I'm reading it for the fourth time right now and that's so true😅 I keep wanting to compare things to scenes from The Silmarillion, but no one I know has read it and they wouldn't get it.
I love this fandom, look at this person's comment:

In Chains And Yet Free
Pairing: Rog x fem!Reader
Summary: After the Fall of Gondolin, you and Rog are captured and brought to Angband.
Warnings: mentiones of the Fall of Gondolin, Injuries, talking about death (it's way more hopeful than this makes it sound, I promise)
♡♡♡♡♡♡
You were the only person Rog recognised. There was of course the possibility that there were others from Gondolin here, but if they were he hadn't been able to find them.
He had never intended to return to this cursed place, he had been ready to end his own life. But then he had seen how you had been dragged along.
He had loved you for a long time. Back then you had sometimes come to his forge and brought him flowers from outside because you found the forge 'too dull' otherwise.
Angband was no place for someone like you. You loved nature and its wonders. You loved the animals and the feel of the sun on your skin. Looking you had always shown him that there was more than the darkness.
On nights when he had had the feeling that the darkness was closing in on him again, he had sought you out. It was enough to see you from afar, because no matter how dark the sky was, you were his light.
He couldn't leave you alone. The painful and draining working conditions in Angband would kill you, and even if you were reembodied, you wouldn't be the same. Not of you died alone in the darkness.
Rog couldn't let that happen.
Luckily, Morgoth didn't really care what happened to his workers as long as the work got done.
So it didn't bother anyone when he sneaked out of his cell one evening to look for you. The labourers' cells were never well secured, because to escape Angband you had to cross a river of lava and a high wall, not to mention several balrogs and thousands of orcs. So it was almost impossible. He had only managed to escape by luck. He and a few others, who later became members of his house in Gondolin, had found a forgotten tunnel that led outside. But Rog was sure that they had filled in the tunnel or let it collapse by now.
The heat cut into his face as his dry eyes searched for you and it wasn't long before he found you. You lay shivering in a corner of your own cell and only moved when he opened the door.
Your eyes grew wide. "Rog?" Your voice trembled and tears escaped your eyes. "Oh no," you shake." You cannot be here again! That- " You let out a quiet sob and stumbled to your feet.
That was so you again. Rog felt a pleasant tingling sensation, which he had always felt when you had brought him flowers. Of course you thought of him first and not that you were in the same situation.
"How are you?" he asked gently, running his eyes carefully over your body.
"I am fine, don't worry. Especially now that you are here," you whispered softly, but Rog had just discovered a burn on your forearm that you had probably sustained while working.
He gently reached for your arm and then pulled out an ointment and rubbed it gently into your burned skin. "Me and a few others made this years ago from the few plants you can find here," he explained in response to your questioning look. "The ointment helps with healing and soothes the pain, but it doesn't prevent scars." Out of the corner of his eye, he saw you swallow and nod.
His eyes rested for a moment longer on the burn on your arm. You'd only been here a day and you were already hurt. Why hadn't he managed to find you sooner?
"I am sorry," he whispered and felt tears welling up in his eyes.
"No Rog," you breathed and put a hand on his cheek. "That you are here shows me that not all is lost."
He didn't say anything but simply leant his head against your shoulder. Because your warmth was different from the heat of Angband. It was gentle, like the first rays of the sun on a spring morning.
-
The days went by and it wasn't often that Rog let you out of his sight. You were always together. Every night you slept arm in arm and even though the smoke in Angband slowly washed the scent of flowers from your hair and body, Rog always noticed that you still smelled like home to him.
It was on one of these nights that you suddenly said: "A month."
"Mmmh?"
"We've been here for a month now. It would be high summer in Gondolin now and the smell of flowers and strawberries would fill the streets." You were lying with your back to Rog. He had one arm wrapped around your waist and his chest was pressed against your back.
Rog didn't know why, but he asked you: "Did you have plans for this summer?" The question was pointless. No matter what your plans had been, you were here now and not in Gondolin. Your plans no longer mattered.
"I would have liked to get married," you said quietly and Rog froze. He hadn't expected that. "Of course, I would have had to confess my feelings to the love of my life first." You laughed softly, but it was a sad laugh. "I always thought I still had so much time."
Rog's arm tightened a little and he inevitably pulled you closer to him. "I am so sorry."
"What are you talking about?" you asked quietly. "It is not your fault, my dear Rog. If you were not here, who knows how I would feel. You are my light in this darkness."
"I love you." he said, because in his head those were the only words that made sense now. The only ones he wanted to say. Who knows what happened in the next few days, but he wanted you to know how he felt and that he was yours for the next few hours.
"Rog." you breathed softly and turned round in his arms until you were lying chest to chest with him and could feel his hot breath on your face. "You are the person I would have loved to marry this summer. I cannot tell you how relieved and scared I am that you are here. Relieved because I know you are still alive, scared because you are suffering now."
"As long as you are by my side, any suffering is bearable." he said softly, leaning closer to you. "When we get out of here, will you marry me?"
"Yes." you said, but your happiness was short-lived, "But what if we never get out of here?"
"One day we will." Rog said and gently kissed your lips. It was only a brief, feather-light touch, but it still showed you that he meant it. "And if it is through death itself. Then we will wait for each other in the halls, and when we are reembodied, I will take you as my wife and make you the happiest elleth in all of Valinor."

