EVENT : emergency lockdown
With the island still under attack, all civilians (students, faculty, and island residents) have been assigned a location on the island to shelter in. Location assignments have been sent to each phone. Characters receive only their own assignments, not the entire list.
Most guards have been summoned to fight the attackers; a handful of NPC guards have been assigned to find and deliver lost civilians to their assigned shelters; all player character guards have received orders to collect supplies from designated emergency locations and proceed to an assigned shelter to protect civilians. Guards assigned to the shelters have a list of all civilians assigned to their shelter and are expected to check each of them off on arrival.
Another explosion has left half of the dormitory building collapsed, and the other half quickly following. Characters may have been in the building when it collapsed, and escape plots/injury plots are allowed!
The island is under attack by Delphine Delecaille. While the protections were down, Delphine and many of her people made it onto the island. Among the attackers is a massive purple dragon--characters may witness the dragon flying over the island, breathing fire, but should not come up against it. They may, however, encounter as many NPC attackers of various species as you please on their way to their shelter. Characters can fight and kill NPC attackers without consulting the main and without fear of consequences!
Speaking of journeys to their shelters, your character may take any roundabout journey you like to arrive there, so long as they do, eventually, arrive there. Late arrivals are allowed. Characters may spend up to two (2) days outside of the shelter. After they arrive at the shelter, they will not be allowed out, though characters with teleportation will not be bound.
Characters will not be allowed into shelters they are not assigned to, even in the name of staying with their loved ones assigned there.
While the island is under attack, cell phones on the island are misbehaving. Texts and calls are failing 9 out of 10 times.
The protective spells have been restored, but the binding spell in particular is acting up. Bound slaves may find they have access to their powers in short spurts of up to ten or fifteen minutes at a time.
Keep your eyes peeled for plot drops throughout the event!

One shot of my characters- Fight AU
Hours later, deep into the night, Evander returns. The apartment is dark except a lone lamp turned on, Orion sitting up on the couch, a book in his hand. He’s not reading though, instead, he’s staring out the window at the rain, eyes foggy and far away. His head turns when Evander walks in and a different kind of silence falls over the room. A tense, uncomfortable kind. Evander stares at him, a million thoughts running through his mind at once. He wants to say his name, just to remind himself that he's still there, and that the pain he experienced earlier wasn't merely a product of his imagination. But he bites back the words, unable to say them out loud.
Instead, he looks around the apartment briefly, his eyes taking in the darkness and the silence and the stillness of everything. Then his eyes slowly fall back on Orion, and he stays there, his gaze fixed on him, unmoving. Orion looks back out the window. He doesn’t look any better than before, but he doesn’t look worse either. “How is the case?” He asks, finally breaking the silence."The case?" Evender says, realizing only now how utterly distant from his work his mind had been all night. He'd been preoccupied with thoughts of Orion, and of what he felt when he rejected his help just a few hours ago. There was just something about the way Orion spoke to him earlier, and how hurt and angry and broken he sounded that he could hardly keep himself together.
"The case is fine." he answers weakly, keeping up an unemotional facade. Orion nods. “That’s good ...I'm sorry I can’t be of any help.” He murmurs.
"It doesn't matter." Evander answers curtly, still keeping up the facade. It's almost as though he wants to remain angry at him, to keep up the wall between the two. All so he can avoid feeling vulnerable again, and keep from feeling the way that he did earlier.
“It doesn’t, does it?” Orion responds quietly, still not looking at Evander. “I suppose you don’t need my help. Not really anyways.” He murmurs."No," Evander says firmly.
In his mind, he wants to say so much more to the angel, but he's scared. Scared that if he gives anything away he'll break down and show him everything. All the twisted, broken pieces of him that he's kept hidden for so long, so he keeps the pretense up, for both of their sakes. "I don't need your help."
Orion smiles bitterly. “I’m sorry I’m not more useful like Ambrose was,” Evander reels at the sudden name drop of his friend ( he refused to refer to him in the past tense).” I know I’m not a good replacement for him. A bit too moody…” Orion mutters, looking down at the book in his hands. The bags under his eyes seem to have grown. Evanders lips curl into a grimace at this, and he feels a flash of pain shoot through his heart. His walls begin to waver and he feels himself teetering on the brink of losing control for the second time tonight. "Don't," is all he manages to say. Orion looks over at him for the first time since he walked in. “It’s true though. He died a long time ago and you’ve never truly moved on. Sometimes I see you turn to someone who isn’t there, or say his name during the night. It makes me wonder how often you wish you could trade me for him….” He murmurs, smiling softly, the smile not reaching his eyes.
