mobius stands outside his home watching a life he cannot have. he is lost without his purpose. we watched a whole season of this man making room for loki in his life, giving him a chance to prove his worth. this man slept on his desk! he loses trust in loki after the “backstabbing” only to realize the organization he spent centuries defending, trusting, believing he’s doing good by pruning variants were built on lies, so he could only trust his loki. we see he cannot stand to see loki time slipping because of the anguish on his face, we watch him deal with the stress of possibly losing the only man he could trust and risk his skin. he lingers on the gangway after o.b. tells him it’s too late because he needs loki. not only to help with the tva, but because he unveiled the truth. he betrayed him and came back. he wanted him in S2 but now he needed him in S2. he confided in loki that he never had intentions on returning to his place in the timeline, why would he face what he loss? he expected loki to still be there after everything. he only returned because he had nothing left in the tva and learns he has nothing in his timeline either. without loki he belongs nowhere, so he has no choice but to let the time pass.

I cannot believe that season. truly just. there was not a single episode I didn't sit down to without a genuine conviction that *this* would be the episode where they spit all over everything I loved about the show. I braced constantly throughout the episodes as they kept setting themselves up for Very Stupid story choices only to pull the rug and go "HAHA surprise, idiot!!! We've given you exactly what you wanted <3". until the final episode which was NOT what I wanted and also exponentially better storytelling and character development than any of the ideal scenarios I'd constructed.

something deeply meta about it all. truly a chaos season for the chaos god, where the most chaotic, unexpected, transformative thing they can do is to be good.

Spent the day processing my love for this season only to have your message sum my thoughts and feelings up perfectly, thank you so very much for sending it 💖

Same as you, not for a second did I go in truly expecting anything from s2. Owen and Mobius have my heart, always will, so primarily the show was a vehicle to provide whatever crumbs of his scenes and chemistry with Tom I could get and with the start of every episode I braced for the moment that would get ruined in some way, only to be continually hit with everything I've ever wanted in a show or pairing right up until the finale. Which, while not what I would've chosen, was beautifully crafted and an almost Shakespearean tragic romance that will haunt me for the rest of my days and is still infinitely better than the nightmare scenarios I'd been floating around in my mind so at least there's that and it's impossible not to be thankful for eps 1-5 for giving content anyone could dream of and more 😅

Besides the obvious ending, I'm mostly crushed our Loki and Mobius didn't get a proper goodbye but honestly believe Loki decided to seek out s1 Mobius instead knowing s2 Mobius loved him too much to ever let his sacrifice happen and it would've been too much to bear, so having made his mind up already he at least tried to visit a version most likely to validate his choice. Just wish the Mobius now waiting until the end of time had at least a similar opportunity, but I'm just thankful he didn't lose his memories and could make his own decision that his faith in Loki is what's carried him before and will continue to do so now.

The flip of their characterization from order or chaos is exactly what has me convinced Lokius will reunite because how can they not with such an open ended future?? Even in separation they revolve around each other and they're the only ones left wanting. Mobius and his life are in ruins with nothing but the passage of time and possibility of some spent with Loki ahead while Loki's surely going to find a way to meet halfway when the choice of order has not only made him potentially the most powerful being in existence but one who spends eternity looking at the only person who ever saw him back.

#cutting this short because it's already longer than expected and i'm about to cry again even though i've done so like a dozen times today 😅#but truly s2 has been the most incredible fun uplifting heartbreaking experience and i'm so thankful to have shared it with you all #have a feeling nothing's going to beat it for me as well which is kind of wild to wrap my mind around??#never gonna be another character like mobius or one who means more to me plus owen is it for me now #and if i could craft a perfect episode of anything start to finish it would be s02e01 #the banter their chemistry the touching the sacrifice the perfect balance of plot and humor it's pure love and comfort #what a ride #and thank you again for the loveliest ask!! love hearing what everyone thought of the season and where things can go from here #hope you're having an amazing weekend 💖#ask #loki spoilers

i have SO MANY thoughts on the new episode holy shit, first off my girl sylvie is too hot to work at MCDONALDS they did her dirty.

second of all brad being the only one to ever call loki and sylvies relationship weird was a major unexpected W and it KILLED ME and mobius was just like “yeah.”

