Another one of my home rules for D&D 5e, tables to roll for some special object that are not outright magical like a +1 sword but will make for a unique reward, like the masterpiece of a village's blacksmith or a boon from an old mage!
(as a matter of fact I despise +X weapons and shields, they are not interesting and throw off the best part of the game, the functional math)

I love magical objects with loopholes.
Imagine a necklace amulet that makes the user the strongest one on land.
What I hear here is:
- The amulet doesn't work in water (not "on land") and on land the user is always "the strongest one".
- Or the amulet makes you the strongest one of the ones on land, thus there is a possibility that someone who is from the sea will beat their ass.
- Or imagine this: For years, the one wearing the amulet was strong as hell yes, but only in terms of peak human ability. One day, they get strength of ridiculous power. Because someone REAL strong appeared, and was stronger than the amulet-wearer, so the amulet make the wearer stronger than the one who appeared.

i am thinking how much poorer, how much less colorful the world would be if art was only made by "professionals." if all the music, all the stories, all the sketches & paintings & craftwork of the world was created only by the small category of people able to make a decent living from their art. imagine if the only people allowed to create were the experts & the renowned & those aspiring to the top. what a grey world that would be. how much joy would be bleached away! i love you people who create for the sake of creating, i love you artists who do art for tiny audiences, i love you people who make things even just for one person, even just for themselves, even if no one's watching, thank you thank you thank you for decorating the world in which we all exist

Deep Water Prompt #3138
“They call her sword Belladonna.”
“Is it poisonous?” I asked.
“Not in the traditional sense. Cut someone once though, and the cut will spread unstoppable. One nick is death sentence.”