I think there's no better fandom to be a nerd in than the Tolkien fandom. Mostly thanks to the professor himself. People I know be like "You're learning a language just because of a book?! Girl, you're so obsessed!"
Well, at least I'm just learning a language, not inventing one! And at least it's just one language, not ten! You think my hour long rants are annoying? You can be glad my current obsession-level is maybe 5% of Tolkien's, or we'd be having an entirely different conversation right now.
Really, Tolkien was the worst of all of us, and no one can tell me otherwise. You can also see in the way he wrote his characters that he was just fangirling the entire time. I literally see him waking his wife in the middle of the night, like "I can't sleep, I just keep thinking about Fingon, he's so cool and epic and tragic and aahhhhhh!". I also think nothing makes a better story than the author being just as much in love with the characters as the fans are.

I feel like the fandom is sleeping on a potential horror reading of the Oath of Feanor as its own sort of powerful metaphysical being that the Feanorians accidentally created when they swore the oath. A being capable of sleeping and waking. A being capable of betrayal and torment. Like that's some good horror shit right there.

Always Beautiful
Pairing: Lindir x reader
Summary: In preparation for your first official date together with Lindir, you bought a beautiful dress. When you put it on, however, you get insecure about how it looks on your body.
Warnings: insecurity
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Tumblr media
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
You looked down uncertainly at the glittering dress you had bought especially for Celebríans begetting day. But now that you were standing in front of the mirror, you doubted whether it had really been such a good idea.
The dress was a lilac colour and very tight-fitting. You had actually really liked the dress, but now that you were looking at yourself in the mirror, you had serious doubts.
It didn't seem so pretty anymore since you had put it on, at least that was your impression.
Since Lindir had confessed his love to you two weeks ago, it was the first time you had planned to go out together and you had intended to look beautiful. But now that you looked at yourself, you could hardly see anything you considered beautiful.
You bit your lip to stifle the tears that welled up in your eyes. You just wanted everything to go perfectly that evening. What if Lindir didn't want to be with you anymore? Or if he would regret confessing to you.
As the first tears escaped your eyes, there was a sudden knock at the door. You flinched in horror and wiped your cheeks. Was it that late already?
You had completely forgotten the time and now Lindir was already there to pick you up. You hadn't even managed to comb your hair yet.
But you couldn't just leave Lindir standing outside the door.
So you took a deep breath, turned round without another glance at the mirror and opened the door.
Lindir had tied his hair into a neat plait, which made his cute face stand out even more. He also appeared to be wearing his finest robes.
You were actually toying with the idea of telling him you weren't feeling so well. On the other hand, he had seen you in the dress a long time ago and there was this pleased and excited gleam in his eyes that made you feel queasy just at the thought of leaving him sitting there.
"You look beautiful," he suddenly whispered and you could see his cheeks turn bright red.
You didn't quite know why, but this comment brought more tears to your eyes and you couldn't do anything to stop them.
Lindir carefully reached for your hands and squeezed them gently. "What is the matter? Did I say something wrong? I am sorry."
"No." You sniffled loudly. "No, you didn't do anything wrong, it is my fault."
Feeling his warm hands actually calmed you down a little, but you still couldn't really stop crying.
"I look terrible!" you said out loud and pulled your hands away from his again. You didn't quite know why, because as soon as you did you missed the warmth radiating from his fingers.
Lindir let out a surprised gasp. "No, you don't at all!" he said hastily. "I have never seen anyone so beautiful."
You wrapped your arms around yourself and looked down. His words barely got through to you, because you didn't believe they were true. "I am not- "
And that's when Lindir gently put his arms around you and pulled you into a soft embrace. "Yes, you are." he whispered softly into your hair. "If you cannot see it with your eyes, then let me tell you. You are beautiful. The dress frames your beautiful body perfectly and would only be half as beautiful without you wearing it, but you would be just as beautiful without it as you are with it. And your hair shines as brightly as ever in the sunlight."
"Even though I haven't even combed it yet," you sniffled softly.
Lindir laughed softly. "You are always pretty, even with your hair in a mess." You could practically hear the blush in his voice.
You hugged him tighter and sighed. You really needed those words. "I am sorry we are late because of me."
"Oh, that is no problem. As long as I am with you, this evening is a success." he whispered gently. "If you want, I can comb your hair."
"Gladly." you said and the thought of feeling his warm fingers in your hair made your body tingle with excitement. "But can we stay like this for now?"
"Of course, Meleth nîn."

