How Kinn Breaks The Fourth Wall
Okay, breaking may not be the right word. He’s leaning against it. Please take a look at this very important shot.
Tumblr media
Kinn is following Porsche as he gets escorted out of the room, then he averts his eyes and looks directly into the camera.
I’d like to point out that this is the second time Kinn has done this. The first time happens just a minute before this shot, when he orders Porsche to be locked up.
First rule of filmaking: Don’t look into the camera.
Looking into the camera is the most common form of fourth-wall breaking, often for comedy (see: Yok giving Porsche advice earlier in the episode). Kinn’s Meaningful Stare is neither a cheeky nor obvious takedown of the fourth wall, but he is toeing the line. Why?
He’s not just looking into the camera; he’s looking into us. He holds our gaze for a good nine seconds, and each carries so much weight.
Kinn is begging to be seen. The only person who has ever come close to seeing him, he has to push away. Kinn has no one to turn to.
So he turns to us, the only people who can extend him some modicum of empathy. Kinn is asking for a lot here. He just said he trusts no one, yet he is asking for our trust.
Kinn is trying to tell me that he has a plan. I don’t know what it is, but gdi this is the man that has gone out of his way to protect Porsche not once, not twice but three times. He throws himself into the line of fire for Porsche, takes a bullet for him, lets him see all the hidden pieces that Kinn has buried so deep he isn’t even sure they exist.
Fuck if I don’t trust him to do right by Porsche’s love and loyalty when he is asking so earnestly. Yes, I trust Kinn.
Do you?

Something about the whole "Eming is born of Hua Cheng's desire to live and Rouye is born of Xie Lian's desire to die," and then how Xie Lian wears funeral colours and Hua Cheng wears wedding colours. God oriented towards death and stillness and self-denial. Ghost oriented towards life and hope and happiness.

all right guys, let’s have a conversation about linguistic register, Lan Wangji, and I guess Wei Wuxian can come too
(and I do genuinely mean conversation, I’d love to hear other people’s input on this, because I did just write a long-ass post about the subjectivity of interpretation in translations)
So when I started interacting with the fandom and reading people’s fics, I got really confused by the way some folks were writing dialogue for Lan Wangji; he often sounded super awkward, spoke in fragments, and sometimes exclusively in third person. To be fair, all of those are elements of his speech at various times, but like, seeing it in English-language material felt like a really heavy-handed way of rendering it in translation?
Tumblr media
I guess when you use third person within the first three episodes of the show, it makes a pretty big impression on the audience
This is not at all intended to be a criticism of people who are 1000% writing and creating wonderful work, which is more than I can say for myself, but I want to poke and prod and tease at some linguistic nuance here.
Take a deep breath, grab a pot of tea (this’ll take more than a cup), because we’re going to take the scenic route on this one–
Keep reading