Evanders hands begin to tremble at this, and he's so close to breaking down and admitting everything. But he's not quite there yet. He swallows and holds back the urge to speak the words he wishes he could say to him.
"Shut up," he manages to spit out, and there's a surprising amount of bitterness and anger in his voice as he says that. Orion nods, Evander’s words like an admission of the fact. “I thought so.” He says, still smiling. The fever has made him slightly delirious. “I find myself comparing myself to him even though I’ve never met the man. I wonder if you ever carried him when he was sick, or if you added ‘dear’ to his name like mine…” he murmured, looking out the window again.
“And then, of course, he died for you, which I can never even dream of living up to.” Orion says, laughing bitterly, the sound seeming to echo in Evanders ears as the image of Ambrose dying came back to him in full force. It had been a thousand years and yet Evander couldn't forget, no matter how hard he tried.”
"Shut. Up," is all Evander manages to get out again, but his voice is wavering heavily now. It's only a matter of time before he completely breaks down, and the realization causes him to want to hide behind his walls and push Orion away even more firmly, but he's getting far too close to truths he's not yet mentally capable of admitting.
“I know you loved him.” Orion says quietly, the silence afterwards becoming deafening. “I can’t imagine how difficult it was to see him die…”
Even though Evander had been able to keep himself composed through some of Orion’s harder-hitting remarks, this one causes him to come unraveled, his world melting away to that one moment in time where he lost everything. His breathing gets sharper and his eyes have become misty as he glares at Orion, though he's trying desperately to keep them clear.
"You have no idea...."
Orion shrugs, looking back out the window and watching the rain fall. “I do know though, that's the thing. I know how difficult and painful falling in love can be. Especially with someone you can’t ever be with. It’s not your fault Evander. And it’s not your fault you’d choose him over me a million times over.” He says. This comment causes the dam to finally break, and Evander is unable to hold back any longer. His face contorts into sorrow and pain. His hands are clenched in fists and his breathing becomes sharp and shallow. He takes a few steps towards the angel and stares down at him, the beginnings of tears running down his cheeks.
"Please stop," he pleads between breaths,to broken to hide behind his anger anymore. He can't imagine Orion saying any more,, doesn't want to imagine him saying any more. The cruel, pointed words like poison to his soul but Orion doesn't stop.
“Sometimes, I wonder if I’d even be here if he hadn't died.” He chuckled. “This has been life changing for me, but has it even slightly impacted you? I don’t think so. I’m just…Orion to you.”
Evanders breath catches in his throat when it's put like that. To hear him, to see his pain, and to know that he's right about everything.
This isn't fair.
This isn't fair at all.
And he knows the angel is right that he's chosen Ambrose over him millions of times already... and that he would do it millions more.
Instead of denying any of it, he just bites back the words he wishes he could say and instead says, "You're being cruel."
Orion nods. “I know. I can’t help it. I’m not a very nice person. Not really a person at all. It's hard to gauge humanity when I'm not even human,” he murmurs, smiling sadly. “I’m sorry.” He offers, though there's no emotion behind his words.
Evander wanted to hit him. He wanted to yell and scream and throw things at the angel. He wanted to make him hurt like Orion hurt him…but one look at those eyes, the same eyes that Ambrose had, and all his rage melted away.
“I’m tired, Evander, but I can’t sleep. What should I do?”Orion said suddenly, apparently done with his verbal and emotional beat down.
Evander was still feeling emotionally drained from all of the harsh words beforehand, but he can't deny the ache in his heart when the man in front of him shows weakness. That's the other thing that makes it impossible for him to resist the man in front of him. Though he tries, he has no defense against the softness of his heart.
He finally comes over and sits beside Orion on the couch, taking his hand as he answers the question, his voice low and reassuring. "Close your eyes."
Orion looks at him curiously. “I just hurt you to your very core on purpose. You’re far from a saint, Evander, why help me? I don’t want it.” Evander raises his brow at his words, and there's a brief moment where he considers standing and walking away. Going back to acting as he was just now. Unemotional and uncaring. But then... he remembers how much Orion must be hurting right now and it's impossible for that to sit right with him. Orion may have hurt him deeply, but he can't let him go through this alone.
"It doesn't matter," is all he says, "close your eyes."
Orion looks at him for a moment longer before his eyes flutter closed. When his eyes are closed, Evander’s hands move to the back of his head, pressing it gently against his shoulder. He sighs, feeling Orion lean against him for support as he speaks.
"Just breathe in slowly... and count to three... and then breathe out... and count to three. Just repeat that. Breathe in... one... two... three... breathe out... one... two... three... just keep like that. Keep your eyes closed." Orion does so and eventually he starts to drift off. “I’m tired…of being…a replacement.” He manages before falling asleep against Evander’s shoulder.
