A confession

When I was young I tended to draw black people even more than I do now, mostly because I was in love with clothes/aesthetics that some black characters would be represented, their cool voices, and of course, colors.

But then, when I got to elementary school, many people called me by names that I didn't understand at the time, now I know that they referred to me as a racist person...

For most of I remember from my 10-year-old self, many kids told me more than just that my drawings of black characters were ugly, they occasionally point me on my own face that the clothes were not from true black people, that their faces were too anime looking and not round like real black people, and of course, that the skin color was wrong.

Must I remind you, I was like 8-10 at the time, and so, many of the kids that told me those things (so I don't think that they actually know what they were saying, they probably just copy their parents)

But still, it scare me at times because some kids that I thought were my friends (DUMB YOUNG ME) used to stole my drawings to show them to older students that were in fact black, when the older kids started laughing at my drawings because

"That's not how a black person looks"

"That is a shitty drawing"

"Do you kids really think we look like that?"

I throw all those drawings away or just tear them up like the fragile paper they were.

It didn't take long until my parents discover what was happening, but they couldn't take any action... We were suffering from a badly economic problem trying to pay for a small house, but the efforts were not enough, and so, they were working 24/7 just to maintain me and my little sister in proper schools.

I own them a lot for that.

If my grandfather had not given us the house he had in the middle of construction, my whole family would continue to live a nightmare. Of course, my father and some friends finished the house in a year, which meant moving time.

I was scared at first, I was in a new town, a new school, and I didn't know anyone. But we now had a proper home and my parents didn't have to work long hours, and that make me happy!

My luck did not change a lot, but it was not bad... And I'm glad about that too.

Thank you for reading my confession and I'm sorry if it looks crappy, but I had to take this out of my chest for a while.

Stop Gaza Genocide is a google doc that is constantly updated, which includes how to contact representatives, how to protest, and various activist resources (US centric)

Samidoun provides a constantly updating calendar of protests, and you can submit ones not listed if there’s a protest happening near you (Global)

UNRWA and Care for Gaza are orgs that directly provide general aid and food

Lastly, while not inherently about Palestine, I do want to encourage everyone reading this that If you see a post regarding Palestine- a video, a photo, a livestream, a text post- Archive it with the Wayback Machine. When digital information is prone to deletion and censorship, we cannot afford to lose something as valuable as knowledge.

I can’t do that; which is why I’m asking you to. #also: a bunch of tags are surprised this isn’t ‘shopped #it’s the lighting. backlit by the sun (which is diffused through the water) but also forelit artificially #the artificial light - a flash pack or something - casts a hard shadow under the creatures arm #which normally wouldn’t be possible if backlit by the SUN; you’d see a less-hard/more-fragmented shadow above water #as light sources ‘compete’ in a sense - and since there aren’t any light sources which can outshine the literal sun #it looks a bit weird when the darkest shadow is being cast from any other origin point - which is what’s essentially happening here #I don’t know the mechanics of how light travels through water; but I know the effect is substantial even with relatively short distances #also: it’s been balanced and color corrected by the author of the photo - who made deliberate choices to bring out the full potential #so it’s not like it’s a fresh and untouched export #but the kind of ‘tacked on’ appearance of the creature is a result of the lighting conditions within the image

how do you come up with your prompts?

I’ll be honest, most of it is just off the top of my head. I’ve read a lot of fiction and books, and I’ve watched a lot of TV the more things you engage with the more you have to pull from to get an idea.

this can work with anything want to make a horror game? Play a bunch, figure out what you do and don’t like and then you’ll have a basis for what kind of game you want to make.

Here’s the VTuber model I’ll be using btw, I know I’ve mentioned wanting to do YouTube before, I can rig decently enough so we’ll see what happens when I’m done with this one.

Oh copy/paste and desktop Tumblr, how I've missed you so XDD

I'm still unable to sit at my desk for as long as I'd like to.. but I can sit long enough to draw some comics here and there at least! One of which being a (somewhat) angsty comic with Grim and V! Did you really think they escaped my angst curse?? It was only a matter of time before I cursed them as well! XDD

But for real, I've wanted to draw something angsty with Grim and V for a while now. And I'm glad I was finally able to! Even if its kind'aaa more of a goofy comic with angsty undertones rather than full on angst. XDD

The more I draw these two, the more lore I start to build in the background... I wonder if I should explore Grim's more serious angst sometime.. 😈😈
