. What does she expect you to say? Does she expect you to apologise for leaving a bad situation?
You take your cup of coffee and sidle away. She chuckles, the way she always does when you don’t feed into her drama. Her mug hits the tray heavily.
“I’ll tell her you say hi,” she preens.
You keep going without an answer. You yawn as you come upstairs and hear whispers ahead of you. You rush forward, sloshing hot coffee onto your hand as you approach your open door. Why didn’t you close it?”
As you get to the threshold, there’s a sudden clatter and you gasp. Jamie sits in your desk chair as your laptop lays face down on the floor. Casey is underneath the desk tugging on the power cord. You shriek and sloppily slam the mug onto the shelf mounted just beside the door.
“W-w-w-what are you d-d-doing?” Your emotion overwhelms your voice, “how–”
You hear footsteps rush up the stairs and Kira hisses as she marches down the hall, “shhh, my kids are sleeping.”
“No, th-they aren’t,” you hurry forward and take Jamie out of the chair. As you shoo Casey, your sister enters your room.
“Don’t hurt him,” she demands.
“Wh-what? I w-wouldnt–”
“Don’t touch my kids,” she comes forward and scoops up Casey then takes Jamie’s hand, “they’re just curious.”
You bend down to pick up your laptop. You turn it over and find lines streaked up in a spectrum. Smashed. Broken. Demolished.
“They b-broke it,” you whimper.
“Ugh, whatever,” she hauls her kids back to the door, “it’s just a computer.”
You stare at the ruins and shake your head at her back. What are you going to do?

when the world stops turning (my heart stops beating)
hello hello i bring you some actual writing for once how exciting !! this is based off this post by @acowardinmordor once i saw it my brain just wouldn't stop until i fleshed it out into something relatively coherent so here it is !! if this does well i'll probably put it up on ao3 later
ao3 pt. 2 pt. 3 pt. 4
cw: drugs, illusions to drug abuse and overdose, minor character death, illusions to major character death (probably temporary), panic attack, medical crisis
When Eddie was eight years old, he found his mother on the bathroom floor, a half-empty bottle of pills in her hand. She wouldn't wake up. Eddie hadn't known what to do, so he wandered across the way to his favorite neighbor’s house. Mrs. Westbrooke was an older widow who'd lived in the same house for decades. Once Eddie had told her his mom wasn't waking up, she called for an ambulance. The paramedics came and took his mom to the hospital. Eddie stayed with Mrs. Westbrooke until Wayne came to pick him up.
That was the first time he spent more than a night or two at Wayne’s. It was about a week and a half before he was taken back home. The same thing happened a year and a half later. His mom passed out on the kitchen floor that time, and it was a baggie of colorful pills instead. Something she'd gotten from a friend of his dad. Something his dad had gotten her hooked on several months prior, when the doctor stopped writing her prescriptions. He was with Wayne for three days before his dad came to get him. Two weeks later, he was on Wayne’s doorstep with a single bag of everything he owned, his dad behind bars. He'd been with Wayne ever since.
His uncle had made a promise to him that first night, when Eddie finally realized this was it. He was with Wayne for good. There was no going back. He'd promised Eddie none of that would ever happen again. He didn't have to worry about Wayne disappearing in the flashing red and blue lights. He wouldn't find him half-dead on the floor of their trailer. He was safe. Eddie believed him. For years, Eddie believed Wayne was right. He'd never once let Eddie down before. He was always there. He took him in when he had nowhere else to go.
Too bad Wayne couldn't have predicted this.
New York City. June 1994. A sold out show at Madison Square Garden. Eddie on stage with his best friends. His boyfriend watching from the wings. How it was always supposed to go.
The air was fizzing with energy. The crowd was screaming so loud. Eddie’s heart was pounding, blood rushing with adrenaline. He kissed Steve hard in the green room, a promise between them of more to come. Steve wished him luck, and it was time to take the stage. They'd finally made it. All their hard work was paying off.
About halfway through the set, Steve disappeared. Eddie wasn't worried. He didn't know he should've been. When they came off stage, the crowd was still screaming, and the band was riding the high of a great show. It felt amazing. It was more than they ever dreamed, growing up the way they did in a town like Hawkins. Eddie was grinning so wide his cheeks hurt.
“Anyone seen Steve?” he asked, handing off his guitar and starting to pull off his mic pack.
“Not for a while,” one of the techs responded. “Said something about the bathroom, I think, but he never came back.”
Eddie frowned, a little confused. It wasn't like Steve not to be there when he came off stage.
“He's probably just waiting in the green room, Ed,” Gareth said, knocking his shoulder against Eddie’s as he passed. “I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.”
Eddie didn't hang around with the others. He headed straight for the green room, hoping Gareth was right. There was a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. The same feeling he got all those years ago, right before he opened the front door to find his mom on the kitchen floor. It ate away at his insides, churning deep and uncomfortably. His heart was racing, and it was no longer due to the high energy of the show. Panic was coursing through his veins.
His hand hesitated on the door to the green room. He felt eight years old again, knocking on Mrs. Westbrooke’s door when he couldn't wake his mom up to make dinner. His hands trembled as he grabbed the knob and twisted, easing it open. The room was empty. Eddie’s heart plummeted. Steve wasn't there. Steve was missing, and Eddie had this horrible feeling spreading through his entire body. He still wasn't sure why the feeling was there; he had never once had a reason to believe Steve was doing anything harder than weed. It was still there, though, and Eddie was panicking. He needed to find Steve. He had to make sure Steve was okay.
He headed for the bathroom next. The techs had said he went to the bathroom. Maybe something happened. Maybe he hit his head and couldn't remember where he was. The feeling said otherwise, but Eddie refused to believe it. He was overreacting. Steve was fine.
He was lying to himself.
The bathroom door was unlocked. He pushed it open, knocking. “Steve? Are you in here?” he called. He could barely hear through the rush of blood in his ears. He stepped inside, and he was sure his heart stopped beating altogether.
Just like that, he was ten years old. His mother was dead on the kitchen floor. Mrs. Westbrooke held him on her front porch as his mother was taken away in a blur of red and blue. He was ten years old, watching Wayne’s old pickup coming up the drive. Through the pounding in his ears, he could faintly hear the gravel crunching under the tires of the red truck. An odd comfort. A reminder of safety. What he wouldn't give to have that again right now.
“She wouldn't wake up, Uncle Wayne,” Eddie said softly, his voice trembling as a few tears rolled down his cheeks.
Wayne bent down, his old knees creaking, and pulled Eddie into a tight hug. “I'm sorry, Ed.” He squeezed tighter, letting Eddie bury his face in his worn flannel. “You're gonna come stay with me for a couple days, ‘til everythin' gets settled.”
“I don't got any clothes, Wayne.”
“Don't you worry ‘bout that right now. We’ll figure somethin’ out. I promise it’ll be alright.”
Steve was lying on the bathroom floor. Eddie couldn't breathe. There was a bag of colorful pills, so similar to the ones his mom had taken, sitting on the sink counter. Next to it was a line of white powder. Eddie’s vision blurred with tears as he dropped next to Steve, shaking his shoulder.
“Steve? Steve, baby, wake up. Please wake up.” Eddie was gasping for breath through his sobs as he tried to shake Steve awake. It wasn't working. He wasn't waking up.
“Mama? Mama, come on. You gotta get up.” Eddie crouched down next to her, shaking her shoulder. “Mama, please. You can't sleep on the floor.”
“Please, baby,” Eddie begged, pulling Steve into his arms on the bathroom floor. “Please. I can't lose you too, Steve. You gotta wake up. Please wake up.”
“Eddie? Are you okay?” The bathroom door opened. Jeff walked in, stopping dead in the doorway. It only took a few seconds for him to gain his bearings and jump into action. He crossed quickly, bending down next to them. “Shit. What happened?”
“I- he- he won't wake up, Jeff,” Eddie sobbed, still holding Steve tightly.
“Okay. Okay, let's not panic yet.”
The cracks in Jeff’s voice were not comforting. Eddie was already panicking. He'd been panicking since the feeling started to solidify, since he didn't find Steve in the green room. Eddie was well past not panicking. Eddie was teetering on the edge of a full-blown panic attack.
Jeff glanced around, took notice of the drugs on the counter, the way Steve’s chest wasn't rising or falling. He wasn't breathing at all. Jeff stood up quickly. “I'll go get help. I’ll be right back, Eddie. It's gonna be okay.”
Jeff ran from the bathroom. Eddie could barely hear the slap on his shoes on the linoleum in the hall over the sound of his own sobbing, the blood still rushing in his ears despite it feeling like his heart had stopped beating. He held Steve against his chest, burying his face in his hair. He silently begged the universe not to take Steve away from him. He wouldn't be able to handle losing anyone else. He needed Steve.
Eddie wasn't sure how much time passed before Jeff came back, paramedics in tow. All he knew was that Steve wasn't waking up. No matter how hard he tried, no matter how much he begged and cried, Steve wasn't waking up. His skin was pale and starting to grow cold. There's remnants of white powder on his nose. The paramedics try to move him from Eddie’s arms, but Eddie can't let go. He can't lose Steve.
“Eddie, you have to let go,” Jeff said gently, trying to tug Eddie’s arms off Steve.
Eddie shook his head. “I- I can't- can't, Jeff,” he forced out between sobs.
“The paramedics are gonna help him, Ed, but they can't do that unless you let go.”
“The paramedics are gonna try to help your mama, honey,” Mrs. Westbrooke promised eight-year-old Eddie as they watched from her porch. “Everything'll be alright, don't you worry.”
He missed Mrs. Westbrooke. He wished she were here to hold him, tell him he would be okay. He wanted to sit on her porch in the creaky rocking chairs, eating fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. He wanted safety and familiarity. It'd been a hard day for Eddie when the old woman died. He'd give anything to be back there with her, instead of here in this living nightmare.
Eddie reluctantly released Steve. The paramedics moved him to lie flat on the floor. Jeff’s arms wrapped around Eddie as he continued to sob. Eddie’s hands grasped at Jeff’s shirt. It was clean and dry. He must've changed after the show. Before he found them. The paramedics took Steve away, but Eddie couldn't move. He couldn't breathe. His whole body shook. He couldn't stop sobbing. Over and over, all he could think was that he felt like a little kid again, back when everything was falling apart. Steve was going to die, just like his mom did.
It was all Eddie’s fault.

Ran Haitani x F!Reader
master list
fluff | female!reader | ib that one ts scene (im sad now)
warning : you're an idol? none.
A/N: hello, here's an old oneshot that i had uploaded on Wattpad but forgot to upload it here, I've been a little dead and unmotivated when it comes to writing, not that i hate it, it's more of a i started to become a little to aware of my way of writing stories, I'll work on that since i have a fanfic i wanted to finish lol, anw, bye for now
Tumblr media
The loud cheers from the sea of crowds were the only thing filling up the enormous stadium, you and your idol members continues to keep their energy shined out from the very beginning of the concert till to this very second, your body moved and keep on track to the right rhythm playing in your 'in ear monitor' moving position's and changing turns for each other own part of the song
As you continue to sings all out to your hearts content, you couldn't helped but looked around through the vip section of the seat, hoping to see a certain tall lanky figure with a purple haired and black streaks dyed men sitting somewhere in the vip crowd's
You threw a glance to the vip section every once in a while, not wanting to be seen as if you were searching for someone specific in the crowds which could grew suspicion to the fans since there is always cameras pointing at them each second. dating was not something banned in your entertainment company, but they gave out a heads up on how those delusional fans could get a bit too rowdy and wild when it comes out to their lovely idol getting their selves a significant other, and it wasn't something that is easy to control...
