FUCK IT!!!! SHINOKIRA AU HEADCANONS 💗🐱

This is based on the fanfic I am currently writing (yes, it is mpreg, do you even need to ask at this point)

They are both bisexual

Kira decides to get into gardening and stuff, one whole room of their house is dedicated solely to plants, like a little terrarium room. It’s full of a bunch of vegetables and herbs as well as different types of flowers. He takes a lot of pride in maintaining the garden

Shinobu becomes an author at some point and Kira is mostly a stay-at-home husband, sometimes works at the grocery store for a little extra income

Since they’re both bi they gush about hot people together, like celebrities and stuff

Eventually they get a few cats, they let them snuggle up on the couch but not on the bed

Kira gets pregnant a second time with twins. At first he’s devastated but comes around to the idea of carrying the pregnancy to term and keeping the kids (he put his last one up for adoption)

Kira is very self conscious about his stretch marks and surgical scar after pregnancy, but Shinobu thinks they’re beautiful and finds any opportunity to tell him so. In bed she loves to kiss his scars, tells him that they are beautiful

Shinobu also has stretch marks on her thighs, breasts and upper arms from weight changes over time

The first character I first fell in love with: hmm, i remember really liking kira before i started watching? in terms of actually watching it, def dio (sorry for having shit taste xoxo) like hes just funny and pitiful and i cant fix him but i can put him on a lawnmower. i remember also really liking vanilla ice (again sorry for bad taste ajdsfsd) before i was watching and still do.

First Character I feel in Love With

Joseph Joestar. Yes, some of the latter stuff with him kind of sucks. But the initial character for him was a charming scoundrel character that I have something of a soft spot for. Dio is a very close second, but strictly speaking my love for him was a result of Part 3.

Character I never Expected to love as much as I do now? For me this is a close call between Johnathan Joestar (while basic I find his gentlemanly strongman routine rather charming) and Diavolo (one of my favorite villains in the series).

Character Everyone Else Loves but I don’t: Jotaro Kujo is still my least favorite Jojo, but beyond that I never quite enjoyed Kakyoin or Avdol as far as Crusaders go. They are functional, but kind of weak compared to other Jobros.

Character I Love That Everyone Hates: Cioccolata as villains go (I love how much of a bastard he is), but a close second is Caesar Zeppeli from Part 2.

Character I Used to Love but Don’t Any Longer.

Jobin from Jojolion probably. I kind of feel like he got done dirty in the finale of the manga.

Character I would smooch:

For girls Hermes, for guys Dio, for ??? Foo Fighters

Character I’d slap: Johnny’s dad from Part 7 for being a piece of shit dad. Close second is Yoshikage Kira

Pairing that I love: Gyro x Johnny. Adorkable Cowboys saving the world together Giorno x Mista is really close, but in the Part proper there’s an age gap that gives me pause. If in a few years they hooked up I think it’d be fun. Pairing that I hate:

Ignoring incestual stuff Kira x Shinobu (that was cursed as heck). Koichi x Yukako would be here if I went solely by her introduction, but she mellows out enough in later episodes I’m at least tolerant of it.

When I started shipping them: from the very beggining when Charlotte admited she liked Yami in that fight against the Third Eye. I fell for them in that moment.

My thoughts: they need to be together, I want them to become canon and I love their hilarious dynamic. I love “opposites are attracted” and “beauty and the beast” dynamic.

What makes me happy about them: that Yami recognises Charlotte’s strength and respects her a lot.

What makes me sad about them: I wish they would have more interactions.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: the fanfics I’ve read are pretty good, but I wish there were more fanfics in general and more fanfics wirtten in Spanish in particular...

Things I look for in fanfic: fluffy, domestic stuff and a little bit of smut.

Sweet, heartbreaking and tragic. Major spoilers for part 6. A look at a young Jolyne and the yearning she has for her mostly absent father.

Yukako always seemed too unaffected by Aya’s murder for my liking. NTFFT is great if you choose to believe this is what Yukako was up to when the camera wasn’t on her.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart by conceptofzero

“Kira's relieved that his actions never seemed to arouse any suspicion in Shinobu, but he’s found himself with another problem instead. The woman - his ‘wife’ - is taken with him. She flirts, she smiles, she sets her head on his chest and she rests easily with him, unaware of how his hands long to simply wrap around that slim neck of hers and strangle, strangle, strangle until her mouth drops open and her face is as blue as the delicate little veins that run along the insides of her wrists.”

The ultimate KiraShino story imo. Perfectly in character and touching when it’s all over. Shinobu being needy turns into the two of them becoming much more closer when the sun goes down.

I adore fics that fit so perfectly into canon and this one is no exception. SDMOW tells the origin of Joseph and Tomoko’s whirlwind romance and I could not put down my phone while reading!

