Hello everyone! You may have noticed the recent relative inactivity of Autistics Unmasked’s social media accounts. Because AU has an all-volunteer team, we understand that the members of our team have other obligations that come first, on top of most of us being in a perpetual state of burnout, and it can be difficult to keep up with the demands of our organization. AU is also currently running on zero funding, making it harder to achieve the aspirations of the organization.
Because of these things, Autistics Unmasked has been at a standstill, and we have decided on an official indefinite hiatus of AU. During this time we will still be searching for funding and accepting donations to help kickstart new projects, pay our current team for their hard work, and eventually onboard new members. Thank you for your support of Autistics Unmasked thus far! We wouldn’t be where we are today without this incredible community. If you would like to support our fundraising efforts, our Gofundme page will be linked below.

Question for other autistic people: There are still so many misconceptions and stigma surrounding autism. What’s one misconception about autism that you wish people would stop perpetuating or believing in?

How do you think the concept of cognitive liberty relates to the transautistic experience?
Hi!
I don’t know enough about this topic to be able to form an opinion on it, and I cannot speak for trans autistic people. I’m sorry!

Are you interested in helping create a new research study? The FACE Lab at Emerson College is launching a new study on intersectionality in autism.
They are looking for autistic adults from a wide range of racial, ethnic, gender, and cultural backgrounds to record brief videos for our study. These videos will be used to learn more about how different aspects of identity influence how we are perceived by others.
Participation involves one half-hour, recorded, interaction with a member of their research team via Zoom. The FACE Lab will provide you with a $10 Amazon gift card to compensate you for your time.
If you are interested, please complete this short form and they will reach out to you. The deadline to fill out this form is March 31st. If have any further questions about this project, the google form has a section for you to ask them.