For what have felt like ages you've been looking out for the obvious purple colored haired men that should've been easily spotted since the hair color stands out a lot, you didn't found him, your heart dropped a bit by the fact you weren't able to find him in the vip crowd, even with the very few minutes break to interact with your crowd of lovely fans asking how their days have been going so far and if they have been enjoying their selves with the performance your group idol have been giving out to them, you weren't able to find him, your bright smile fall off for a momentarily before a forced out one rise back up to your lips
You weren't sad nor disappointed that he weren't there, he has always been a busy man himself, having to deal with their clubs and other businesses work stuff in hand, it were expected that he wouldn't be able to appear and show support in your idol group performance all the time, but he had given out the most sweetest words and promise's on how he will 100% show up on the vip crowd and cheering you like he's your number one fan, but it seems that he got himself busy or maybe something unavoidable happened that he couldn't cancel the plans out
"Y/n, are you ok?" your friend whispered out to you as she sent you a worried expression, you quickly snapped your head towards the girl and nodded telling her that you were more than fine, which she did not believed in the slightest "you're horrible at lying you know~" "do i?" she only let out a giggle and put her arms around your shoulder and proceeds to close her mouth with the back of her hands
"You're looking for him, don't you?" the mic that each of the idol members were given were all hand mic which you were thankful about since this conversation that had just started were only between you and the member only to know, you then closed your mouth with the back of your hand too and put the right hand which were the hand you were holding onto the mic fell to the side of your thigh "was it that obvious?" she only nodded and once again let's out another giggle
"We could go and search for him in the crowds if you wanted to?" she whispered again with her mouth covered with the back of her hands "isn't that too risky?" sending her a nervous smile she shrugged at your words "we'll just multitask between searching for him and interact with the fans and read their hilarious board too~"
And just with that, you agreed and started walking to the other 3 members of your group, had a minute talk before you all decided to go a bit more closer to the vip crowd from the stage, looking and interacting a bit with the fans
You and the previous girl that have had been talking with you were walking at the left side of the stage waving, laughing at those creative and funny board the fans held up for you all to read, flashing them smiles and having a short talk and selfies using their phones, but even with all of the stuff you were doing your best to interact with the fans, your eyes kept on searching for him, silently
You were starting to lose hope before you saw a group of 12 light stick of your f/c glow sticks that flashing right at the corner of your eyes, you turned around and were met with the sight of 3 grown man, in suits, one with horribly bright pink hair and the other two with a short and long purple hair, waving your glow sticks at your way, each one of them had two f/c glow sticks in each hand
And there you were met with his beautiful purple gaze, you couldn't helped but let the wide smile crept upon your lips at the sight of it as a laughter bubble up in your throat, ready to burst out from your lips by the sight of them
Rindou clearly seemed like he were too tired to even be there, sanzu were just confused but has kinda gotten the spirit to wave the stick in the sky aggressively, and then there was ran, ran haitani, his gaze screamed "head over heels" and the soft smile has been plastered on him for as long as he could remembered, watching you shine brighter than you already are up on the tall stage, he couldn't helped but let his heart melt a bit at the sight of it
The next thing you knew, without any hesitation, you blowout a kiss to the crowd of fans which made the row of seat squeal in happiness, thinking it were given to them when clearly it were sent to the purpled haired man, but they didn't need to know thay only the both of you do (and rin and sanzu, but not the point), ran reach out his hands for the blown kiss, grabbed it and dramatically put his balled fist on his chest as if had took the kiss you had gave and kept it inside of his heart
Now knowing that ran were 100% in the crowds, watching over you, you couldn't helped but give out an even MORE outstanding performance even after all of the hours, even after your legs were giving out on you and you were breathing in for air, you wanted to give out 1000% of your all
After the last song were performed, you and your group of friends send out the thankyou's for the crowds and waving them a goodbye before you and the other 4 members disappeared from the stage
At the backstage, you were each given a bottle of water by the staff as they told to every members that they all have done an outstanding performance today like any other performance, thanking for their words one of the other staff called out for your name, telling you that a certain dude named ran haitani were looking for your presence, and with that being told, you took off and ran
looking around for ran in the long hallway of the backstage, you finally found his figure, both hands in each side of the pockets, he turned his head around towards the rapid foot steps that were running towards his way, realizing that it was only you, he sent out another soft smile and he removed both arms from the pockets
"i thought you didn't came! i got so sad when i couldn't find you" and with that, you wrapped your arms around his neck tightly "really now?" he said with an obvious teasing voice lacing in his tone, with your face buried on the crook of his neck, you nodded your head while still hugging tightly onto him "i thought you had to cancel it and had to do other stuff" your words slightly muffled out but still managed to make sense to his ears "i always keep my promises, i am a man of my words after all..." hugging you back tightly, he kissed the crown of your head and let the side of his face fell on top of yours
"and what's with rindou and sanzu coming too? i thought it was just gonna be you?" you lifted your head to look at his eyes "i can't hold all 12 of your glow sticks all alone you know?" you sweat dropped a bit at his words "12 glows stick? why did you got that much?" "just so i can stand out the most" you could only laughed at his statement and shook your head a bit at it
"i think the suit and purple hair already stand out quite a lot if you asked me"

December 23rd, 1997 - Chicago Stadium
It was the last night of tour before the four of you, exhausted, would travel back to Indiana. It's a short flight, but getting the kids on a jet at midnight didn't sound like the Christmas Eve Eve plans you wanted to make. The twins were fussy backstage, the nanny long sent home earlier that morning since they'd have Wayne and everyone else to help you in Hawkins.
It was half way through the set and the kids should've been sleeping but they wanted to watch from the wings with you, Vi in your arms and Van by your feet -- both safe in headphones made to fit them perfectly to block out the sound. As the song ends and the crowd screams, you can see Eddie running toward you backstage, pulling his guitar from over him with a tech rushing by you to retrieve it. He only has a minute or two while Jeff works the crowd but he never wastes it. His skin shines with sweat, tattoos glimmering over his arms and chest.
"Hey, you havin' fun?" he doesn't wait for an answer, pulling you in from the back of then neck to kiss you. His mouth is cold from the water he's been drinking, he tastes like the faint twang of tequila from the flask in his back pocket. A hint of his mid-show cigarette lingers on his lips.
"Are you having fun, sleepy girl?" he asks Violet, she giggles and hides in the curls that match her dad's, "Shouldn't you be in bed?"
He looks down, seeing Van nearly jumping out of his little leather jacket to have his dad pick him up, "Shouldn't you be in bed, too?"
Eddie scoops him up, smattering his face in kisses -- Van shrieks in laughter so Violet laughs, too. Never one to miss out on kisses, she reaches for her dad desperately before Eddie pops her onto his free hip. He double fists the twins like he used to double fist bottles of Don Julio.
"Honey, you gotta go," you urge, you notice the tech waiting with Ed's other guitar by the wings.
"Okay, okay, sorry -- one more kiss, okay?" he nods to the twins, pressing a kiss to each cheek before placing them back down on the fold out chairs next to you.
"And one more for mommy," he swoons, slinging the new guitar over his shoulder. You roll your eyes and let him smooch you all sloppy, he grins like you just met when he's done. Ed tosses you a wink before rushing out to the stage where he starts to talk into the mic about what's coming up. The tech rushes by you again with Santa hats in his hands -- running onto the stage to pass them out to Eddie, Jeff, Gareth, and the rest of the band.
"Now normally we don't do this shit, we like to keep it a lil' scary here -- but it is Christmas time so, I wanted to play a little somethin' special. Y'all know Otis Redding?" Eddie asks. You beam, you know exactly what he's about to get the band to play. The crowd screams, barricades straining against them while they bounce and jump.
"I wanted to introduce some fellas on brass who are comin' to join us for this number," Eddie puts his hand back to reference a small brass band stepping onto the platform next to Gareth's drum set, "Give 'em a 'round of applause for me."
The applause is rauccus and the brass players wave sheepishly from their platform. You guess it's not often that they're playing with a band that used to be in the news for 'promoting Satan's music'. Especially not with someone with a reputation as sordid as Eddie's.
As the horns begin to play, Eddie puts on his Santa hat and gets close to the mic, "This song's called 'Merry Christmas, Baby', I'm sure most of ya know it. But it was my mama's favorite -- she used to wear that record out so much that my daddy had to buy it for her twice. So this is for my mama, and all the mama's that are out there tonight."
He winks towards the camera that fed out to the screens for the back seats, sending the women in the crowd to their knees. Their screeches nearly drowned out the opening chords.
Eddie's voice has a gruffness that meets the songs needs, Jeff's joining his in a playful duet. As the intro finishes, they both trade their shrill riffs for a funky bass lines and twangs to match the energy from the brass.
"Well I'm feelin' mighty fine y'all, got my music on the raay-di-oooo..." Eddie sings with a smile, his eyes closed against the bright lights. There's a lightness about him that his fans rarely see, something soft, something you get to see at home. Like when the babies would fall asleep on his chest.
"Feel like I wanna kiss ya, babe, standin' underneath that mistletoe..." he drawls, and you can see his head turn to try and peer at you behind the curtain. A silent dedication. He'd kiss you all the time if he could.
The crowd claps in time with the beat. You can see the gleams of painted nails and rings, silver bracelets, and leather arm cuffs glinting in the light of the first three rows. There was an air of genuine surprise that the crowd was singing the lyrics with them, but the holidays infect everyone. Even 'god damn delinquents', as put so delicately by the venues owner.
"Sure did treat me nice, said you bought me all those presents, and I feel like I'm in paradise..."
And overwhelming wave of nostalgia hits you as they reach the music breakdown, remembering what it was like before the kids were born. How things felt before you got married. You'd wait in his dressing room, watching the feedback on the TV in the corner, eating the snacks and drinking the champagne he'd get for you on his rider. He'd come back at the end of the show, dripping in sweat, vibrating from all the coke, chugging a bottle of Jack Daniels.
The grizziliness of him was so fucking hot at the time he didn't even have to ask you to bend over the couch. He'd rail into you so hard you could barely breathe, hand entwined in your hair, dampening your shirt when he pressed you against his slick chest.
"Been thinkin' about you all night. This tight fucking pussy," he'd grunt, whiskey might as well have been seeping out of his pores. But he was so different now. So straightened up. So present.
He was clean long before the twins were born, but something changed in him when they came. He was so alive again. Just so fucking happy to be there.
"Please give another round of applause for our brass band over here!" Eddie's announcement sends you right back to reality. The crowds cheers scream through the venue again and you instinctively cover your ears. You watch the brass band wave and bow, stepping down off the platform off the stage while the rest of the band hypes them up.
"That was fun, wasn't it folks?" Eddie asks, "So I guess we'll get back to--"
You're confused at the sudden shrill of shrieks from the crowd.
"Oh, you guys know Van? He's our new guitarist -- this is actually Jeff's last show," you hear Eddie's laugh boom over the speakers. You look down to the horror of only seeing one child next to you, who is now off her chair and inching towards the stage.