I read about this somewhere before. But, I thought they WQ and WWX were couple in the past and later wwx fall for lan zhan. I didn't like it. But I was ok. Since, Wangxian got together in the end(in Chinese bromance way) and WQ/WWX couple didn't happn anyway.
I love Wen Qing. I really do. But this ? No! Absolutely not! Mo Dao Zu Shi is love story of Wangxian, not one-sided love of Hangaung Jun. They relegated Lan Zhan to the side character. If they wanted a m/f pairing, they should have choosen a script of that gener. Why try to ruin a good thing?
CQL/The Untamed's Original script (Compilation of Deleted Scenes)
Note: This is an updated version of an old post from my sideblog. Leaks from the original script are still coming out occasionally so this post might have to be updated again sometime in the future.
Episode 13
Wei Wuxian saves Wen Qing from being hit by Wang Lingjiao's iron brand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🔗 Video
Wang Lingjiao attempts to burn Mianmian with the iron brand. Wen Qing pushes Mianmian away and she almost gets hit by the iron brand. Wei Wuxian swoops in and saves Wen Qing.
Wei Wuxian fell backwards, also knocking Wen Qing down, the two of them rolling across the ground together [...] Wei Wuxian looked down at his chest, his clothes were scorched black and smoke was rising from his burnt flesh.
Wen Qing: (whispering) "Wei Wuxian!"
Wei Wuxian smiled at her as if he wasn't hurt.
Wei Wuxian: "Wen Qing, take care of yourself,"
Then he got up and returned to the ongoing battle. Wen Qing reached out, wanting to hold on to him, but his robes slipped from her fingers.
(‼️ In the novel, Wei Wuxian rescued Mianmian.)
Episode 19
When Wei Wuxian gets caught by Wen Chao and Wang Lingjiao after the golden core transfer, they bring Wen Qing in and threaten to kill her in front of him.
Wang Lingjiao: "That day in Xuanwu Cave, the hero rescued this beautiful maiden. Does Miss Wen keep you inside her heart? Shall I rip her heart out so you can see it for yourself?"
Episode 36
When Wei Wuxian unseals Wen Ning's consciousness there are some deleted lines of Wei Wuxian inquiring after Wen Qing's whereabouts.
Tumblr media
🔗 Full video with audio
Wei Wuxian: "So that is to say...you have no idea where to find Wen Qing, either?"
Episode ???
Not sure which episode this is from but it should be post-reincarnation and before episode 39.
Wei Wuxian dreamed that after he fell off the cliff he woke up in a stone cave with his body covered in bandages. Wen Qing is in the cave with him, crushing herbs and brewing medicine.
Tumblr media
31-6
[...] He couldn't see the figures clearly, couldn't recognize who they were. They seemed to be calling his name but he couldn't hear them clearly. The sound of the wind whistling in his ears reminded him that he was falling. Wei Wuxian wore a smile on his face, unbothered by the prospect of imminent death. The edge of the cliff is getting farther and farther away from him....farther and farther away...
Boom!
A loud noise, and then the world around him was plunged into darkness.
31-7 [Dreamscape]
Time: Night
Location: Inside a room
Characters: Wei Wuxian, Wen Qing (with her face concealed)
Wei Wuxian wakes up in a stone cave outfitted with basic facilities. Medicine was being boiled in a small pot, and sitting on a bamboo table near him was a woman who was crushing medicinal herbs. His vision is blurry but he thinks this woman is Wen Qing.
He tried to call out to her but realized that he couldn't make a sound. He stretched out his hand, wanting to touch the woman and tell her that he was awake, but he couldn't move his body. After several attempts he could only lift his hand, and it was then that he saw that his arm was covered in bandages. The woman finally realized he was awake and she quickly rushed to his side, overjoyed.
She rushed to Wei Wuxian, bent down to look at him, and called out his name. He still couldn't see her face properly. Wei Wuxian was very anxious. He struggled, wanted desperately to talk to her, wanted to wave his hands. He wanted to see if the woman in front of him really was Wen Qing, but the more he struggled, the more his vision blurred. The image before him slowly started to fade, leaving only her hazy voice calling his name over and over again.
Wen Qing voiceover: (voice getting louder and louder) "Wei Wuxian! Wei Wuxian! Wei Wuxian!
Then the world was plunged into darkness once again.
31-8
Time: Day
Location: Guest Room
Character: Wei Wuxian
Wei Wuxian suddenly opened his eyes. His entire body was covered in cold sweat and he was panting lightly. For a moment, he was unable to tell whether the scene he saw was merely a dream, or if it was actually a memory.
Outside the window, dawn was just beginning to break, but Wei Wuxian could no longer fall asleep.
(‼️ These scenes seem to imply that after he fell off the cliff, Wen Qing took him away, brought him somewhere else, and then tried to save him. In the novel, he was ripped to shreds by fierce ghosts and didn't leave an intact corpse, but the way he died in CQL should have left a corpse. This is a 'plothole' that people have been bringing up often since the show first aired. These deleted scenes with Wen Qing could explain why nobody found Wei Wuxian's body, and also why Jiang Cheng managed to retrieve the flute from the bottom of the cliff, but not his corpse.)
