There's a bunch of adhd advice out there that's like "people with adhd tend to work better under deadlines due to the anxiety so here are ways to artificially induce a stress response in order to get you to get work done" and it's like well what if I don't want to be stressed out all the time in order to function

RAIN CODE Fan Meeting Report ④
Tumblr media
From the beginning of the night program to about the middle of it.

RAIN CODE Fan Meeting Report ③
⚠️This is a long post and contains spoilers! In particular, this post contains some major spoilers. If you haven't played RAIN CODE yet, you should definitely not read it.
In the daytime program, it was Yuma who greeted the audience before the event started, but in the night program, it was Shinigami:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Shinigami read the precautions for the event. Yuma read it in a normal way, but Shinigami was a bit theatrical and cute 😄.
Tumblr media
------
As for the night program, there was no reading at the beginning, and the title call was done by Yuma and Shinigami's voices, then the MC and guests came on stage.
The VAs first greeted the audience by saying a line from the character they were playing before saying their name. After that, Kodaka's greeting was a bit funny:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am curious what Yakou's line he was going to say XD When the MC asked the audience for a show of hands for those who came from the daytime program, quite a few people raised their hands, so it seems that many people attended both programs (my sense is that about 60% of them did).
------
After the introduction, the first segment was "Inquiries to the World Detective Organization," in which the contestants comment on messages from fans.
The first message was that he/she was so excited about this event and would wake up early to take the Amaterasu Express to the venue. When the MC asked the person who had sent the message to raise his hand, someone did, and Fukuhara told him/her that it was great that you were able to come safely even though you took the Amaterasu Express. lol The MC then mentioned that speaking of Chapter 0, Zilch was very popular and that they had received a lot of questions about him. The following questions were then asked of Kodaka:
What kind of person was the real Zilch?
Why is the fake Zilch no longer in Yomi's entourage?
Kodaka's first reaction to this was, "Actually, I hadn't really thought about it," so the VAs were surprised. He then continued, "so I'm not saying that this is the right answer, just that this is what I kind of think... I think the real Zilch is very similar to the fake Zilch. It's like he was imitated in a very elaborate way. And because Zilch was an entourage of Yomi-sama, he was assigned to the mission in the Amaterasu Express, but he failed there, so he was treated as a useless guy. Since Yomi-sama is ruthless." (I wrote "Yomi-sama" because Kodaka actually said so.)
Fukuhara said that it was still better that Zilchi was not turned into a dice, and Kodaka said that Zilchi did a pretty good job of eliminating a lot of master detectives.
When the MC asked the audience for a show of hands for those who liked Zilchi, some fans immediately raised their hands, and Suzushiro was surprised and said, "You're raising your hands so fast!" XD
------
The next message was from a fan of Fukuhara. The answer to this question was not very important, so I'll skip most of it, but he mentioned here that he recorded the line "No, that's wrong!" (This is a signature line in the Danganronpa series). He also said that there were several other lines that he recorded, although they were not sure if the audio would be used or not.
------
The next message was about impressions of each character, so the VAs were asked about their impressions of each character.
Fukuhara commented that Yuma is a bit timid at first, but he also has a strong heart and does not hesitate to help someone who is in trouble, and that was close to my image of protagonists.
Suzushiro said that Shinigami was a character with many sides, some old sister-like and some childlike. She also said that she struggled with how to imagine Shinigami's unusual sensations, such as being excited by the sight of corpses.
Ishikawa said that her impression of Halara was an inscrutable character. However, Halara's attitude is not affected by the situation around him/her, so she did not have to worry about how to perform. Kodaka then said: "For Halara, I struggled with how much emotion to show when Yakou died. I thought that Halara's attitude wouldn't change too much in such situations, but I felt that he/she would seem cold if no emotions were expressed. Desuhiko could cry from the bottom of his heart in such situations, but I wondered what Halara would do."
Finally, when KENN was asked about his impression of Desuhiko, he said that despite his high ability, Desuhiko is sometimes a wimp and that this gap is what makes him such an interesting and human character. He then asked Kodaka why he made Desuhiko as a character who is so perfect but has some flaws. Kodaka replied: "It was because his disguise was too powerful. Fubuki is the same way. It will be too perfect if it is combined with intelligence and courage. So Desuhiko has high abilities, but he is afraid of looking at dead bodies, and I was hoping that would be his charm."
Then, Fukuhara commented: "Desuhiko had said something like 'If you can't do it, I'll do it for you' at the climax of the mystery labyrinth in Chapter 2, which really impressed me." When KENN heard this, he said "My man!" in a loud voice, to which Fukuhara replied "Desuhiko-kun! Yeah!" 😄
Tumblr media
And what they said afterwards:
Tumblr media
It was adorable that KENN showed a depressed look as if he was Desuhiko. XD
------
The next message was from a fan who loved Icardi. The MC then asked Kodaka for his impression of the popularity of the characters in Resistance. He then replied: "Yes, Icardi is popular for some reason. I don't know if it's good to say 'for some reason', but for some reason he's popular. Also, this is not a Resistance character, but Nun is kind of popular." Fukuhara said: "Doesn't Nun seem like she has too many different elements?" Kodaka agreed: "She is very unique even though she is just a sub-character."
------
The last message was from a fan who was looking forward to seeing Fukuhara for the first time at this event, and Fukuhara was asked by the MC to introduce himself for people who don't know Fukuhara well. When asked if he and Yuma resembled each other in any way, Fukuhara replied, "I guess my hair", then KENN told Fukuhara that "It looks good on you":
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perhaps to hide their shyness, KENN said "My man!" again and they fist-bumped each other in the air. XD ------
The next segment was "Let's thoughtgraph memorable scenes", a look back at scenes that received a particularly strong response in a ranking format.