"You wanna play a chord, buddy?" you hear Jeff's voice say, the crowd cheers again. You look up at one of the screens, Van perched in his uncle Jeff's arms while he leans down to strum the strings. The crowd whoops and giggles while Jeff puts his hand over Van's tiny one and helps him play a real chord. Eddie claps, eyes shining with pride, the crowd goes absolutely insane- Van! Van! Van! Van! Your son hides, embarrassed at the attention -- always one to be shy, burying himself in the crook of Jeff's neck.
"Violet baby, come here," you coo over to her, taking a step. But that step makes her book it -- and god are they fast at 3, "Shit, fuck."
"Oh-ho-ho, wow, my little lady of the hour," Eddie laughs while she runs right into his legs, knocking herself to the ground softly, "You've all met Violet, right?"
You watch him pick her up, her soft and excited, "Daddy -- Santa!" echos through the stadium.
"Hi, baby! That's right, daddy looks like Santa!" he parentese's excitedly, placing her on his hip. He looks over his shoulder to see you crouched down, tip toe-ing quickly across the stage mouthing a guilt 'sorry' his way. He grins expectantly, his perfect show girl in her stretch pants and sweatshirt. Her clean white sneakers. "There she is -- I'm sure you folks know the wife."
You wince at first and then wave while the crowd thunders at the sight of you hurrying over to Jeff to scoop up Van. Your eyes squint against the lights, the only thing you can see in the crowd are the little flames from lighters being waved by fans. The venue shakes at their applause and you're almost embarrassed by the attention -- but not too much. What's this but another red carpet? The only difference is that you never go on stage -- the last time being just after you got married so Eddie could gush about his 'for real this time' wife.
"Mama," Van whined, hands outstretched and grabby over Jeff's shoulder while he climbs into your chest. You hoist him up to make room for Violet who at first, doesn't want to go, making Ed so close to cancelling the rest of the show to cuddle her before you're finally able to wrench her out of his arms. Their heads bobble with their headphones on, snuggling up against you.
You turn to leave, but he taps you on the shoulder, still speaking into the mic, "You forgetting something?"
You look at him confused, you have both babies with you, "What?"
"You gotta pay the toll, baby," he shrugs, his smug grin making you blush. The crowd roars, they love when he's a little bit of a bastard. He looks you over, tongue running over the inside of his cheek, "Can't let you go without paying the toll."
You let out an audible sigh, facial expression playing to the cheap seats so everyone knows just how fake exasperated you are with him. You lean in and his kiss is lewd and wet over the twin's heads, the clicks of spit sounding over the speakers. He scrunches his nose at you when he breaks away, a boyish blush blooms on his cheeks.
"Thank you," he smiles, "You're free to go."
"Okay babies, you gotta wave bye to daddy's friends!" you say softly to Van and Vi as they look at the crowd.
"Say bye-bye," Eddie says gently, mimicking a wave so they'll copy. They wave over your shoulder while you walk back stage, sitting down on the fold up chairs with them both on your lap.
"Alright folks, sorry for the cutest interruption you'll ever see in your life," he says to the crowd, "And I know outside of friends and family, Christmas is about y'know -- the Lord. So in honor of the birth of Christ I'd like to introduce this next song..."
Two incredibly face melting riffs play simultaneously.
"We call it, 'Your Mother Sucks Cocks in Hell'."
You roll your eyes as the music starts, but on the bright side the twins are finally starting to nod off to sleep.

(🔴) ... [ NOW PLAYING ] [SKZ LOG] Stray Kids : 어쩌다 촬영한 하루|2023 STAYweeK !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"damn it." she whispered to herself , "kaia." chan sighed , knowing the camera definitely picked it up. "i left my head phones in the dorms." she stressed. "im forced to sit in the middle and i forget my head phones."
"you're the shortest , the shortest sit in the middle." she scoffed. "oppa , does that really matter , we're all short." hyunjin reached behind handing her the mic.
she set the mic up , putting it in her back pocket , as they drove off. "you can always drive." you shook her head. "not in this traffic , we'd never make it."
she rested her head on chan's shoulder , when changbin spoke up. "what should we eat?"
"for me , the fundamental." hyunjin said from the front seat. "bulgogi burger."
"chicken nuggets and fries." she said. "as expected our 3 year old kaia." she smiled as they pulled into the gas station , seungmin getting out to fill up the tank.
"should i get out and get a snack?" she debated with herself. "i think i have some in my bag , i should be fine." she decided. "there's probably some at the house." seungmin climbed back into the car. "i know, but you can't go wrong with more."
they pulled into the McDonald's drive through. "i want a mcflurry with my nuggets and fries." she said. "thank you."
she held the food bag in her hands , taking her nuggets out sitting the bag in between her legs , shoving fries into her mouth.
"you don't dip your fries in your ice cream?" chan asked her , she looked at him in disgust. "why would i do such a thing?" he laughed. "because it's good." she shook her in. "oh absolutely not."
once she was finished her fries , she ate seungmin's fries. "yah , you should've gotten two." he scolded , handing her the basket. "just eat them." she smiled like a child , he flicked her forehead.
she finished her food , leaning back fatigue clouding her senses. "kaia , ah cute." hyunjin watched her fall in and out sleep.
"don't fall asleep like that , you'll hurt your neck." changbin said , she leaned her head on seungmin's shoulder and she was somehow able to go to sleep amidst hyunjin and chan's mini concert.
their car was the first to arrive. "kaia." seungmin poked the girls cheek. "get up." he squished her cheek — she slowly opened her eyes. "you better not have drooled on my shirt." she scoffed tiredly. "i don't drool."
once they arrived to the villa she went into the room she'd be sleeping in , only to return to the livingroom where they were rolling dice to see who'd cook dinner.
"kaia come." changbin grabbed her arm , her eyes widen as she tried to figure out what was going on. "why why why." she was confused because they were laughing. "how'd i get caught in this , where are we going?" she followed him.
"we're gonna get the card , for karaoke. " he held her hand as they walked to the car. "ah okay."
they quickly retrieved the card , returning back to the house. "you dragged me out the house simply so you could get the card." she pouted sitting down. "it was dark." she scoffed. "she's just as scared of the dark as you are." she scoffed.
she helped cook dinner , while everyone sang in the livingroom , watching them all scream the lyrics to songs.
"should we start with gods menu?" hyunjin went through their old music videos. "let's watch our old ones." her eyes widen. "let's not do that." she said , not wanting to see her old self.
"kaia look." they all pointed the screen. "ah cute!" she hid her red face. "my hair is so much longer." she said. "your pink hair was nice , your baby face." she laughed. "stays say they miss my pink hair."
"gods menu is where we became stray kids." she nodded. "it was like a shift , a big one." she added.
"watching levanter is always hard for me." she said. "right , you weren't able to preform on stage." she nodded. "that's when you injured your back." han said.
"during practice of all things , i just wanted to do well , then i ended up over doing it , it was horrible." she remembered back.
"during our fanmeeting , we said our individual words , right?" changbin asked.
"i cried , i don't even know why." she laughed. "because you always cry." she nodded. "im and emotional person." she said. "i think it's because when we were rookies , it wasn't easy receiving love from stays , so now im always overwhelmed when i do." felix pinched her cheek. "ah cute!" she swatted his hand away.
after a really heartfelt conversation , they all cleaned up for the night , hanging out for the rest of the night.
"why'd you guys have to get so emotional." she pouted , sitting on the couch. "don't cry." felix patted her head. "im not."
she sat back , listening to them sing neverending story.

IN WHICH ?! — Years after filming a viral documentary in 8th grade, two former enemies get pulled back in front of cameras but for an idol reality show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had been given three days to learn the choreography, they were told this was gonna be the viewer's vote. They’re going to record and post it on the Mnet youtube channel and whoever got the most likes plus views would take the point.
You would think Mnet would get a huge stage for them to perform on but they just set up a small one in the backyard. It was cute though, nothing too serious.
Y/n’s just glad they didn’t have to wear a headset mic, she found them uncomfortable, most idols did.
Enhypen and Kep1er were covering Moonshine by Zira, Txt and Zira were covering Future Perfect (pass the mic) by Enhypen, and Stayc and P1harmony were covering Up! by Kep1er.
Mnet thought having them pair up was a better option, the stages would look too small and a little odd.
Everyone cheered as they watched Enhypen and Kep1er perform Moonshine.
It was nothing serious; nonetheless, Y/n was nervous to perform pass the mic. Seeing Jungwon perform Moonshine made her a little less nervous, she was smiling like a kid on christmas.
“Zira, Txt fighting!” Everyone hyped them up. “Fighting, Y/n!” Jungwon said as he walked past the girl to take a seat on the grass where everyone else was.
“Let’s get it! Ash, Y/n.” Beomgyu looked at the girls. “Shine like you did in Moonshine.” He tried to make a joke, Ash and Y/n cringing in response.
They were doing good, they were smiling and laughing while performing, they were having fun despite covering such a difficult song. That was until it got the last chorus and Y/n accidentally punched herself during the “I’ll pass the mic” part…
She could hear people gasping but her laughs overshadowed it.
“Is she laughing?” Yoon chuckled. She was amazed at how Y/n kept performing.
Y/n’s palm covered her nose while she continued, “Beomgyu, look my nose is actually bleeding.” Y/n held out her hand and said as soon as the song ended. “Yah, you’re crazy.” Beomgyu said as he gently pushed the girl's shoulder.
“I’m fine Jungwon, it’s just a nosebleed.” Y/n said as she currently had her head tilting down with a tissue. “Still.” Jungwon scoffed. “You should've just stopped performing and take care of it.”
“I wanted to be funny.” Y/n smiled. “Yah! So putting your health last is funny!”
“It’s nothing serious, I appreciate that you care. But— please,” Y/n shook Jungwons shoulders. “Believe me when I say I’m okay.” Y/n kissed her middle and index finger and pressed it onto his cheek, she walked away leaving the boy blushing red.

Time for another request. Namjoon was spared from my last food poisoning story but he isn't safe this time and it hits him hard.
Warning: vom!t that's all. Let's get into the story. Feel free to make any suggestions
"Can we stop to get something to eat before the interview? I'm starving hyung.." Taehyung looks at Namjoon with big puppy dog eyes. "I haven't gotten to eat today.."
Namjoon checks the time. "We only got an hour before the interview, are you sure you can't wait?"
"I can wait.." Taehyung says with a pout.
"We can stop somewhere on the way, can't we, Namjoonie-hyung? He won't be able to focus if he's hungry and my stomach is growling, too." Jimin suggests gently.
"Alright, we can stop somewhere, but we have to make it quick. There's a burger place nearby. I'll ask staff if they could get us some." Namjoon gives in to his younger brothers.
"You hardly ate, are you feeling okay?" Jin asks taking the last bite of his burger.
"I'm fine, I'm just not really hungry." Namjoon states. "I ate a lot last night, I'll be fine."
"We're leaving in five minutes." A staff member says knocking on the door.
"Okay!" Namjoon calls to them. "Lunch time is over, it's time to clean up." He orders the others, helping them clean up.
Taehyung shoves a few more fries in his mouth while Namjoon tries to put it away. "You're going to gain weight if you keep eating like that."
"Hobi-hyung, he's picking on me..." Taehyung playfully whines with a fake cry going to the closest big brother, making J-hope giggle, hugging Taehyung close.
"He's been working hard, he'll be okay." J-hope kisses Taehyung on the top of the head lovingly. "Let's get going."
"Namjoon..she asked you a question.." Yoongi gently nudges Namjoon with his elbow whispering.
