By July 25, 1994 the album would earn a RIAA Gold status and September 1, 1994 it would go platinum.

It peaked at #3 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Billboard charts and was nominated for countless awards including the 1995 Soul Train Awards and the '95 American Music Award for "Best R&B/Soul New Artist".
