I love being in college because there are no actual adults around so everyone is just going around bullshitting their way through basic tasks. Like I can be like “I think I got better from my cold because I ate an orange yesterday” and everyone is like “Yeah makes sense” and somebody could just be like “I’m gonna put my pillow in the washing machine to clean it” and everyone’s like “Sounds like a great idea John”

Pastels, why won’t you let me love you

Stages of me working in pastel:

1. Gross weird rough but ok this is the beginning

2. Hey this is cool and sort of art already maybe I should stop

3. Oh no now I finished this little piece a little more and that’s definitely cooler, make the rest match

4. Oh god where did green come from I didn’t use green

5. It’s all grey

6. It’s all purple

7. Oh no it’s all okay again nearly done

8. Oh this is bad stop overworking

9. Stop I said you’re overworking it

10. Who are you whose hand is this why are you still doing this

11. Dinner time you have to stop everyone is exhausted and dripping

why is “olde vampires in high school” the big thing and not “olde vampires in college”

everyone in college is eccentric. everyone

you wanna wear full on Victorian suit? the girl in pajamas who clearly hasn’t slept in three days supports you

everyone is too preoccupied to care as long as you’re polite and follow class etiquette

multiple high school diplomas? eh. same stuff. multiple BAs? Enjoy learning chemistry AND art history! All in detail!

wandering around campus at 3am? that’s just the lifestyle tm

no matter how old or young you look it’s not really that weird, there’s sixteen year olds and sixty year olds doing BAs somewhere

big schools are very anonymous so nobody’s gonna bother to hassle you

Writers...

We will cry, complain, and laugh in the face of anyone who asks, “What is your story about?”

Its something that is so common among us that we make jokes about it and state that the reason why Authors don’t write the synopsis on the back of the book because if the author could tell the story in a paragraph then they wouldn’t have written the whole book.

HOWEVER

When we meet other writers, all that goes away and we tend to feel comfortable explaining out stories and story process long into the night with each other.

Its a sense of belonging that i quite like.  when someone feels that i’m companion enough to tell their story to. 

I love you all who make art with the fickle words we are given to use!