Perfect Catch by Frostylicious

“His roommate is a mermaid. And yet, Josuke wouldn't have it any other way. Josuke x Yasuho. Oneshot.”

Prettily written with descriptions that make you feel like you were reading straight from an enchanted storybook. Perfect Catch is a hidden gem that will give you all the butterflies!

Let Us Cling Together and Morioh Beach Vacation 1999 by engineDriver

“After a new development in their relationship, Kira distances himself from Shinobu to avoid compromising his new identity. Or is he trying to avoid something else? Will Shinobu find some way to get her “husband” to open up? {Pre-Bites the Dust}”

“Adjusting to his new life, Kira must face his one of his biggest challenges yet: a family vacation. Can he take the heat of the beach before he burns out completely?”

These are two separate stories, but it feels right to include them together! In both stories we see Kira and Shinobu grow closer and in MBV1999 Kira grows even a little closer to Hayato, too! Light hearted and heartwarming. I fawn over anything dealing with my problematic fav and his housewife gf.

A Night on the Town by EdibleNonsense

“In order to secure a potential mafia deal, Giorno must navigate a dinner out. What he doesn't expect is the fact that he ends up taking a guest along with him...”

Spoilers for part 5. I really enjoyed the exploration into Giorno’s grief following the events of Golden Wind. The last we see of Giorno in canon he’s stoic and sitting in an armchair fully embracing his role in the mafia. But what about the ones he’s lost and the loneliness that comes with being at the top? ANOTT handled the themes of moving on and grief beautifully and both Trish and Giorno were very much so in character.

a soft and gentle score is a story I have to reread every now and again because I adore it so much. It’s a story of what happens after part 4 and probably what we’ve all gone through after graduation. After we run out of contrivances to keep a friend group together and life pulls us all into different directions. But what is Josuke supposed to do when life is pulling him toward his best friend’s girlfriend? I LOVE THIS STORY. DEVASTATING, REALISTIC, BEAUTIFUL. I NEED AN OVA OF IT, DAVID PRODUCTION.

A Certain Appreciation by MagicEye

“An encounter with Shinobu leads Kira to reflect on his brushes with intimacy, both past and present.“

I know, I know, another Kira/Shinobu story, but please I had to stop myself from including even more!! Stories that explore unanswered questions about characters or unseen events are so much fun to me. A Certain Appreciation, as the summary explains, recalls previous intimate and consensual interactions Kira has had throughout his life. It was humanizing and endearing to see him navigate sexuality.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

Plenty, and anything smut-related. I can’t write smut for some reason, so there are a bunch of OC/Character and Character/Character I’d like to see (especially F/F). I always like rare-pairs so when I was in the Kuroshitsuji fandom I would have loved some MeiRin/Ronald. Also if anyone is writing Lisa Lisa/Caesar…

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)

A bit of both. I like to architect the main events and the character’s aesthetics or broad-brush personality, but the rest of the details come as the story goes. And I’m open to changing a few crucial events here and there, based on the current progress of the story, and having a clear vision as more is written down. (less clutter in your mind haha)

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

I don’t know all about fandom tropes, but from those I know it’s the execution rather than the trope that bothers me.

Take for example AUs (and including divergent universes, and future rather than just historical AUs). I think AU is great for exploring potential directions in the story: how would the story change if X-character did or didn’t die. Some people have already make jokes that stands are akin to personas. What if stands were a mecha?

My issue from what I’ve read is that most AU fics don’t really focus on world-building or telling a story you haven’t seen before, but rather are obsessed with the relationship of two characters (usually their OTPs). So it comes off as flat because the context should affect how a character acts, and then the character comes off as superficial and the story rather boring: if the world doesn’t affect the characters you may as well tell the same story in the original world.

I guess that’s why I dislike most AUs, and many are just modern-setting to have characters be cutesy with each other (nothing wrong with having your OTP in coffee AUs, you do you). But to me these stories come off as lazy, because they’re not taking full advantage of the AU trope in what could be.

Could also be that I’m a person that when writing or reading likes to see both a character’s POV and the events around them; another way to put this: I want things to happen instead of having one character go around and comment his takes on the world (and there are too many of the latter).

I get a lot of fanfic is romance bc ships, and the way it goes is A meets B in some modern setting, we see A freak out over B and possibly the same for B, but nothing happens externally: same boring coffee-shop, and the focus is we relate cuz we felt love or we really want this OTP. To me it does disservice to what romance can be, because romance is about events in as much as a character’s feelings. Some of my favorite romances (you all should read “Kimi wa Pet” or “Our Happy Hour”) have circumstances push two characters together, and even though one may not relate to the romance part, one finds it interesting to see how love grows and what kind of events bring people together while driving others apart.
