When opening to the first chapter of your military history book causes you to exclaim, "He's a Twink!," you know you are in for a wild ride.

I read this book in my History MA program. It literally made me sit down and go woah in a way few books have. They Were her Property totally obliterates popular mythologies surrounding white Southern women and exposes the pervasive atrocities of slavery and the casual brutality of the system. I recommend it 100%.
White women are the reason the Confederacy is looked at all romantic

I'm doing my first playthrough of Jedi: Fallen Order and I'm pleased that they are rectifying one longstanding criticism I had of the Star Wars universe: a lack of everyday interactions with music. With the exception of the cantina band, Ezra's habit of whistling, and a couple instances of Zeb listening to the radio in Rebels, most of the characters seem to have little to do with music. As the various cultures are so steeped in lore and legends, the omission seemed strange, as all societies have their own musical traditions that factor into life. Therefore, it would seem obvious that different forms of folk music or some other form of musical expression/enjoyment would be present in Star Wars, yet it seems to be the exception. I was thus delighted to see Cal playing an instrument for no other reason than he just wanted to for fun. This is the type of world-building I hope to see more of in future projects.