ALSO BRAD IS SUCH A FUN CHARACTER.

AND OB AND CASEY ARE SO CUTE I CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE INTERACTIONS WITH THEM.

also i hate to say it but loki and sylvie are a great duo, even if making it romantic was huge mistake they do work great together and the fighting scene was awesome.

BUT THE LOKI AND MOBIUS EATING PIE SCENE WAS MY FAVORITE OMG loki trying to comfort mobius and ACTUALLY DOING A GOOD JOB AND BEING LIKE “lets go get some pie”

LET'S TALK ABOUT "HE'LL MAKE IT BACK"

Special thank you to @mmobiuses, @starrose17, and @stevenrogered whose gifs make-up the lion's share of this post. Thank you to all the other amazing gif artists as well, without you, my metas won't be possible.

This might come as a surprise to a lot of people, but I actually wasn't big on Lokius until Season 2. I thought Loki and Mobius made a cute ship in Season 1, but that was the extent of it. In truth, I lost interest in the Loki series by the S1 finale and had 0 interest in watching S2. I didn't give the series another try until I saw positive reviews on Tumblr. I therefore started watching S2 when S2E4 dropped.

LOKI SEASON 1

Enjoying the potential love story between two characters is a deeply personal and subjective experience. So take what I say as my personal experience observing Loki and Mobius's relationship.

I fully believed Mobius loved Loki in S1 in the platonic sense. Tom Hiddleston has given a few interviews on Loki's and Mobius's relationship and seems to believe in this sentiment as well [see 5:30-7:30 and 10:57-11:00]).

That is to say, in S1, I didn't feel, "Oh, my god ... he loves him." It was more, "Yes, he loves him", there is no question, his actions prove it.

There is wiggle-room for unrequited love in the S1E4 interrogation scene, but the jealousy Mobius exhibited could have just as easily been a combination of anger on behalf of his murdered colleagues and platonic jealousy.

However, I felt the first hint of unrequited love from Mobius occurred during his goodbye scene with Loki in S1E5. Specifically, this look:

I had no expectations for that look to pay off in any way. Season 2 surprised me.

LOKI SEASON 2

S2E1 is amazing episode because, through subtext, it reframes how Mobius's S1 emotions may be interpreted with stronger evidence for romantic motivation. In this episode, there appears to be a subtle, gradual build-up to the moment that Mobius's love for Loki may be viewed as fully romantic. Let's break down the episode and look at the progression:

First, learning that Loki is at the TVA: *sigh* I can't find the "Loki's here?" gif.

Second, and perhaps the most infamous, the reunion and whole-body support Mobius provides Loki in the TVA War Room (physical comfort):

Third, Mobius bringing Loki somewhere safe and quiet, assuring him that "it's okay" (emotional comfort):

Fourth, Mobius insisting that Loki's condition must be fixed, not once but twice, in two different scenes. A third (writer's magic 3s!) instance occurs in the Heart of the TVA, just before the gangway scene (prioritizing the other):

Fifth, Mobius's admission that Loki's timeslipping looks horrible, and he can't look at it anymore. He repeatedly stresses to Loki how serious this is (emotional and physical empathy):

Sixth, Mobius taking Loki to exact right person who can help. This is particularly significant, because Mobius is the only person in MCU canon who has verbally expressed concern for Loki's physical well-being and took immediate action to stop the pain (act of service):

Seventh, the third time Mobius prioritizes Loki's wellbeing. He scolds Loki and reminds him they have only one shot at getting his timeslipping corrected before the temporal radiation becomes too high (prioritizing the other):

Eighth, Mobius interrupting Loki, insisting that he will make it back. The subtext here is that no other outcome is acceptable or thinkable for Mobius (emotional comfort):

Finally, Ninth, the clincher: "He'll make it back." (self-comfort)

This scene is everything to me. Moments 1 through 8 build-up to this singular moment. Let's do a micro-analysis on it.

