Alnwick Castle is located in the town of Alnwick in the English county of Northumberland. It is the seat of the Duke of Northumberland, built following the Norman conquest (during the 11th century), and has been renovated and remodeled a number of times. It is a Grade I listed building, which in the United Kingdom, is when a building has been placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. As of 2012 the castle has received over 800,000 visitors per year.
