Ahhhhngh what I found in my drafts-

Xiyao sparring ficlet.

Back in their days spent together in Yunping, during Lan Xichen's time on the run, he would teach Meng Yao one-on-one sparring.

Remembering those days, Jin Guangyao pulled out a long piece of bandage from his qiankun sleeve and started wrapping it around his head, covering his eyes. Lan Xichen watched him in his procedures.

"It has been such a long time since our last practice, Zewu-Jun."

Lan Xichen softly laughed, "And if I assume correctly, A-Yao wants to bring the old times back?"

"Zewu-June is right, as always," he said just as he finished securing the bandages.

Lan Xichen did not get to reply, because the other one had already lunged forward with his sword. Lan Xichen reacted immediately and went along with Jin Guangyao's game, as there was obviously no talking him out of it.

They sparred. One pushed forward while the other shielded, moving dinamically. Hensheng and Shuoyue met with sharp clangs while they themselves moved with such silent grace, that only the fabric of their clothes fluttered contentedly. It felt more like a dance to Lan Xichen, personal and intimate. Jin Guangyao carefully calculated his every move, but more than anything, he seemed to enjoy this activity. Meanwhile Lan Xichen, having the advantage of his sight unbounded, let his mind wander off a bit, while he warded off the oncoming strikes. He did not take his eyes off the other man's face. He could not deny, he had missed the time spent together like this with his friend, and it's been years. And Jin Guangyao has clearly gotten better at his martial arts.

Lan Xichen had already played the strictly defensive role in this fight, so it was not surprising, when his opponent eventually cornered him between his sword and a tree. His back to the trunk, he stood motionless, eyes still glued to where Jin Guangyao's eyes would be.

They stood like this for a while, close enough to feel each others faint pants on their skin.

Lan Xichen spoke softly, "This was not a fair fight."

Jin Guangyao tilted his head, "Oh? Zewu-Jun was not the one in disadvantage."

"I don't mean the blindfolds, LianFang-Zun." Their grips have loosened somewhat on the swords, letting the weapons sink slightly. "Clearly, I was the one in disadvantage."

Jin Guangyao quirked an eyebrow. He asked, "How could that be?"

After a beat, Lan Xichen spoke, pausing between his words, "I apologise, but who could expect this poor one to concentrate," he shifted forward a bit and lowered his voice, "when his opponent has such a charming smile?" Saying these words, Lan Xichen lowered his sword all the way, laid his other hand on Jin Guangyao's neck and pressed his lips to Jin Guangyao's own.

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

I wouldn't say 'hate' bc it has to be something hella aggraviting for me to hate it, but maybe a ship I didn't care about before... that'd be chengyao XD.

I mean, I cared them individually before, but I was mostly into their platonic/found family/co-parenting bond. But I have to give it to @ginsays and their amazing art of them, that eventually helped me see the light and give in fully into the beautiful mess those two neurotic, daddy issues filled mfs can create together.

Also the fact that JGY ticks every single box in JC's ridiculous future wife requirements list :')

26. Most shippable character?

Meng Yao. Jin Guangyao. A-Yao. Lianfang-zun. My poor little meow meow TuT

This is the guy who had four of the five leaders of the most powerful sects under his influence in one way or the other, was responsible for killing three of those, had at least a couple other guys willing to do crazy shit/die for him, had not one, but two half-siblings falling in love with him. He's literally called "the beguiling boy" in the translated novel.

He is mdzs' homme fatale and the amount of big strong men that were psychosexually obsessed with him is hysterical and I'm all for it :D

27. Least shippable character?

Huh. Ok this one is a bit more complicated bc this fandom has made me an unhinged multishipper and since this story is just a super big drama between a handful of families, the characters are all more or less involved with many others in one way or the other, and I think there's a lot of potential for exploration there.
