Night Sickness

The low volume of the TV spoke throughout the dark living room but singular occupant paid no mind to it, simply lost in thought and dozing off quietly. But that peacefulness was quickly interrupted by the front door of the house opening, light flooding through.
A groan came from the couch as the intruder apologized quickly. “Sorry dear, I didn’t think you’d be out here.”
Walking over to his girlfriend on the couch, Wukong grabbed the remote and shut off the television. “I thought I told you to rest?” He mused.
“I am,” Y/n retorted with a small sniffle escaping her. Blankets piled on top of her to rival the height of Flower Fruit Mountain.
“I meant in bed. Asleep,” Wukong gave her a look that almost spoke his mind directly, *Don’t play coy*.
“That got boring, I’ve been sleeping all day!” Y/n complained, rolling over on the couch so now her back was almost all the way on top of the arm rest.
Wukong merely smiled down at her and grabbed her face in between both his palms. Leaning down, he gave Y/n quick pecks all around her face, from her forehead to her nose and cheekbones to her mouth and chin.
Laughter found it’s way into both of the couples voices. “Aren’t you worried you’ll get sick?” Y/n asked when Wukong finally parted.
He simply held her face and stared into her eyes longingly. “Love, I’m immortal a thousand fold over. A little sickness won’t do a thing to me. Plus, nothing will ever stop me from loving you dear.”

Birthday Night
Hello! This is a birthday gift for my pookie wookie even tho her bday was a few days ago <3 Love youuuuu

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sound of the front door shutting echoed throughout the calm house. Shoes kicked off and sat cozily in the entryway, and coats hung from the hooks near the door. Sighing, Y/n threw off her shoes and placed her scarf and coat next to each other on the hooks. She had just gotten done with being dragged from place to place all around the city by her best friends, Mk and Mei, for her birthday celebration. Now she was finally home late at night and genuinely ready to collapse. Slowly, Y/n shuffled her way into the kitchen, the warm smell of sweets wafting around her. A smile graced her features when she walked into the room to find her boyfriend hard at work decorating a cake and not noticing her come in. Not wanting to disturb him, Y/n leaned on the doorframe tiredly and listened to the mumbling coming from her partner.
Soon enough, Y/n realized he would never figure out she was standing behind him. “Redson?” She asked gently, not wanting to scare her boyfriend. But her efforts were in vain, as the boy jumped in surprise and whipped around to face his love. “Oh Y/n! I didn’t think you’d be back so soon.” He spoke nervously, trying (and failing) to hide the cake behind him. “What do you have there?” The young woman asked, gesturing behind Redson. “Nothing! Nothing at all, haha!” His actions betrayed his words. A doubtful look placed itself on Y/n’s expression. Letting out a defeated sigh, Redson noticed it was time to show her anyway. Stepping out of the way, he let her see the cake he put his heart into making.
The art on the cake couldn’t be described in words. It rivaled those of Van Gogh or Da Vinci. The icing depicted Redson, Y/n, and all their friends sitting on a couch and watching Y/n’s favorite show, Toon Quest. Awe filled her eyes when she saw it. The decoration was so detailed that she couldn’t form words to express her admiration and joy. Y/n turned to Redson, seeing him waiting for her reaction. All she could do in the moment was wrap her arms around him in a tight hug. Not being one for physical touch, Redson would’ve shoved her off and reminded her coldly how he hated touch. But something about the way Y/n held him, the way she spoke to him, the way she looked at him, the ways she’d acknowledge him and let him be heard, the way she loved. He wouldn’t even dare move her, slowly putting his arms around her too.
The duo stood like that for a bit before Y/n pulled away, still smiling. Redson smiled back before remembrance struck him. “Oh, I got you a gift. Sit down, please.” He told her as he walked to the living room, returning a few seconds later with a small box. Y/n found her spot at the circular dinner table and waited patiently. Her partner sat down across from her and slid the box over. “Go ahead, open it.” A glimmer of anticipation was dancing through his eyes. Y/n quickly opened it, excited to see the present. When she got the wrapping paper off, a pure white box was left. Taking off the lid, Y/n carefully lifted a small wooden box from within and set it on the table. She gracefully opened up the wooden box as music began to move in the air. A soft tune, almost like a kalimba, of Ladyfingers wafted elegantly throughout the room. Astonishment rang through Y/n’s face as she watched two small figurines spin in a circle at the center of the box. The figures were dressed in formal wear, but she could immediately recognize them as her and Redson waltzing. On the inside of the box’s cover was a photo of the couple. The very first photo they took together. It was the two of them on top of a nearby skyscraper, watching the sunset. As the music began to come to a close, so did the night.
Redson stood up and held his hand out to his lover. “May we?”
“We may.” Y/n accepted his hand as he brought her to the living room, grabbing two pieces of cake on the way. Redson quickly switched on the television and put on the newest episodes of Toon Quest. They settled down on the couch, both with a piece of cake in their laps, and snuggled close. Y/n leaned on Redson that it looked like they belonged in a jigsaw puzzle. The light of the TV cast a soft glow in the unlit room.
“Happy birthday, dear.”
Fake Proposals
“This is such a bad idea.”
"Oh, c'mon, Peach! It’s free food!”
“If it works, which it probably won’t,” Y/n explained to her boyfriend, "plus, aren’t you a demon? Can you not just disguise yourself and steal the food?”
“Where’s the fun in that? Have some faith, Peaches!” Wukong encouraged, wrapping his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder. He held Y/n tight and guided her into the high-class restaurant that stood tall in front of them. Wukong let go of Y/n, to his dismay, so he could hold the door open for her. He may be an egotistical demon, but he knows how to treat the love of his immortal life.
Y/n smiled at her partner’s kind gesture, “Thank you, love,” and entered the small entrance of the restaurant. When Wukong entered, his hand instantly found its way to Y/n’s, holding her in a tight yet gentle grip. The couple stood near the host stand, waiting for a server to come to seat them. They stood there for around five minutes until Wukong started getting impatient. His foot was tapping rapidly on the ground, and his tail was swaying, brushing Y/n’s leg every few passes. Noticing this, Y/n lightly squeezed his hand in a few pulses. Her eyes watched as Wukong’s tail slowed its sways and his foot stopped tapping.
Smiling softly, the young woman cast a glance at her boyfriend. She saw how he was looking around, trying to spot any servers standing around. Eventually, someone who looked like a hostess walked up to them.
“I am so sorry for making you wait! I was told someone would cover me when I’m on break, but I guess not,” the girl, who looked the same age as Y/n, spoke quickly. Y/n observed how the girl kept taking glances at Wukong, each one longer than the last. Normally, Y/n wouldn’t mind people looking at her boyfriend; he was a demon after all, but this girl had a different emotion in her expression. Y/n read the girl’s name tag and couldn’t help but notice how much the girl looked like Y/n. ‘Analise’, was the name carved into the metal tag. “That’s ok, my boyfriend and I would just like a couple table. Please,” Y/n spoke through a strained smile, moving closer to Wukong.
Wukong, somehow, didn’t take notice of the way Analise stared at him or how Y/n moved closer. “Right away,” Analise glared at Y/n before turning and guiding them to a nearby table made for two. As they walked, Y/n gripped Wukong’s hand tighter. She could see from her peripheral view when her boyfriend looked down at their hands and looked at her face. Y/n looked at him when he mouthed a question, ‘You okay?’. Now that Wukong knew she saw him, Y/n couldn’t ignore the question. Looking at Analise, who was still walking in front of the two, Y/n let out a sigh and shook her head, ‘No’. Wukong’s eyes held hers, filled with sympathy and understanding, and simply nodded. It didn’t take long for them to reach a two-person table in the center of the restaurant. Y/n smiled when she saw the mischievous grin spread across her lover’s lips.
“Here you are, sir... and ma’am,” Analise finished her sentence with resentment. Hearing this, Y/n gave the worker a tight, sour smile before sitting down across from her partner. Analise left the couple to view their menus and choose the food. Scanning the options, Y/n paused when she felt a foot tapping hers. Looking up, she was met with Wukong’s iconic smirk. “So, my dear Y/n was jealous of some random girl?” His tone was laced with tease as he smiled at her. Y/n rolled her eyes and softly kicked her demon lover, a small smile forming on her lips as she looked away to hide it. “Shut up, just stick to the plan, ok?” The young woman spoke through her embarrassment, still not meeting Wukong’s eyes.
Y/n heard his chuckle and the shuffling of fabric. Looking up, she watched as her boyfriend pulled a small black box from his pocket and set it on the table with a mischievous grin. The two looked around, trying to see if any staff was nearby to see the plan in action. “I think that’s the manager right there,” Y/n discreetly pointed to a man standing about a table or two away. Looking back to her partner, Y/n nodded to him with him doing the same in response. Clearing his throat to gain nearby attention, Wukong stood up and took the box. Walking over to Y/n, he knelt in front of her. She could see a glimmer in his eyes as emotions danced like lightning on his expression.