Episode 39
Wei Wuxian walks around Tanzhou city market and mistakes a random woman in red for Wen Qing.
Tumblr media
33-33
Time: Night
Location: Tanzhou City Gate
Characters: Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji, Wen Qing (illusion), Random woman in red
A woman in dressed in red stood under a lantern. She turned her head and smiled at Wei Wuxian. It was Wen Qing. Wei Wuxian stared at her in a daze. He slowly reached out a hand, wanting to call out to her, but hesitated.
Wei Wuxian: (in a soft voice) "...Wen Qing?"
But then reality struck him as the woman turned around. Although she had a lovely face, she was not Wen Qing.
Wei Wuxian: (Had a blank look on his face, then he laughed casually) "Sorry about that! I mistook you for somebody else,"
The woman covered her mouth, and walked away with a smile. Wei Wuxian sighed softly, then turned around and saw Lan Wangji standing under a dim lantern.
Episode 43
Wei Wuxian asks Lan Xichen about the scars on Lan Wangji's back. Lan Xichen tells him that back when Wen Qing surrendered herself for punishment to the Jin clan, Lan Wangji broke into Jinlintai to rescue her, and fought with cultivators from the LanlingJin and GusuLan in order to protect her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🔗 Full video
36-17 [Memories]
In the dungeons of Jinlintai, where Wen Qing is being held as prisoner, the Jin cultivators standing guard suddenly fall unconscious to the floor.
36-18 [Memories]
Lan Wangji enters the dungeon where Wen Qing is held captive. He asks her to leave with him and she refuses. Lan Wangji tells her that by sacrificing herself, she's only hurting Wei Wuxian. She asks him if she has any other choice.
Wen Qing: "Then tell me, Hanguang-jun, is there any other path I can take?"
Lan Wangji fell silent. Wen Qing turned away from him.
Lan Wangji: "Wei Ying also asked me this question,"
Tears finally started falling from Wen Qing's eyes.
Lan Wangji: "I now have an answer, I'll help you,"
Wen Qing turned to look at Lan Wangji. Her face was streaked with her tears and her expression was uncertain.
Lan Xichen voiceover: "Wangji fought and injured thirty cultivators from the LanlingJin and the GusuLan in order to rescue Miss Wen. This matter was kept secret, and the Jin clan did not wish to make it public. It could have been swept under the rug, but I didn't expect that later on..."
36-19 [Memories]
Lan Wangji stands in front of the Burial Mounds, surrounded by other cultivators and Su She (I think this is the scene where Lan Wangji says: "You are not qualified to talk to me" but the rest of the script is not visible in the photo)
(‼️In the novel, the one that Lan Wangji rescued was Wei Wuxian. Lan Wangji fought and injured 33 Lan elders in order to protect him, and because of that he was punished severely using a discipline whip, which left him with deep scars on his back. This is one of the most important WangXian scenes and is a major turning point in their relationship)
Episode 46
In Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng's argument leading up to the golden core reveal, Jiang Cheng says that he thinks Wen Qing is alive. He then accuses Wei Wuxian of hiding her from him. Wei Wuxian insists that he doesn't know where Wen Qing is either.
Tumblr media
(Can you tell whose script this is? It's Xiao Zhan's 😂)
Episode 50
After the conversation with Nie Huaisang in Cloud Recesses, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji part ways. Lan Wangji leaves to become Chief Cultivator while Wei Wuxian goes on a journey to find Wen Qing. The story ends after Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian reunite.
Tumblr media
42-51
After their confrontation with Nie Huaisang in Cloud Recesses, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji part ways.
They are finally going in different directions. They stood facing each other, the breeze rustling their robes.
Lan Wangji: "Have you decided where to go?"
Wei Wuxian looked up at the white clouds floating in the sky and shook his head.
Wei Wuxian: "I haven't. I think I'll go look for Wen Qing. Perhaps she's still alive,"
Wei Wuxian then turned and led Little Apple down the mountain path. With his back turned to him, Wei Wuxian raised his hand and waved.
Wei Wuxian: "Lan Zhan, goodbye,"
Wei Wuxian walked into the distant mountains, amongst the emerald-colored greenery. Lan Wangji watched Wei Wuxian's retreating figure before slowly turning around and walking in a different direction.
42-52
Lan Wangji suddenly stopped walking. He could hear the sound of the flute Chenqing from a distance, playing a very familiar Gusu tune.
Wei Wuxian voiceover: "Lan Zhan, the next time we meet each other, you better have a name for this song,"
Lan Wangji did not look back, but there was a smile on his face.
Lan Wangji: "Way ahead of you,"
Lan Wangji shook the hems of his robes, and continued walking forward.
42-53
Wei Wuxian played a tune on his flute as he rode on top of his donkey. Suddenly, a familiar voice called out to him from behind.
Wen Qing voiceover: "Wei Wuxian!"
Wei Wuxian was stunned. He slowly put Chenqing down and turned his head to look behind him.