Namjoon couldn't focus on the interview, his stomach screaming in pain. (Maybe i should've eaten with the others...) He tried to discreetly rub his stomach to try to ease the pain.
"Namjoon-ah.." Yoongi speaks a little louder, Namjoon looks at Yoongi who gestures at the interviewer holding the mic to him.
Namjoon quickly looks at the woman standing in front of him, bowing deeply. "{I'm sorry, but could you repeat the question..}"
"{I asked how many countries you are visiting for on your tour. I know there are three different cities you are visiting in the US.}" The woman repeats.
"{We are going to five other countries after we leave the US..}" Namjoon answers.
"{We are going to Brazil next, then Germany.}" Yoongi draws the attention away from Namjoon.
He feels someone grab his hand, looking down to see Taehyungs slender fingers wrap around.
"Hyung you're shaking.." Taehyung whispers. "Are you okay?"
"I'll be okay. Focus on the reporter...we don't want to be rude.." Namjoon gives his hand a squeeze leaning a bit against him.
J-hope glares at their translator, motioning for them to translate. Jin moves in front of him, blocking him from the reporters view to stop her from asking him anymore questions.
The interview went smoothly thanks to the members handling the situation. Namjoon cheered loudly when the members cheered, even though he wasn't concentrating on the conversation. (I have to keep smiling.. I don't want to worry, army..)
J-hope tucks his arm in the crook of Namjoons elbow, the group moving quickly to get him away from all the camera flashes.
Namjoon finally lets his smile drop when they enter the waiting room. His voice comes out small only being heard by J-hope."I think I'm going to throw up.." As soon as he spoke, a wet burp escaped him. Namjoon covers his mouth, trying to hold in the bile thar rose up his throat. Jin helps him into a chair, "Jungukk get the wastebin."
Jungkook quickly looks for a waste bin, bringing it to Namjoon. "Here, hyung."
Namjoon holds it close to his chest, his dinner from last night coming back up again. It comes out in violent heaves, leaving him feeling weak and dizzy. Anytime he tried to gasp to get air, his stomach stopped him, adding more mostly digested food into the bin. The acid tang burned his throat, making him cough.
"Poor Joon.. he's really sick.." Jin keeps his hands firmly on Namjoon's shoulders to keep him from falling forward, feeling him trembling. "He can't perform tonight.."
"We will have to have someone cover his parts or-"
"No..no I can do it.. it's just two songs.." Namjoon interrupts J-hope, shakily sitting up, trying to catch his breath.
"Namjoonie, are you sure? You shouldn't push yourself." J-hope looks at him with worried eyes.
"Yes, I'm feeling better now.. I can do it.." Namjoon places the trash bin on the floor.
Jimin hands Namjoon a tissue box. "I don't think you should perform. You don't look like you're feeling better.."
"I can do it.." Namjoon tried so sound more confident than he felt, trying his best to wipe the sweat and vomit from his face. (My right side hurts every time I breathe.. I need to get my breathing under control..)
"I'll trust you.. but try to take it easy when you perform. You should sit and perform instead of dancing."J-hope says, rubbing his back.
"I'm okay. Really." Namjoon insisted. "It's probably just because I didn't eat today.. I'll eat right after the performance.." (I don't want to disappoint army..)
J-hope hugs him from behind. "You're so stubborn. If you really think you can do it I won't stop you, but I'll At least get them to put a chair on stage just in case, but if you throw up again before we go on I'm pulling you from the performance. I'm serious."
The boys quickly got their makeup touched up before going into the audience to watch the others perform. Namjoon puts on a face mask to try to hide his face, and Taehyung takes a hat from his bag putting it on him.
"They'll have to style my hair again.."
"I'll apologize to them. I just don't want the camera to focus on you.." Taehyung takes Namjoon by the hand putting him in the middle of him and Jin.
They didn't get to sit for long before the group was called on stage to accept an award announcing them as the winner. Yoongi puts a hand on his shoulder as they walk. They give the award to Namjoon and try to pass him the mic, but J-hope reaches for it instead.
"AAMMMIII..." He yells into the mic, drawing the attention to himself. Jin and Jungkook stand to block Namjoon from view, and Yoongi speaks next, trying to mimic the speech Namjoon was reciting to himself in the car.
Namjoon leans his chin on Jin, a wave of vertigo blurring his vision. Jungkook takes Namjoon's hand, leading him off the stage. Namjoon nearly tripped going down the steps, Jin steadying him."It's okay if you can't perform. You don't have to do this. You can hardly handle the steps.."
"I just tripped. I'm okay." Namjoon tells him. (If I keep repeating myself, maybe it'll come true..)
They win three more awards before the performance, the members playing keep away with their leader any time they tried to make him speak. Their performance was next and they went into the green room to get their in ears and mics.
(We're doing the beginning of save me..then switching to I'm fine...) Namjoon let out a dry chuckle at the irony of the situation.
"What's so funny?" Jungkook asks.
"The songs we choose.." Namjoon answers.
"Are you sure you don't want to sit this one out?" J-hope asks again, his voice thick with worry not finding the situation humorous. "It's okay to rest if you have to. Army doesn't want us pushing too hard. If we explain.."
Namjoon shakes his head. "I can do it." (At least.. I hope I can..) His stomach felt a little better, but the medicine the staff gave him was not doing much to help with the nauseous feeling that washed over him as soon as he went under the hot stage lights.
His body moved on instinct, running to his position and getting in sync with the other members. The sound of Army chanting their names gave him strength, but he the jumping made the pain in his stomach return with a vengeance. When he layed down for Jimin's verse he was afraid he wouldn't be able to get back up again, but he forced himself back up, fear washing over him when he remembered he was going to be center for his rap verse.
The members couldn't stop looking in his direction, and when his rap part came he came a second too late, having to do it off beat.
He stopped to try to get back on track, and when he did he heard thousands of voices singing his part with him. Army had joined in with him. Their voices gave him the adrenalin he needed, coming back strong to finish his part.
(I can do this.. we're halfway through.. I just need to hold out a little longer..)He couldn't jump as high as the other members, getting off sync because his feet hit the ground too early. (Sh*t..i can't do this...)Namjoon couldn't help but wrap a hand around his sour stomach when another painful cramp hit, the stress getting to him. (It's J-hope's verse now...) He was glad to stop moving a moment, but when it was his turn to jerk back up he stumbled into J-hope.
J-hope steadied him, helping him back into position, continuing the choreography. Namjoon tries to do the same, but he couldn't focus. His body remembered the steps for him.
"Let me lift V instead." He hears Yoongi whisper, gently nudging him to go into his position.
It took a moment to process what he was saying before it clicked. (Yoongi already had to lift Taehyung once..) it was too late to make any more changes, Yoongi already in position to lift Taehyung.
The two rappers struggled to switch back to the original positions, almost colliding into each other.(Now Yoongi made a mistake because of me. I can't mess up anymore..) Namjoon pushed through the last thirty seconds of the song, feeling his body swaying at the end. He tried to close his eyes to wait for the dizziness to pass, but his knees buckled. Jin quickly grabbed him by the shoulders. J-hope and Jin help him off the stage, moving quickly to get him away from the crowd, going into the green room. "I'm sorry..I did so bad..." Namjoon felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. "I'm gonna throw up..."
Taehyung quickly grabs the waste bin, putting it in front of Namjoon. "You did great for being so sick."
"You did the best you could. I can't believe you actually made it through the whole performance.." J-hope rubs his back as he gets sick. Namjoon had nothing left his his stomach, only acid coming up, making him gag more at the awful taste.
"Don't worry about it. All you can do is give it everything you got. You did that and more." Jin tries to comfort Namjoon, rubbing his tensed shoulders.
"I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have performed.. I should've listened." Namjoon sobbed, burying his face in his hands, then quickly looking up again. "Yoongi-yah.. are you okay?"
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine. Just focus on yourself." Yoongi tried to sound strong, but pain laced his voice, rubbing his shoulder.
"That was quick thinking Yoongi-hyung. I feel stupid for not realizing that would be an issue. I should've done it instead." J-hope praises Yoongi, causing him to blush lightly.
"I was the closest one that could do it so I just followed my instinct. I didn't want him or Taehyung getting hurt." Yoongi dismisses the praise.
"Thanks, Yoongi-hyung.." Namjoon says softly.
Jungkook wipes Namjoon's tears, handing him a water bottle. "Please don't cry hyung. You're going to make me cry.."
Namjoon looks up at the mankae, his eyes already shining with unshed tears. "I'm sorry. I'm fine now.."
"Let's get you home." Jin helps Namjoon get the mic pack and inears off. "I'll make you some jook. You need to eat something."
"I don't think I can eat.." Namjoon responds honestly, taking a small sip of water to try to get rid of the taste in his mouth.
"You have to try at least a little for me. Please at least try.. Okay?" Jin begs
"hyung..." Namjoon's stomach churns at just the thought of food, causing him to gag more bile coming up, cursing under his breath. His eyes water as his stomach tightens, painfully vomiting.
Jin looks around at the others, everyone getting ready to help Namjoon get home, forming a circle like the body guards.
Fans flash photos of the boys while they get to the car, screaming for the boys to try to get their attention. Namjoon struggles just to keep walking forward, the adrenalin that kept him going gone. The six boys form a bubble around him, blocking him from view, them waving wildly and flashing hearts. The body guards are extra protective as well, making sure no one steps a single foot over the ropes.
Jin keeps one hand discreetly around Namjoon's waist to be sure he doesn't fall, and yoongi keeps hold of Namjoon's clammy hand, holding it tight.
"Love you army!" J-hope and Taehyung yell cheerfully over the crowd, bowing and making hearts as Jin and Yoongi help Namjoon into the car, moving him by the window.
"Thank you, army. Love you!" Jungkook joins in making a heart over his head.
The seven boys make it in the car safely, Taehyung and Jungkook waving out the window before rolling it up again.
"It's finally over." Namjoon sighs in relief, leaning his head on Jin.
"You're really warm, Joon.." Jin sucks in air through his teeth, running a hand across Namjoon's forehead into his hair. "You're still sweating, too."
"I'll take a bath when we get back. I don't think I could stand long enough for a shower.." Namjoon closes his eyes tightly, the movement of the car being too much for his stomach to handle. "Please.. stop the car.."
When the driver tries to switch lanes to pull over, the bile already rose up his throat, all color leaving his face.
"It can't wait. Roll down the window!" J-hope orders, Jin rolling down the window and helping Namjoon move to stick his head out. Namjoon gets sick all over the car door, body trembling violently.
"We need to get him to a hospital.. he's going to need an IV at this rate.." Jin says sounding panicked, rubbing Namjoon's back. "Please, take us to a hospital.." He asks the driver.
When they arrive at the hospital Namjoon couldn't walk, needing to sit in a wheelchair as he waits, a nurse gives him a pink bin in case he had to get sick again, and to Namjoon's horror, his stomach tightened, causing him to heave, more sick coming out.
"{Please. No flim. No photo. No post.}" Jin pleads with the people around them in English, taking off his jacket to cover up Namjoon from view.
Security had to usher people away but that didn't stop them from trying to get as much footage as they could before being pushed away.
The hospital is quick to get them in a private room. Jin helps Namjoon onto the bed then helping him undress to put on the gown. The nurse knocks on the door, Jin peeking through the crack before letting her in.
"{Hello I'm Miss. Maple, I'm going to be your nurse today, do you understand?}" She speaks slowly.