“Y/n M/n L/n, we have been through thick and thin together. I can’t even fathom how you could survive with someone like me and yet you do it anyways. You have always meant the most to me; the flame to my candle, the moon to my sun, the rainbow to my cloud. I can’t explain in words how much you mean to me, it’s simply impossible. You deserve everything in this whole messed-up universe and I will make it my goal to deliver it all to you. Anything you want, it’s yours. I’m lost without you, Peach. I want to be your crutch, your support; the one you rely on when you can’t even rely on yourself. I may not understand everything but I will do anything to let you show me. I am willing to change anything just for you to glance at me. The longing I get when you have to leave from a date or when I can’t look at you for even a moment. Your eyes, your hair, your cheeks, your nose, your arms, your everything. I love every little detail about yourself. All your flaws are gone, you never had any to begin with. I know you might not be able to see yourself the way I see you but I want to let you even get at least a glimpse of how I see you. You are so perfect to me that even the stars moon and sun envy you. You shine your light of kindness and care to anyone, proving anyone can be themself around you. I feel so safe with you and I want you to feel that around me. Y/n M/n L/n, I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I will do anything to make you mine. So, what do you say?”
Shock and embarrassment overwhelmed Y/n. She had expected some cheesy speech, but the way he said it and the way his eyes glowed. Y/n knew he meant every single word and it left her speechless. Her mouth opened slightly, trying to say something but no words or sounds came out. Wukong held an expectant look like he didn’t think this whole spiel would catch you off guard. The whole restaurant was looking at the two of you. The suspense was thick in the air and even the blind could see the anticipation. Finally, Y/n found her voice.
“Yes,” She whispered before making her voice audible, “yes! 100 times yes!” Wukong stood up and brought her up with him before picking Y/n up and spinning her around. Laughter echoed from them as the restaurant erupted into cheers and applause. A huge smile graced both the couple's faces when Wukong slid the ring onto Y/n's ring finger. The duo hugged tightly before feeling a hand on both their shoulders, it was the manager. At first, they thought their plan had been a success until the manager pointed to an extremely small sign across the room that read, ‘NO ROMANCE ON PREMISE!’. “Well, that’s ironic.”
Now walking hand in hand down the dark street, Y/n and Wukong just talked. “I wanted that free food,” Y/n complained. “I know Peach, but I can just steal some food from Pizza Hut or something if you would like,” her boyfriend shrugged. Pausing in her steps, Y/n looked at Wukong with an ‘Are you serious?’ expression. “What?” “Why didn’t you just do that earlier before we got kicked out?!” Y/n exclaimed to her clueless boyfriend. “I…uhhh….” Wukong stumbled on his words, trying to find a reason before Y/n found the truth. “Wait a second,” Y/n spoke, a smirk forming on her face and turning to her lover, “did you just do all this so you could propose to me but not officially?” Wukong was looking everywhere but his girlfriend now and not answering her question. Y/n smiled softly at her flustered partner before taking his face in her palms and giving Wukong a soft kiss on the cheek, ruffling the fur atop his head when she leaned back. Y/n chuckled a little before she turned and kept walking, leaving a stunned Monkey King behind her.
Drabbles/Mini oneshots with Ink Mk x Reader
Words: 595
Published: 29-1-2024
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Playful arguing with a plot twist-
“You are literally a pile of ink; what do you know about movies?”
“More than you, obviously, only mid people think that Pedro Pascal is hot.”
“I AM NOT MID!! I AM LITERALLY UN-MID!!”
“YOU ARE SO MID RIGHT NOW; PEDRO PASCAL IS NOT DADDY!”
“WHAT DO YOU KNOW? YOU ARE INK! PEDRO PASCAL IS THE HOTTEST MOST ATTRACTIVE GUY EVER!”
“HE IS OLD ENOUGH TO BE YOUR FATHER!”
That’s how Y/n’s day was going; arguing with her oddball of a friend if Pedro Pascal was hot or not. Y/n was dead set that he was hotter than the sun, and Ink Mk, or Ink, was not having it.
“Bro, you are so delusional that you’re going to die from it.”
“YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS YOU AREN'T AS HOT AS HIM!!”
“I’m jealous he is getting your attention and I’m not.”
“…”
“…”
“what”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who needs movie/play tickets when you can have your inky friend act it all out?-
“M’lady, I seem to need a partner for this scene. Would you care to join?” Ink turned towards her, and he extended his hand in a gentlemanly fashion.
“What scene?” Y/n asked, taking his hand and standing up from her seat. Ink pulled her close to his body. For being just a pile of sentient ink, he gave off comforting body heat.
“Oh, you know, a scene.” Ink smirked slyly. He positioned themselves in a waltz stance. He had a few of his ink companions conjure up some instruments and begin to play a classical waltz.
“A waltz? Ink, I have no idea how to dance!”
“Then let me teach you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ink longing for Y/n’s attention-
“Sweetheart~”
There he is again, trying to distract you like he has tried all day. What’s up with him today?
“Y/n~”
His voice was growing more tense by the second.
“Y/n!”
You finally set the book down beside you on the couch. You looked down to see Ink laying on your lap.
“What?”
“Hi.”
“….”
Unbelievable; he annoys you for who knows how long. Just for a “Hi”?!
You gave him a stern glare, and he just chuckled at your reaction.
“You’re so cute when you’re angry~” He reached an inky hand up and patted your cheek. A barely visible blush of embarrassment coated your cheeks. You pushed his hand away and went to grab your book again.
But as you were about to start reading again, you felt a face press into your stomach. A heavy blush replaced the barely visible blush on your face.
You looked down immediately to see your inky friend having his face pressed into your abdomen. He moved his head slightly to look at you, a large smirk evident on his face.
“What- What are you doing?” You swallowed a lump in your throat, trying to confine the butterflies that were swarming in your stomach.
“Getting comfy. Why?” Ink replied innocently, as if he wasn’t doing this on purpose.
“Could you- um- get comfy somewhere else?” Talking was getting a tad harder; it was difficult to breathe with all these butterflies.
"Mmmm, no thanks; I’m comfy here.” He knew exactly what he was doing.
“O- Oh. Um-“ Your face was flushed red, and you were starting to burn up, like you had a fever.
Ink saw this, and it only prompted him to nuzzle closer into you.
Almost as if in autopilot, your body stood up and walked away to your room, making Ink fall off your legs and the couch.
“Hey!”

Caine:

He is an ai, he doesn’t have “Respond to flirts” in his code
…..yet….
Anyways, he probably starts lagging and just stares
On the occasion he doesn’t glitch/lag out, he will either..
1. Run away
2. Laugh cause he doesn’t know what else to do
3. Flirt back
Bubble:
pops
Kinger:
Kinger is…….Kinger…
He is a tough one because he only has one reaction
Ya know that scene where Jax goes “They’re the two most mentally stable. Characters to be paired together” and Kinger starts lagging basically?
Yeaaahhhh that’s his reaction to your flirts
Bro starts tweaking
Gangle:
If you flirt with Gangle she will either combust in being flustered or be overcome by giggles, probably the second one
I know you’ve seen those TikTok’s of Gangle being one of those stereotypical anime obsessed girls
Just imagine that’s her with you
She is like obsessed
And you’re flirty too?
You are in for a rough ride, unless you like someone obsessing over you and making bad anime art of you🤷‍♀️
Zooble:
Bro does not care at all(They do!)
They will act all unfazed and annoyed, but they are steaming(romantically) inside

She is as red as the blood moon
Stuttering non stop and giggling
Lots of giggling
Like anime school girl giggling too
Pomni:
Stand very still
Statue
She becomes a literal statue
She has no idea what to do
Pomni just stand there, frozen
She will stay there forever until you go away
Jax:
At first he was caught off guard
Now? It is literally flirting warfare
Almost like you guys are flirty rivals
Arguments spiking and the only comebacks being flirts are second nature to you two now
Responds to your flirts with flirts
Nothing really to him other than you guys being romantic rivals basically

It went over the limit by like 2K cause I though it said 2K words was the limit but it was 2K characters. I am beyond blind im- Anyways uhh here you go i guess, a free oneshot😭 Oh one more thing, this used characters labeled A and B. So you can align this with anyone(fictional/real/a ship/etc.) you want:D
Who Needs Words?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sound of a muffled radio and a car on tar was the only noise that filled the vehicle. Neither A nor B were silent from anger or embarrassment or anything of that nature. They were simply silent because it was comforting. Words weren’t needed to have a simple memory.
“Y’know what I want?” B spoke randomly from the passenger's seat. A had gotten used to B’s random tendencies.
“Hm?” A hummed in response, making sure to watch the road that was lit up by the car lights. They held the steering wheel calmly, waiting for B to finish their question.
“Good-old-fashioned love,” B’s face held a small yet proud smile. They seemed to be interested in this topic because of their body language. A took a quick glance at B before going back to the road.
“Do you mean like, 1940s kind of love?” A asked curiously. They didn’t mind the topic taking the place of the silence. As long as they were with B then it was alright.
“Basically!” B’s posture straightened against the seat belt. “Just the unconditional love that can be found. The pure loyalty to each other and expecting nothing in return. I want that. I want to be asked my favorite color and then be surprised with my favorite flowers in the color. I want to be given handmade gifts that would cost less than a cent to buy but cost millions for thought and effort.”
A listened intently as B rambled on and on, not even thinking to stop B. A enjoyed B’s rambles. They enjoyed how B could get excited over the littlest things, whether it’s a duck or a coin on the ground. Against their better judgment, A zoned out for a second. They stole glances at B and nodded softly to act as if they were listening but A was making a mental plan. They remembered everything B said and made a silent promise to grant this wish to B if it was the last thing A did. When A finally came back to reality, they focused on B and the road again.