Character Biography
It's stated in both of their CQL character descriptions that Wen Qing is alive, and that Wei Wuxian looks for her at the end.
Tumblr media
WEN QING
'Wen Ruohan's niece, descended from the branch side of the Wen family, who is a highly respected medical practitioner. She is known as a peerless beauty of the realm and has a generous and proud personality, but she is very shy when it comes to her feelings. Afraid that other people will say that she likes Wei Wuxian, she took great pains to hide the admiration that she felt for him in her heart. After the fall of the Wen clan, she was rescued by Wei Wuxian and the two of them become a quarrelsome yet loving couple who relied on each other for support. Later on, Wen Qing rescued a heavily injured Wei Wuxian, then she disappeared without a trace.'
WEI WUXIAN
[...] After his return, he worked together with Lan Wangji to solve the mysteries of his past, and in the end, he went to find Wen Qing.
(‼️ There are more deleted scenes that were leaked but they were very minor, inconsequential scenes: Wen Qing fainting in Wei Wuxian's arms, the two of them holding hands in Qiongqi pass, the two of them sitting together in the floor of Xuanwu cave, etc, etc, and since tumblr limits the amount of photos per post, I only chose the most plot-relevant leaks. Most of them can still be found on weibo)

Lan Wangji did not look back, but there was a smile on his face.
Lan Wangji: "Way ahead of you,"
Lan Wangji shook the hems of his robes, and continued walking forward.

