For the word game: TV
Everyone is silent though as they watch Hawks fight against an impossibly strong opponent on every TV. They’d only turned the TV to the Japanese news as a joke. A joke that they’re now kind of grateful to, but at the same time not.

Tell me you're afraid of Bakugo without telling me you're afraid of Bakugo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure he says this out of knowing it was a stupid idea and he didn't want to be the one that 'blindly followed a stupid command,' but the speed of which he pawned off that task is funny nonetheless.

Tumblr media
wc: ~850; context: set a few months into the last year of Aldera, Toshinori baits Bakugou into a fist-fight and they got in trouble with admin. this was mostly me testing out whether or not I could write Bakugou without stepping into the bashing zone. izuku pov.
//
The three of them wait outside the classroom: Kacchan impatiently, Izuku anxiously, and Yagi cheerfully.
“Yagi-san, what if you get expelled?” Izuku hisses, weaving his fingers together to stop them from twitching.
“Then I’ll get homeschooled? Honestly, Midoriya-kun!” He laughs under his breath, grinning way too big for a boy who got in trouble for beating up the star pupil of Aldera. Kacchan—looks small, next to him. Small and furious, like he doesn’t know the right way to get Yagi to shut up and sit down. Izuku prays that Kacchan never finds out that Yagi is actually All Might. Something might really break.
“Shut the hell up,” Kacchan snarls. “I can’t hear what they’re saying.”
“Ah, if I know my old man…”
“I told you to shut up!”
“You don’t want to place a bet on it, Bakugou-shonen?”
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING ‘YOUNG’?!”
The door swings open to reveal a pale-faced principal and a deeply unimpressed Gran Torino. The latter is out of uniform, but the clean-cut fashion of the button-up and slacks does an effective job at communicating Torino’s professionalism. He swipes the end of his cane at Yagi’s ankle, and Yagi yelps and jumps in surprise.
“Who are you calling ‘old man’?” Torino snaps.
“Sorry,” Yagi says unapologetically. “What’s gonna happen, jii-san?”
“You’re suspended for three days,” the old man announces, and because Yagi looks delighted at not having to attend school, meaning Kacchan looks furious at this apparent light sentence, the principal valiantly steps in.
“You’ll obviously have assignments over this period, to reflect on your actions. And Bakugou-kun must have an apology made to him.”
“I don’t want his stupid apology!” Kacchan spits.
“Fujita-san,” says Torino, “I believe I told you what was going to happen. I’ll get the parents’ permission. They might even be happy about seeing their son in action, if the boy wants to be a hero. Just get me two teachers.”
“Torino-san, this is a deeply improper way to handle the situation—!”
“The entire way you’re running your school is improper,” he drawls. “Don’t worry, it’s not an issue unique to your administration. I know what I’m doing, and I know my boy. He won’t be the one hitting below the belt.”
Izuku connects the dots faster than either Kacchan or Yagi. He blurts out, “Are you having them fight?”, and two blond heads whip around to stare (or glare) him down, then back at each other. Yagi’s grin widens.
Torino says mildly, “In martial arts classes, they call it a spar. Clears the head, knowing the hierarchy… of who’s better.”
The principal’s distress is palpable. “It’s not legal,” he protests.
“I’d win,” Kacchan declares, bristling. Izuku bites his tongue to stop himself from trying to intervene. This is not a fair fight that Torino is setting up; however Quirkless Yagi is, he hasn’t lost the experience of his time as All Might, and with all the training that Torino’s put them through, his muscle memory and reflexes are sharp. Just because Torino is promising to get parental and teacher supervision—god, it’s a whole trap. Kacchan can’t beat Yagi unless Yagi overestimates him. It would take a legitimate miracle for Yagi to lose.
“I don’t know, jii-san,” Yagi says playfully. “Isn’t that a little mean to Bakugou-kun? He won’t be able to use his Quirk in the fight.” Unlike today, his smile says.
“You need a Quirk to punch someone down?” Torino responds, and he rolls his eyes at Yagi’s tone. “That’s when you cross into villain territory. No. This is going to be good old-fashioned fisticuffs.”