“I want to grow old together and have shared thousands of memories together,” B paused for a second, having an expression that looked lost for a moment. A took a hand off the wheel and placed it onto B’s shoulder, nudging them a little to bring them back to Earth. B seemed to snap out of their little dream and smiled at A. Oh that smile could melt the sun any day. B’s smile had the power to cool the hottest deserts and warm the coldest tundras.
“I think that’s all I wanted to say, sorry if I rambled,” B rubbed the back of their neck shyly, embarrassed for talking so long.
“Why are you sorry? I enjoy listening to you go on and on about anything.” A comforted, keeping their eyes on the road.
“Really?” B questioned, unsure if they should really believe A’s statement.
“Obviously. I love hearing you talk on the phone for hours with me at 2 AM because you saw a cute bird on the way to work. Or how you saw a mother taking her two kids to that one park a few days ago. I love listening to you, B. You brighten my day by just being here, and you can’t imagine how bright my day is when you talk. I love seeing your smile and hearing the little pitch up in your voice. I love it all.” A gushed, careful not to admit their true feelings for their best friend. A couldn’t risk the friendship dying off all because they confessed their feelings.
B had a look of pure shock that melted into a comforted and soft expression. Instead of responding, B stayed quiet and let the car ride resume its earlier silence. A took a small look at B. After seeing B’s content face, A relaxed too and let out a deep breath. As before, the only noise in the vehicle were the sounds of the muffled radio and car tires on a tar road. Words weren’t needed to have a simple memory.
I finished it! It’s so late but a friend gave me the idea of why not make it a New Years gift? Jeez, I can’t believe we are in 2024 already! Time flies so fast. Anyways, here ya go! Eat up! I am seriously so sorry this took forever, I didn’t mean for it to take this long but most all my family came over for Christmas Break and then I went on vacation so it took a while. But I still got it done, that’s good right? So uhh here it is!! I hope you like it :D I worked really hard on this:) ALSO RQ, this won’t follow the plot of the og Nutcracker exactly. I had to make changes here and there but I mostly based it off the Sweden Ballet and the Boston Ballet plots. Ok that should be all, enjoy!!
Laughter and chatter could be heard from the mansion up on the hill. Snow fell calmly outside, the soft winter breeze whisking snowflakes into small spirals before gracefully setting them upon the frosted ground.
Inside the mansion, there was a grand party taking place at the ballroom. Within the party, the host and hostess were walking throughout the Christmas party and welcoming guests. Their only child, Y/n, was talking with the other kids her age. The young 17-year-old was about to turn 18 just a few days after Christmas. The hostess, M/n, waved her daughter over.
When Y/n reached them, M/n handed her an ornament and gestured to the tree. The young girl smiled brightly, nodding and taking a box of ornaments from nearby. Walking over to the tree, Y/n showed the ornaments to the other kids her age. They all took a few ornaments and ran around the tree, trying to find a good place to put theirs.
After a good 20 minutes, the tree was glistening with ornaments, lights, tinsel, and garland, with some random nick-nacks here and there. Y/n and the others took a few steps back to admire their work until a giant gust of wind and the sound of slamming doors caught everyone's attention. All heads whipped to where the sound and wind came from—the grand front doors. Standing in the doorway, shaking off snow, were two people.
Unwrapping their scarves and taking off their hats and coats was revealed to be Y/n’s favorite, and only, uncles. Hector and Ruck Vendolez. The famous adventuring brothers. A glimmering smile enveloped Y/n’s face as she ran up to her two uncles, jumping up onto Hector.
Hector was at first shocked, almost falling over, but after regaining his balance, he hugged his only niece back. Hector spun them in a circle, boisterous laughter arising from the duo. Ruck backed up a little, not fond of physical touch, but had the ghost of a smile.
After hugging for a little bit, the duo parted ways. Y/n turned to Ruck with a much more gentle smile. Ruck rolled his eyes and sighed playfully, opening his arms for the girl. Her gentle smile grew, and she rushed into a hug, holding her cold uncle close.
The hug only lasted a few moments, but it meant the world to both of them. Finally breaking the hug, Y/n grabbed both her uncles hands and dragged them to see the tree that she and other kids helped decorate. Ruck looked at the tree and ruffled Y/n's hair before walking over to her parents. Hector seemed to be lost in thought when gazing at the Christmas tree. Y/n looked over to him with a slight confusion written on her face. She raised her hand and slowly waved it up and down in front of her uncle's eyes. Flinching, Hector came back to reality, offering his only niece a close-eyed smile.
Only now did Y/n notice that Hector was carrying something—a box, it seemed. Y/n gestured to the box, as if asking what it was. Hector took a glance at the present and crouched down, putting it under the tree. The tag on it clearly read, ‘To: Y/n. From: Your favorite uncle’.
Standing back up, Hector noticed Y/n hiding her quiet laughter behind her hand. He tilted his head, making Y/n point to the tag. A chuckle left his mouth. The older one made his way over to his brother Ruck and his sister, M/n, the hostess. Y/n, having nothing better to do, walked back to her new acquaintances.
~~
A few hours passed with games and food and many conversations, but now it was finally time to open the gifts. Everybody found a gift for themselves, and they all sat or stood around the great ballroom.
It took a little while, but all the gifts had been opened. All but one. A simple box that Y/n recognized as the one Hector had earlier sat in Y/n’s lap.
M/n raised her hands to quiet everyone down, then looked to her daughter. Y/n felt all eyes on her, and she wouldn’t lie; she was getting a little uncomfortable with all the attention, yet she powered through. Slowly, she unwrapped the present dedicated to her. A soft gasp left Y/n’s mouth when she saw the gift.
A nutcracker.
And not any nutcracker. It seemed to resemble the demon toon, Bendy, from the popular show Bendy, The Dancing Demon. But instead of his normal attire in a classic tuxedo with suspenders, he is wearing a noble soldier suit.
Y/n had stars in her eyes, moving Bendy’s arms up and down a little. She was in absolute amazement at the gift, like a trance had overcome her. She hugged the gift tightly with a bright smile. This present meant the entire world to her. A younger girl next to Y/n held her hands out for the nutcracker; her body language read that she wanted to hold Bendy. Y/n being polite, let the girl hold her new friend. But alas, it seemed the younger girl didn’t know what manners were.
Showing her friend next to her, the girl passed the present around the circle, not asking for Y/n’s permission. Shocked but too scared to say anything, Y/n was peeved with a valid reason. That was her gift! And these kids just messed with it like it was an old, rotting, cheap toy.
About halfway through the circle, a boy and a girl got into an argument about who got the toy. Their voices grew over the chatting adults. Another boy joined the first boys side, resulting in two girls joining the original girls side. It didn’t take long before every kid in the circle, excluding Y/n, had gotten on a side. Boys are on the left, and girls are on the right. The boy and girl who started this whole ordeal both took part in the nutcracker and pulled.
Underestimating how well it could hold together, the nutcracker flew from both pairs of hands, and the head snapped from the torso of the toy. The entire ballroom became deathly quiet. In shock and panic, each kid backed away from the now-broken gift. Y/n emerged from the crowd and covered her mouth with her hands.
Tears began to well into her eyes, and terror and grief screamed from her body language. Walking forward and kneeling down to her ruined present, she took the head and body in her hands. Looking over to where Hector and Ruck stood, Y/n was about to cry. This was a handmade gift from her uncles; after all, thought and tedious effort went into it, and now it was ruined all because she couldn’t say no.
When Hector made eye contact with his near-sobbing niece, he felt his heart shatter into billions of pieces. He quickly rushed over to Y/n, Ruck following close behind. Hector crouched on Y/n’s left, with Ruck on her right. Ruck placed a hand on her back to help soothe her while his brother took the nutcracker. Hector gently took the gift from his niece's hands and turned away so Y/n didn’t have to see him brutally put the pieces back together.
Hector pushed and twisted the head and torso together until they were firmly connected. He tipped the toy upside down and shook it, making sure the head wouldn’t come off again. Turning back to his niece and brother, Hector gracefully handed Y/n the gift back.
Her expression went from shock to tears and laughter mixed together. Rubbing her eyes, she wrapped her arms around Hector in a giant bear hug. Ruck stood up with a faint smile and began walking back to his sister and brother-in-law, with Hector soon following.
~~
Hours had passed, and everyone had left now. Y/n and M/n were in the hallway to the bedrooms, bidding goodnight to each other. Once the two parted ways, Y/n walked into her bedroom with the nutcracker in her grasp.
When she reached the bed, she set the nutcracker down on her nightstand and turned off the small lamp that illuminated the room. Dozing off almost immediately, she woke up just as abruptly. After waking up, she heard the grandfather clock in the ballroom strike 12. And judging by how dark it was out the window still, Y/n guessed it was 12 a.m.
Shooting herself up into a sitting position, Y/n heard noises coming from the ballroom just down the hall. Slowly creeping out of her bed, Y/n hadn’t noticed that her nutcracker wasn’t on the nightstand anymore.