"{I'm fluent in English..}" Namjoon explains to her, voice shaking.
Jin held Namjoon's hand as he spoke with the nurse, rubbing his thumb across his knuckles. "It's okay if you need to cry." He whispers. "She'll understand."
Namjoon shakes his head, elbowing Jin softly, not letting his emotions out until she leaves the room to get an IV bag.
"It's going to be everywhere.." Namjoon whimpers, hot tears rolling down his cheeks.
"No it won't. I'll make sure of it even if I have to report every video myself." Jin tells him. "The company will handle it. The other members are already on it too. We will get this taken care of. You just focus on getting better." Jin wipes the tears from Namjoon's face, pulling a small pack of tissues from his bag. "You got snot all over your face." Jin tuts, cleaning up his nose. "It's not that big of a deal. Everyone gets sick."
"I'm sorry Hyung.." Namjoon sniffles, trying to stop.
"Don't be. It's not your fault. Just try to rest some while we wait for the nurse. You look exhausted." Jin gives him a soft kiss on the forehead.
Namjoon went back to the hotel after two IV bags, the doctor confirming it's just food poisoning. Namjoon felt safer at the hotel where the other members were not wanting to spend a night alone in the hospital.
To his surprise when Jin lead him back to his room to rest for the night, the other five members were in his room.
"Namjoonie-hyung!" Jungkook was the first to go greet him, hugging him lightly. "Are you feeling any better?"
"A little..what are you doing in here..?" Namjoon asks
"I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep until I saw you in person, and the others felt the same." Taehyung answers, taking his turn to hug onto Namjoon.
"I want to show you something!" J-hope says, pulling up something on his laptop. When Namjoon went over to see what he was talking about he saw it was Twitter. He was trending all over Twitter, but he didn't see a single clip of him getting sick. Twitter was flooded with get well messages and praise.
"All the platforms are like this. The company put out a warning about filming our private moments, but it looks like Army has your back, too. If the clips are out there, they are getting reported so fast I haven't seen them." J-hope gets up, hugging Namjoon. "You have no reason to worry. Everyone understands."
Relief washes over Namjoon, sighing in relief.
"Now that you're feeling better mentally, let's work on physically. You need to rest, but first, could you at least eat this banana or some applesauce? Just something small so you have something in your stomach..?" Jimin asks with worry plastered on his face. "I read it's good for when you've been throwing up."
"Alright.. I'll try, but after you guys need to get to bed. You look dead on your feet." Namjoon peels the banana open, taking a bite to appease the young vocalist.
Namjoon lays in bed, regretting his decision to please Jimin, but he wasn't worried about being sick anymore.
(They all handled the situation so well.. I'm so proud to be a part of this team, and army.. They were quick to defend me..)
Namjoon rushes to go throw up again, just barely having the strength to sit up. As he throws up the mush that was once a banana, another wave of dizziness makes it hard to stay sitting up.
When starts falling, he feels an arm stop him. "I got you.." J-hope coos. "It's okay.."
"I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to wake you.."Namjoon apologizes.
J-hope tuts his tongue at him. "Stop being sorry. I'd much rather you wake me up than you suffer alone.. I love you Namjoon. I don't mind losing sleep to take care of you. If any of us were worried about you waking us up we would've just went to our hotel rooms. Let's get you back to bed, okay. Hyung could you help?"
Namjoon looks up to see who he's talking to, Jin leaning down to help him up. He leads him back to his bed that the three youngest members took over, Taehyung holding out his arms to Namjoon.
Namjoon wasn't usually the cuddly type, but with how awful he was feeling he felt needy for human contact, feeling comforted by the warmth of his old roommate's body and his steady heart beat as he lays on his chest.
"Don't get used to this Tae.." Namjoon says with a yawn.
"I won't.. I love you Namjoonie-hyung..I hope you get better soon..." Taehyung rubs Namjoon's stomach, whispering softly.
Namjoon falls asleep quickly after murmuring a soft, 'I love you..' Back to him, finally falling into the deep sleep he desperately needed.

misc six observations:
the pantages is the most gorgeous theater i’ve ever been in (not that i’ve been in many but u know)
it’s also along the walk of fame and kirsten chenoweth’s star is right by the door (lena horne's is just across the street)
they didn’t advertise my show as accessible but it was open-captioned and asl-interpreted (but it looks like both things were only viewable to ppl seated on the left side)
an old couple next to me were trying to figure out which “chopin composition” the pre-show music was? (they’re all piano covers of pop songs) v confused
the “queen bios” in the playbill list aragon’s interests as “religion, sewing, dancing, and a bit more religion”, boleyn’s says she’s remembered for “headlessness”. parr’s talks about her friendship w mary and that her mom was LIW to some previous wives, but makes no mention of the fact that aragon was her godmother(/namesake) or that she married seymour’s brother
the minute greensleeves started playing, people started cheering. it was so fun
khaila was born to play aragon that's all im saying. literally nonstop applause until the dluh intro
storm's boleyn tiptoed that line between "idk what's going on" and "smart and cunning" so so well
cleves did the ponytail-pull instead of seymour? idk if this is a recent change but it has Interesting implications characterization-wise lmao also it was just funny because olivia had to significantly reach up to get to courtney's hair
speaking of which, both nat and cmack's new wigs look a lot fancier than their old ones somehow
im pretty sure nmp actually started crying during hos (which, even though i've heard her sing it a million times, was every bit as beautiful as i thought it would be)
hoh live is an Experience in the best way, they just looked like they were having the best time bouncing around the stage
the audience member picked for get down was so good/confident olivia cheered for her the entire time instead of doing the "this is my song" bit after shfghjkl
get down is already such a lively song but olivia's version amps it up even more like i was in stitches during the intro and the entire audience was fired up by the end
the k-howard roast didnt get as many laughs as it should've :// i felt so bad for courtney because she delivered those lines flawlessly
and then loud and immediate applause after aywd??? L audience tbh
(also interesting note – the asl interpreter didn’t sign for applause after the song like she did for all the others)
natalie's "I DIED" was every bit as amazing as all the audios. also she basically chased khaila offstage while saying that line sdkf
i think gabriela is my new favorite parr im so obsessed w her take on idnyl and her acting (even in the background) is impeccable
there were some obvious mic issues – both cmack and storm were a bit quieter than everyone else and khaila was way louder; all three of them left the stage at various points for unknown reasons (but there wasn't a show stop and i dont think most people noticed someone missing)
this cast's chemistry was i n s a n e like the little interactions and they way they reacted to each other plus the harmonies…10/10 no notes
speaking of which. there was a really sweet moment toward the end of idnyl ("why should i tell that story?") where aragon puts her hand on howard's knee comfortingly
standing ovation after six!!! idk if this is a regular occurrence but they bowed an extra time because of all the clapping lol
except then people started leaving, so courtney had to start the megasix early and you could barely hear her over the audience
but it was ok cuz people stayed on their feet throughout the megasix too and again the girls took a really long time leaving the stage after bc the cheers kept getting louder!!!
tldr i had the BEST time and if the tickets weren’t so expensive id go again and again <3

WCM - The Work
I'm completely and utterly burnt out at the end of this term and every other term I have done my blog posts throughout the term, but this term I haven't managed it at all.
I don't think my work on this film needs much explanation tbh, what you hear is what you get. So, for this post, I'm just going to list all the work I put into the film and the creative choices made.
Pre-Production
I spent the early days trying to expand the score I made for the test-shoot. However, once the script was done, I realised it was entirely incorrect for the new story which had moved away from Iris' insularity to focus more on the dynamic between the two characters. So, I brought in more drums and less synth-y instruments for a more natural, less spacy feeling. The score is mainly made up of the violin, which represents Iris' melancholy, leisurely existence; the rising brass arpeggios for Iris' growing curiosity; the guitar, which represents Kallie and her gentle drive; and finally the drums which push the rhythm forward and gives us the excitement that they both feel. The final track, called rising waves, was finished before we began filming. The idea was to create a full score for the ending of the film and then use smaller parts of it throughout the rest of the film to chart the emotional journey. We start with the violin and gently move through the different instruments before bringing them all together at the end.
Another part of conveying Iris' interior mind, was the underwater sounds that I had recorded last term and made a small sound library of. Iris has an attraction to the water, but keeps herself separated from it by her surfboard, only letting her hand trail through the water. This limited contact is then accentuated through sound and because a light splashing isn't very impactful, hydrophone sounds better reflected this movement and desire.
I attended the location recces, but found it hard to offer anything other than "these are the issues, which we can't get really get past". We were filming by a river, a road and the sea and that's what the script required. The river was at least a reasonably consistent tone, just a consistent tone with a wide range of frequencies therein. I decided to just roll with it and do my best with mic placement and dialogue editing, as there was nothing else to be done really. In hindsight, I should've advocated more for my department, as I was very much of the opinion that whatever was best for the rest of the departments would be best for the film and I would be able to work round it.
The shoot ran reasonably smoothly, in terms of sound-recording. I had Hazel George (the absolute boy) from 3rd year come up for a couple days to help me out as location mixer, but the rest I was running solo on. Due to all the water, I often couldn't have a lav mic on the actors, so was relying heavily on boom. I managed to get all the wildtracks on my list (plus some fun extras) which I had gone over with Bethany in pre-production. I also booked out a stereo recorder from the Film Cult to help capture some ambiences. This ended up being a god-send as one of the two boom mics I had booked out was bizarrely unsensitive and had a high noise floor. At the end of the shoot, I put all my recordings together in a lovely little sound library on my hard drive and I was ready for the sound design.
The sound design mainly consisted of a brutal, harrowing, humbling dialogue edit. Broughty ferry is so full of dogs, man. Every recording had some distant dog bark, making me have to cut the dialogue a lot closer than I would like. I initially went in quite hard with de-noisers and equalisers but after a notes session with Zoe, I ripped it all out and started again with a far more gentle approach, also using more environment sounds to mask the often dodgy dialogue recordings. Then in terms of the design, there was some fun stuff in the transitions between scenes and mixing in the score. However, I found it tough trying to chart the emotional journey of the film, as I think a lot of the initial ideas about the central character and the story as a whole didn't entirely materialise in the final cut so all the choices I planned on making felt disjointed from the new film that we were now making. I managed to communicate some of Iris' discomfort at the bus stop with a hard cut in the ambience sound and a harsh recording of some nail biting. hen again on the bridge, where I automated an EQ to change the feeling of the environment as Iris watches Kallie walk away. The main ways I was using the sound to help tell the story was through the score. I'm happy with the way the score develops through the film and it was fun to compose to picture.
My favourite part of my sound design is actually the end credits. Due to some issues with the final scene, we decided to cut it, leaving the film almost on a cliff-hanger, without a proper resolution. My idea was to continue the sound of Iris and Kallie through the credits as they run into the ocean and swim together, despite us not having the footage for it. Thankfully, I thought I would need the sound of running into the ocean as a transition between the two scenes, so I already had the correct wildtrack, I just had to layer in some dialogue between Iris and Kallie, which I took from the beginnings and ends of takes where the two actors were kidding around with each other and making each other laugh. I also added in the dialogue from the final scene that was cut to keep that beat in the film.