After Loki timeslips, the camera stays on Mobius. It tracks him as he kneels down to pick-up the time sick, the last thing Loki touched. The camera then pans up as Mobius rises.

@stevenrogered, THANK YOU for this gifset. It's literally the only one I could find that captures the camera tracking Mobius after Loki disappears, and this is my all-time favorite Mobius scene.

Mobius stands for a moment, motionless, and the camera holds on his facial expression. He's staring at where Loki WAS for extended period of time (keep this in mind for later). He's holding his breath. He's worried, scared, and hopeful, not for himself and the danger he faces on the gangway, but for Loki.

Finally, he exhales as he says to himself, "He'll make it back".

This entire sequence--particularly the moment when Mobius picks-up the time stick and holds it in silence--made me feel, "Oh ... Oh ... he loves him."

The camera stays with Mobius, capturing his reaction to this high-stakes situation for a significant amount of time (@loki-us, maybe you can get this timed starting from the moment Loki disappears and Mobius starts to kneel to pick-up the time stick?). Cinematographers don't do this type of hold unless they want to illicit a strong emotion from the audience regarding the character we are focusing on in the moment.

My insides swooped, which rarely ever happens when I view film or television.

And this camera hold, this pregnant pause, is mirrored by Loki's stare in S2E5:

Look, I'm fully aware that this is Disney and thus the dream that is Lokius will never come true... but hear me out.

I have never seen Loki so genuine, or show so much caring, with literally anyone else. I have never seen him so comfortable, protective, or trusting of any other character in the MCU.

Its honestly just kind of beautiful to watch?

Furthermore, Mobius is the first character I can recall who actually just likes and cares about Loki? He's protective of him and takes care of him, and its so natural?

As I said, I know not to get my hopes up. But I hope they at least properly acknowledge how significant their bond is. They need to do that justice, because it is too monumental to brush it aside.

Oh, nothing.

Just thinking about Loki finally finding comfort in Mobius’s arms.

Just thinking about the way if Loki were to discard his responsibilities of being the God of Stories and he and Mobius could just be with each other.

Just thinking of the way Mobius would comfort Loki, would repeat in whispers, “I know, honey, I know,” as Loki would grapple onto him for unneeded leverage when finally reuniting with him, when finally realizing that maybe he could live the life he desires without conflict with the man he loves.

Their kiss would be so passionate, both of them trying to grasp onto the thought that they’re with each other.

I feel like Loki would shed tears, definitely. All the burden of glorious purpose that was previously weighed on his shoulders now dissipating slowly as Mobius holds him closely, securely.

It would be an overwhelming moment that Loki wouldn’t know how to take it in. But Mobius would be there, shushing him softly, because he knows, he knows.

Yeah… just thinking how Mobius is such a significant asset to Loki’s character.

His hands craved great destruction, for vicious chaos, to raze down the TVA until dust floated around in a pocket, to rip apart each branch until he retrieved his heart.❞

keep in mind, i wrote this on a whim with minor edits. this idea has been begging to crawl out of me. i am not a smut writer and i never experienced a panic attack, so i tried my best. please be kind <3

Before

Nobody else noticed.

Things had been going great. As great as things could be with the looming threat of the Temporal Loom exploding and destroying the TVA, but their questions were finally reaching resolute answers, so he held onto hope for a little longer. He had too for the sake of the timelines and the god standing near him. They retrieved He Who Remains’ variant, Victor Timely, a strangely fitting name, and Sylvie came back to help. Well, that part he wasn’t entirely happy about, he wished he’d been able to rant to Brad about her and Loki’s odd, egotistical romance since nobody else seemed to understand. It’s unnatural, yet abnormally predictable for a Loki to fall for themselves, he tried not to let his thoughts get carried away but whenever Loki uttered her name, Mobius clenched his jaw to ignore the nagging in his gut.

