I’m so sad we didn’t get the sequel to Pirates! In an Adenture with scientists. We deserve that adventure with cowboys :( we could have had it all but ppl didn’t turn up for the movie
I noticed in the beginning of watching Pirates! Band of Misfits on Hulu that the voice for Albuno pirate isn’t Anton yelchin and the subtitles don’t match at certain phrases like girl guides/girl scouts.
And now they changed one of the callbacks in the movie! In the version I watched the hot air balloon at the science competition is a “real lady magnet” BUT in the Hulu version
It’s for looking down lady’s tops
And the IMAGE of looking at a lady’s top from the air balloon in that scene is NOT in the first version I watched
I wanted to create something to mark my favorite fiction podcasts from the past year, and it also gave me a chance to play with different lineart colors! Thank you to all the creators out there keeping their listeners sane through all the world’s craziness!
If you liked Our flag means death you're gonna love this. The Pirates and the crew of the Revenge would be besties.
Also......
I spent half the movie wondering if there was any chance Pirate Captain and the Pirate with the Scarf/Number Two (😭why no names?😭) would end up together and then he suspiciously goes and asks him if he's a woman dressed up as a man
DONT REVERSE-MULAN IT YOU COWARDS MAKE THEM GAY
There was literally a girl-boy pirate that I thought would be important to the plot or something(idk love interest?) but my girl-boy just chilled for real
But he asks Number two if he's a girl after they hug. WHY HUH
If I had a nickel for every time there was an Aardman film with a female antagonist whose main goal was to behead a bird & the climax of said film has the protagonist clinging to a rope mid-air I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
I think I have to thank ‘The Pirates! In an Adventure with SCIENTISTS!’ for creating a strong foundation for my morals and beliefs in life, i.e. piracy good, monarchy bad, and don’t throw away yoghurt pots — they make excellent containers for small plants.
