Sure thing!

So basically when Best and Chahub's series Check Out first aired on iqiyi it was unavailable to watch in many countries. This prompted the director of the series to give an interview saying that the series was too explicit to show on any other platform such as youtube, and that they were looking into maybe broadcasting it via onlyfans.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with onlyfans and what it's used for, but you could argue that it's a very strange thing to say for a professional director who would probably be better off showing his series on other platforms more suited to traditional longform entertainment (like gagaoolala, the patron saint of queer media 🙏).

Add to that that pornography is illegal in Thailand, and any mentioning of it in an actor's portfolio is probably... not that great.

The director further said that during the filming of the intimate scenes they decided to do away with all protective clothing because it just couldn't be done otherwise (decades of spicy scenes in film beg to differ but ok). The actors were fully naked. They didn't decide this beforehand but directly on set. Many fans have later speculated that due to the stressful and time-sensitive nature of a film set, this might have been coercive and exploitative.

The scenes that were later shown in the series were actually not especially spicy. Certainly not spicy enough to call them "25+". Actually, they were so unremarkable (as far as spicy scenes go) that the series has since been re-released on youtube (albeit probably as a cut version? I'm not sure. I haven't watched it) - the very platform 9naa was so sure would ban them if they even so much as looked at the upload button.

Throughout the whole shock value promotion (because what else could it possibly have been?) the actors themselves stayed strangely quiet. They're apparently on record saying that they value their intimate scenes as art. That's it. There was no further promo. There were no follow-up jobs. Best and Chahub weren't in the special ep (according to mdl Best was but I can't remember him showing up hm). They were either quietly dropped by 9naa or bid their time until their contracts expired.

None of this is especially scummy or even illegal (at least as far as we know). It does leave a sour aftertaste however, because companies like 9naa always have the upper hand over their actors. A lot would have to happen for an (inexperienced) actor to speak up because breaking contracts and NDAs would mean losing their jobs and potentially being blacklisted and/or sued (even Yoon Phusanu only came forward after Y.Ent had already broken contract by not paying him until a set date).

So if a company makes weirdly sensational claims that they later either conveniently forget about or passive-aggressively backtrack on, then that's weird. If they show no interest in promoting their own talent and have a strangely high turnover rate for rookie actors, then that's even weirder.

And this isn't an isolated case. 9naa had a whole series planned with MFlow Entertainment. Beyond the Star was supposed to star actors from both companies, only for MFlow to later finish and broadcast the series on their own due to "differences in vision and work attitudes", editing out as many of 9naa's actors as they could. Weird, don't you think?

And, most recently, Cheque Wacharawee (from 9naa's Venus in the Sky) withdrew from any follow-up projects in a letter posted to his instagram because he had concerns due to work attitudes and couldn't even reach 9naa's lawyer (notice that he too only spoke up after 9naa had already violated his contract). 9naa reacted days later with their own very subdued announcement that has since been deleted. Very, very weird.

Who do you think is to blame here? The actors (most of whom are inexperienced and in Chahub's case haven't really acted since), MFlow (a small but reliable company that makes series that aren't always the most cohesive but at least the actors seem happy 🙏) or 9naa who's at the centre of it all?

Personally, as a fan of both Best Vittawin and Cheque Wacharawee, I've decided to no longer support or watch anything by 9naa. Kiseki Chapter 2 sounds nice and I hope its leads are doing well. Maybe the company has since learned from their previous unprofessionalism but people should at least be aware that they have something of a shady track record.

Okay I just thought of something and now I'm going insane.

In the leaks for ch. 407, the last panel we see is this:

AFO cutting off Yoichi's hand as payment for abandoning him.

Hands.

Now who does that make me think of?

I seemed to recall that Shigaraki had destroyed one of his father's hands and AFO had given him a replacement. I was right.

At first I thought 'There is no way on earth that is Yoichi's hand. It wouldn't last that long.' But then I remembered that AFO's hobby is stealing people's Quirks so what if he has a preservation Quirk. Hell, I can pretty much garuantee it since his body hasn't rotted away and is still in good working order after two hundred years.

What if Shigaraki is wearing Yoichi's hand.

I also recall that Shigaraki managed to destroy all of them except one while fighting Redestro (I think it was Redestro. He was fighting somebody). The one on his face. And he wears his father's hand on his face. But he destroyed one of his father's hands.