Overall, I'm not incredibly happy with my work on this film. I made a few mistakes when recording - the worst one being the huge change of mic position from shot to shot by the riverside, which made each line sound very different. I also should have chimed in my opinions on the edit at some point as I think there are some points where a few more/less seconds on a moment would have helped me in the sound design. I don't think it sounds terrible, but the dialogue is still rough, even after all these days and these extra days' extension. At least I know how to do a MIDI now. I think I might want to keep making music in DAWs after graduation, I had lots of fun making Rising Waves, the main score for Where Currents Meet.

Here we go again.
(The world is not ready for you.)
Oh what can I say?
You ain't even ready, I'm just reaching my peak.
Wouldn't it be good to be on your side? I don't wanna be here no more.
Now, they know the chart's legit. And I'm magic on the mic.
Now, why would I ever stop doing this?
She's got a smile that it seems to me reminds me of childhood memories where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky and if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry.
I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain.
I see the driver in the glass.
The boy who sweats when he's caught is touching a palm of a princess who’s cawing, "Where's my doll!"
Her dead costume just flipped her for the fall.
The driver pushes the gas.
I'm like, "Fuck it, gonna give a show", I don't have much to lose: Put my hands on your knees, you can braid my hair.
Now everybody is on the run.
Tell me now it's untrue, what did her daddy do?
Don't you ever come around here.
Doesn’t it feel like almost anything could happen?
Only the landscape is changed.
“Well I take whatever I want, and Baby I want you.”
I watch you look at me, and watch my fever grow and I know just who I am.
I was a child. I was fourteen and a half.
Those tragical lies. Though I now know the facts.
And it murders your heart.
“They didn't tell you that part.”
What you do to me……I know, I can’t believe!
I'm a toy, come and play with me, say the word now.
Wrap your legs around mine and ride me tonight.
Well I'm a virgin. I'm a little girl.
Come inside, it's a passion play just for you.
Well I'm your slave.
And we make love together.
That was the last time.
My voice is back home while I’m in hell.
I watch you for a while.
And l've got a lot to pine about.
I'm never gonna meet what could've been, would've been, what should've been you.
You check the charts and start to figure it out. That's how it starts.
You spent the first five years trying to get with the plan, and the next five years trying to be with your friends again.
It comes apart the way it does in bad films.
You think over and over, "Hey, I'm finally dead".
I've been dancin' with the devil. I'm disguisin' the pain, traumatized from the game.
God pray for my soul 'cause it's torture really.
Holdin' on to sixteen as long as you can—change is coming 'round real soon make us women and men.
……..not quite how you might think.
I see everything.
You know what I'm sayin'?
It's like when we come through you better have your fuckin third eye open.
You know, 'cause thats what time it is, you know what I'm sayin'?
But you know, you know us, we play it calm, humble.
The bottom line, like I said, deal with freedom, justice, equality.
Oh, look at you, you, you're looking so confused. Oh, what did you lose?
Oh, it's ok it's just your mind.
If we get through this alive I'll meet you next week, same place, same time.
How did you want me to react? Oh, did you want me to respond?
Forget that they exist.
Now I'm sure you're keeping score: the hurricane that hit my heart.
And that's how the story ends.
“I do.”
“ you know what, ghost, I do hits.”
A hit chick, now I’m number one on her hit list. Love you to death, leave no witness.
Killa, drive me half crazy, let’s go half on this Baby.
Double cokeheads who love cartoons, type chicks who eat pussy.
Only one did jail time.
Mama wants some answers.
Do you remember where it all went wrong?
And do you celebrate your Darkside and then wish you never left the house?
There’s nothing white lines can’t erase. All the while she had the keys.
“I’m her getaway driver. “
Give me the number if you can find it.
“I’ve overcome the blow.”
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul.
Whispers of the future broke in half in your skull.
You can’t run from the future.
You can’t change the past.
I think they’ve gathered here for me.
I am beside you, you are beside me.
Is it getting heavy?
She tried to explain.
She was caught in a jar.
“We’ll set the fire and get snowbound.”
If you don’t mind a touch of hell now and then, the world is a beautiful place to be born into …if you don’t mind some people dying all the time. If you don’t mind a few dead minds in the higher places, or a bomb or two now and then in your upturned faces….and investigations.
I can't help myself. It's some kind of joke. All we care about is pornographic girls on film. Give me something I wanna see. “
Television and hot blonds in odd positions.
Don't ask me how or why but I'm gonna make it happen this time. My teenage dream tonight. Yeah, I'm gonna make it happen this time.
Isn't it a shame, shame, Baby? A shame, shame.
My head on the hood of your car:
“I take it too far.”
Hey, wait a minute, now first it wasn't easy changing rock and roll and minds.
Yeah, things were getting shaky. I thought I'd have to leave it behind but now it's so much better.
When everything hits just right the note of nobility can go on forever.
Sometimes i feel like i've broken through and i'm free and i could dig into eternity.
“Inside of me i'm crazy i'm just crazy.”
I see her, my stiff muse.
The artist must maintain his swagger.
He must he must he must be intoxicated by ritual as well as result.
Aint nobody fucking with T, but that just might be my ego.

side to side
Warnings: swearing
Word count: 4.6k
Summary: In which you're performing your hit single in front of your fellow Avengers cast-mates and Chris can't seem to take his eyes off of you, catching the attention of a few cameras.
Tumblr media
"I'm here with the biggest pop-star of this generation, and she plays the very talented daughter of Tony Stark," the interviewer announced your name, smiling brightly at you as the camera panned your way. The hundreds of thousands of fans at home screaming when your face appeared. "How do you feel with all your nominations tonight?"
You smiled at the camera, giving a small wave at the people watching at home. "Honestly, I'm just glad I was even considered for these nominations. I mean, my girls Taylor, and Billie...they're amazing and I'm so happy to be put in the same category as them."
The lady grinned at you, her eyes twinkling. Or maybe it was her sparkly dress, the fabric nearly blinding you with how it shined under the lights. "If you ask me, you've got a pretty good chance at winning. I mean, your hit single—Side to Side—surpassed, like, a billion views in just a month? That's impressive."
"Well, I couldn't have done it without my fans." you replied, winking at the camera.
It was that time of the year again, where every artist, actor, and YouTuber hit the stage for the People's Choice Awards. With your crazy schedule, and the lack of sleep, you had planned to skip the award show until your friend, and co-star, Chris Evans—Captain America himself—convinced you otherwise. Even with the categories you've been nominated for had been more than a handful, but it was the begging and constant complaining from Chris that made you get off your tired ass and put it into a tight dress.
Your hit single, Side to Side, had everyone anticipated for your performance, unsure if you would be performing until the producers had put your name into the advertisement, making fans blow up Twitter. You were sure they had advertised your own song, along with your movie nominations, more than you ever had.
With nominations of Movie of the Year (Avengers: Infinity War), Action Movie of the Year (Avengers: Infinity War), Female Movie Star of the Year (Amara Stark), Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (Side to Side), Music Video of the Year (Into You), Beauty Influencer of the Year, and Social Celebrity of the Year, you had your hands full, which had only made your manager glow with happiness.
"Of course!" the interviewer agreed, glancing at the teleprompter filled with tiny words. "It was rumored that you wouldn't be coming, and a lot of us were upset, including me. Was that just a rumor or..."
"Actually, it's not that far off. I'm fucking—oh, shit—oh no!" you gasped, covering your mouth before anymore foul words could come out on live television. Instead of correcting you, the lady laughed, patting your arm softly. "Can't say that on tv. My bad. I, uh, with everything going on, I've been really tired, and I haven't slept in a week. I just wanted to chill, and accept my nominations at home but someone convinced me to come. So, if I say or do anything ridiculous tonight, I'm blaming him and my lack of sleep."
She nodded, clapping slowly. "I think that's fair. Is that someone, your onscreen father, RDJ?"
"He was one of the many people who unsuccessfully changed my mind, but no, it was Chris Evans. He promised me a day with his adorable dog, Dodger, and I couldn't refuse." you said, grinning at how his face had changed from hopeless to cocky as soon as he brought up Dodger.
"If I'm remembering this correctly, Chris Evans is that very handsome man you had kissed in your music video earlier this year. Into You, right? How do you feel kissing one of your co-stars outside of the movies your working on?"
"Technically, it was still acting, and I have kissed him before, so it wasn't awkward at all." you answered, glad Chris had accepted the role. Not only had it sky-rocketed the views and streams, but it made you feel better that it was his lips you were kissing and not a random model's. Yet, it didn't feel as professional as it had before when you pulled away after a take.
In scenes where you had to kiss the Boston actor, it was as professional as kicking Anthony Mackie's ass in Civil War but the kisses you shared on the set of the music video was definitely more personal. At the time, you had brushed it off as Chris being recently single, but now that you had broken up with Henry, you started questioning it again.
The interviewer nodded, squinting once more to read the words off the teleprompter before asking you another question that would certainly make the headlines. "I've been reading up on all those juicy tabloids and I've got one question that would satisfy my curiosity. Was Into You written about Henry Cavill or Tom Ellis?"
Usually, that type of question made you change the subject or altogether avoid the matter but this time, you wanted to joke about your failed engagement. "Henry, but Side to Side was written about Tom since I wanted more Grammy's considering the last album I put out won me a few. But this time, I'm gonna do it without an engagement."
The woman faked a laugh, surprised by the blunt honesty of your answer. "Um, you certainly do have a thing for British men, eh? I don't want to keep you up, but one more thing, for the fans. They've been dying to know if there's anything going on between you and Chris Evans. Any tea you wanna spill?"
"There's none to spill. We're just friends but it's always amusing scrolling through Twitter to find these edits of us." you replied, fidgeting slightly with the hem of your dress. Like usual, you had wondered if you should've worn something less extra but you had let your stylist play dress up with you for the past few months.
"Of course. Well, good luck to you, and I can't wait to see your performance." she said, giving you a little pat on the shoulders before announcing your name once again.
You got off the little platform, immediately taking Chris' awaiting hand, holding onto it as you climbed down the steps in your dangerous stilettos. Sighing, you leaned on him, trying to avoid the blinding camera flashes. "That was more exhausting than I thought it would be. You need to get me some caffeine after this is over because there's no way I'm making it to the after show without at least a few cans of Red Bull."
"So dramatic." Chris grinned, childishly sticking his tongue out as he guided you down the red carpet, stopping when told to take a picture. He let go of your hand, only to wrap it around your waist as you posed for the pictures. "Are you going to the after party?"
Posing seriously for a few seconds, you let your smile back on your face, facing the man beside you. "I was thinking about it, take a few photos, and head back home. Aren't you?"
"Actually, I was thinking we could ditch it and just hang out. You know, I did promise you some time with Dodger and you could waste a couple hours sleeping." he replied, his hand tightening ever so slightly on your waist. Flashing you a shit-eating smirk, he nudged you a little, pulling you away from the blinding flashes. "What do you say?"
You opened your mouth to answer only to be cut off by your manager, Alexandre coming out of nowhere to rip you away from Chris' arms. The latin man sighed in annoyance, glancing at his watch while giving you the look you've seen too many times before. "You're supposed to be in wardrobe right now. Get your ass backstage, and change before you miss your own performance. As for you, Mr. Evans, Megan wants your ass in a chair."
"I'll see you after." you say, getting dragged by your manager, winking at the actor before walking towards the changing area, the cameras following you until they couldn't enter the area.
Getting ready before a huge performance always calmed you down, maybe it was the smell of makeup or the feel of designer clothing made especially for you, but something about it made you feel comfortable and cozy. It was like a routine, especially with all the music videos and movies you had to film, the makeup, the hair.