Walking over to the door and opening it slowly, Y/n peeked out to make sure nobody was there. After seeing nobody in the halls, Y/n tiptoed as fast as she could to the ballroom. When she finally reached the doors, Y/n slipped through them quietly. Making sure she shut the doors behind her. Y/n walked into the room, looking around for what could have made the noise. A scurrying noise sounded behind her, startling the poor girl. Y/n whipped around to see what could’ve caused the scritches on the hardwood floor but found nothing there. Suspicion wrote itself into Y/n’s expression as she raised an eyebrow and slowly turned back to her original position. Another scurrying noise was heard from her left, and Y/n swung to face the noise. Again, there was nothing there.
And with the distraction, she felt clawed hands wrap around her waist and mouth, muffling her yells of protest. Kicking, hitting, and flailing did no good against her attacker. Y/n felt herself being thrown into a metal confinement. Getting up quickly, she saw that she was in a large metal cage that resembled that of a bird's cage. It looked like the one she used to have for her red parrot so many years ago. She missed Panchito, her parrot, so much. But now was not the time for memories. Y/n looked around through the bars of the cage, seeing large humanoid rats partying around the ballroom.
Her parents were going to kill her if they saw this mess! Y/n tried to bang the bars and shout to get the rats to stop, but her attempts at attention were drowned out by the volume of the rats. Y/n felt helpless; no one was there to save her. Loud footsteps could be heard walking towards the ballroom. All the rats heard it and instantly got down on their knees, bowing in pure silence. The girl was frozen in her spot, petrified at what could make the rambunctious rats stop their antics so suddenly.
From one of the side hallways emerged a humanoid rat, taller than any of the others. It had a crown adorning its head and a giant faux-fur cape. The rat was dressed in kingly attire. How the rat seemed to acquire these garments was beyond Y/n. Referencing its physical appearance, Y/n opted to name it ‘The Rat King’. The Rat King strutted in with his head held high, pride radiating off of him. When the Rat King was in the center of the room, he lifted his clawed hands and began a party of his very own. Cheers from the rats that sounded the shrills broke out amongst them.
The rats' cacophony noises bellowed throughout the ballroom, and it made Y/n wonder how none of the servants or her parents had come in yet. A loud banging of a knock was heard at the doors Y/n entered through, and hope glimmered through her—maybe her parents had woken up? Every creature in the room went dead silent, confused or scared. The Rat King tilted his head in confusion but didn’t move. Another knock was heard, a little harsher this time. After a few seconds passed, the knocker must have realized nobody would answer. At least that’s what Y/n was guessing when the doors flung open with a mighty kick. Standing in the doorway was a human figure, and Y/n let out a gasp, recognizing who it was immediately. Her eyes widened, and all her breath left her lungs in a state of horror and shock.
There he was. The Nutcracker. Walking towards the Rat King like it was a daily affair. Y/n pressed her back to the furthest bars in the cage, trying to get away from the whole ordeal. She watched as the Nutcracker, whom she named Bendy for his appearance, stalked towards the Rat King. No expression was written on Bendy’s face; for being alive, he looked to still keep all his wooden attributes. She watched with an open mouth as Bendy stopped walking and reached to his side, pulling out glistening metal. The steel blade pierced through the light of the glowing candle embers that decorated the ballroom graciously.
The wooden toy gripped the handle of the blade firmly. His painted eyes could only stare lifelessly at the creature in front of him. And with a sudden spark of life, Bendy slashed his sword at the Rat King. Stunned, the Rat King jumped back and swung his sharp claws at Bendy. The two fought as Y/n and the other rats watched in awe.
Sharp clangs from claws on metal rang throughout the room like church bells. The Rat King and Bendy fought like a dance: one step forward, one step left, two steps back, one step right, repeat. The males moved in a circular formation during the dance. Neither seemed to have the upper or lower hand at any time; it was a well-even match. That was until the Rat King wrapped his tail around Bendy's leg and dragged him to the floor, pressing his long claws against Bendy’s wooden neck and beginning to split the wood. Frightened, Y/n reached down and took off her shoe, throwing it through the bar gaps and hitting the Rat King on the back of the head. Distracted and furious, the Rat King let go of Bendy and looked to Y/n. This gave Bendy the chance to drive his sword through the Rat King's back. A shrill pierced through the air, and the Rat King fell to the ground lifelessly.
The rats screeched in panic and ran around the ballroom in disorganized chaos. Amongst this chaos, Y/n couldn’t see her nutcracker anymore and closed her eyes tight as a bright light filled the room for a split second. When the light had vanished, Y/n slowly opened her eyes to see Bendy, who was no longer wood but now a living being in prince attire, offering her a hand to help her out of the newly broken cage. Taking his hand carefully, Y/n hopped out of the cage. And in the moment of pure impulse and gratefulness, Y/n placed a soft kiss on Bendy’s cheek.
In shock but with a giddy smile and a flustered expression, Bendy put a hand up to the cheek Y/n had kissed. Shaking away his embarrassment and fluster, he held his hand out to Y/n as an offer. Y/n tilted her head in confusion, not knowing what he was offering. Bendy made a sweeping motion with his hand behind the two of them, as if to offer a journey. Y/n looked behind her to the doorway that led to her parents bedroom. She turned her attention back to Bendy and nodded slowly, putting her hand in his.
The nutcracker prince led the two of them to the grand entrance doors that would lead them outside. When Bendy opened the doors, Y/n shivered at the cold air rushing inside. Y/n just realized that she had been wearing her pajamas this whole time. Feeling a little embarrassed, Y/n covered her body with her open arm. In front of the duo was a sleigh, all decked with decor, with reins holding onto two pristine white horses. Their coats gleamed in the winter moon, and snow fell invisibly upon them. Her eyes widened in surprise. When did this get here? Bendy led the teen to the passenger side of the sleigh and helped her into it. When Y/n was situated, the prince walked around and got into the driver's side. He made sure Y/n was sitting comfortably before shaking the reins with a low-medium force, signaling the horses to begin trotting forward.
Not expecting the sudden movement, Y/n fell back a little into Bendy’s side. But he didn’t seem to mind. While still keeping a hand on the reins, the nutcracker helped his companion back to a proper sitting position. Embarrassed once more, the teen looked away with a sheepish blush covering her upper cheeks. Eventually getting over her self-shame, Y/n took a chance to look around.
Through the darkened night, snowflakes danced down in a waltz. The wind sang its winter song, and the moon shone down in the spotlight of the snowy stage called Earth. The horses strode undisputed through the snow, letting the sleigh glide effortlessly across the snow. As they rode onward, the quartet of beings entered a forest. Y/n was in awe of the beauty of the trees. She couldn’t tell what type of trees they all were with how dark it was, but Y/n noticed the Willow branches drooping near the path. Only the bioluminescent mushrooms made the trunks of the trees known. Sparkling icicles on the branches reflected the moon's loving gaze.
Soon they arrived at an open area within the center of the forest. The horses directed the sleigh to the edge of the clearing and stopped there for a break. As if on cue of the horses stopping, soldiers in blue and white clothing and snowflake designs stomped into the clearing. The soldiers stood in two perfectly parallel lines. Bendy stood up in the sleigh and put one hand on Y/n’s shoulder, holding her tightly, and his other hand was placed on the hilt of his sword, which was sheltered in its scabbard. But thankfully, before any fighting could happen, two other figures walked between the soldiers. The two figures had their arms linked to each other. Like the soldiers, they were wearing blue and white attire with snowflake patterns.
The two figures, male and female, looked like a king and a queen. It would fit in with the soldiers if they were the rulers. The king and queen walked up next to the sleigh and introduced themselves, adding that they meant no harm and did not mean to frighten Y/n and Bendy. The nutcracker in question slowly sat down and released his grip on his hilt, keeping his hand on Y/n’s shoulder as he kept a close eye on the royalty. Y/n smiled brightly and greeted the monarchs, introducing herself and Bendy since he was too busy watching them with a glare to try and be friendly.
After chatting for a bit, the Snow King and Queen (as they were named) offered Y/n and Bendy to dance. At first, Y/n and Bendy were both going to decline. Y/n declined for the fact she was still in her pajamas and the cold, and Bendy had to ‘uphold his dignity’. But his mind changed the moment he took a glance at Y/n, seeing how her face was illuminated in the moonlight. Quietly and unknowing to his female friend, Bendy exited the sleigh and walked around the back of it so as not to disturb the horses. When he finally reached the side with royalty, he nodded in agreement for a dance. Turning to face Y/n, he held his hand out to her as an invitation. Taken aback, Y/n tilts her head slightly with a nervous smile. Bendy returned the smile, but with a more welcoming feel. He kept his hand held out, and Y/n stared at it for a few moments before letting out a sigh and taking his hand.
Bendy helped Y/n out of the sleigh as the two companions and the royalty made their way to the center of the clearing. With both duos in the correct stance, the dance began. The soldier snowflakes had taken out some instruments and began to play music to help accommodate a waltz. As the music began, the prince led the unlikely duo into a beautiful waltz. Soft music glimmered around the icicles and flowed around the two dancers like a calm stream not yet frozen by the winter. Being so distracted by each other, Y/n and Bendy hadn’t noticed the king and queen had stopped dancing to watch the young love.