Wen Qing voiceover: "Wei Wuxian!"
Wei Wuxian was stunned. He slowly put Chenqing down and turned his head to look behind him.

Relationship between E-ming and Xie Lian
Ok I won't comment on if E-ming is a child or not. Since I believe everyone deserves to have their own take on this. (Though it looks like mine is the unpopular one .....again)
But about E-ming being in love with xl. I don't believe that. At all. If it was true, there is no way in hell hc would allow E-ming to bath or sleep in the same bed with xl. But it happens- quite often too. It can mean only two thing.
One, E-ming and HC are one being without separate consiousness. In that case Hua Cheng won't mind what xl and E-ming do together. But as we know, it's canonical incorrect.
The other option is E-ming don't have any non platonic feeling for xl. In this case, Hua Cheng doesn't mind(too much ) that E-ming spend time with a naked xl. Instead, indulge him like he is an irritating but beloved pet.
Though if xl suddenly got possessed by yiling laozu and does wwx+bichen thing, Hua Cheng will give E-ming the beating of his life. Hell, he might even break him!
(Edit:- I don't know if it's obvious. But I agree with second option. E-ming is like a child version of Hua Cheng. He loves and wants to protect Xei Lian like HC. But don't want him that way . In my head canon, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian have two kids- Ruoye and E-ming- and thousands of adopted kids in The Ghost City. )

People in the world - by Hua Cheng
Mr. Hua Cheng is a very distinguished personality in 3 realms. Mortal worship him, Gods fear him and Ghosts respect and adore him. He is the one and only 'Crimson Rain Shought Flower' the supreme Ghost King of land.
Recently, he published a book to enlighten the masses. A very important excerpt of the book is presented here
"There are two kind of people in the world:
1. Dianxia
2. The Others
First is the only thing matters in the world. He should be revered, loved , worshipped by everyone(Kissed , hugged, and 'loved' by only me). He deserves the best (like me) in the world.
The second category divided into 2 subcategories.
1. Who are nice to Dianxia:-
They should be treated with bare minimum of kindness. Since they have a good head on their shoulders, they could keep it there without fear. By Dianxia's blessings, I'll make sure that happens.
2. Who are rude to Dianxia/ hurt Dianxia.
They deserve to be universally hated. They should be hanged on a spike. But ....they should not die. They should live a life worse than death.
Of course, like everything in the world, there are some exceptions to the rule.
1. The 1st, the most important exception, Goushi should also be treated with utmost respect. After all he is Dianxia's Seffu. He should be second to Dianxia.
2. The 2nd exception is The Black Water. That creature has been with me for hundreds of years. I've grown used to feeding him, and listening to his useless prattle {a.n- BW prattles?! Why don't you admit you like talking to him?!}. The fool owes me a lot of money, anyway. So, he should be kept around to run my errands.
3. The former Wind Master is the 3rd exception. He is Dianxia's friend. He was nice to Dianxia when others were busy mocking Dianxia. So he deserves a bit of extra kindness and respect. I don't need to protect his life, though. There is Black Water for that.
4. Another special case are Mu Qing and Feng Xin. These two baffons, surprisingly, belong to both subcategories. So, they should be despised and insulted but should not be harmed(too much)."
This excerpt sure is enlightening. I do not need explain in detail the purpose of the excerpt, do I? Please be cautious and start praying the Scraps....... I mean 'Flower Crown Martial God' or 'Crown Prince who Pleased the God.' May the lord bless us!

