SITTING IN A CORNER CAN BE A VALUABLE AND TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is easy to get swept away by the constant demands and distractions around us. We often find ourselves caught up in the chaos, without taking a step back to reflect on our actions and the world we live in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sitting in a corner, away from the noise and distractions, allows us to disconnect from the external world and reconnect with our inner selves. It provides us with a much-needed space to ponder upon our thoughts and emotions, and contemplate our place in the world. It is during these moments of solitude that we can find some wisdom and clarity in the chaos that surrounds us.
Tumblr media
As I sit in a corner, I find myself in a state of mindfulness, where I am fully present in the moment and aware of my surroundings. I observe the people passing by, the various sounds and smells, and the beauty of nature around me. This simple act of observation helps me to appreciate the world in a different light and understand the complexities of human existence.
Tumblr media
Moreover, sitting in a corner also allows me to reflect on my own experiences and the lessons I have learned in life. It is a time for introspection, where I can acknowledge my mistakes and make peace with my past. It enables me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and my place in the world, which ultimately helps me to grow and evolve as a person.
Tumblr media
But, it is not just self-reflection that makes sitting in a corner a powerful tool for personal growth. It also allows me to ponder upon the world around me and the challenges we face as a society. From global issues like poverty and climate change to personal struggles such as mental health and societal pressures to conform, there is no shortage of problems in our world. However, in the quiet of a corner, I can contemplate these issues and find ways to contribute to their solutions.
Tumblr media
These moments of contemplation result in my notes upon pondering and wondering. They are my thoughts and insights, my ideas and perspectives on the world. And while they may seem insignificant to some, to me, they hold the potential to make a difference. They are the seeds of change, the catalysts for progress, and the building blocks of a better world.
Tumblr media
The world we live in is not perfect, and there is no denying the negative situations that exist. But, by taking the time to sit in a corner and ponder upon it, we can find the wisdom and motivation to turn these negative situations into something positive. It allows us to take a step back and see the bigger picture, to understand the root causes of the problems and find ways to address them.
Tumblr media
In a world that is continuously moving at a fast pace, sitting in a corner may seem counterintuitive. But, in truth, it is more important now than ever before. In a society that values productivity and constant activity, we often forget the importance of stillness and reflection. However, it is in these moments of stillness that we can find the clarity, inspiration, and wisdom to create a better world for ourselves and future generations.

Do you know the feeling when you are calm, and the world is calm, there is a slight breeze, you have the food you have been craving, your heart is beating at a normal pace, all your organs are functioning optimally, the lighting is just right, and you are happy? . . Neither do I. But I am waiting. The writing-midwifery combination
Those who have been following me, or know me in person, know I have two big passions: writing and midwifery. Some would say this is a weird combination, but I’m here to tell you it’s more logical than one might think. As I’m dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on Desperandum, this moment would be as good as any to explain the inevitable connection between my two favorite things.
For starters, both being a midwife and being a writer require having a creative mind. And as my fellow artists would know: inspiration strikes in the weirdest and most unexpected moments. It wouldn’t be the first time I was in the middle of guiding a baby into this world when I thought of the beginning of a story plot or a good first line of a short story. Of course, I wouldn’t use someone else’s life story for my own writing without them knowing it. But being in a tricky situation at work, or hearing a terribly bad joke an anxious birth partner blurts out make my writing-brain-senses work overtime.
Writing and midwifery have a lot of similarities. With both, you get lack of sleep (because with both, you simply don’t stop until it’s finished), you’re close to a nervous breakdown regularly and go through about 35023498 emotions before wrapping it up. Maybe that’s the kick of it: you never know what you’re getting before you’re done. And when you finish, you can hardly wait to start again.

51/365 – Something old. I came across this old piece of writing, I probably wrote years ago. You could actually notice the ink seeping through, intertwining with the ink on the opposite side forming one whole.

We need more representation of Black Muslim Women on social platforms like instagram, we lack the representation and recognition especially on these “hijabi” pages that favor Muslim women with certain features or styles, I’m not trying to attack certain groups who are clearly represented the most I just want to stress how there isn’t one way to be a Muslimah ✨🖤

Let’s celebrate. I just finished my first draft. It’s only 20,021 words long. I know that’s short but I am not worried alhamdu lAllah. I left almost everything out. You can think of it as a second outline. I am going to take two weeks to regroup and then back to writing. . . . . . . . . #writinggoals #finishedwriting #firstdraft #authortobe #1stdraft #celebratingsmallsteps #alatereveries #alate #muslimwriter #muslimahwriter #egyptianwriter #africanwriter #smallsteps #20kwords #cantwait #nanowrimo #writingabook #amwriting #writingprocess #writerslifeforme #newwriter #writerstart #writingisawesome #writingisgood #writefromtheheart #writethetruth #writeaboutwhathurts #writewritewrite https://www.instagram.com/p/CAGnORWAG4u/?igshid=1xttr3pj8kbym