He wouldn’t let anybody know the satisfaction he felt watching Loki fight her to defend Victor, he almost smiled at the sight but Ravonna glaring at him as if he pruned her first stopped him from celebrating his small victory. He had to deal with her first. When the chaos erupted, as often happened with Lokis around, Mobius found what he could much to Loki’s dismay, he wouldn’t admit his glee when the god silently threw his leg over the tandem bike in defeat.

He wouldn’t dwell on Sylvie’s return. Not right now when things were finally looking up for them and she wasn’t acting as dagger-wielding violent as usual.

Loki had been standing beside them, nodding along to the rushed ramblings of O.B. and Victor about the loom and using the prototype while Casey commented when he could among the mad scientists. Mobius had no clue what any of it meant. Sylvie looked anxious to find a solution, bickering with Loki about timelines and godhood, so she could return to her shift at McDonalds and the little life she created for herself. He’d been tempted to ask how they made the apple pies but then it happened.

Loki’s eyes were blank for a moment then his shoulders tensed ever so slightly as if an unseen force grazed his spine, he looked around like he needed to recall his surroundings. The sudden change left Mobius uncertain and concerned, the urge to reach out and steady a hand on his back came over him.

A while after the time-slipping incident, he hovered over Loki afraid of the god disappearing again in sudden awful bouts of chaos. He was worried. What if he slipped again never remained, always to be stuck out beyond his reach. The thought terrified him. Mobius touched him more than usual; a firm hand on his arm, their legs tangled under his desk, his fingers on his shoulder while he leaned over him, reading a file on his desk; a touch on his back reserved for elevator rides. Loki seemed pleased from all his light affections; he was a god who still experienced mortal worship until he snapped at him for turning into an unbecoming nuisance with the little offended pout he always had when people frustrated him. Mobius laughed it off and ceased his need to reach out to feel him, to assure he remained, but the nervousness never faded, he never stopped thinking; what if he slips again?

Mobius couldn’t imagine living in a world without a Loki Who Remains.

“Hey, you okay?” The scientists didn’t hear him over their constant exchange of ideas over the clattering of tools and material. Sylvie glanced over; her eyes ran over his body to check for any changes in his condition. Mobius wanted to snap at her to mind her business, she didn’t care about his wellbeing when she was fighting him in a Ferris Wheel, but Loki had his attention.

“Mobius, yes, I’m fine.” Loki came over to him in big strides then grabbed his arms with a reckless need. Mobius grunted from the force, almost stumbling back as Loki leaned closer to him. The frantic, near desperate look in his eyes resembled his days of madness in New York. “I need to talk to you. In private.”

“We don’t have time. We need to-“

“To stop the Loom from imploding so you can return to your precious timeline.” He said with a rushed exhale, “I get it, Sylvie. But I need to speak with him, now.”

Loki shook where he stood. Mobius’ gut clenched as he stared at him, trying to look around to see if anything bothered him but Loki only tightened his grip if he dared move too much. He was normal a few minutes ago. He remembered the hatred in his eyes after calling him a scared little boy, but he truly looked frightened as if he’d crumble into dust without holding him. As Mobius reached out for his shoulders, his eyes ran over the paleness of his skin and lingered on the unshed tears in his eyes. Who hurt him? Who did he need to hurt back? Mobius cradled the side of his face; Loki closed his eyes and grabbed his wrist.

“Where do you wanna go?” He whispered.