As the music went on and on, Bendy couldn’t help but get lost in Y/n’s eyes. Her eyes dazzled in a beauty that was lost to the world. Dancing with her was something he would have never expected to do. Y/n was simply mesmerized throughout the dance. She couldn’t explain her feelings based on how fast they were going around inside her. It was only a few minutes of dancing, but it felt like an eternity that neither of them wanted to leave. Alas, the music soon stopped, and Bendy dipped Y/n down. They stayed like that for a moment, taking in the moment and staring at each other like there was nothing else important in the world and only this mattered. After a few seconds, Bendy cleared his throat and brought Y/n up and out of the dip. Y/n rubbed the back of her neck and looked away in embarrassment. It took a bit, but eventually they both got over their fluster. When they did, both Y/n and Bendy thanked the king and queen for the dance invitation and the peace before getting back into the sleigh.
When both were situated in their spots, Bendy took the reins and whipped them softly. Y/n turned and gave the king and queen a farewell wave, with the royalty waving back. Now facing forward, Y/n took a few side glances at Bendy to see what he was doing. The prince in question had a look of focus and deep thought in his expression. Not wanting to disturb his mind, Y/n just looked at the scenery around them. It was still clearly night and would stay like that for quite a while, but that didn’t take away from nature's delightful view. The way the frost laid itself upon the passing tree branches so gracefully was simply angelic. It didn’t take long for Y/n to notice all the snow turning into what looked like cotton candy. Confused, she looked around more. The tree trunks were replaced by candy canes, and the branches were taken over by licorice. Rocks became gumdrops, and all the ice and icicles became frosting. A smile broke onto Y/n’s face as she looked over to Bendy. He was looking around with a smile, too. Looking back to the scenery around, Y/n reached out carefully to take a handful of the cotton candy snow. When she got her desired amount, she turned to Bendy and showed him. Nodding to each other, the two of them shared the cotton candy. The sweet was delectable and scrumptious to their sense of taste. Being distracted by the candy, the duo hadn’t noticed that the sleigh had stopped in front of a grand palace.
At the whinny of one of the horses, Y/n finally looked around. Her lips parted slightly in awe as a small gasp left her mouth. Y/n stood up from her seat on the immobile sleigh to get a better view. A luxurious castle was only a few paces before her. But just as she was taking it in, a large group of guards—who looked like an assortment of candies—surrounded the sleigh and held up sharp spears. Her initial awe turned into immediate shock. She took a step back as much as the sleigh would allow. Y/n felt the sleigh shift from behind her, and she immediately whipped around, afraid it might be one of the guards. But to her relief, it was only Bendy standing up. He had a look of determination on his face as he stood. Raising her hands out slightly, he gestured for the guards to stand down. Now it was the candy guards' turn to be shocked before every one of them fell into a kneeling position. In confusion, Y/n stared at Bendy with furrowed eyebrows. Said nutcracker looked to his female friend and grinned at her before exiting the sleigh.
Bendy walked over to Y/n’s side of the sleigh and grabbed her arm gently, guiding her off the vehicle and to the large, fanciful doors that led into the palace. Without even having to touch the doors, they swung open, and a great gust of wind from who knows where swept the duo into the main room, the throne room. Sitting gracefully on the only throne in the room was someone Y/n could only describe as an angel. Words couldn’t describe the magnificence and beauty Y/n felt radiating off the person on the throne.
The Sugar Plum Fairy.
Y/n could recall faint memories that seemed to flow around her of her mother telling Y/n of the fairy tale. Stories of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s gentleness and kindness to all things living and nonliving. Stories of how the fairy could make anything into candy or sweet by the single thought of it. The legendary fairy now simply sat on her throne with a skeptical expression pointed towards Y/n. But before the Sugar Plum Fairy could say a word, Bendy stepped in and began explaining how Y/n saved his life when fighting the Rat King. He went into great detail about how his neck was almost split in two until she managed to distract the rat and give the nutcracker enough time to get back up and slay the beast. At this revelation, the Sugar Plum Fairy’s expression became one of joy, shock, relief, and thankfulness. In her gratitude, the fairy rose from her throne and threw her arms up in the air, signaling all the happy servants to come forward with celebration decor. The Sugar Plum Fairy walked down the throne steps and over to the teenage girl in front of her. When the fairy was only about a foot or two away from Y/n, the Sugar Plum Fairy turned to her left and waved her hand for a servant to walk over. The servant, who looked to be a peppermint, scurried over with a pillow.
A crown that could make the Imperial State Crown ashamed was set on the pillow. Cautiously yet deftly, the fairy picked up the crown and nodded to Y/n to bow her head. Y/n, unsure of what to do, bowed her head down with patience. The Sugar Plum Fairy set the crown delicately upon Y/n’s head and lifted the young girl's chin with two fingers. Y/n searched throughout the fairy’s expression as the cryptid creature analyzed her. To Y/n’s own joy and reassurance, the fairy looked in wonder at the younger. To Sugar Plum, Y/n resembled true royalty and looked almost identical to anyone who deserved the spot of a monarch. Nervously, Y/n turned to Bendy to see his reaction. The prince was in absolute awe. His friend looked as good—no, better—than any princess or queen to have reigned.
Bendy was shaken from his thoughts when Sugar Plum ordered two thrones to be placed next to hers immediately. And it was done as she commanded. Sugar Plum looked to the human and prince, inviting them to come sit next to her. Y/n sat on the fairy’s right, and Bendy sat next to his teenage companion. And before they knew it, festivities began all around. Dancers spun, and musicians trumpeted their instruments beautifully. Singers sang sensationally and show horses pranced among it all. Y/n was astonished, and Bendy was in mere awe at the celebration. But throughout the loud and joyous gathering, the prince couldn’t help but steal glances at the girl next to him. The party went on for what seemed like hours, and Y/n was fighting to stay awake. But, like all humans, she needed her sleep. Slowly but surely, Y/n fell onto Bendy’s shoulder, completely knocked out with exhaustion. As much as he didn’t expect it, Bendy wasn’t startled. He simply let the girl lay there.
As the sounds and lights faded out of Y/n’s senses, she felt herself fall into a dark yet comforting abyss. Then, as fast as she fell asleep, she woke up. Shooting herself up into a sitting position, Y/n rubbed her eyes and looked around. She was back in her bedroom. Soft morning light streamed in through her curtain shades. Her room was decorated in the soft hue of the sun's loving embrace of the world. Covering a yawn with her hand, Y/n crawled out of her bed and looked at her nightstand. Standing in the same position her uncle had carved was the nutcracker. The girl smiled tiredly at the wooden toy before turning and walking out her bedroom door, planning to tell her parents all about her dream at breakfast. All is well. All is peaceful. Everything is beautiful. Even you.
So I know this is really late and stupid….buuuut I’m thinking of making a finale for the December challenge and releasing it on Christmas day. It will most likely be related to Toon Quest😬 I know, I know, I write for TQ like every day, but that’s cause the fandom is a barren wasteland for fics or oneshots🤷‍♀️ At least all the other fandoms I cover have actual fandoms, so I’m sorry if this isn’t what you wanted BUT this does NOT mean I am only writing TQ! I will still write all the fandoms (and others) I have listed.
So for this finale, that means no more oneshots until Christmas, yall cool with that? Cool😎 Alrighty thats all
Toodles!!
Frozen Memories
Published: 12-13-2023
Words: 1.6K
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The crunching of snow and her own sharp breaths were the only things Y/n could hear.
Not too long ago, Y/n had gotten into a heated argument with her toon friends. After the argument, she stormed out of the Welkin castle to go on a walk through the woods.
If only she paid attention to the time and where she went. Then she wouldn’t be wandering around aimlessly in the freezing cold at night.
Y/n walked a little more before leaning up against a tree for support. Putting her back against the tree, she slowly lowered herself to the ground.
When her body hit the snow- and ice-covered ground, she instantly relaxed her muscles, splaying herself across the cold forest floor. She was too tired to move or even try to correct her posture. Taking in a large inhale through her almost frozen nose, her mind started replaying memories.
~~~
The bright sun glistened through the car's windshield, partially blinding Y/n.
Letting out an irritated sigh, Y/n put down the visor, hoping it would help block out the sun. It did not help.
Y/n sighed again. She turned to face out the window, watching the endless fields roll by.
And like God was listening to her silent pleas of boredom, a song came on the radio. It was a fairly new one, but it was already one of Y/n’s favorites.
She began to hum along softly, tapping her finger to the beat on her lap. Y/n quietly started to mumble the words.
“My grandpa fought in World War II
And he was such a noble dude
Man, I feel like such a fool
I got so much left to prove.”
Bendy took a confused glance at her before going back to the road. Getting lost in the music, Y/n got a little louder, just under her speaking voice.
“All my friends have vaping friends
They're so good at making friеnds
I'm so scared of caving in
Is that entertaining yet?”
Her voice got the attention of Oswald, who was seated directly behind her. His ears perked up slightly, interested in the song and her voice.
The song went on for a bit, and Y/n sang along with it.
“I'll blow up into smithereens
And spew my tiny symphony
All up and down a city street
While tryna put my mind at ease”
Getting excited with the anticipation of the song, Y/n’s voice grew a tad louder with the song. Now she has reached her speaking level.
“Like finishing this melody
This feels like a necessity
So this could be the death of me
Or maybe just a better me”
Eventually, Panchito seemed to hear too and with a big grin on his face, he joined in.
“Now, come in with the timpanis
And take a shot of Hennessy
I know I'm not there mentally.”
Oswald nodded his head softly to the beat. All this racket caught the attention of the others, even managing to wake up Cuphead in the back.
