Did you know it's Neurodiversity Celebration Week this week? It runs from the 18th - 24th of March.
Neurodiversity isn't just about autism - it also includes ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, Tourette's and OCD, among various other conditions and neurotypes.
If you're neurodivergent, remember to celebrate yourself this week, and if you know someone who is, let them know how much you appreciate them :)

Oliver Swindon: "I can see the music" (Synesthesia + Sensory processing disorder) ♾🌈
Another neurodivergent driver from my AU! Oliver loves music, it's like he can see what colors the sounds are. He's still very sensible about textures, temperatures and noises.

Celebration!
Well, I have just discovered that it is Neurodiversity Celebration Week…. Yay me! That means that you all get to celebrate me in all my wonderfulness. You get to love me for my honesty even when you don’t like what I’m telling you and it doesn’t match up with all those lies you tell yourself on a daily basis.
You get to celebrate my ability to focus on the same subject even though it means I…

happy #neurodiversitycelebrationweek! 💕 it has been just over a year since my autism diagnosis, so I’m still going through a lot in terms of acceptance and self love! but I have met so many wonderful autistic and neurodivergent people and I’m grateful that I have a community of people who support me, an autistic woman, to run her own shop 🥺💕

"I don't want your "neurodiversity celebration" if it's only about my contribution to capitalism.
I am worth more than whether I can be productive for your company, and deserve to be seen as such...
I don't want your "neurodiversity celebration" if it's only about autism and ADHD..."

"I was scrolling TikTok and saw a creator talking about their childhood and how they struggled. I started to think back to my own and it opened my eyes a lot"

If your neurodiversity celebration only includes autism, adhd and a handful of learning disabilities, it's not neurodiversity celebration.
It's "I pick the already less stigmatized neurodivergences because I don't wanna be associated with/ don't wanna bother with learning about more stigmatized ones" week and I don't wanna have anything to do with that.

The Terry Wogan Factor
It’s very easy to get yourself a bit of cheap popularity. You find a few cliches, throw a few hackneyed quotes out and say a couple of things that are really obvious…. Babies…they are cute aren’t they? Kittens, doncha just love em? (Insert popular cause of the week here) is shocking / a disgrace / must be protected / shouldn’t be allowed! It also really, really helps if nobody knows who you are.…