The Names of Devotion
Part1 Part2 Part3 Part4
The Nameless Young Soldier -2
The Land Of Tender
The cave was a scene of nightmare. Blood, human organs, and limbs strewn everywhere. In the middle was a young woman. A creature was eating her organs while she was still alive. Dianxia was quick to blast the creature away and inquiry after the girl.
He tried stop Dianxia from going near the girl by warning it might be a trap. Of course, Dianxia didn't listen. Dianxia would rather risk a trap than leave an innocent girl to her death. In time like this, Hong'er really wished Dianxia was a selfish person. At least he would be safer then.
As suspected, the girl was really a trap. Hong'er had never felt more panicked. He had to use all his strength to drag that girl away from Dianxia. But it was already too late. There was something wrong with the flower the girl was wearing and it did something to Dianxia.
Soon the cave was filled with voice and laughter of women. They realised the laughter was coming from the flower. Those voice were giggling and sprouting about 'deflower', 'abstinence' and level. He couldn't understand any of that. But he knew non of those things were good for Dianxia. Yet, he could do nothing as they continue to taunt and insult Dianxia.
As the taunts grew more and more explicit, understanding slowly dawned on him. Growing up in the street he was not as innocent as other 13 olds.He had seen many filthy and dirty human behaviour. But he never related such things with Dianxia.
Not that it was Dianxia's fault. Of course not....It's just........Dianxia always seemed so otherworldly, far removed from any wordly desire. He was shocked seeing his Dianxia so gloriously....undone.
Beside shock, he could feel something else. Something like a butterfly was fluttering in his lower belly. His heart was beating so fast that he was afraid it would jump out of his chest. He had no Idea what was wrong with him.
He was honestly relieved, when Dianxia ordered him to get out of the cave. He tried not think about the disheveled state of Dianxia. It helped that those shameless 'women' tried to get past him into the cave. He focused on keeping them away from Dianxia. If they tried to come close to cave he sturk them with sword, otherwise ignored their naked antics.
"Don’t‌ ‌look‌ ‌at‌ ‌them...”‌ ‌ came the raspy voice from inside the cave.
Before he could reassure that he was fine, a new creature emerged from the soil. Only this one was not a woman.
Bathed in moonlight the person's body was smooth and pale like a jade. The waist was delicately narrow, yet the arms and chest rippled with enough power to carry the world in his shoulders. The long hair like was like a dark cloud swaying in the gentle breeze. The fluttering long lashes kissing his cheeks, the deliciously swollen lips raised into an alluring smile, all those created the most beautiful face in the world. His Dianxia's face.
Suddenly he couldn't breath. If before Dianxia's state has shaken him, now he couldn't even think. He knew it was wrong to look. Even if this person wasn't Dianxia. It was still an imitation of Dianxia's own body. It was the a violation of his person. Yet, he couldn't look away. He didn't even know if he was capable of moving a single muscle.
It was the rowdy laughter of those creatures woke him from his daze. He realised from their suggestion and action that his body had reacted. Reacted in a completely unfamiliar way, it hadn't when these hundreds of women tried to tempt him before. And he was having such reaction to Dianxia!
He lashes out at those creatures with his sword. He was really mad! Mad at himself, at his disgusting body reaction. Even more mad at these creatures who dared to take Dianxia's holy form. How dare they?!
Before he could grab onto that anger to get back his control and ignore his body's reaction, a wretched moan came from inside the cave.
That sound! It penetrated to his very core! He had never heard such sound before. It didn't sound painful, yet it was agonized somehow.
He took a ragged breath in and inquired in a quivering voice if Dianxia was alright. Yet the answer never came. As he was about to enter the cave, Dianxia shouted to not come inside no matter what happened.
So he could only stood outside. This time he listened to Dianxia and closed his eyes. He was afraid to catch another glimpse of that fake Dianxia. It turned out to be very bad idea. With eyes closed, his hearing was sharper. Now he could hear every little grunts, whimpers erupted from inside the cave. Each sound sent a delicious shiver down his back. However, he didn't open his eyes. He had no idea what he would do if he saw a naked seductive Dianxia again.
This time he could feel his body reacting in that unfamiliar way. It was an agonizing feeling yet, somehow, inexplicably pleasurable. He felt dizzy with an unknown desire. He wondered if Dianxia was also feeling like this.
Another quite moan answered him. Yes, this was what Dianxia was feeling. Somehow that realisation made the situation even worse.
If he wasn't so aware of each sound living Dianxia's mouth, he couldn't have heard his breathy command to come inside. On instinct he turned to follow Dianxia's order. Then hesitated remembering Dianxia's behemoth insistence to not come inside no matter what. Dianxia clearly remembered it too so he once again order Hong'er to come inside.
Without anymore hesitation, Hong'er quickly went inside and offered his sword when he was asked. He was careful to put the sword within reach of Dianxia. Following Dianxia's order, he went to assist Dianxia up, only for his hand to shrank back.
Dianxia's upper body was completely bare! He recalled the tearing sounds he heard before. Oh! Was that the sound of Dianxia tore his clothes?
He quickly shake his head to clear it and took a deep breath. He needed to help Dianxia, not focus on such absurd thoughts. So he carefully circled Dianxia's shoulder and helped him to lean against the cave well. As soon as his task was completed, he turned around to leave.
However, Dianxia ordered Hong'er to stay and help Dianxia cut a lock of his hair. He obediently raised his hand to get a lock of hair. Yet, instead of hair, he touched the bare skin of Dianxia. His chest was feverishly warm, soft and supple with a layer of sweat. A bundle of smooth pebbled flesh rubbed against Hong'er's palm, sending jolts of electricity into his every nerve ending. And....
Dianxia moaned!
They both froze for a moment at the sound.
With Dianxia's encouragement he tried again. Each time, Hong'er touched Dianxia's bare skin, Dianxia would make another one of those sounds. However, Hong'er realised, it was not same sound as before. These sounds, they sounded different somehow. More pleasure than agony.
Hong'er realised - with a heady feeling- what this might mean. Dianxia actually liked his touch! This thought almost intoxicated him.
No! He should not have had such thoughts! Dianxia didn't want his touch. Nobody would want his touch. It was those damned flower demons. Yes! They were making Dianxia like this.
He hardened his resolve and trace a path from Dianxia's abdomen to hair. Only he wasn't as quick as he should be. He felt guilty, but the more he touched Dianxia, the more he wanted. Each contact was like fire, burnt through his skin to imprint on his very soul. It didn't help that Dianxia continued to make those wretched sounds.
For a delirious moment he thought about replacing his hand with his mouth and tongue. Tracing every line and curve of Dianxia with his mouth tongue and squeeze out more of those delicious sounds.
Finally Hong'er's hand touched Dianxia's bobbling Adam's apple. His hand guiltily lingered there for a moment longer than it should. He swallowed hard and slide his hand back to Dianxia's nap to caught a lock of hair. He shook his head to get rid of the feverish haze and quickly cut a lock.
Then, to his surprise , Dianxia tied the lock of hair into a knot around his third finger. He said it was for his protection, before sending him out of the cave once again.
This time he didn't need to close his eyes, to ignore the pale imitation of Dianxia. Instead, his focus was on the lock of hair tied around his finger. A part of Dianxia belonged to Hong'er alone. Only his to keep and possess. He realised he liked it. Very much so.
He could still feel the want coursing through his body and feel his blood boiling with desire. All his senses occupied with Dianxia's touch, smell, his softness, and warmth.....He realised he wanted a part of Dianxia for himself. He wanted to posses to have it. He wanted......
AN - ok a fun fact. I'm sure, you all have heard people bragging about doing something with eyes closed. But I wrote this post literally eyes closed. I was stuck with this chapter. I couldn't be satisfied with the 4 or 5 drafts I've written before. Either I feel like there was not enough tension or the tension is too explicit for an sexual awakening. I don't know how, last night I was almost sleepy when I was stuck by inspiration and had to write it. Mind you when I'm sleepy I'm almost like a drunk lan wangji. I do and speak nonsense and forget in the morning. (It's really awkward sometimes when I'm trying to look like someone who is not sleeping in classes). So I wrote the whole chapter half asleep. When the morning come I didn't remember what I have written. Only a vague memory of wanting to write. So I was like "oh my God! I hope I didn't post it in tumbler or reddit!" Thankfully I didn't. And the draft was also surprisingly good! Only a few missing words and 1st pov instead of 3rd pove like I was supposed to write in this post. Just a few edits and! voila!