“But you could be the remedy.”
Y/n turned around to look at Panchito excitedly, smiles adorning both their faces.
“So let me play my violin for you!”
~~~~
A shaky chuckle, if it could even be called that, left Y/n’s lips. She had lost feeling in her fingers and feet by now.
Y/n was shivering like an earthquake; she was so desperate for warmth. Just any warmth. Slowly, Y/n turned her head to the right side and let out a sigh.
~~~~
Tension was high inside the town tavern. Everyone was holding their breath, waiting. In the center of all the eyes were two humans. A teen girl with a neutral face and a random middle-aged man with a smirk.
The two were sitting at a table with money, trinkets, keep-sakes, and many other valuable items placed between them.
“Well girlie, you gonna bet or what?” The man spoke in a New York accent.
Y/n looked at him before taking a glance at her toon friends who stood behind and beside her. Her eyes widened ever so slightly at the thought.
She had a plan.
“Yeah, I am.” Y/n turned around in her chair to her book bag, opening it up and pulling something out.
A loud thud, along with loud gasps, filled the tavern.
Laying on the table was a certain book, Y/n and the toons depended upon it.
Feeling a hand on her shoulder, she turned around to see her friends' expressions. Emotions were flashing like Christmas lights across their faces. Anger, shock, fear, and many others.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Bendy hissed under his breath, bending down to meet Y/n’s eyes. Y/n merely smirked.
“Trust me, I know what I’m doing.” She reassured them, though it didn’t do much for them.
“You better know what you’re doing. Or it’s your head on a stick.” Mugman glared; he wasn’t normally this pissed, but Y/n was betting off the book that was supposed to save the world. He can’t be calm about that.
Y/n rolled her eyes and turned back to face the man across the table, muttering. “Nice to know you trust me.”
"Alright, little girl, we are playing sevens. Ya’ know how ta’ play?”
Y/n waved her hand at him, brushing him off. "'Course, I do. Roll a seven, and I win. If I don't, then it’s your turn. Simple.”
“Good. Here are some dice; I’m betting you don’t have any since, ya’ know, you’re a woman.” The guy shrugged with a chuckle.
Glaring, Y/n responded. “Funny, well, I do, in fact, have dice.” She glared. “Spunk?” Y/n called.
The robotic dog came trotting up next to her. Y/n looked down at him with a gentle smile, holding her hand out to him. Spunk delicately dropped two dice into her hand from his mouth. Thankfully, since he was a robot, there was no saliva.
Y/n looked back at the man, gesturing to him to roll first. The man smirked cockily and shook his hands before letting the pair of dice go.
One and five.
Close call.
Y/n nodded before shaking the dice in her hands. “Give me a seven." Y/n whispered under her breath. Letting the dice go, they rolled and spun around the table. Finally, with the whole tavern holding its breath and Mugman ready to beat the daylights out of Y/n, the dice landed.
“SEVEN!!!” The whole tavern yelled.
Cheers erupted, and the toons let out a sigh of relief. Y/n smiled and scooped everything into her book bag (how she fit it all, we’ll never know). When she finished gathering her winnings, she swung her book bag around her and got up to leave. But as she stood, she accidentally hit the table, knocking the dice off.
Terror spread across Y/n’s face as the dice danced along the floor. Finally landing, confusion spread throughout the tavern like wildfire.
Another seven.
“What..?” The middle-aged man muttered. He crouched down to pick up the dice. Y/n was frozen in her spot. Her friends cast glances at her, only to look back at the guy.
The silence was so deafening that you could hear a pin drop. The man picked up the dice and dropped them back to the floor.
Another seven.
Y/n was slowly and quietly backing away to the exit, but she wasn’t fast enough. The whole tavern looked directly at her.
“…lucky..roll..?” Y/n chuckled nervously, standing still in fear.
“You have loaded dice!” The man shouted, standing up straight and pointing at Y/n. For being possibly over double Y/n’s age, the man was much shorter than her.
"Whaaaaat, I have noooo idea what you’re talking about.” She spoke in a nervous and horribly convincing voice.
“CHEATER!!” The man yelled, charging for Y/n.
Y/n turned and took off, running through the crowd, weaving and dodging hands, trying to catch her.
Bursting through the tavern doors, she ran across the street and past pedestrians.
“Excuse me! Oh- Sorry! Please move! I’m sorry! Sorry!”
“CHEATER!!” Could be heard from behind her.
Running through and around crowds was difficult, but she soon found a rhythm for dodging people. As she raced, she saw a car speeding next to her.
“Hurry up and get in!” Bendy yelled from the driver's seat.
Skidding to a halt, Y/n ran over to the stopped car and jumped into the passenger seat.
Y/n let out a deep exhale of relief when the car sped off away from the town.
“That was really stupid, you know that?” Felix scolded her from the back.
“I know," Y/n began, but was cut off.
“We could’ve lost the book!” Mugman piped in.
“But we didn't." She was cut off again.
“Why would you do something like that?” Bendy joined, and by his tone, Y/n could tell he was beyond pissed.
“I had a plan," Y/n started, but alas, her sentence was unfinished again.
“Even I’m not that risky.” Cuphead claimed.
“You put the fate of the world on the line!” Bendy continued. He stopped driving now that they had reached the countryside. “What would you have done if you lost? Or if you were caught? What would have happened if you didn’t have loaded dice? What if he forced you to use his dice?”
Growing irritated, Y/n clenched her fists, her jaw tightened, and her shoulders tensed.
“But none of that happened.” She grumbled.
“Excuse you? You don’t get to have an opinion right now.” Bendy turned to her with a hard, cold glare.
Turning to him, rage and shock were evident in Y/n’s eyes. “Why?! Why don’t I get a say? Why do you all treat me like a child?! I am not helpless! I am not stupid! I am not any weaker than all of you! I am capable of anything you are! You always act like I’m a baby here! And for what?! Because I’m human?! Huh? Tell me!” She shouted at them; tears were brimming in her eyes. “I can handle the world. I handled that gamble back there, even with you all doubting me.”
Panchito was about to raise his hand to explain that she had his support then, but he didn’t think now was the right time.
“Y/n…” Oswald began, and Donald was sleeping on his shoulder, unaware of the yelling that just ensued.
Y/n looked at him, and as much as she wouldn’t admit it, her gaze softened the slightest bit. Y/n huffed and turned around, looking out her window. The toons all looked at each other for support and answers, but none of them knew what to do.
Bendy moved around and faced back to the road in front of them, beginning to drive again.
~~~~
Y/n frowned at the memory; she didn’t like that one. She hated herself for yelling at her friends like that; they were right; she was just a kid. She acts so stupid at the worst times, and it’s all her fault. They were just trying to help. Y/n realized that she never officially apologized to them. Regret and terror ran through her veins. She needed to see them again.
But as much as she tried, she couldn’t move. The pain was unbearable, but Y/n would go through it if it meant she could apologize officially.
Slowly, she twisted her body to get into an army crawl; she couldn’t muster the strength to stand. Crawling across the snowy ground in a snowstorm while being almost frozen solid was something Y/n wished upon no soul.
But as much as she tried, she didn’t make it far—not before another memory came, at least.
~~~~
“What are you doing up here?”
Y/n didn’t have to turn around to know who was talking.
“Hey Ruck, I’m watching the sunset. Isn’t it beautiful tonight?”
Ruck finished climbing the tree and sat next to his great-niece. Looking out at the sunset, he was at first stunned by the beauty, but that initial shock faded as quickly as it came.
“Eh, it’s fine, I guess.” He shrugged.
Y/n scoffed jokingly at his uninterest. “You’re just upset that you aren’t as pretty as the sunset.” She smirked.
The ghost of a smile appeared on Ruck's face for a split second. “I could show you something better than a sunset.” He offered.
Y/n chuckled, turning to face her great-uncle. “Doubtful, but I’d like to see you try.”
Ruck chuckled too, leading her down the tree. The two of them walked through the forest in a comforting silence. The only sounds were the rustle of wind, cracks of twigs under the duo's feet, and the birds chirping their own sweet songs.
After walking for a bit, they finally arrived.
“Ok, close your eyes for a second.” Ruck told her.
“Oook?” Y/n put her hands over her eyes to prove she wasn’t peeking. Ruck grabbed her shoulders and led her forward. Once she took a few steps, he stopped her. “Open your eyes.”
And as she did, she couldn’t explain her admiration for the setting. It was ineffable.
“See? Better than a sunset.” Ruck said confidently, going to relax against a tree.
Y/n spun in a slow circle, taking in the view. The sun's light glistened perfectly through the leaves of the lively trees. A soft stream sparkled with the clearest water, making the water look almost invisible.
Birds flew around the treetops, whistling their pretty chords. It was the perfect temperature, and only a few clouds decorated the sky.
In total, this place looked like a sanctuary. It doesn’t look real; it looks like someone spent years painting it.
Y/n took a few backward steps until she was right in front of a smooth rock. Sitting down, she never took her gaze off the perfect scenery. Ruck was just leaning against a tree, relaxing with his eyes shut. Nothing could ruin this.
~~~~~
Y/n collapsed her face and arms into the snow. Letting her body release all tension and stress. She was too tired. Too cold.
Why? Why did she run off? Why couldn’t they have talked it out? Why? Why is she such a screw up?