Mobius hated how weak Loki made him feel. For the longest time, Mobius believed he’d been a model analyst of the TVA even with his workaholic tendencies. He became stern and unrelenting, not able to bend to anyone's will except for Ravonna. He appreciated the order, always planning his next step ahead while watching a trickster wreak chaos on a timeline beyond his reach. Mobius knew with all his centuries of observing Loki that he would find a way to disrupt the balance with his ramblings of glorious purpose in those brilliant green eyes. He’d nestle into his peaceful life, sleeping on his desk with his dark hair framing his face and listening to his fears over a slice of pie as if Mobius weren’t a mere mortal in the grace of a god, a force to be reckoned with.

That’s why he lov-

No, it’s ridiculous to entertain such a notion. Loki didn’t belong to him, he never did. He always belonged to himself. He’d never belong to Mobius. After Timely and O.B. fixed the loom, he’d jump between different timelines in search of his glorious purpose elsewhere. There’s no room for Mobius in his future. He shouldn’t have let a variant turn him soft, but the desperation in his watery eyes silenced the judgmental voice in his head. Right now, Mobius wanted to ease his pain, and nothing would stop him. If Loki told him to run down the gangway in the bulky suit, to stand until all his skin peeled away under immense radiation, he’d do it to get rid of the fear in his eyes.

“I-Is there some…something t-the matter w-with the wizard.”

“The realization must’ve hit him that we all face a fiery doom if we aren’t successful.” O.B. said while crouched behind the counter, the sounds of his hands rummaging through a box of junk. “I had similar feelings of dread when the loom started to expand beyond our control.”

“Let’s not think too much about it.” Casey said with a nervous smile. “Let’s think about what we have to look forward to afterwards.”

“I’m going to write another book!” O.B. shot up with the proper tool in his hand.

Casey perked up. “Will you sign it for me?”

“Of course.”

“M-May I h-have a signature a-as well?”

“Let’s focus! We have no time for chatting.” Sylvie said, looking pointedly at Loki’s back. Mobius wished he’d prune her when he had the chance.

Loki opened his eyes. Mobius’ breath hitched at the unease in them, from the god leaning into his touch. He ached to hold him close until the loom took away everything precious to him. Everyone else be damned.

Mobius swallowed. “It’ll be quick."

Fallout New Vegas DLC Sleeping Arrangement Headcanons:

After making my post about my thoughts on how the sleeping arrangement inside the Lucky 38 would work with all the companions.

I couldn't stop thinking about the DLC characters so here’s my headcanons!!

Honest Hearts:

The Dead Horses and The Sorrows are always courteous offering my Courier Six a bed to rest in:

When traveling with Follows-Chalk if it's too late to return to the Dead Horses Camp, they'll find somewhere safe to sleep. The plan is to have one guard while the other rests. However, they stay up wayyy too late talking. Follows-Chalk teaches her how to read stars while she tells him stories from her travels.

Waking Cloud wears and uses her Yao Guai Gauntlet as a pillow (it also allows her to quickly spring into action). She misses her children and as they're falling asleep, tells Courier Six stories about them.

Joshua Graham is usually the last to go to bed, so he'll sleep on whatever bed isn't taken (or the floor). I imagine he always sleeps on his back. Since it distributes the pain evenly instead of putting a large amount of pressure onto one spot.

If my Courier Six is also awake she'll say a prayer with him before bed.

If Joshua is up late working on inventory and my Courier Six is inside Angel Cave, she'll be lulled to sleep by the fire and noises he makes.

Dead Money:

You know how Dean Domino has secret stashes hidden everywhere? He also has hidden sleeping spots. Multiple pillows and blankets which he does NOT like sharing but will begrudgingly with my Courier Six.

Dean Domino has lived in the Sierra Madre the longest, which has caused him to become a light sleeper. He will always bitch about back pain, regardless if he's sleeping on an old mattress or couch.