Does Kacchan sense it? He must. He’s never been an idiot. The way his eyes dart down to Torino, assessing, attempting to reassess the old man’s threat level, to so casually propose arranging a fight between two fifteen year olds—Kacchan knows the shape of the trap, then. It just depends on whether he believes he can win.
And Kacchan, Izuku knows, believes in winning.
“Midoriya-kun,” the principal suddenly says, and Izuku flinches at the sheer hope in the man’s tone. “You’ve known Bakugou-kun for a long time. Did he start the fight?”
The weight of all their eyes is overwhelming. His loyalty is being torn two ways, and he doesn’t know who to save. If he stops this fight, and denies Kacchan the chance to show off his skills and heart, Kacchan will hate him. If he stops this fight, and affirms that Yagi threw the first punch, then—All Might won’t hate him. The wry twist to Yagi’s smile is basically a blessing to disavow his fellow Quirkless classmate.
But Izuku doesn’t want to disappoint All Might, or even Gran Torino.
He trembles, breathes shakily, and says, “Kacchan would never miss a fight he couldn’t win,” and in the time his audience takes to process, Izuku quite deliberately sides with Yagi. Not hiding. Standing elbow to elbow, in solidarity.
Kacchan’s face twists. “Deku,” he hisses.
“Focus, boy,” Torino says, and his cane clacks against the linoleum flooring. “Your fight’s with Toshinori. That is, if your parents agree to supervise.”
“What if they’re too busy?”
“We’ll find a time.”

The Cuy’val Dar
Following on from my Jango post, I want to talk about the Cuy’val Dar.
The same warning as that post applies. This is largely my speculations based on canon, but not actually canon.
A note about Legends canon: Unless it is directly contradicted by the current canon, I choose to include Legends canon as canon.
So, the Cuy’val Dar (Mando’a meaning those who are lost) are the trainers Jango recruited to train the clones on Kamino. There were one hundred of these trainers, and seventy five of those one hundred were Mandalorians. The other twenty five were probably bounty hunters and general mercenaries.
Of the seventy five Mandos, we only know the names of 12 of them. Two, Isabet Reau and Dred Priest, were Death Watch sympathizers if not full on members. The other 10 have no stated allegiance but it’s my speculation that at least some of them were True Mandalorians under Jaster and Jango.
There are two whom I am almost certain were True Mandalorians. Kal Skirata is said to have known Jango for years, so he was obviously at least affiliated with the True Mandalorians. He was found by his adopted father, Munin Skirata, when Munin was on a mission with a group of mercenaries. My guess is those mercenaries were Jaster’s people, and possibly even included Jaster himself.
Rav Bralor was a close friend and comrade in arms of Kal Skirata’s long before Kamino, so obviously if he is a True Mandalorian, it stands to reason that she must have been one too.
There are two others who are potentially True Mandalorians. Llats Ward isn’t stated to have any particular affiliation but his chest plate has a whacking great mythosaur skull on it, which is the sigil of the True Mandalorians. Of course, it’s also just a generally important symbol in Mando culture, so Llats could have it on his armour for entirely different reasons.
Miij Gilmar, the trainer of the clone medics, wasn’t born a Mando but became one after he married a Mandalorian woman. She was murdered, unfortunately and he vowed revenge. It’s noted that he had a deep hatred for the death watch allied Dred Priest and Isabet Reau. My speculation is that his wife was killed by Death Watch and he may have joined (or already have been part of) the True Mandos to avenge her.
There is one more trainer I want to discuss in detail. His name is Cort Davin, and he was a Journeyman Protector on Concord Dawn. Obviously this is the same profession as Jaster and Fett Sr, so this suggests he may have been a colleague of theirs. It does seem that he stayed in the Journeyman Protectors until he was recruited into the Cuy’val Dar, so I don’t think he was a proper member of the True Mandos, but he could have been their ally.
We know virtually nothing of the remaining five named Mandos of the Cuy’val Dar, B’arin Apma, Swart Swifto, Wad’e Tayhaai, Vhonte Tervho and Walon Vau. I have no idea if any of these people were True Mandalorians. It’s possible.