Laying her face in the snow, she took a deep inhale. Knowing it could be her last. Then a thought ran through her mind that made the frozen tears in her eyes fall like shards of icicles.
Her parents would have never been able to say goodbye to her. They never knew that the goodbye for her ‘vacation’ would be the last goodbye they shared. And Ruck wouldn’t have been able to say goodbye either. The toons. Oh, her friends. They all left on bad terms. And now she’d be gone. They would blame themselves. Everyone would.
Broken sobs left Y/n’s mouth. It hurt to cry but it hurt so much more to keep it in. Crying with her head in the snow, she was helpless. Completely and utterly helpless. Finally, after a little bit of crying, her breaths slowed, along with her organs working. The world faded in and out of light and darkness.
Sighing, she took in another breath of air. A slower yet quicker breath. A steady yet shaky breath.
Letting herself watch the world disappear, she remembered a fact she learned a while ago. When you die, your sense of hearing is the last to go.
“Y/N!!! Y/N!! WHERE ARE YOU?? PLEASE WHERE ARE YOU!!”
Shouting. For her.
Y/n only hoped Ruck would find comfort in the place he would find her. The stream was frozen, and the birds no longer chirped. The leaves overhead were fallen and bare. The moon took the place of the sun, showing its sharp, cold gaze through the dead branches. The sanctuary was so dead and quiet, yet just as majestic, if not more. It was ineffable.

Sledding Bump
MK x Reader
Published: 12-11-2023
Words: 739
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Sooo…..are we sure this is safe?”
“Not at all!”
“Well that’s reassuring…” Y/n spoke nervously, messing with the sled in her hands.
“Thank you!” MK smiled happily, looking forward. He was so oblivious that it was adorable.
MK and Y/n were standing at the top of a large and extremely steep hill. Looking down made Y/n’s stomach drop but when she glanced at MK, she guessed he didn’t share her anxiety being he was grinning from ear to ear.
MK turned to her, his smile glowing with excitement. “You ready?”
“Not really…”
“Oh well! Hand me the sled please?” MK shrugged and held his hands out for the sled.
Y/n handed him the sled, gulping nervously. There were so many bumps and rocks down the slope, she was going to have bruises everywhere tomorrow, huh?
Mk crouched down to set the sled on the ground. Patting it, he directed Y/n to sit down.
“Ok you sit in front, I will sit behind you.”
“Wait, why do I have to sit in front? Isn’t that more dangerous?” Y/n raised an eyebrow.
MK had to think of an excuse for a minute, he can’t just say he wanted to have his arms wrapped around you so he can feel like he is protecting you. Stuttering, he came up with the lamest excuse to exist.
“Well- Uhm- Oh! The youngest person has to sit in front!” MK quickly filled in.
“What?! I’m only a day younger than you!”
“Ok and? A day is a day.” MK explained with a sassy tone.
Y/n sighed and rolled her eyes playfully. She sat in front and picked her feet up so they were hanging in front. MK took his place behind and wrapped his arms around, secretly smiling again.
“Ready? Let’s go!” He didn’t give her time to answer before pushing the sled off the hill.
“NoooOoOOOooOooOOOOOOO!!” Y/n screamed, wind whipping around her.
They were flying down the hill at intense speeds. Fear filled Y/n’s body, and yet there was a sliver of joy that sparked every so often of the ride. MK was having the time of his life, laughing at Y/n’s screams and cheering from the ride.
“I DON’T WANT TO BE ON THIS RIDE ANYMORE!” Y/n shouted, but it fell upon the whirling wind and MK’s laughter, muting her shouts to the world.
Y/n shut her eyes tight, too scared to open them up. But her curiosity got the best of her, and at the worst time too. She opened her eyes slightly to see MK and herself speeding towards a massive bump in the hill.
“EM KAYYY!!! BUMP!!” Y/n shouted at the top of her lungs. But it was futile.
Y/n felt the two of them being flung into the air, feeling weightless. Like there was no care in the world at that moment.
And a second later, all those feelings of tranquility were gone. MK was still laughing and Y/n screaming in terror. The two were smashed back onto the sled which only seemed to be speeding up.
“AAAAAAAAHHHHHH”
“HAAHAAAHHAHAHAHHAAAAH”
Another bump, a bigger one, was closing in on them swiftly. Not even a minute later, they were back up in the air, but much higher now. But this time instead of having the sled beneath Y/n as she flew, it was far behind her.
Soon enough, Y/n was head first into the fluffy snow. Her entire upper body was stuffed into the powder. Slowly but surely she crawled out of her little grave and rolled over, laying on her back with snow covering every inch of her.
Y/n moved her frozen hands to rest over her face, covering her eyes from the blinding sun.
“Y/N? Y/N!!” She heard MK shouting.
“Never sledding with him again.” Y/n muttered, muffled by her hands.
Loud and rushing footsteps sounded beside her, along with that all so familiar voice.
“There you are! I thought you died or something.”
“I can only hope so I don’t have to go sledding with you again.” Y/n told him, taking her hands off her face.
“As if, you love going sledding with me, MK, the Monkey King's student and heir.” MK posed.
Y/n just stared at him with a dumbfounded face before the two of them burst into laughter at the stupid situation.
Smell of pines
Published: 12-9-2023
Words: 674
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ringing of the bell signaled someone entering the shop. Or two someones, should I say.
Chatting away, Y/n and her boyfriend, Sammy, walked into a local plant shop. It was Christmas season and Y/n had begged Sammy to come with her shopping for decor. And even though they have been together for what seemed like forever, which was only 3 years; Sammy still got flustered from her(Though he would never admit it).
When a break hit their conversation, Y/n took a deep breath of the floral life around her. Exhaling with a smile, she turned to Sammy.
“Do you smell that?”
Sammy inhaled through his nose for a second before exhaling immediately after. “Yeah, what about it?”
“What’s it smell like to you?” Y/n asked curiously, she always had a knack for wanting to know everything. And that knack of hers was multiplied tenfold when she started dating Sammy, she wanted to know everything about him. At first, this weirded Sammy out; but now it’s a second nature to tell Y/n anything she wanted to know. He loved that goofy smile she’d get when she learned something new.
So, putting on a teasing smile, Sammy said, “It smells like employees hating their lives.”
Y/n gave him the most impassive look she could muster.
“I was talking about the smell of pine trees.”
Sammy just shrugged and walked away from her, knowing she’d follow. “Same difference.”
“Wha- No it’s not! Pine is a much more nostalgic and happy smell rather than whatever ‘Employees hating their lives.’ smells like!” Y/n chased after her boyfriend.
Once she found him, the two went back to the most random topics that came along the way. After shopping for a bit, Y/n picked out a nice looking wreath. Whereas, unbeknownst to Y/n, Sammy bought a mistletoe and had a plan.
Finally leaving the store, the two got into their shared car; with Y/n in the passenger and Sammy driving, he didn’t trust her driving skills after she almost ran off the road and then accidently whipped the car with people behind them.
Sammy began to drive to their shared apartment. On the way, Y/n turned on the radio and Christmas music flooded the car. As the previous song ended, one of Y/n and Sammy’s favorites came on and the two immediately began to sing along to the duet.
“I really can’t stay…”
“Baby it’s cold outside.”
“I’ve got to go away…”
“Baby it’s cold outside.”
“This evening has been…”
“Hoping that you’d drop by.”
“So…very nice.”
“I’ll take your hands, they're just like ice.”
The two sang on and on until the song ended, arriving home right on time too. Sammy drove the car to the apartment parking lot and put it in park.
While Y/n was turned in her seat to get the wreath from the back seats, Sammy hung the mistletoe on the rearview mirror.
When Y/n turned back, she saw the mistletoe hanging up. She looked over to Sammy, about to ask where the mistletoe came from. But before she could, she was cut off by a pair of warm, soft lips meeting her cold, chapped ones.
Even though they have kissed countless times before, Y/n couldn’t help but become flustered and thoughtless each time Sammy kissed her. Even a small forehead peck could get her to smile and giggle like a schoolgirl.
Slowly, the kiss broke, giving the two lovebirds some air. Sammy leaned away from her, watching for her reaction. She always made him smile with her reactions to his kisses.
Y/n’s face was firetruck red, she was burning up so much that she thought she had a fever.
Not being able to form words, she simply looked away from Sammy and stared at the windshield in front of her.
Sammy merely laughed at her flustered expression.
Little did they know, the universe had intertwined Sammy and Y/n’s hearts so that they may be together forever.

“In your face!”
Published: 12-7-2023
Words: 462
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A sharp inhale.
Crunching of snow.
Ragged breaths.
Adrenaline ringing.
Footsteps walking away.
Y/n let out a soft sigh of relief, taking her hands off her mouth. She slowly relaxed her muscles and leaned forwards. Y/n exited her tiny cove, an imprint her back left on the snow wall when she was pressed up hard against it.
Peering around as best as she could with the snow all around her, Y/n searched for her friend, trying to see where he wandered off to. She got into a small crouching position and gazed above all the snow piles, she almost resembled a meerkat.
As quietly as she could in the crunching snow, Y/n stood up and began to walk slowly out of her snow bunker.
“Where’d he go?” She mumbled under her breath. Y/n walked around more and finally spotted the back of a familiar red coat belonging to a cup.
