hey so I have no idea if anyone's asked you this before but I wanted to ask how you feel about people using your art in edits or as their profile pictures etc? with explicit credit of course, and no pressure I just wanted to ask what you're comfortable with :D

Hey! Thanks so much for the ask. I'm completely fine with my art being used in edits or as profile pictures / banners! I really enjoy seeing my art like that, and if anyone ever decides to use it in edits, I'd love to see them!

I feel uncomfortable with my work being used without credit in any circumstances, and even though you didn't ask, I want to mention that I 100% do not endorse my or anyone elses art being used to train AI.

I didn’t say it - you didn’t have to

Shooting sensuality and unspoken intimacy in the van scene

The primary visual indicators of mood in this scene: warm tones, symmetry, sunlight, a sense of safety and spaciousness compared to other times we’ve seen the van interior, with an emphasis on texture and the artist’s sensory experience: 

the nap of the canvas, the strokes of paint, close ups on skin texture

+ silent communication through expression and body language on Mike’s part

We also have very tight intimate shots with parts of their faces often cut off in frame, but never in an uncomfortable way. A shallow depth of field in-camera blends the background into soft focus, positing it at an unquantifiable distance from the subject and so creating a subconscious sense of both intimacy and safety while always drawing our attention to the fore. 

Mike looks up at Will like this after being told that he is the heart of their group of friends. That he is the inspiration that keeps them going. These are not throwaway sentiments to hear, and their expressions of course relate to what is being said, but the overall vibration Mike is giving at this moment is that of someone caught in an unexpected moment of unstoppable intimacy. This will be, emotionally, one of the defining moments of his life.
