just ordered 500 liters of coffee and finished my laundry and i'm finally ready to cram my two big ass textbooks for The Test on monday but let me scroll on my socials like for 5 minutes,
Person B is lying on Person A's chest when Person A called.
"B,"
"What?"
It takes a whole minutes before Person A continues: "I love you."
Person B laugh, "we've been dating for 7 years but it's still make you this nervous every time you say that?"
"No, I'm not,"
"I can hear your heartbeat and it's been crazy for 5 minutes now, you know?" Person B looks up, smirking, "I love you too, by the way."
It's not that I don't want to support their creative direction, but:
So many people have already mentioned that with the scale of their channel, they're not supposed to have financial issues in the first place
Wasn't watching, not skipping ads, promoting, and sharing their videos to reach more people counted as support before?
I don't have spare $6 to spend. I don't even have Netflix/Disney/Hulu etc subs
I don't live in the US—$6 is 100K here, which is a lot. My rent is 800K a month, how do I justify paying 1/8 of my rent to watch 4-6 videos when I definitely will be kicked out if I don't pay my rent in full (if they've made bad financial decisions and are facing a crisis, then I shall learn the lesson, shouldn't I?)
I personally never asked for extravagant production value, but if they want to have extravagant production value and I need to pay to watch, then their content is not for me I guess
I will not continue to watch their vids again after this, so this will be once and for all. I was really having a good time with their shows over the years, I truly hope they succeed.
in honor of steven and the ghoul boys shitting the proverbial bed, here's some of my favorite youtube channels/podcasts with similar vibes!
michael reeves: an extremely unhinged youtuber who makes robots! he only posts once or twice a year, but his videos are super worth it!
sorta stupid: my favorite reaction channel. these guys are super chill and funny, and they are the ultimate allies (go check out their toh series if you wanna see them be huge lumity shippers!)
microwave society: they also do reactions, but they specialize in shitty kids movies (and the occasional classic like megamind or shrek). check out their veggietales videos if you want to laugh until you puke.
max0r: does unhinged video game reviews that are like crack for people with adhd.
anthpo: he's not making videos anymore, but all his stuff is up on youtube and he perfectly balances feel-good and funny.
cryptid keeper podcast: this podcast has major early-unsolved vibes and they somewhat have the skeptic/believer dynamic as well.
Yuki gets emotionally abused over his feelings so much that even when he has legitimate cause for anger, he holds back in the media because you know how the narratives will narrative
actually yukierre is the definition of life imitates art. because wdym they had two occasions of first mets and both are romcom meet-cute materials? like
meeting your future teammate after treating yourself a big portion of ramen and their first impression is your garlicky breath?????? AND
having your sleep disturbed in the middle of the night because your hotel neighbor is screaming on his playstation and the next day you find out you two are going to work together??????
tbf i expected (or wishful thought) them to be best duo on the grid this season, but with the tension and everything i kinda understand if they didn't. i don't really buddy buddy w my coworkers either and we worked tgt just fine, so long as they work professionally on team and PR schedules i don't think that matters (the fuss will die down once we got to see them having fun in their yt contents anyways).
i just want both of them to do well. the car seems less tractor-ing than their previous seasons so i really hope they can work it out.
edit: also i just remember that yuki said him and daniel worked well together (surprise surprise) on sky interview earlier. idt anyone record it but yeah pls just believe me
