writing wikipedia poetry is so interesting. like. you’re sifting through humankind’s collective knowledge. making meaning by juxtaposing rote facts. it’s the natural conclusion of the idea that poetry is meaning derived from everyday experiences. my hands are touching the same stars i’ve seen every night of my life and creating new, beautiful constellations out of them. it’s lovely.

I finished another wikipedia poem! This one is titled Cemetery Prairie. I hope I managed to do the ideas in this one justice; I'm definitely not the expert on Native American experiences, I'm just someone who wrote (compiled? synthesized?) a poem.

An attempt at that Wikipedia poem format popularised by @headspace-hotel . Take care all.
Take care may refer to:
Fruit used for socializing and gift-giving in the form of fruit baskets and fruit bouquets.
A couple holds hands on their fiftieth anniversary.
Organ transplant networks, sperm and blood banks.
Charity and alms giving.
Gifting as non-commodified exchange in market societies.
2021: Give blood and keep the world beating.
a voluntary act of an individual or group freely giving time and labour for community service.
An expression of piety, in the form of charity.
And expression of solidarity, in the form of mutual aid.
To share wealth.
To offset misfortune.
Offering travel souvenirs.
New communication technologies such as cellular phone plans make communication among individuals at a distance easier
Cross-species friendships are common between humans and domestic animals. Cross-species friendships may also occur between two non-human animals, such as cats and dogs.
What It Means IS
Thank you for saving my life

Unknowability, and the Big, and the Small

A wikipedia poem (a la @headspace-hotel) that may or may not make sense about scales of human understanding of big things that was brought on by a bout of cosmic perspective when learning about the life cycles of stars.

My intrusive thoughts: “Hey, maybe the fact that your University graduate parents wanted you and planned for you was a sign that you weren’t actually a soul which needed to be here. Maybe that’s why you don’t intuitively understand yourself and your likes and dislikes. God didn’t push through to put you here, he just conceded to one-and-a-half mortals’ demands. Maybe that’s why you can’t stand the thought of who your “true self” could possibly be. Maybe that’s why you’re meant to be just a faceless member of society.”
My agnostic thoughts: “Or maybe you’re just tired and hungry and mad at everyone and dehydrated and about to start your period.”

Norwegian poem from 1936:
"Du må ikke sitte trygt i ditt hjem og si: Det er sørgelig, stakkars dem! Du må ikke tåle så inderlig vel den urett som ikke rammer dig selv! Jeg roper med siste pust av min stemme: Du har ikke lov til å gå der og glemme!"
English translation:
"You must not sit safely in your home and say: It's terrible, poor them! You must not stand so incredibly well the injustice that doesn't affect yourself! I shout with the last breath of my voice: You are not allowed to walk around and forget!"
