Propaganda under the cut.
O-Ren Ishii:
O-Ren is a badass who fought for herself her whole life and won until one bad decision came back to haunt her. But we're not talking about that right now. She witnessed her family's murder right in front of her and got the murderer back in glorious fashion, then became the top Yakuza leader despite bigotry. This included decaiptating said bigot. She also mentored the next generation of girlboss and generally gained respect and wealth and made it look easy. Plus she's played by Lucy Liu, what more could you want?
Gwendolyn Poole AKA Gwenpool:
Gwen is transported to the Marvel universe from our world and since she doesn't want to be an "extra" who dies in some disaster decides to become a super hero. Unfortunately she sucks at it and becomes a mercenary instead. She becomes M.O.D.O.K.'s henchman for a while after killing his top henchman. She is seemingly sent home but it turns out it's a plot to contain her and keep her from becoming a super villain in the future. It backfires and gives her the 4th wall breaking powers she uses for villainy in the future. Since she is from our world it took her a while to truly see the people around her as real and not fictional characters, hence becoming a villain in the future. She erases that future when she decides she cares about the characters and doesn't want to become the villain that ruins their lives but in doing so she also erases what would have been many years of comics starring her, so she has a bit of an existential crisis and eventually starts doing more morally ambiguous things again to stay relevant and thus continue to exist.