Yesss! My girl Elwing is so underrated, she deserves more love!
Y’all, don’t underestimate Elwing. Yeah Eärendil does a lot, but Elwing does a lot too.
To start with the little things, it is she who preserves and passes on the Ring of Barahir to her son Elros. But that’s not the only thing she saves.
She saves the WORLD!
Elwing saves the Silmaril from the sons of Fëanor! Without her, there would be no Star of Eärendil because Eärendil would have no Silmaril.
Also, while Eärendil convinces the Valar to help, it is Elwing who persuades the Teleri to lend them their ships so the army can actually get to Middle-earth. Instead of just slaying and stealing like the Noldor, Elwing uses common sense to get ahold of those ships. Rather than waste time building new ships, the Army of the West reaches Middle-earth in time thanks to Elwing securing ships that were already built and ready. Eärendil’s efforts would’ve been for nothing if there were no ships to actually transport the army.
And also, she gets to shapeshift into a bird and fly around whenever she wants.
Elwing is AMAZING!

hi, I just wanted to pop in and say I'm so happy to see that someone else understands how important soft!Celegorm is ❤️ I would love to see more of him if you feel up to it, hcs with a spouse and/or kiddos maybe? Honestly happy with anything soft though 🥰
A/N: Thank you so much!!!! I LOVE soft!Celegorm and I am so happy you do too. When I saw this ask I was so happy🥰. Writing about him again was a lot of fun. I went with the Reader being Celegorm's daughter! Hope you enjoy!!!!!😊
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
♡ Celegorm would be really protective, whether you were confident or shy
♡ But he wouldn't be protective in a oppressing way, but in a worried way
♡ He wouldn't forbid you to do something just because he doesn't like it, but would instead teach you how to defend yourself or talk to you about it in detail. The last thing he wants is for you to feel oppressed
♡ If you were a shy person, he would constantly tell you how proud he is of you and try to boost your self-confidence in other ways too
♡ Before he had a daughter, he only wove flower crowns for his wife, now he does the same for you and it makes him overjoyed to see how happy you are about the colourful flowers
♡ If you were ever to doubt yourself because you don't have any special abilities like the others in your family, he would do everything he could to show you that you are more special to him than the others even without them
♡ Would never let you think he is disappointed in you
♡ If you're sad about something for a long time, he'll persuade you to go for a walk in the woods until it gets dark, then you'll lie down in a clearing and stare at the stars while you talk about your feelings
♡ Celegorm has noticed over time that you open up to him better when he opens up to you first
♡ If he's ever completely absorbed in his duties, he would always try to spend at least an hour a day with his family, because you are most important to him
♡ Is very careful when he takes you hunting for fear you might not want to come along in the future
♡ His biggest fear is that one day you might be sad that he is your father and not one of his brothers
♡ When you were a newborn, he couldn't stop looking at you, he was so enchanted, he stood next to you for hours while you slept with a gentle smile and shining eyes
♡ Afraid of the responsibility he now bears, but couldn't wish for a better feeling than that of being an Atar
♡ Especially when you lie on his chest as a newborn and sleep as he strokes your still short hair
♡ Is himself more emotional than many people think, and when he realised that you seemed to have inherited this from him, he always tries to show you that you could talk to him about anything
♡ When you were a smaller elf, he stopped going into the forest to hunt and took you with him to show you the nature instead
♡ You aren't afraid of any animal, because they always remind you of your Atar
♡ Only when you were older did he go hunting again, but he rarely stayed away for more than two days unless you or his wife accompanied him
♡ Because of his closeness to Curufin, you and Tyelpë grew up inseparable and practically like siblings
♡ Celegorm is very affectionate, which is why he always hugs you and gives you a kiss on the brow whenever he comes home, no matter how briefly he's been away
♡ When you were younger and you were in the forest together, you always sat on his shoulders
♡ Loves tickling you, especially when you were a smal elfling, because as long as you were laughing, all was right with the world
♡ Always tries to hide from you when he's feeling bad, but when you realise and give him comfort and tell him you love him, he feels better straight away
♡ If you ever have a romantic relationship later on, he wouldn't try to scare the person away but get to know them better, after all, if the person makes you happy, than he is happy for you
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

