I loveeee coming back to my parent's house after everything. I feel so safe here in a sense that I can be myself fully without any efforts to being perfect. My mother has fully come to peace with the fact that I'm not an exactly tidy person. She doesn't push me to arrange the clutter on the dresser top or fold my laundry or spread the sheets and that's very refreshing. I don't really like staying over at people's houses because I get this overwhelming urge to be perfect for them and it just keeps me on edge because I don't want to get in their space and mess it up. Like, I'll never feel comfortable sitting in your living room because I might just spill the red hibiscus punch you served me on your pristine Turkish rug, or feel any less pressure hanging out in your bedroom because smooth tucked sheets unnerve me. Yeah.