Names of Devotion:
Part1 Part2 part3
The Nameless Young Soldier
Hong Hong'er watched and worried as the streets became crowded with starving people. As more and more yong'an people set up tents in the empty fields. As the tension in the air grew thicker and thicker. With each day the dread in his heart grew. He could tell that something bad was going to happen.
While the world could burn to ground for all he cared. But Xian Le was Dianxia's country, after all. Dianxia was Xian Le Crown Prince. Knowing him, he would definitely get involved in this to protect the common people.
And Hong'er was right.
It wasn't long before he heard Dianxia had descended to protect Xian Le. Dianxia would lead the army against Yong'an people. So he hide his true age and joined the army. How couldn't he, when Dianxia was out in the battlefield? He must fight in front of Dianxia and protect him from up coming danger with his life.
[Your‌ ‌Highness,‌ ‌you‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌remember‌ ‌this‌ ‌brat?‌ ‌During‌ ‌the‌ ‌day‌ ‌today‌ ‌he‌ ‌kept‌ ‌charging‌ ‌to‌ ‌fight‌ ‌in‌ ‌front‌ ‌of‌ ‌you,‌ ‌in‌ ‌that‌ ‌formation‌ ‌that‌ ‌was‌ ‌ahead.”‌ ‌] feng Xin ch79
Another perk of joining the army was that he could see Dianxia often. He could now follow Dianxia all day long. So when Dianxia went out of the after battle celebration he also followed him. Soon, those two followers, Mu Qing and Feng Xin, also joined Dianxia.
Hong'er had envied and coveted many things in this world, but he had never envied anyone or anything as much as these two. How great a fortune they must have had to get to stand beside Dianxia. He would do anything, give anything, to get such a chance.
He was saddened to find that his Dianxia had been going to Yong'an to create rain. If he was creating rain in Yong'an, then fighting a war in Xian Le, when did he rest? Dianxia's heart is really too big for his own good.
Danm! He got distracted! Dianxia found his hiding spot and threw him off the wall. He braced for the pain of hitting the ground from a high wall. It would surely hurt if not kill him. "Oh well. To die in Dianxia's hand is also a good fortune." He thought.
To his astonishment, Dianxia flew after him and caught him mid air - saving his life. Once again. Really how many more times Dianxia need to save his life? When would he be strong enough to save himself and protect Dianxia?
After Dianxia get him back up, that grumpy one mu qing almost killed him as a traitor. Thank God , the other one was smarter than he looked and identify him as Dianxia's soldier. At least one of them was using their head. Idiots!'
One moment Dianxia was talking, in next an arrow flew up toward him. For once he was quick enough to pull Dianxia out of the harm's way.
Soon the whole situation turned into a mess and he was running after Dianxia in a forest. Dianxia being the selfless god that he was, tried to stop him from following him into danger. Now, he had to be quick before he lose complete track of Dianxia.
By the time he arrived Dianxia was already surrounded by some disgusting creatures. After a quick clean up, Dianxia sent his useless cousin away. Leaving only the two off them to fight.
It was .... exhilarating - terrifying, yes, but exhilarating -to fight side by side Dianxia. He wished he could do this his whole life, protecting Dianxia, fighting common enemies with him.
Later his highness praised his sword skill! He said his form was better suited for saber, though. No one had ever praised Hong'er for anything. Never. To think there would be a day when he was praised by Dianxia himself! He looked at that sword in his hand and wished it were a saber.
What was more, his Dianxia looked so passionate, so lively discussing swords, and sabers and martial arts. He had never seen such an Dianxia. He had caught small glimpse of him smiling, laughing while he was with those two idiots. But, never this.....lively.
Dianxia looked so young then.
He was young, Hong'er recalled. Dianxia was not that much older than him. Usually Dianxia ran around carrying the weight of the world that he always seemed older than he really was. But, there discussing martial arts theories, he looked his age for once. He looked even more beautiful. The sight was breathtaking!
[If‌ ‌ever‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌saw‌ ‌someone‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌notable‌ ‌skill‌ ‌in‌ ‌martial‌ ‌arts,‌ ‌he‌ ‌couldn’t‌ ‌help‌ ‌but‌ ‌want‌ ‌to‌ ‌approach‌ ‌and‌ ‌talk.‌ ‌It‌ ‌wasn’t‌ ‌criticism‌ ‌of‌ ‌any‌ ‌sort,‌ ‌he‌ ‌really‌ ‌was‌ ‌just‌ ‌very‌ ‌interested‌ ‌and‌ ‌wanted‌ ‌to‌ ‌exchange‌ ‌ideas.‌ ‌Because‌ ‌he‌ ‌possessed‌ ‌a‌ ‌wealth‌ ‌of‌ ‌experience‌ ‌in‌ ‌martial‌ ‌arts,‌ ‌oftentimes‌ ‌he‌ ‌needn’t‌ ‌to‌ ‌think;‌ ‌just‌ ‌one‌ ‌glance‌ ‌and‌ ‌he‌ ‌could‌ pick‌ ‌up‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌particulars.‌ ‌Even‌ ‌if‌ ‌he‌ ‌couldn’t‌ ‌explain‌ ‌why‌ ‌what‌ ‌was,‌ ‌still‌ ‌he‌ ‌would‌ ‌feel‌ ‌it‌ must‌ ‌be‌ ‌so.‌ ‌Usually,‌ ‌out‌ ‌of‌ ‌respect‌ ‌for‌ ‌his‌ ‌status,‌ ‌people‌ ‌would‌ ‌listen‌ ‌but‌ ‌there‌ ‌were‌ l very‌ ‌few‌ ‌who’d‌ ‌actually‌ ‌pay‌ ‌attention.‌ ‌However,‌ ‌that‌ ‌boy‌ ‌listened‌ ‌intently,‌ ‌gobbled‌ ‌up‌ ‌his‌ ‌suggestions,‌ ‌and‌ ‌would‌ ‌look‌ ‌down‌ ‌at‌ ‌the‌ ‌sword‌ ‌in‌ ‌his‌ ‌hand‌ ‌from‌ ‌time‌ ‌to‌ ‌time.‌] ch 37 of book 3
He remembered, years ago, Dianxia telling Mu Qing that he suited for saber. But he hadn't looked this excited then. For the first time, Hong'er felt pride for himself. Hong'er swore then and there to discard sword and take a saber instead. He will be the best saber wielder in the whole world!
Note- I was going to leave this and skip right to land of tender. But after I reread the chapter. I realised I can't. This scene is not as thrilling or as significant for the book (and xl) but it was important to hc in many ways. It was the first time someone praised instead of calling him a monster or star of misfortune. This is the first time he saw the youthful personality of xl for the first time. Most important, this is the moment gave birth to our cutest (and deadliest) E-ming.