A side tangent about Wad’e Tay’haai: one of the few things I could find about him is that his preferred weapons were a traditional Mando spear and a bes’bav. A bes’bav is a Mandalorian flute that doubles as a stabbing weapon. Of course the Mandos have a musical instrument that is also a weapon. Of course they do. It makes me wonder how many other musical weapons exist in Mando culture. And how many other things Mandos have made into weapons. Many, many things probably.
Anyways, this brings me onto the point of this post: why would any True Mandalorians would agree to train the clones despite it going against their well established code of protection over children? And how did Jango feel about these people that were once his?
It’s my personal speculation that any True Mandalorians that joined the Cuy’val Dar on Kamino did so for a number of reasons. The New Mandalorian pacifists were in charge on Mandalore, so anyone wishing to keep their culture couldn’t stay there. I can’t imagine that Mandalorians are welcomed in many places in the galaxy, so it’s possible some of them joined because it guaranteed a place to live and a source of income and food.
Some might have joined out of loyalty to Jango. Perhaps they thought he wouldn’t allow the clones to be treated badly and by the time it became apparent that he would, they couldn’t back out. Perhaps they wanted to help him and therefore help the clones.
I doubt any of them were actually told what they were being recruited for. It was a secret, after all, and I don’t think telling a bunch of Mandalorians ‘there’s a facility where they’re cloning children to be trained as child soldiers for a war in which they’re likely to die’ would go well.
Honestly, I just find the Cuy’val Dar quite interesting. Who are these people? Why did they agree to come to Kamino? What did they feel about the clones?

izuku midoriya and shoot style / the hand motif
“if im worried about my arms, then i’ll use my legs. one for all, full cowling: shoot style”
ive been wanting to talk about this scene for a long, long time. not the scene itself but rather - the significance of dekus signature move in the greater scale of his arc. while it seems innocuous at first - the importance of this move is probably more than is widely recognized. it's something i thought about as this rewatch started.
the obvious, stand-out way is that naturally, as allmights benefactor - developing a move in this direction is a clear change of izuku's grasp on his power. in that same vain, this is also a clear distinction of izuku's style in relation to how he often mimics bakugou.
the biggest take-away is that he's coming into his own as a hero and finally gained a more clear understanding of both his capabilities and weaknesses.
but on the aside - this move style highlights a motif in izuku's character development. the importance and significance of hands.
Tumblr media
from the moment the series began - the idea of a hand or an outreached hand has played some role in the main characters. the above scene from the bakugou and deku childhood is one major example - but the entire essence of shigaraki's character also follows this theme.
several shots of the anime and manga provide this sort of emphasis on hands - specifically an outreached hand. the kamino ward arc with bakugou taking kirishimas hands. another example that lends itself well to this point is overhaul and the loss of his arms and in turn his hands.
im not the first person to note this - horikoshi has mentioned he enjoys drawing hands and believes they're one of the most expressive parts of the body.
even so, i think it's worth it consider deku's relationship to his hands and how deku's character is representative of both justice and redemption. a constant theme we see is izuku reaching out his hands and destroying them for the sake of others. to me, the fact that izuku begins to preserve that same thing is indicative of their importance and doubly representative of his changes.
the path he's paved now goes beyond sacrifice. instead, izuku is gaining a true sense of self. it's no longer as allmights successor, but as him. as pro-hero deku. in many ways, i believe using his legs strongly establishes his sturdiness. his desire to fight with all of him, in a very literal way.
izuku's hands in all senses of the word represent being a saviour and a true hero. the scars concentrated on his hands, the destruction of them during the todoroki fight, the constant outreach for everyone. ideally i hope his arc will end with him taking shigaraki's hand. hands that save above all else, at any cost. hands that must be protected in order to protect otherss.
to me, that's what makes this move a cornerstone. there is nothig more important than who those hands are able to reach. his protection of them is a huge step in the right direction.

i'll stay here with you
pairing: Bakugou Katsuki x gn Reader
synopsis: You and Bakugou talk about what's deep inside.
tw: angst, a bit of fluff, mention of suicide, mention of Kamino Ward incident, mention of trauma, mention of insomnia, foul language because its Bakugou
w.c : 1.5k
a/n: Halu! So I was listening to Butterfly’s Repose and listening to the lyrics remind me of Bakugou. I genuinely wish someone actually said something like this because boy do he needs comfort after the Kamino Incident. Buttttt, I hope this writing give you some kind of comfort too because I wish someone would tell me that everything will be okay. Have fun reading it and I'm sorry if it seem rushed but I was trying my best!