HOW DO WE KNOW THAT'S NOT YOICHI'S HAND.

"But he said that was his father's hand—"

What if he just thinks it is. Like. He had two hands. One of them is a replacement but it's meant to represent his father's hand so it's his father's hand. BUT WHAT IF IT'S ACTUALLY YOICHI'S.

Also AFO just giving his successor his brother's hand like "Here, take this, that way when I possess you I can still have my dear brother close to me." Very on brand for him.

And the SYMBOLISM. This could mean so many things and I can't articulate any of them bc there's just too much.

But think about it.

WHAT IF SHIGARAKI HAS BEEN WEARING YOICHI'S HAND THIS WHOLE TIME AND IT IS NOW THE ONLY REMAINING HAND.

Okay, I had never truly watched One Piece. After wathing around 7/8 episodes with my little sister (she has watched till episode 400 and something) I found the animation ugly, the characters annoying, and the plot dull. However, I absolutely LOVED the Live Action adaptation. Now I do want to watch the anime, or even yet, read the manga. It will be my next summer's homework. Thing is, I have really enjoyed the series, I like all the characters, even the annoying main character, and I am hopelessly head over heels with Buggy. Love that litle grumpy clown. But because now I'm in such a pirate mood, it seems my brain has decided to go back to Hetalia and the old EngSpa historical! and pirate!au, adn it seems I'm obsessed now, and I shouldn't be, because there's so many things I have to do, so little free time, to be obsessing about these two and piraty things right now T_T Plus, there's not much new pirate content involving these two, which is actually good news, because otherwise I would be consumed by it and not doing what I actually should be doing. And this is my rant today. Bye u.u

“Yowai Akuma”, the Weak Demon. A name which only meant something to sorcerers worth their weight; the name of a curse with the aura of death; a curse that killed without lifting a finger against their opponent; a curse that left no witnesses, not human, sorcerer or cursed spirit. They were a curse that could’ve been on par with even the Curse King. But they were also a curse that vanished centuries ago, one that was never found again.

The clock across from me read one-twenty-three in the morning. I sat in the dim corner of my room, leaning against the wooden closet door and fiddling with the delicate relic in my hands. The necklace glinted in the soft light of the old street lamp outside my window, I needed to close my curtain properly. I rubbed circles on the rim of the kintsugi necklace, feeling the smoothness it gained after years of the habit. 

It’d been several years since I began my search for the Curse King’s fingers. Twenty cursed objects which together would cause catastrophe for humans, curses and sorcerers alike: scattered across the islands of Japan like seeds cast upon farmland. Throughout those years of searching, I managed to chisel just one stroke on my tally, gaining a single finger through sheer luck. 

Now, after more fruitless labour, I enrolled in an academy in Sendai: Sugisawa Third High School. This school was the target of Tokyo Jujutsu College’s newest lead on the Curse King himself, Ryomen Sukuna’s finger was supposedly on the compound. 

The necklace slipped between my fingers; I hadn’t noticed I had been squeezing it till it did. I scoffed. 

“Tomorrow’s another chance. Y/N.”

My phone buzzed on my kitchen counter on the other side of the room. I got to my feet, brushed off my shorts and stuffed the necklace into my pocket. As I rose to my full stature, I scanned over my apartment: a one-room unit with a sleeping area and a kitchen. It wasn’t the most malleable of homes, considering the bed needed to be shoved over to the left, or else there’d be no access to my closet, not that there was much in there anyway. The kitchen was decent, with a gas stovetop oven, a double-basin sink, a small fridge and plenty of counter space.

I opened my phone to the expected message. Kaeru was the only contact I spoke to; the only number on my phone, actually. He was the only person beyond my goal I bothered to talk to at all. I hadn’t seen him since I left to be closer to the school I’d be attending. His text read of my first day of school tomorrow, asking if I was nervous or excited.

Thrilled was the only answer that came to mind. 

‘You: not sure.. but there’s no point in being scared, you know?’

‘蛙 (frog): either way, its cool isnt it? you get to meet a whole bunch of new people!’.

‘蛙 (frog): anyway its pretty late, i have an english quiz tomorrow. i have to sleep or else miss andrews will have my head. night (y/n)!’

‘You: g’night, kaeru!’ 

I shut off the screen before the next bubble of ellipses could become words. Plugging the phone back in, I dragged my way to my bed.

 Tomorrow was another chance; whether it’s the right one is another story.