They made you sit back, giving you your phone like a child while they made you even more sparkly than before, making sure you'd stand out against the flashing lights during the performance. A performance you made sure no one would ever forget. Smiling, you let your thoughts drift back to a certain super soldier as you were pampered.
"Welcome to the People's Choice Awards!"
The room darkened, the blue and pinks lights focusing on the stage as cameras all turned towards your shadow. Making sure your mic was set properly, tried to see past the darkness, to see a familiar face or two but with the headache coming on from the tight half-ponytail didn't help your case. The music started, the beat vibrating, you flipped your hair, and started.
"I've been there all night
I've been there all day (Nicki Minaj)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side (Let then hoes know)"
You rode the bike, belting out in your microphone, the attached headset limiting your movements a little. Gripping the handles, you made eye contact at the camera to your left, winking at it as you pedaled.
"I'm talkin' to ya
See you standing over there with your body
Feeling like I wanna rock with your body
And we don't gotta think 'bout nothin'
I'm comin' at ya
'Cause I know you got a bad reputation
Doesn't matter, 'cause you give me temptation
And we don't gotta think 'bout nothin'"
As you had sung, your eyes had adjusted to the bright spotlight focused on you, seeing a shadow of the one person you wanted to make you walk side to side. While you had answered the reporter's question, you hadn't been completely honest. Some of the lyrics had been written for the Bostonian; or to be more exact, your sex fantasies. With the chorus coming up, you let go of the handles, trying not to fall on your ass as you clapped your hands above your head, the claps matching the beat.
"These friends keep talkin' way too much
Say I should give you up
Can't hear them, no, 'cause I..."
Trying to be bold, you stared at him, his face in particular. The spotlight had blinded you so much that you couldn't see what his reaction was—or anyone's for that matter—but maybe it was a good thing. After all, his gaze always made you blush no matter how hard you tried not to. Pedaling faster, you threw your head back, hoping the motion would draw everyone's—Chris'—eyes on your chest.
"I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side
I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side"
With the help of a shirtless dancer, you got off your bike, taking the sheer jacket from him, and putting it on as you walked towards the front of the stage, moving your hips in to the beat of the song. Resting a hand on a shirtless dancer, you positioned yourself so you were grinding your ass against his crotch, throwing back an arm around his neck.
"Been tryna hide it
Baby, what's it gonna hurt if they don't know?
Makin' everybody think that we solo
Just as long as you know you got me
And boy, I got ya
'Cause tonight I'm making deal with the devil
And I know it's gonna get me in trouble
Just as long as you know you got me"
Sashaying to the little balance beam at the front of the stage, you made sure your hips swayed more than usual.
"These friends keep talkin' way too much
Say I should give you up
Can't hear them, no, 'cause I...
"I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side
I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side"
A few seconds after your note ended, you strike a pose on the balance beam, posing for a few more seconds while the cameras turned their attention away from you and onto the queen of rap herself: Nicki Minaj. The leather, pink bodysuit was identical to yours except for the color, her attitude fitting the badass outfit. She began to walk towards the stage, never breaking eye contact with the camera in front of her while the men pretending to work out to the choreo.
"Uh, yeah
This the new style with the fresh type of flow
Wrist icicle, ride dick bicycle
Come through yo, get you this type of blow
If you want a ménage, I got a tricycle
All these bitches' flows is my mini-me
Body smoking, so they call me Young Nicki Chimney
Rappers in they feelings 'cause they feelin' me
Uh, I-I give zero fucks and I got zero chill in me
Kissing me, copped the blue box that say Tiffany
Curry with the shot, just tell 'em to call me Stephanie
Gun pop, then I make my gum pop
I'm the queen of rap"
By the time she had finished her verse, you had caught up with the multitasking of both working out and singing, able to use your full singing capabilities for your high note. Nicki joined you on stage, hyping up the crowd while you built up for the high note, almost every camera pointed at you except for the one focused on capturing the headline-worthy expression slapped on Chris' face.
"These friends keep talkin' way too much
Say I should give em up
Can't hear them, no, 'cause I...
"I've been here all night (Been here all night, baby)
I've been here all day (Been here all night, baby)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side (Side to side)
I've been here all night (Been here all night, baby)
I've been here all day (Been here all day, baby) (Ooh, baby)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side (Side to side)"
Both you and Nicki motioned for the dancers to come towards you, curling your index finger at the sexy men. Singing the refrain, you both made them drop to their knees in front of you, as if they were kneeling at your command.
Just as the last note was sung, everyone clapped, the majority standing up, and more cheered. You noticed Chris hadn't done either, still sitting in his motionless while two camera men pointed their cameras at him. Your eyebrows furrowed, thankfully after the spotlight had shifted over to the miniature stage where the two hosts were babbling about nominations.
You were ushered off the stage along with the queen of rap herself, taking a few backstage photos before quickly returning back to your dressing room to change into your tailored dress. Your mind had wandered to why Chris hadn't applauded—not that he was obliged too, but a little something would've nice, especially with all the days put into the performance.
Taking a deep breath, you entered the big room, filled with your co-stars and other A-list celebrities. Little did you know you'd find out the reason to your question in the morning.
The loud ringtone woke you up, the sound obnoxious and borderline abuse to your ears. Beside you, Chris groaned, rolling onto his stomach, trying to muffle the sound of the call with his arm draped over his head. Putting him out his misery, you lazily reached for your phone, pressing the green button with dread, seeing the name across the screen.
"Hello—"
"You're trending on Twitter." Alexandre announced, happy with the results of the previous awards show. While it wasn't something as big as a Grammy or Oscar, judging by the amount of awards you had taken home, you became the people's favorite. "Hold on, lemme rephrase that. You and Chris are trending. Number one, world wide."
Glancing at the man sleeping beside you, you sat up, confused by the information given to you. You blamed Chris for making you stay up so late for your confusion. "Um, why? Did I accidentally have another nip slip?"
"What the hell?" Chris mumbled, rolling onto his back, his arm grazing your bare stomach. He immediately took it back, sitting up to look over your puzzled face. "What's going on?"
You shrugged, putting your phone on speaker so Alexandre could explain. Your manager chuckled, knowing you had stayed the night with Chris. He was just waiting for the day you'd finally have the guts to speak about the growing sexual tension. "Okay, Alex, explain."
"As much as I would love to go into full detail, I have other stuff to do so, I'm going to give you the basics. Chris' reaction to your performance went viral, people are shipping the both of you, and there's been thousands of memes made." Alexandre replied, a smile evident in his voice. "Anyways, I have to go. Got some interviews to schedule. Have fun getting your way out of this, Chris."
Your phone screen went back to the home screen, a picture of your family dog, Buster, smiling widely. Looking at Chris, you saw his eyes widened, his hands coming to rest of his face in embarrassment as he fell back onto the bed with a bounce, his head nearly hitting the headboard. "Oh, fuck."
"Are you going to show me what your face looked like or do I have to scroll through Twitter until I find it? Oh! Maybe they edited it in my performance." you thought out load, tapping on the YouTube app. You hadn't trusted yourself enough to log into your official account, knowing you'd probably make a mistake so you opted for having a secondary account where you could watch cat videos without the anxiety of posting something stupid.
Chris' hand snatched your phone away, tucking it in his pocket, the sweats he had slept in was somehow wrinkled, and his shirt damp from the warmth. "You wanna get some food? I'll cook some bacon but you'll have to make the pancakes 'cause the last time—"
"I wanna see your reaction." you whined, reaching across his stomach for your phone. Chris turned his body away from you, shielding the phone from your reach. "Chris!"
He waved your attempt away, rolling off the bed, his feet hitting the floor before you could fall back on the mattress. You poured, getting on all fours, crawling towards the edge. Chris took a step back, brows furrowing. "It's not important. Let's get you some food."
"Fine." you mumbled, an idea making you light up. Rolling off the bed, you glanced at his phone on the nightstand, exposed and easy to take. With quick reflexes, you grabbed his phone, rolling back on the bed until you reached the other side, making it impossible for him to reach for his phone back.
"Hey!" the Bostonian shouted, launching himself on the bed in attempt to get his phone back. He made a noise as you rushed out of your room, locking yourself in the nearby bathroom, laughing evilly when he threw himself at the door. He yelled out your name, his fist banging on the door. "I'm serious! Don't!"
Ignoring his begging, you opened his phone with your thumbprint. How ironic how much he didn't want you to look at his phone when he was the one who insisted you have the password to it. His arguments became louder as you opened up his Twitter, immediately heading to the trending section, seeing both your names at the number one spot.
"Damn, I look hot." you joked out loud, making Chris silent for a second before pleading for you not to continue. You smirked, scrolling through the tweets, trying to find his reaction. "Jesus Christ, what the hell happened to you? Did you fall on your face or something?"
Chris groaned, banging his head on the door in defeat as he heard your almost inaudible gasp, that quickly turned into little giggles. If he wasn't so embarrassed, he would've broken the door down to hold you in his arms. "Oh, no."
Bursting out into hard laughter, you fell into the large bathtub, hitting your head on the wall but you couldn't care less. The expression on his face during your performance had been borderline comical, the wide eyes, the jaw hanging open, the open hand resting on his chin while his eyes stayed strained on you the whole time, never wavering from your body, the sexy choreography making his jeans tight.
Cackling like the Wicked Witch of the West, tears ran down your cheeks, your stomach cramping from the maniacal laughter. Lifting yourself up from the tub, you stumbled to the door, your loud laugh ringing out towards the whole house. You let Chris in the bathroom, his phone quickly taken from your hand but it was too late. The blush on his cheeks wasn't going away anytime soon. You leaned against him, your head resting on his chest, while you panted out a question. "Why did you look like you were trying to attract flies in your mouth?"
Chris groaned again, covering his eyes with a hand while the other rested on your back. "You're not going to let me live this down, are you?"
"Oh, God, no." you giggled, wiping the tears away, beginning to calm down. Glancing up at him, you noticed everything above the shoulders was gleaming red, the embarrassment too unbearable for him. "Chris, you looked exactly like the first time we were forced to share a bed together."
"Yeah, you have that affect on me."
"You gonna tell me why you looked so ... shocked? Or do I have to search through Twitter and go with whatever fan theory makes the most sense?" you asked, unable to keep the smug grin off your face. Chris closed his eyes, wishing he hadn't made you come to the awards show in the first place. You raised an eyebrow, fingers itching towards his phone. "You know I'll do it, Evans."
The man raised his hands, taking them off of you as he paced around the bathroom, deciding if this embarrassing moment was the right time to finally confess. "It's just, you know, the dance was so ... sexual and hot that I probably wasn't the only one looking at you like that. You can't exactly blame me for being shocked, watching the girl I'm in love with—"
Chris stopped as you be watched the colors drain out of your face, immediately freezing when he realized what he had said. Both of you stared at each other, eyes wide, not moving a muscle, barely blinking; the atmosphere so tense neither of you were breathing, waiting for the other to talk. But neither of you wanted to go first, terrified.
It wasn't until you started to feel dizzy that you realized you hadn't been breathing, letting out a huge breath, trying to relax while Chris did the same, his hands shaking, a nervous tick he got whenever he was anxious. You got the courage to speak first.
"What?"
It was better than nothing.
Chris was so nervous he nearly ran out of the room. There wasn't some kind of handbook or script he could read, helping him tell one of his best friends how head over heels he was for her. So, he said what his brain was stewing. "What?"
