White Christianity (both Catholic and Protestant) is still hegemonic in the United States (and plenty of other places too), which means even if you weren't raised in a religious environment you were still exposed to that ideology.
Puritanical (and often contradictory) sexual norms are a big part of that.
That's why when people talk about "purity culture" online (when the English-speaking internet is dominated by white US voices), it's not saying that like. Everyone grew up wearing promise rings or being shamed for "tempting" boys and men by simply existing. It's saying that shaming around sex and sexuality is part of a value system that pretty much everyone has at least some familiarity with, and that lots of people can fall into thinking that way pretty easily.
This is like. An extremely well-trodden area of feminist critique. Like you can't do even a cursory reading or queer or feminist studies without finding scholars directly engaging with this.

also, i keep thinking about that artist who lost an arm and she made self-portraits and of course they depicted herself without an arm, and people were like why do you keep marking art about the loss of your arm, and she was like i don’t. i’m making art about myself and i only have one arm.
while a lot of people write poetry about their own pain, sometimes personal poetry is just a reflection of who they are, and who they are is shaped by traumatic events and other things that you may find upsetting.

One can even add that the reason why the Other didn't help Lady Patience and his son to secure their granddaughter was due to his involvement with the Division. Rassilion could've waited for Tecteum to arrange a mission for his son in order to have an opening to attack Arkytior/Lady Larn.
Either because womb-borns were a crime, or because she was proof that rassilon also had a womb-born descendent (if you wish to mix both of Susan's origins).

Ngl, I’ve notice a few parallels between two of my favourite fictional ‘evil parents.’ Both Ikari Gendo and Tecteun (of House Lungbarrow?) manipulate and abuse their child to their own ends, and eventually plan to end the current iteration of the universe and rewrite reality to their own whims…It could also be argued that the line in ‘The Timeless Children’ about Tecteun using ‘Gallifreyan Gene-Splicing’ could imply they created the Looms, and thus was the creator of the first artificially born Gallifreyans  who I imagine to be somewhat similar to the various Ayanami clones in NGE. (Apart from the special executive, who were failed prototypes by Rassilon.)

This makes sense with The Wintertime Paradox take on the Faction surviving the war by de-existing.
headcanon: due to Faction Paradox nearly discovering (and possibly rivalling in power) Division, Division manipulated events so that the War in Heaven became the Last Great Time War and the Faction never came to exist

Do you think Tecteum was from Pythia's time, maybe even during the transition from the last one to Rassilon, since she was the first astronaut.
Maybe Tecteum was the scientists behind designing space travel, biodata, regeneration, looms, but in the early years the only ones credited where Rassilon, Omega and the Other.
Sounds like she was very much more into the Division and enacting Rassilons vision of a rational universe. (maybe the Division was behind the whole anti-time squabble?).
For some reason I imagine her as related to Patience.