Tumblr media
You were tossing and turning, patting your pillow many times, even tried to listen to playlists claiming to help you to sleep, yet not a speck of sleep is going to grace you anytime soon. With a groan, you stood up from your bed and went to your closet, and then wrap a scarf around your neck. Its not snowing yet, but the weather is still quite cold and being a fire wielder, you’re surprisingly a bit more prone to coldness.
You sneakily tip toe out of your bedroom and went down to the first floor. Looking left and right and with a nod of confirmation to yourself, you quietly walk towards the front door of your dorm and sat down on one of the benches outside. The cold air nipped at your skin, causing goosebumps to raise.
Ever since the dreadful night when the League of Villains attacked your class, 1A and class 1B during the summer camp, you have this constant fear and anxiety that it will happen again.  You remember the utter coldness of fear you felt when you were mere feets away from the villain, remembered the helplessness when you were rescued by Midoriya and the others; it truly made you wonder, what the hell have you been doing in UA. Though the worse was the crushing feeling of losing your classmate, Bakugou Katsuki, to the villains and how it all ended with All Might’s last fight as the Symbol of Peace.
You were completely lost in your thought recalling everything, when your ears caught up to the rough steps of someone walking towards you. Your heart beat a bit louder as your head snapped back to look at whoever it is, and with a huff of relief, you were glad your overthinking lost because it was the Bakugou Katsuki itself walking towards you.
Frankly, you don’t really want to talk to him, if anything you haven’t talk to him much ever since what happened because of the guilt you felt over losing him to the villain, and the fact that you’re really not that close to him. So, you turned your head to the front again, completely ignoring his presence despite making eye contact with him.
Bakugou’s forehead vein popped at your blatant ignorance, his scowl deepening and his feet catching up faster to you. Once he was completely in front of you, chest puffed out and with a sharp look at you, he whispers yelled.
“Who the fuck do you think you’re ignoring huh?!!”. Ah yes, now you remember another reason why you don’t talk to him. Rolling your eyes, you hugged your torso defensively and throw your face to the side while replying him.
“Don’t really feel like talking to you”. Bakugou clicked his tongue as he huffed out ‘how fucking rude’ while sitting down beside you, though at the edge of the bench. After awhile of silence again, he asked.
“Why are you not sleeping?”.
“Cause I can”. You could feel the air warming a bit and smelled a soft scent, his frown getting deeper somehow, clearly annoyed at your shitty replies. The thing is, you and Bakugou just don’t fit together, he’s so hot tempered and you’re the quiet and aloof person, his grumbles annoy you secretly but you’re still very proud to call him your classmate. Though it doesn’t justify your rudeness right now, so you took some time to think whether you should go out with it or not.
“I just can’t sleep, don’t want anything bad to happen again”. Bakugou catch on to you quickly and if anything, he probably understood how you felt best.
Because he’s scared too.
“What about you Bakugou? Why are you awake?”.
“Same as you”. He mumbled out and again silence fill your space. You knew Bakugou is probably overthinking as much as you did, most possibly more because he saw and experienced everything. You have been worried about his mental health too and you’re not sure how to approach him about it. With a huge breath, you glance at Bakugou as you asked.
“Want to talk about it?”. The air went quiet again as he slowly turns to face you. His face now blank, no trace of anger or annoyance on his face. He stares into your eyes for a bit, possibly wondering if its alright to talk about it. He hasn’t talk about it to anyone, his usual temper has tone down so much after the incident and it was quite evident that he’s distraught over what happened.
He then stares down at his fingers, as he speaks. “I’m not really sure what to think about anymore”.
You continue listening, your silence an indication for him to go on. You could hear him gulping and sucking in air as he continues.
“I have thought about every fucking thing and wondered on every single stupid mistakes and in the end, I still wake up with the fact I was the reason of All Might’s end. I’m still so fucking weak, even after all those years I spent breaking myself over and over again. I have thrown up blood, broke bones and so many more fucking sacrifices”. His voice cracking at the end as he turns to look at you, eyes blood shot and lips trembling.