Once, when traveling with my Courier Six, she got VERY sick and dizzy from the red cloud, forcing her to rest. Dean thought about ditching her (but couldn't with the whole "wedding rings around their necks" plus he wants to use her for protection). So he dragged her to one of his spots. When Courier Six woke up she thanked him and offered to keep watch, so he could rest as well, which he reluctantly accepted.

Courier Six is the only one he'll sleep around.

Christine has an extremely hard time falling asleep because she’s afraid she'll wake up in the auto doc.

My Courier Six offers to sit next to Christine, hold her hand and keep watch while she tries to sleep. My Courier Six's perception isn't high enough to understand Christine, but she can sympathize with how difficult it is to fall asleep in the Sierra Madre.

Dog and God sleep sitting perched up against a wall. Dog snores while God doesn’t. He's far too large to sleep comfortably on most of the furniture scattered around. Courier Six worries about him but can't convince him to sleep differently.

Old World Blues:

My Courier Six sleeps in the bed inside The Dome. However as she slowly begins repairing everyone inside The Sink (Muggy, Toaster, Jukebox, ETC.) it becomes harder to sleep in there. She also feels WAYYY too guilty about the idea of turning them off.

So near the end of the DLC after getting closer to everyone she starts occasionally sleeping inside The Think Tank. Specifically using the weapon trunk and table next to Dr. 8 as a makeshift desk.

My Courier Six has 100% woken up to some of them hovering over and observing her sleep 👁️👄👁️ (especially Dr. Dala).

After she peacefully resolved things with Dr. Mobius, before returning, she slept on his floor. Making sure not to sleep on or touch any of his notes. Despite this, she woke up with math equations written on her face.

She has no idea how he did that.

His humming and silly singing soothes her to sleep:

Lonesome Road:

My Courier Six is FIGHTING for her life in The Divide and sleeps whenever she can (which isn’t often). Ulysses is watching her from a distance and will also (sometimes) sleep when she does. Due to his past as a member of the Legion and a Courier. Ulysses is able to sleep easily in odd places.

ED-E watches over my Courier Six while she sleeps. Alerting her to any danger. However, until she falls asleep, ED-E lets her hold him like this:

It makes her think of home (The Lucky 38). Since that's how she usually sleeps with her ED-E in the Presidential Suite.

Tears of a Trickster

Sub!TVA Loki x Afab!Dom!Reader

When it came to sex, Loki has always needed it rough, hard, and quick. It did help that you always had the energy that seemed to even out Loki’s chaotic nature, so whenever he had the urges or needs most adults would, you happily obliged and took care of him…but today felt different. After your usual rough session, Loki seemed more…sensitive and emotional. As you began to clean up and remove the strap, he clung to your arm.

“Loki, what’s wrong?”

“…Mommy…”

You smiled softly as you laid down next to him, setting the strap down at the end of the bed.

“Yes baby, Mommy’s here. I’m not going anywhere.”

He wrapped his arms around you as he buried his face in your chest, soft gasps of relief spewing from him as Loki began to cry. It was common knowledge in the TVA that Loki was a traumatized god, but the extent of his trauma was unknown to everyone but you and Loki. Not even Mobius knows just how true his statement of Loki being a ‘scared little boy’ was. Between his treatment at the TVA, his treatment from Odin, and all the bullshit he went through, it amazed you just how Loki was able to simply exist without having a mental breakdown every 20 seconds. It hurt you to see him so upset.

His crying became more and more intense as his entire body began to shake, gripping onto you as he bawled his eyes out. All you could do was hold him in your arms and comfort him…

“Shhh…sh sh sh…I think someone’s experiencing subdrop…”

And he was. Loki’s subdrops we’re horrendous and have only gotten more frequent within the last few days or so. The sight of a god of trickery and mischief sobbing and wailing would normally make anyone uncomfortable or embarrassed, but to you it was normal. You continued to hold him as Loki continued to cry, simply clinging to you like a child as you rubbed his back. It was only until he latched onto your nipple and began to suck, almost as a form of self-soothing.

