Day 297 art meditation … December 17 …
Advent calendar door day 17 …
Here’s a big thing I’ve learned: to stop hoarding. I don’t mean with things or about clutter, I mean right now for me to “save” the “best” art for my book … have that be the surprise… to stop giving my gifts away for free.
The big change I’ve learned - pretty recently - is I now TRUST that I just have more art in me. I have no idea what is coming but as long as I commit to it, I know it will come.
This piece of brand art I love love love love SO much and I’ve been telling myself that I should save the stuff I really love for my book.
Maybe there are publishing rules out there, but until I find someone like a literary agent who will guide me on a level that I cannot guide myself, I’m going to keep MAKING art.
My mother said the most beautiful thing yesterday … In a good marriage, you have to learn how to step back and let the other person have space. In a few days she turns 82 and we have so many points of reference between us about marriages and relationships. And I just loved how my old Mom - who has never been coached and who thinks therapy is for the birds - when she nails an ‘inner’ idea, she nails it.
It’s true for everything, this ‘stepping back’. I think it’s the same thing as ‘surrendering’. And so, the idea of abundance is so lovely once we tap into it. There is more art, more money, more love, more goodness, if we have the courage to make them and if we have the courage to step back and trust …