Smirking, she crept up slowly behind the ceramic, getting low to grab a clump of snow. Y/n shivered slightly at the coldness of the snow, maybe Ruck was right when he told her to bring gloves.
Nevermind that though, she could barely contain her chuckles. Y/n formed the snow into a ball firmly.
After creeping up on the dish for a good minute, Y/n was now directly behind him. Quietly but quickly, she wound up into a pitchers stance and absolutely launched the snowball at point blank.
Cuphead let out a shout and fell forwards with a loud thud.
Y/n bent over, putting her hands on her knees while she laughed loudly. Cuphead quickly twisted over when he heard her laughs, still on the ground. He had a shocked look, not expecting her to be right there.
Through her boisterous laughs, she managed to get a sentence out. “In- your- your face!” Y/n held her stomach with one hand and pointed at Cuphead with the other.
Cuphead’s face shifted through emotions but in the end, he settled on a look of pure awe and admiration for his human friend.
Y/n finally began calming down from her howls of laughter. She was still chuckling lightly, bragging about her win against her friend.
“Would you look at that! I thought you were good at aiming? I just point blanked you!”
As prideful as she was, Y/n stopped bragging when she realized that Cuphead was chuckling at her. She gave him a confused look.
“What are you smiling at?”
“You.”
Never before had Y/n been so caught off guard and flustered. She covered her face with her hands and turned away from Cuphead, beginning to walk away.
Cuphead laughed, getting up and off the ground to follow her back to her house.
Christmas cookies go wrong
Published: 12-5-2023
Words: 1,002
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A knock sounded from Y/n’s house door, she got up from her spot on the couch and went to the door. But before she could open it, the door was flung open by her best friend, Panchito.
“Hey Panchito.” Y/n let out a laugh, noticing he was carrying multiple bags. Panchito walked into the house, closing the door behind him with his foot, and placed the bags on the table.
“¡Hola querida!” Panchito greeted excitedly.
“What do ya got here?” Y/n asked, moving over to the table to stand next to Panchito.
“¡We are baking galletas!” Panchito threw his arms in the air. He had a habit of speaking his native language when he got too excited or couldn’t remember a word.
“Huh?” Y/n asked, she did not pay attention in Spanish class.
“Oh, uh what’s the word? How you say desserts? Small circles?” Panchito tried to remember the English word.
“Cookies?” Y/n suggested after thinking for a moment.
“¡Sí! Sí! Cookies!”
She let out a chuckle at his antics. Panchito never failed to make her laugh.
“Ok, so you got all the supplies?” Y/n asked him, helping to unpack the bags.
“¡Sí! Everything is there!” He smiled brightly at her.
Gosh, Y/n could melt right there. His accent. His personality. His smile. He was perfect to her.
She quickly shook the thoughts from her head as Panchito pulled out a random Christmas cookie recipe he found.
“Ok, what should I do?” Y/n asked, washing her hands quickly, Panchito doing the same after.
“Hmmm, I don’t know. It’s up to you.” He shrugged.
Y/n deadpanned at him. “Well now I don’t know what to do.”
“I dunno.”
The two best friends simply stared at each other, not exactly sure where to go from this.
“I’ll get the ingredients together, you mix.”
“Ok.” Panchito agreed blindly, his pretty smile never fading.
Y/n began to gather and mix the ingredients like the recipe said. As she focused on measuring the right amount of flour, she didn’t seem to notice Panchito staring at her with a love sick smile. Nor did she notice that the salt container looks oddly similar to the sugar, and just so happened to be placed where she thought the sugar was.
After measuring out every ingredient and dumping them into the bowl, Y/n let Panchito take over his part of mixing.
It took them a little bit but eventually they got the cookies all mixed and in the oven. After Y/n set the timer to 30 minutes, the two friends made eye contact. With in a seconds notice they raced over to the living, competing to see who would get there first.
Shoving the other out of the way and pulling each other caused the two to topple to the ground and wrestle.
While they were tumbling, Y/n touched the couch with the tips of her fingers.
“I win! I win.” Y/n shouted, out of breath.
“Good game, mi amor!”
Panchito climbed off of her and stood up, lending his hand for her to grab and stand also. Y/n took his hand and stood up. But as quickly as she stood, she collapsed onto the couch, spreading her body across it all so Panchito couldn’t sit.
“Winner gets the couch.” A teasing smile crossed her lips.
Panchito placed his hand on his chest and gave a look of offense, but they both knew it was fake.
“How could you? All I’ve ever wanted in life is the couch!” He spoke in mock grief.
As if on cue, the oven dinged, signaling the cookies were done.
“Has it already been 30 minutes?” Y/n asked, sitting up from the couch. Confusion was evident on her face.
But she didn’t even get an answer, seeing that Panchito was running to the kitchen to get the cookies before her. Y/n’s jaw dropped at the betrayal. Leaping off the couch, she raced after him.
When Y/n finally reached the kitchen, Panchito was lifting a cookie up to his beak, about to take a bite. Quickly, and without thinking it through, she swiped the cookie away from Panchito and shoved the whole thing in her mouth. Not only was it burning hot, it physically made her reel back from the taste.
Gagging, Y/n ran to the garbage can and spit out the cookie, if you could even call it that. Panchito was at first really concerned, but now he was just laughing at her misery.
“Don’t laugh at my pain.” Y/n cried.
Panchito stifled his laughs, apologizing. “Sorry querida, you had a funny reaction. I didn’t know you hated cookies so much?”
“I don’t, these just taste nasty.” Y/n spat out the rest of the cookie, using a paper towel to wipe her tongue off.
Panchito gave her a questioning look before picking up a cookie of his own. “Oh come on mi amor, it can’t be that bad.”
He bit down on the cookie, and immediately regretted it but he wanted to prove Y/n wrong.
Slowly but surely, and with disgust and regret plastered on his face, he ate the cookie and swallowed it.
“See?” Panchito said through gritted teeth and a forced smile. “Great.”
Y/n looked at him with a smirk. “It’s horrible isn’t it?”
“Sí”
Y/n chuckled and turned away to start cleaning up their huge mess.
When Panchito finally got past the pain of the cookie, he looked to Y/n. Gazing at her, she looked perfect to him. Every flaw Y/n has is smoothed over by his love for her.
“Te amo es imposible de explicar, querida.” He mumbled softly.
Y/n turned over to face him. “What did you say?”
“That I could clean faster than you.” Panchito smirked.
This prompted another playful fight between the two with running and crashing. Laughter ringing like sleigh bells around the house. The two ‘friends’ were perfect together.

Abel The Rebel Angel x Reader
"It's only November!"
Day 2! I hope you like this one, I tried to add romance but not too much at the same time yk? Enjoy!💕💕
Published: 12-3-2023
Words: 543
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n was walking through a mall in her home city. She wasn’t shopping for anything in particular, just browsing through the sections.
It was only November 5th, and the whole mall was decorated for Christmas.
After walking for a bit, Y/n stopped in a local family owned store. It was decked out with festive decor. Ornaments glistened from the front windows, and Christmas music sang from the speakers.
As she was looking around, she didn’t notice a toon walking towards her, busy looking at his phone. When Y/n looked up, it was too late; the human and the toon bumped into each other, causing them both to take a few steps back.
“I am so sorry! I didn’t mean to bump into you!” Y/n panicked, trying to make sure the toon was alright.
“First it’s Christmas in November; now I get hit by some daydreaming idiot.” She heard him grumble as he steadied himself.
Y/n leaned back, giving him an offended look.
"Well, excuse me, Mr. Grinch!” Y/n glared at him with a sassy tone.
Abel looked at her and into her eyes, staring into her soul with his pie cut eyes. Unexpectedly to Y/n, he let out a small chuckle.
She didn’t notice it before, but she did now; the toon had major wings on his back. His head had a tilted halo hanging above it, and he was in a nice suit. The toon's hair was well kept as well. All in all, he seemed to care for his appearance, and she wouldn’t lie if she had to admit that he was pretty attractive. But that doesn’t automatically mean she’s head over heels—no,  not at all.
“What?” Y/n frowned.
“You have weird insults.” The toon smiled.
“Well ok then, why not tell me some of your ‘oh so great’ insults?” Y/n mocked, putting her hands on her hips.
“First off, don’t call someone a Grinch-” The toon began before being cut off by Y/n.
“It’s true though! You were acting like The Grinch.” She states matter-of-factly.
He just deadpanned.
The two of them talked for a long time, sometimes bantering or playfully arguing. They eventually learned each other's names.
~~Time skip~~
It had been a year since the two met, and now they’re inseparable.
Currently, the two were simply lounging around on Y/n’s couch. Y/n was lying down, her legs laying on top of Abel’s lap. Abel was sitting up, scrolling through channels on Y/n’s TV.
He tried to ignore how pretty she looked right now; they were just friends after all. Nothing more.
As Abel scrolled through the channels, he stopped on an interesting one. It was going on about how electric cars are made.
“We’ll be right back after this short break.” The channel spoke. As the screen of the TV faded to black, it was replaced with blaring Mariah Carey and red and green lights.
“It is November! Why are there Christmas commercials out?!" Abel shouted at the TV.
Y/n couldn’t help but burst out laughing at his anger.
He looked over to her, a smirk flashed over his features. Shoving her off of him and the couch, Abel couldn’t help but laugh too.