He was so precious like this. To see his beautiful blue eyes shimmer like stars as his soft pink lips wrapped around your nipple…it both warmed and broke your heart to see such a rare scene. Quite a rare sight, indeed…

“Loki…my sweet little prince…”

He blushed harshly as he began to tear up once more.

“I-I…I feel…”

You gently pulled him away from your chest as you cradled him, his soft sniffles and shaky arms wrapping around your neck as you continued to soothe him.

“I…I feel…small…”

“I know…”

“Super small…”

“Yeah?”

“Mhm…”

He stared up at you with a sense of innocence that he never usually showed. The poor little trickster was so distraught that he stayed quiet. There was a moment of silence before you spoke up.

“Anything else you want to talk about?”

“…”

You two began to sit and snuggle in silence as he stared into your sparkling eyes. It’s quite obvious that Loki was enjoying himself before he began to stare of to space, flashbacks coming to his mind as his thoughts are interrupted by your voice.

"Loki?"

Startled, Loki snaps out of the flashback and looks over at you.

"Loki, is everything okay?"

His face falls as he is once again faced with the reality of his traumas, and he can't bring himself to speak. All he can do is shake his head and look away as you watched. You gently cupped his face as you laid the both of you down on the bed as he grabbed your wrist.

“Loki…”

“Y-yeah?”

“How can I help you feel better?”

“C-cuddle?”

You smiled softly as you gently rubbed his cheek. He’s such a sweet little trickster. Loki clung to you as he took a deep breath, letting his tears fall as he buried his head in your chest. His tears fell harder and harder as he began to slowly snuggled up against your chest. This only made you want to kiss him more and more as he began to coo while you pulled him closer to you.

His cooing was so adorable as you continued to hold him. The cuddling continued as he began to whine and pull away.

“Whaaa!! Owie!!”

You quickly sat up and grabbed the TVA medkit as you examined his body. A few old faded scars and scuffs from battles and childhood. Some innocent and some not so much. The poor god was shivering as he hesitantly let you touch him, gently shivering as he let you hold him and examine his body before noticing a massive bruise on his ankle.

“Honey…what’s this?”

Loki whimpered as he began to tear up.

“I got my foot caught in a trip wire trap while on the field today…”

You noticed his tear-filled eyes as he tried to brush it off as nothing. His pale gentle skin shimmering under the lights as the red and blue bruise on his ankle showed more and more speckles of purple. Such a sight upset you as you began to clean him up and patched up his ankle.

“There we go…don’t worry, I’m here for you.”

Loki panted and whined as his member began to slowly harden as you finished patching him up and kissed his inner thigh. This made you smile as you gently rubbed his belly. He’s such a cutie!

“Y/N…”

“Hmm?”

“Hard…”

“Ah, I see…ok, how about this?”

You gently grabbed his member and jacked him off, earning a small burst of cum and a low groan from Loki while he laid on his back. The poor little god was tired and overwhelmed. You let him go and rubbed his torso as he whimpered.

“Are you ok?”

Loki nodded as he turned to his side and closed his eyes as he dozed off to sleep. Welp, looks like he was done for the night. You smiled softly as you patted his bottom and decided to address his trauma at a later date, not wanting him to hurt himself trying to explain. You smiled softly as you rubbed his back.

“Sleep tight, my little prince.”

And so…the tears of the trickster stopped as a smile grew more pronounced on his face.

Jet-Skiing through Identity: a deep dive into Mobius M. Mobius (part 1) 🚤

The story started when you said hello.

Our first interaction with this character dates back almost three years now, on the 9th of June 2021. That was when the first episode of the Loki series was released.

So it goes: we see Mobius at the guiding side character, someone to follow in this vast new space the main character is suddenly thrown in. He is a calm, steady figure. However, his serious status as an analyst not cancelling a friendly character. The first ever shot in the series introduces Mobius under the sunlight. The following scenes show him speaking French to a little girl, proving a soothing behavior despite the tight situation they were in.