“Why should I keep on being alive after all this?”. Your eyes widen at his words, the strong headed and proud Bakugou was actually struggling with all of this to the point of wishing for end. You let out a shaky breath as you bit your trembling lips, trying to calm yourself down.
Bakugou clasped his shaky hands together, as he whispers.
“What should I do (y/n)?  How do I get rid of this fucked up feeling? How can I continue breathing another day, knowing I caused all those destructions at Kamino? How I caused the citizens downfall? How… how do I forget that I was just a fucking burden all along?”. His voice cracked, and you could see slow tears falling down his cheeks. You reach out for the hand cuff of his sweater, trying to catch his attention.
He slowly picks up his head, noticing your flowing tears as well. You pull him towards you, right hand pulling down his head, letting it fall on your shoulders gently. Your other hand rubbing his back up and down. Bakugou freezes up, not familiar at the sudden affection.
“Its okay, Bakugou, its okay”. Bakugou’s hands slowly reach up to wrap around your frame, his feelings overwhelming him suddenly as he cries into your shoulder. At first you could only feel the dampening of your shoulder, then you hear the hiccups and groans. Then Bakugou’s body shook your own, he bawled his heart out. For the first time ever since, he could cry without being scared of judgement or misunderstanding.
You were crying to; slight sobs could be heard yet your hand continues rubbing his back and your right hand caressing his hair. If you told yourself from the past that one day you would be hugging Bakugou and crying with him, you would get a slap in the face. Yet here you are, feeling his raw emotions, all the things he hid unravelling in your presence.
“I know it’s hard Bakugou… I know it really hurts and you feel like everything is your fault but trust me, no one is blaming you. If anything, everyone cares for you, they’re worried for you because you’re our friend whether you think so or not”. You breath in as you gently peel Bakugou from you and make him look at you. With a fist to his heart and a slight yet sad smile, you continue.
“Take all these pain and turn it into your fuel. The league is still out there Bakugou, you can’t give up yet, you can’t ever give up. Revenge All Might’s end and end all this darkness with a blast”. Bakugou’s lip curve a bit at your choice of words.
“You will be alright Bakugou, my words might not quench your sadness and anger, but know and understand no one blame you and you’re as strong as you could be right now. You are strong, loved and you belong here with us, its not time for you to go yet, okay?”. He nodded at your words, a new sense of calm and relief wash over him.
Maybe all this time all he needs is confirmation, that he will be okay and he was not to blame. That he is still strong and he still belongs. He stares into your eyes, glad that he decided to walk up to you and sit beside you. You gently wipe his cheeks and smile softly at him. Bakugou could feel a weird warmth in his belly as he turns his head to the side and speaks.
“You better not say a word about tonight or I swear, I’ll blast your head off!”. You chuckled and nodded, as the both of you stay a bit longer, comfort and calmness lingers in the air. Maybe after this, the both of you can sleep better and learn that everything will be alright, that you have each other again and can always stay like this again.

Was Edgeshot just waiting his whole career to say this?
The 'It's the pizza guy' gag has gotta be the most cliché, 'oldest trick in the book' thing he could have said to get everyone's attention, but damn if he didn't say it with confidence.
Half the LoV was looking at the door confused, and the other half is clearly thinking, "Ah, crap, either one of these freaks actually ordered a pizza or we're about to be annihilated, aren't we?"

Midoriya: I’ll distract him, you guys get Kacchan out of there.
Momo: Distract him how? A villain who can destroy two blocks with a flick of his finger isn’t going to stop and stare at you dressed in drag and doing the hula.
Midoriya: *pauses and considers it*
Iida: Midoriya, no.
Midoriya: I’m totally going to do that.
Kirishima: Bro, you’ll die!
Midoriya: And it’s going to work because they’ll never expect it.

How will Quirkless Bakugo find out that Aoyama may have been Quirkless once and is the traitor of U.A.?
I sadly have not thought that far ahead, but it probably goes very differently, and I don’t think he’d be as……understanding as deku was