I'm currently rewatching the fellowship of the ring and I just remembered a theory that my ten-year-old self came up with when I first watched this movie. I still don't know how I came up with it, but ten year old me had the theory that Galadriel is actually Frodo's mother. No idea were that came from but yeah...
And now that I know more about tolkien lore I realise how WILD that plot twist would have been. I mean, it would have made Frodo Arwen's uncle AND he would have been of the line of Finwë.

The Calm After The Storm
Pairing: Rog x fem!Reader
Summary: After the fall of Gondolin, Rog and you, his wife, are on the run and hide in the forest. After he falls into a very deep sleep, you think his breathing stopped and you start having a breakdown.
Warnings: crying, mentions of the fall of Gondolin
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
When Rog woke up, he had forgotten about the events of the previous day for a very brief moment. Forgotten that your home had burned. He had forgotten about the look of despair on your face, which was more painful than watching the city burn. Forgotten how your trembling hand had felt in his when you had fled hand in hand with nothing but the clothes on your bodies.
But then it all came flooding back when he heard a sound he hated more than anything: your crying. He hated it because it meant you were sad, and that was something he never wanted for you.
This whole day had left quite a mark on him. He had been Morgoth's prisoner before, and knowing that Rog had so narrowly escaped him made his heart skip a beat.
But what made him even more upset was the fact that you had so narrowly escaped that fate. He himself would rather have died than go back, but you... You were so kind and compassionate, he didn't think you would have been able to take that step. And he knew that he wouldn't have been able to save you from this fate either. And that thought scared him.
It took a while for his muscles to obey him, but he soon managed to sit up.
And what he saw broke his heart. There you were, his beautiful wife, with tear-stained cheeks, red swollen eyes and a shocked expression on your face.
And when you opened your mouth, his heart sank.
"I- I thought you were dead," you shudder and a new wave of tears escaped your eyes.
"Melmë, what makes you think that?" His trembling hands gripped yours and he squeezed them tightly. "I am here. I'm all right. Everything is fine, we-" He swallowed. "-We can do this."
"You were sleeping so deeply I- I thought- "you swallowed desperately and sniffled."- I thought you had stopped breathing." Before he could reply, you squeezed his hands tightly. "You must not- not you too. I- I cannot live without you, Rog! You are all I have left. I know it is selfish, but- but please don't go!"
He lifted a hand to place it on your cheek and you nestled your cheek against his palm.
"I am not going anywhere. I would never think of leaving you. You are my world, my everything." Rog leaned forward and gently kissed your lips. "We can do this, together."
Slowly, your tears dried up and you breathed in deeper. You didn't say anything for a while, and Rog knew that you were both more or less unconsciously listening for sounds in the dark of the forest. It hurt Rog a lot that you had to lead such a life now, full of fear and uncertainty, and he would try to do everything he could to make it better again. To make you happy again.
"Come here." he said as you flinched in fear when a small frog jumped out of a nearby bush. Animals could also be Morgoth's spies, but Rog was sure this wasn't one of them. He had developed some kind of instinct for them over time. Besides, he didn't think Morgoth was really looking for you, after all, you two weren't important to him.
He pulled gently on your arm and made you snuggle up to him with your ear directly over his chest so that you could always hear his heartbeat and know that he was still with you.
"Get some sleep, Melmë. I will keep watch." He gently kissed your hair and wrapped one arm around your waist and began to massage gentle circles into your hip. He used his other hand to gently caress the soft skin of your cheek with his knuckles. "As long as we have each other, all is good, and I have no intention of leaving."