For someone who works at the TVA, he shows to be quite open minded. He, of course, has a very analytical mind - while still considerating he could think outside the box, whereas other of his colleagues wouldn't accept that a box exists. Even having studied variants, having a focus point is Loki, and knowing the danger it would bring to have to trust one, he still gives this variant a chance. More than that, he takes full responsability for it: when Ravonna says: "If anything goes sideways, it's on you" he responds with a relaxed "Okay".

The first impression Mobius leaves is, therefore, one of a relaxed, almost joyful one.

Although meant to be playful, his response to Loki's threat to "burn this place to the ground" with a flippant "I'll show you my office, you can start there" hints at a potential underlying dissatisfaction with his own situation within the TVA.

But that's not all, and when the easygoing dialogue doesn't work to get under Loki's skin (which couldn't have happened so easily anyway) we get to see where studying variants brought Mobius: to knowing how to manipulate through emotions, using the information at his hands. The only way to get Loki talking was to shatter the illusion he was maintaining, and Mobius knew that. Being able to see this variant for what they truly are proves his smartness, but "lack" of empathy. However, it is more of a block than a lack- for the sake of efficiency- as a consequence of not only working, but living your entire life in the TVA. As a consequence to this, great strenght is also required to keep your true nature instead of just letting it be erased by time and the utter dedication to the time keepers- the only beings allowed to tell right from wrong. Mobius proves that strenght too.

Then, in the second episode of the series, the frame narrows down: from the big scheme to a lower one. Now, a more comfortable theme seems to be growing in the atmosphere between these two characters. We can see Loki sitting with his feet on a desk, magazine in hand, having a small quarrel with Miss Minutes. This is when we find out that Mobius still has more to introduce about himself. There is something that gets him closer to the viewers: having a personal interest with no specific corrrelation with the rest of the story: jet skis.

Going on the first mission of finding the rogue Loki variant (Sylvie, as she is later called) Mobius doesn't let himself be fooled away by Loki's silver tongue, even if in attempt to give him the chance he brought him in for, he almost gets into his play. "You almost had me for a second. My ears are sharp too" Therefore, this character with a first impression of a calm guide and a comic relief isn't to be underestimated. Just because he believes in his cause (collaborating with Loki to fin his variant) it doesn't make him a fool. -> If you have to courage to believe in something impossible, you also have the strength to make it possible.

There is also a soft jelaousy in his character; and seen not only in his attitude towards Loki finding an ally in Sylvie. It's there when talking to Ravonna Renslayer about "other analysts", and the traces left by them in her office.

This might appear as a personal pride, when for Mobius, it is more like a fear: he's afraid of being abandoned or replaced. (Remember the "Who's gonna miss an old analyst with a heart of gold" from season 2?) This internalized feeling therefore translates to the jelaousy we see on screen (or the blocking of emotions once again, but we'll get to that later).

Ravonna's "I know you have a soft spot for broken things" reveales how this character always cared, maybe more than he should have. This desire to help Loki get better (spoiler: he succeeds) is rooted in his own heart, in need of the same care he is giving away. -> Look at you comforting others with the words you wish to hear.

It also grows quickly into something more, that strictly has to do with this variant, a sympathy that is not put into words, but is seen in actions.

He once again proves to be gentle with Loki, despite the latest mission not going the way he was supposed to. He's stubborn, still wanting to go his way even when there are so many others: safer, and that conform to the TVA. He wants to give Loki his daggers back (LOVE IS A DAGGER WHO?!?), clear proof that he is confident in what he is doing. While the potential consequences outweigh his previous actions , Mobius's determination stays the same.

The one unforeseen factor that disrupts his meticulously ordered plan is Loki's escape through the time door after Sylvie bombed the sacred timeline. For the first time, we see Mobius's cool crack, his frantic calls of "Loki!" echoing in vain.