The first one that was presented as fifth place was "The reason why the blood color was pink". According to the MC, many fans said they were completely fooled by this. The MC went on to ask the audience to raise their hands if they were fooled by this, and almost everyone raised their hands.
When the VAs were talking about the clues they were given about the color of blood (such as the red color of Yuma's blood when he was injured in the Amaterasu Express), Kodaka mentioned that Desuhiko had actually reacted about blood, and that Fubuki had also said something about blood. (I don't know which lines he's referring to, because Kodaka's explanation wasn't that detailed.)
Suzushiro asked Kodaka if it was for this trick that the master detectives died by burning in Chapter 0. Kodaka replied, "Yes, I thought it was necessary to make the death in Chapter 0 bloodless from the beginning".
When the MC asked Kodaka, "When did you come up with this trick?" He replied: "At first, I thought of a setting where all the people in the city were homunculus, and then I wondered if I could add some kind of homunculus-like or monster-like element. At that time, I went to Taiwan to promote Danganronpa V3, and while I was smoking a cigarette, the idea came to me. If I make their blood pink, it should be monster-like and that would fool Danganronpa fans."
(My own image of Kodaka when he invented the blood color trick):
Tumblr media
According to my search, the promotional event he mentioned seems to be the Taipei Game Show on January 12, 2017.
RAIN CODE's release date is June 30, 2023, which means it was conceived about six years ago.
------
Fourth place was "Yuma's identity". According to the MC, many fans said they were surprised by the fact that Yuma was Number One. As a review of this, a video of the scene where Yuma slashes Makoto's mask was shown.
Tumblr media
The MC then asked Fukuhara how he had taken care of the different voices of Yuma and Makoto after his mask was removed. Fukuhara replied: "At the time of the audition, I had already performed Makoto's lines, and I was instructed to say them in a different way from the usual Yuma, so I initially approached the recording of Makoto's voice with that in mind. However, I remember that I was often asked to speak a little more naturally, and that I often had to cut the acting that I had changed for Makoto."
Kodaka then added: "In fact, from my point of view, the difference in the acting was much clearer than I expected. Originally, the pupils of Yuma's and Makoto's eyes were not the same, but I realized that it made them look like different people. Because their voices are quite different. So we modified all the sprites and videos and changed Makoto's pupils to the key symbol to be the same as Yuma's. The video we saw earlier, where the pupils of the eyes overlap and then seem to separate, was also added at that time." The part of the video that Kodaka was referring to is the following part:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Incidentally, Kodaka actually mentioned "the shape of the iris," but I think it is probably more correct to say "pupil" rather than "iris," so I changed the term.
(By the way, I happened to mention in my previous post that Yuma's pupil shape was probably a keyhole, so I was kind of glad to see Kodaka explicitly mention it as a key symbol!)
This is just a side note, but I was expecting to see some mention of Makoto's original pupil design in the official art book, but the drawing that supposedly showed his original pupil shape was quite small and did not specifically mention what design it was. However, as far as I can tell, Makoto's original pupil shape was probably a raindrop.
Tumblr media
I am not very confident about this! So if anyone has the art book, I would appreciate your opinion on whether Makoto's pupils look like raindrops or not. (I was referring to the art on page 327.)
------
Third place was "The death of Yakou". When the MC read out a comment from a fan that he/she cried when Yakou died, Fukuhara said that he really cried when he acted out the lines of Yakou's death scene. Even though he cried while practicing his lines, he cried during the performance, but fortunately he was able to record the lines in one session without having to re-record them at all.
KENN was very surprised by this. According to him, usually when a crying line is performed, if the VA is really crying, there are noises such as sniffling, and in many cases the recording has to be re-recorded. So Fukuhara chuckled that the sound engineer probably did a good job of removing the noise.
------
Second place was "Yuma and Shinigami's farewell". A comment from a fan: The farewell scene between Yuma and Shinigami was very sad and made me cry, but the design of the design of the emergency exit made me laugh. *As briefly mentioned in the previous post, the emergency exit that Shinigami made appear looks very similar to "Anywhare Door (どこでもドア)", a tool that often appears in Doraemon.
Fukuhara: "The recording was really hard here, too..." KENN: "What do you mean, 'hard'?" Fukuhara: "I couldn't help but want to hug her!" KENN: "Oh, you mean that!" Suzushiro: "Ahahaha"
Suzushiro said: "Maybe some players imagined the possibility of Shinigami being a mastermind or a traitor, but in the end, she was a good girl to the end, and the fact that she smiled and said goodbye at the farewell was impressive because it was just like her."
Kodaka replied: "I think some players found Shinigami annoying when they first met her. But when it came time to say goodbye, I think they were like, "Oh, she was a nice girl". So I think it was a good farewell."
------
Finally, the first place winner was "Massacre of Master Detectives in Chapter 0".
Suzushiro: "I thought Chapter 0 was long in a good way. Kodaka: "Yes, it was long." Suzushiro: "But that was good! I was very curious to see what would happen in the rest of the story."
Ishikawa said that after the game's release, she looked at X and saw that many people were saddened by the death of their favorite character 😅
When the MC asked Sakakibara what he thought when he heard about the plan to kill off characters with such a great cast of voice actors in Chapter 0, Sakakibara replied with a bitter smile: "Uh, yeah. Well, to be honest, it cost a lot of money. The quality of the 3D models is the same as the other characters. Even the rough sketch drawn by Komatsuzaki-san is the same quality as the other characters. And yet, I felt a sense of shame that this was the only time they appeared in the game. Also, I was kind of heartbroken when we had to hide the fact that half of the characters they introduced during the promotion would be gone."
MC: "Kodaka-san, everyone was so heartbroken!" Kodaka: "Yeah. I guess everybody got mad at me. Haha. But since the title of the chapter is "Massacre on the Amaterasu Express," I guess players expected that someone would probably die. But I guess they might not have expected that all the detectives would die. I think that was a good hook."
------
That wraps up the first half of the event. The second half of the event does not include a story about the development of the game, but there were a lot of fun conversations that I can't wait to post!
Thanks for reading! 💖