"What—what?" you replied, unsure if he even said the L word, so lightheaded by the sudden confession.
The actor stilled, eyes widening even further, while his eyebrows shot up his forehead. "What?"
"What?"
"What?"
"Say what one more time, Evans, and I will make nothing but mac and cheese for the rest of your stay." you threatened softly, getting tired of not having an answer to your one-worded question.
Chris took a deep breath, hands trembling as he clasped them together, hoping to find the right words, hoping his inner thoughts would come out clear, giving you the answer you asked for. "I'm sorry. What do you want me to say?"
"What you were saying before. You know, before you looked like you saw a ghost and almost stopped breathing. I think that would be a good start." you replied, backing up to take a seat on the plush chair. Chris mirrored your actions, putting down the lid to the toilet before sitting down.
"This isn't the way I wanted you to find out." Chris whispered, his blue eyes trained on the emotions that flashed on your face. Your uncertainty of the situation didn't help his anxiety.
"Okay, um, were you going to tell me in the first place?" you asked, playing with the hem of your shirt—it had been a borrowed Patriots shirt from him. Looking back, you realized all the little things he'd done hadn't been because his platonic love for you. "Or were you just going to keep letting it be this way?"
Fidgeting with his hands, Chris peered through his eyelashes, seeing the hurt flash across your face before you quickly composed it. "Scott was hyping me up, trying to convince me to tell you before you got into another relationship. Do you know the real reason I broke up with Jenny? It hurt like hell when you announced you were engaged. Fuck, I couldn't even pretend to be happy because you were going to have the life I wanted with you, with someone who wasn't me. It was selfish and I got really mad at myself for being a dick."
"But—"
"And then the horrible, horrible relief I felt when you called off the engagement." Chris continued, his heart clenching. "Truth to be told, that was the day I found out I was in love with you, breaking things off with Jenny. Of course, I wanted to wait until you moved on, hoping to be the friend you went to but with my schedule, that was impossible. So, you seemed out comfort in Henry fucking Cavill."
"You're in love with me?" you whispered, hoping this wasn't some kind of cruel dream. If it was, you wouldn't mind staying.
The actor nodded, waiting for you to call him names and rush out. "Yes. You can leave or slap me or whatever you want to do but I love you."
You got up, running a hand through your hair. "Okay."
Chris' heart sank, wishing for any other kind of reaction, wishing you'd do something. Taking a deep breath, he got up. "Is this a goodbye?"
Frowning, you walked up to him, taking his face between with your hands, pressing your lips softly to his. You could feel his heart beat, the little organ beating so hard. You pulled away before he could recover from his shock, before he could kiss you back.
"Hello."

I can't stop me
~~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~💙~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~~
Tumblr media
Music blasts throughout the neighbourhood on a normally quiet street. Sounds of voices singing away and the sight of colorful light beaming through the wide windows is not something everyone would expect from a house that belongs to a quiet girl.
"I CAN'T STOP ME, CAN'T STOP ME~" The voice of the overconfident rabbit rings around the house, bouncing from wall to wall.
"Nayeon~" I whine, pulling in her arm. A headache is just sitting in my head, getting worse with every new word that comes from her mouth. It keeps stirring, waiting to overflow.
"OoOOoOOOooO~" nayeon continues to sing her heart away whilst I begin to through pillows at her idiotic face.
I keep mercilessly throwing pillows at her, pillow after pillow but that barely does anything. The most I got from her there was a glance and a short pause... like a one second pause.
With a groan, I slump down onto the couch, spreading my arms out like I'm a starfish.
"OoOoOOooooOooo~"
"I CAN'T STOP ME, CAN'T STOP ME~"
An idea suddenly comes to mind, suggesting I put an end to her annoying karaoke session.
With an irritated expression, I push myself up and towards the machine. She won't notice me, mainly because she's currently singing with her eyes closed.
Her figure continues to sing, mindlessly moving to the beat like she's on stage in front of thousands of fans.
I stretch my arm out, reaching for the button. My finger lightly hovers over it before I use some force to turn it off. Pressing that button caused me to feel somewhat some relieved.
"Y/n~" nayeon whines like i was a few minutes ago. "Why'd you turn it off~" she continues to whine through the mic.
"I turned it off because of my headache" I look down, setting my eyes on one of the pillows on the ground.
"You should've said something!" Nayeon laughs.
"I tried that" I scoff looking back up at her.
"Awe~ is my bear grumpy" she pouts trying to look cute but in reality she looks like an old woman.
"You're one annoying rabbit" Nayeon gasps at my statement and takes a step back. However, she manages to trip over something. A scream leaves her mouth. It kinda sounded like she was singing a high note.
"Ow, darn pillow. Help me up!" Nayeon demands, laying on the floor with the mic a few meters away from her now.
"Awe~is my grandma hurt?" I say, mimicking her voice.
"Hey! Don't speak to me like that"
"Why not?"
Nayeons expression suddenly becomes smug "because I'm older than you"
"Okay?" My hands rush to my head due to the unreal pain. This is getting way too frustrating now.
"I'm going to bed, if you turn that on one more time I'm kicking you out of my house. I don't care if you end up back with your group or on the streets" my legs begin to take me away, away from my best friend and up to my room.
"Hey y/n" Nayeon's voice is quieter than normal. "I can't stop me"
I roll my eyes, turning around but she's not on the ground anymore and instead she's standing, standing tall and proud right infront of me, just a few inches from myself.
"Please st-"
"I can't stop me, can't stop me" her eyes are sparkling with something I'm not familiar with.
"Nayeon, stop. I'm not in the mood for thi-"
"I can't stop me, can't stop me" nayeon cuts me off... again. taking another step closer.
"I can't stop me from loving you"

Tumblr media
oikawa shut his phone off and threw a black t-shirt and some jeans on. luckily he had training at 4pm so he still had time to clear up any miscommunications with sakai and hopefully stop his girlfriend from fretting.
swiping his keycard to his room to lock it on his way out, oikawa swifty made his way to the elevator and slipped out the front entrance. thanks to his choice of lowkey clothing, the setter looked like any other citizen just wandering the streets of tokyo. nobody was paying any mind to him as they went about their own business and let him walk past. he pulled out his phone as he checked the time.
the hotel he was accommodating at with his team wasn't too far from the streets he had agreed to meet sakai at outside the training grounds. he had 5 minutes to get there and he didn't intend on looking stupid and being late so he picked up the pace and walked a little faster to his destination.
-
oikawa arrived 3 minutes later and waited for the girl to arrive. curiosity got the best of him and he ended up pulling out his phone and scrolling through some of the tweets he was mentioned in claiming ridiculous accusations and false stories.
he was so immersed by his phone he didn't noticed the bleached pale blonde approach him.
“hi oikawa! it’s great to finally meet you!”
oikawa put his phone away and nodded at the girl.
“lets go somewhere a little more private.” he said and he pointed towards a more secluded area by a wall that cut the street off slightly.
“i thought the whole reason of us meeting was to stop whatever was going on between us not encourage it ~”
oikawa cringed and turned to glance at the girl who was typing away on her phone paying no mind to his cold stare.
“that's my point, there's nothing, never has been and never will be anything between us. the whole point of us meeting was for you to apologise for all the damage you’ve caused.”
sakai feigned a shocked expression as oikawa turned to face her once they reached the more secluded area.
“damage? oh please it was harmless.”
“harmless? you don't even know what you’ve done do you?”
was this girl for real?
“sorry sorry i just did what i needed to do, since the olympics became the talk of everyone it’s been hard to grab a modelling job. sure i’m well known in the industry but right now agents are looking at pro athletes to model and advertise for them as i suppose it’s a good way to get attention.” sakai explained as she finally put her phone away.
rolling his eyes oikawa stared down at the model.
“that’s not my problem. please stop associating with me you’ve caused a lot of stress and trouble with me and some others.”
“others? oh you mean your little girlfriend? that's partially your fault though, you should've told me you had a girlfriend and maybe things would've been different.”
“i shouldn't have to tell you about my business. i said no the first time you offered your proposition that should've been enough to tell you i wasn't interested in being associated with you.”
oikawa couldn't understand why this girl was being so difficult. the whole reason he’s agreed to meet up with her was for her to apologise in person but he was yet to receive it.
“are you gonna apologise or not? actually don’t bother, it’s not sincere coming from you this is a waste of time.”
sakai sighed and looked up at the athlete.
“no i am sorry i didn't mean any harm. at the same time though, this is your fault for not speaking up about your girlfriend. are you embarrassed by her or something? surely you’ve only been dating a week or something.”
every time this girl opened her mouth, oikawa had to hold back the urge to not uppercut her himself. she was impossible.
“it’s been over a year actually and the happiest year of my life at that. and as for not speaking up about her, i did so in order to protect her from psychos like you.”
“ouch, oikawa you’re meant to be charming no? it seems i’ve been deceived.”
“yeah, just like the media have been by your shitty stirring. look, just give it a rest please, i’ve got enough on my plate in fact i shouldn't even be here now. i was looking forward to coming back, being reunited with old friends and rivals and most importantly my girlfriend. i should be spending as much time as i can with her but no. right now i’m stood here listening to you chat utter shit.”
growing impatient oikawa decided it was probably best to leave it. there was no getting through to sakai she truly was impossible.
“you and your girlfriend are being a little selfish. oikawa listen to me, since we’ve been associated, we’ve been trending more than ever. isn't that great! just hold this up a little longer and then we can stop this but please i’ve been getting all the attention i should've been getting from the start!”
had everything he’d just said gone over her head?
oikawa scoffed and glared down at her through his glasses.
“it seems i have no other option. if you want to act like a simple minded child ill treat you like one. i’ll shut everything down on twitter and just have to publically expose you for what you really are; a liar.”
not bothering to wait for a response, oikawa went to turn to leave the premises and return to his hotel to think about what he was going to say.
not even a split second later a hand grabbed his wrist and pulled him back.
oikawa looked ahead of him and saw a stampede of cameras and mics charging their way towards the pair.
not given enough time to process what was going on sakai had him pushed up against the wall he had initially been using to shield himself from the media.
she gripped his shirt and pulled her face close to his before whispering quietly to him.
“yeah? and i’ll have to expose you for what you really are to your girlfriend, a cheat.”
and with that she forced a kiss onto oikawa giving the cameras the show they’d been dying for.
oikawa’s mind went blank and he felt light headed. surely this wasn't happening. he must be going crazy under the stress.
after a few seconds sakai pulled away and winked at the shocked boy as she waved her phone.
so that's why she’d been tapping away on her phone when they met up.
after giving one last sly smile, sakai took her leave with the reporters mindlessly following shouting a million questions at her as the girl bathed in all the new found attention.
oikawa didn't even have the words to call out and object.
he wiped his face and began to process what had just happened.
it couldn't have happened. he was delusional. or so he hoped.
oikawa pulled out his phone and countless notficcations flooded his lock screen as his heart dropped.
he felt sick to his stomach and refused to even try and read them.
unlocking his phone he immediately made his way to his favourite contact list praying that the person he trusted the most would answer.
the phone didn't even need to ring longer than 2 seconds before the line was picked up.
“oikawa, don't speak just listen. i’ve seen it already okay? don't move i’m coming to get you i’ve got you okay just stay calm.”
letting out a small sob, oikawa dropped to his knees as his thoughts began to overwhelm him.
“haijime, what the fuck have i done?”
