What is a Dog?
Playing around with Dall-E 3. It has some very impressive coherence but I think we're going to see the leapfrogging happen pretty quick.
But to play with that coherence, especially around text, I asked it to make me:
Prompt: a four-panel comic. a cute kid-sized velociraptor dinosaur trying to figure out what a dog is. Cute and quirky.
The results are beautifully surreal. Some examples in varying levels of weirdness:
Tumblr media
This is the closest one to land near an actual idea (by chance, it's still a pareidolia engine), as our dinosaur seems to spot a dog, sees that there's both a dog and and anthro dog, and then has an existential crisis.
Tumblr media
This cute little guy with the nostril-sized mouth is taken in by an inconsistent dog, but doesn't know what it does.
Tumblr media
"is this a dog?" "What things' a dog?" "What's its quality?" AI's comin' for the anticomedy first.
Tumblr media
Robot's like "screw the dinosaurs, I want to explore the Goofy/Pluto conundrum"
And this one's a different prompt entirely, but dang I love how it messed up here
(Prompt: a four-panel comic featuring a humanoid velociraptor in 80s clothing dancing, then tripping, and being embarrassed)
Tumblr media
Skip, trip... emrrrrassed indeed.
These images are unmodified and were not adjusted with extensive iteration or other methods, as such they do not meet the minimum human creativity threshold, and are in the public domain,

Gift art, of a sort, for @reachartwork , who's been getting some absolutely horrible hate messages recently. I scrambled and ciphered anon's screed and then turned the resulting nonsense text into a prompt. This grim grinner and the bluegreen Circle of Protection Against Haters were the most interesting things to bubble up from the chaos soup.
Rage Against the Machines - AI imagery by Rukuruku via SDXL
These images are raw AI output without significant iteration or other human intervention, and therefore public domain.

now more like praying mantises. and more colorful
Tumblr media
[ID: A digital drawing of a colorful alien who looks like a giant insect, with a similar body plan to a praying mantis, with four lower legs and two upper arms, with a green body that is solid green for the head, green with large red spots and a stripes for the thorax, and green striped with yellow, with smaller red spots for the abdomen. The limbs are paler yellow, with red stripes at each joint, and red feet. The eyes are faceted and light purple, with yellow curved antenne that end in three curled appendages. End ID.]
public domain alien species, altered by me to be more shaped like a centaur because it's fun. This version is also public domain because that's also fun.
Originally from the story The Attack from Space by Sterner St. Paul Meek, written in 1930. They're from Mercury, so they're originally called Mercurians.

Prescription Medications as Pokemon via NijiJourney
I found a list of the 15 most advertised (in the US, obviously) prescription drugs of 2015 and turned them into pokemon via NiniJourney (the Midjourney anime/manga specific model) v6, and the following base prompt:
full color illustration of the pokemon (drug name here) , official art, bulbapedia, fullbody, white background, gen 6
Most were iterated multiple times, a few were given minor edits to erase extraneous nonsense parts or touch up the color saturation/tone. Tried to keep the plant-types and the "basically a lady" types to a few examples each, something the robot resisted.
Nothing to get anywhere near what I'd consider the minimal expression threshold, so public domain all around.
May post promising spares as a separate post. Might not, dunno.