10 Strange and hilarious Facts About Mo Dao Zu Shi
This is posted on Moxiang Tongxiu (Mo Dao Zu Shi’s author)’s personal Weibo on 31/10/2017, in celebration of the novel’s second anniversary. Translated badly by tumblr user my-otp-list.
1. Fairy is actually a Husky. When I set up this character, I didn’t know that huskies were… not that intelligent, so now in my mind Fairy still has the look of a Husky. Let’s just think that Fairy is an extremely intelligent mutated Husky okay…
2. Lan Qiren has a beard from a young age. However, it was shaved clean by Zangse Sanren. He was so mad!
Later, the son of Zangse Sanren also shaved his beard… (but I did not write about it).
*For those who don’t know, Zangse Sanren is Wuxian’s mother.

3. When Jin Guangyao took in Lan Xichen during his runaway, Guangyao sort of became Xichen’s assistant.
Guangyao helped wash Xichen’s clothes, because Xichen himself did not know how to wash. It was not possible to ask others to wash, because it would be dangerous if the cloud patterns were recognised. Moreover the clothes could not be thrown away or burnt.
Jin Guangyao used to complain to Nie Mingjue that Lan Xichen’s arm was too strong that he tore apart his clothes while washing…

4. It was way too easy to make Xingchen laugh. Both Xueyang and Ah Qing knew about this but they would never tell Xingchen. Song Lan did not know about this, because the dude never ever laughed…

5. Jiang Cheng went to 3 blind dates. For various reasons, he got blacklisted by all the female cultivators.
Here are Jiang Cheng’s requirements in his partner: naturally beautiful, graceful and obedient, hard-working and thrifty, coming from a respected family, cultivation level not too high, personality not too strong, talking not too much, voice not too loud, spending money not too much. And must treat Jin Ling nicely.

6. Lan Sizhui is older than Jin Ling, but both of them are 172-cm tall. Sizhui suffered from malnutrition when he was a child, and only ate bland food when he was growing up, therefore his development is a bit slow…
Lan Jingyi is 168-cm tall.

7. In order to confess to Jiang Yanli, Jin Zixuan specifically hired someone to write a long long long cheesy essay, and he learnt it by heart. Turned out he did not use a single sentence.
One day, after their marriage, he felt that the opportunity had come, so he read it out loud to Jiang Yanli. Upon hearing it, Jiang Yanli gently stroked his cheek, turned her back and walked away. She was graceful enough to not roll on the floor laughing in front of her husband.

8. Lan Wangji has known very early on that Wei Wuxian is afraid of dogs.
Jin Zixuan used to own a dog, and he left it at the foot of Cloud Recesses’ mountain. One day, the dog ran up the mountain right when Wuxian was sneaking in through the wall. The dog snarked loudly at him; he was so scared he immediately ran to hide in a tree. It was Lan Wangji that chased the dog away.
However, Wuxian thought that Wangji did not see him trembling on the tree.
9. Even though Lan Wangji never talks about it, Wei Wuxian discovers that Lan Wangji loves to use all sorts of things to tie him up during (…)

10. Between the seme and the uke, Wei Wuxian was the first character to be set up.
Back then I even ranted on Weibo, “This uke is giving me so much headache; I don’t know what kind of seme I should give him!”
The seme has gone though many changes in personalities, appearances, ages, backgrounds, back stories… such a complicated process!
But in the end, a flash of Heaven’s light came right through me, I slammed the table and chose the very first version - “This is him!“
It can be seen that Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are fated to be together. No matter what happens, in the end it will always be that person.