demisexuality can be so hard to explain because it’s misconstrued as you just wanting to trust the other person before you have sex with them. and I get why the misconception happens. But demisexuality differs in that there isn’t sexual attraction at all before that bond forms.
I think what people have difficulty with is the idea that there are people out there who aren’t experiencing sexual attraction at all until a certain point, if ever, because we’re taught that sex, libido, and sexual attraction are all the same, both in and out of queer spaces.
And when you’re learning about asexuality and demisexuality, you may learn that people have romantic and aesthetic attraction separately from sexual attraction, and that sexual and romantic attraction aren’t necessarily intertwined, and that may challenge your worldview on sex.
But “I trust you enough to have sex with you” isn’t the same as “I’m not sexually attracted to anyone but you, and the reason I’m sexually attracted to you now after we’ve established this close bond is literally because of the bond of trust we’ve been able to form”.
It’s easy to see how those can get conflated. On the surface, if you’re unfamiliar with asexuality, they may sound the same. But it’s important to acknowledge the difference between “no sex until I trust you” and “no sexual attraction unless I trust you and maybe not even then”.
Demisexuality is housed under the asexuality spectrum. It’s part of the gray area between being allosexual and asexual. It’s part of why the definition for asexuality includes “little to no sexual attraction”. It’s a mostly asexual experience with an asterisk.
While being demisexual may have impacts on a persons sexual activity, even demisexuals have a varied relationship to the act of participating in sex. Libido and sexual attraction are not always intertwined either, which can make telling the difference tricky.
I think of sexual attraction as libido that has a compass. Since I rarely ever experience sexual attraction, but do have libido, it’s noticeable for me when that libido actually has a direction to go, rather than being a floating, nebulous, independent thing.
Remember, not everyone is demisexual. There’s a difference between waiting to have sex and not having sexual attraction at all until a certain point. This also inherently ties demisexuality to romantic attraction and relationships, and not all demisexuals are alloromantic.
But if you read what demisexuality is and think “everyone is like that” or “that’s just being a woman”, you either 1) are demisexual 2) don’t understand what it is or 3) both. And it’s okay to not know. Just as long as you’re willing to try to learn.

This idea was inspired by a discussion me and Pixel had. Makoto tries to work while he’s supposed to rest and Yuma catches him red handed, watching him rest and take of careful.
I like to image Yuma puts beep beep shoes on Makoto so each time he walks Yuma knows he’s trying to work when he’s not supposed to.

More notes under keep
Where I live there’s a kind of shoes called Beep Beep shoes(嗶嗶鞋) (there’s no English translation I could find atm). Toddlers wear this so parents don’t lose their child in a crowd, each time the kid walks the shoes go “beep beep beep”
Also I borrowed Pixels headcannon where homonculi have pink fever flushes instead of red cause their blood is pink! Thanks for the great headcannon!