A Quiet Afternoon
Pairing: Celegorm x reader
Summary: You think about Celegorm's return and you marriage to him while you spend a quiet afternoon together.
A/N: Since Celegorm is married to the Reader in here he did not try to get Luthien to marry him (since elves can only marry and fall in love once, Finwë was from what I understood the only exception), he still betrayed her trust and kidnapped her, though. Just for understanding and context.
Hope you enjoy it!

Tyelkormo's head layed in your lap and he breathed in and out calmly. The sun fell on his silver-coloured hair and made it shine.
It had been so incredibly long since you had seen him so relaxed. The last time had certainly been before he had left for Middle-earth with his father and brothers. Back then, when your beloved had been torn away from you.
When Tyelko had come back, he hadn't wanted to talk to you because he had been so incredibly ashamed of his actions and regretted them that he was convinced you wouldn't want him back.
You had been angry. You had been angry for many years, but over time it had diminished, because through the marriage bond you two had, you could feel his longing for you and his growing despair. You could feel his mental state getting worse and worse and how some days he woke up disorientated, not knowing what to do with himself.
Of course you didn't forgive him for abandoning you or for all the atrocities he had committed in Middle-earth. All the kinslayings, the kidnapping of Luthien and so much more. He had to bear responsibility for it all, and yet you still loved him.
You had lost all contact with him through the marrige bond when he died. You went to Nerdanel that same day and you cried together until the early hours of the morning.
That's why you knew exactly when Tyelko had returned. Suddenly you felt his presence, clearer and closer than you had in a long time. His fëa no longer seemed so broken, but as if someone had tried to mend it. But it was still not healed and whole and you doubted that it ever would be again. To much had happend.
You didn't hear from him for weeks until you bumped into him on the street. He had been looking at some flowers by the side of the road, completely lost in thought, and only noticed your presence when you had already seen him. He later told you that these flowers didn't exist in Middle-earth and that he was really shocked to see them again. That it had reminded him of so many things that once had been.
That day, without giving it a second thought, you had wrapped your arms around Tyelkormo's neck and held him tightly.
Somehow you had expected him to laugh and playfully say: "Did you miss me?" At least he would have done that back when everything had been okay.
But he had started to cry.
He had apologised to you, got down on his knees in front of you and told you not to hate him, even if you would want to go your separate ways from now on. You had felt through the marriage bond that he didn't think he would survive if he knew you hated him.
So you had also got down on your knees and stroked his cheeks softly. Feeling his skin on yours again had been a feeling so great you weren't able to describe it. Tyelko had practically leaned into your touch, which made you wonder how long it had been since anyone had touched him with so much love.
That same day he had moved back in with you, but it was different than it had been before.
Normally Tyelko slept like a rock at home (not in the forest, there he was always on high alert) but he woke up several times a night from his nightmares, shivering all over and seeking your warmth. He often whispered something like: "I let them die." Or "Luthien trusted me... I betrayed her trust." Or he would cry for Curufin and Carnistir.
He was still up before you every morning.
Every day he gave you a flower and did as much as he could around the house until you woke up.
He was also, and you couldn't think of a better word for it, shy.
Actually, Tyelko had always had a certain self-confidence, even if he had always hidden some insecurities underneath, which he had revealed to you at some point. But now he always avoided your gaze when you looked him straight in the eye. He was also much quieter than usual and apologised more often.
When you slept with each other, he always started crying. The first time you panicked, but he later confessed that that was because he is so overwhelmed that you really want him still and to feel your body and fëa so close again. To know that you still want to give him love.
Today you had walked through a wooded area behind your house to a small hill with lots of wildflowers and some large willows. You had loved going here back then a lot.
Last night, Tyelko's nightmares had become particularly bad. He hadn't been able to sleep a wink the whole night after and was quite emotionally exhausted.
His fingers had been trembling with fatigue all day, which was why he had accidentally dropped a glass. At first you thought everything was fine, but half an hour later you found him crying quietly in the garden. He had felt so confused again, as if he didn't know what to do with his sadness.
So you had taken his hand and you had come here.
And now he was lying asleep on your lap as you gently stroked his hair.
He let out a soft whimper and you had to stifle a giggle. Tyelko had opened his eyes briefly and looked directly into the sun. At that moment, he made an expression that you had often seen on him in the years back then.
And then you knew that no matter what happened, he was your Tyelkormo and you would find a way to help him heal as much as possible.
