One thing I want to know how it is going to work. Gaster was shattered in pieces in the original Undertale, so how does it works here? He was shattered in one piece (that it is Papyrus) or there are other pieces of him along with Papyrus?

He was shattered, the main "piece" is the Gaster we all know! But he's more like a weird omnipresent being

There are other pieces of him! Not only Papyrus, Papyrus is more like a piece that... kind of takes his place physically??? So that's why it's the same body

Other pieces do exist, but they're not like Papyrus

Ig you could say they're smaller, or invisible or not even alive, some probably can't even be perceived

Actually Sans can perfectly understand Wingdings and other skeletons could technically also understand him

It's just any other type of monster that wouldn't be able to understand him

Must be frustrating...

But he's got other ways to communicate

He can talk on the regular undertale font all the other characters use for certain amounts of time, if he puts some effort in it

(This is based on the fact that Sans can change font for short periods of time in undertale, so maybe other skeletons can too!

Also, in Deltarune, the voice we assume is Gaster is talking in the regular undertale font, not wingdings.)

You mentioned Papyrus sometimes not reacting to his name, bc it wasn't always his name, yet Sans doesn't remember WD.

Do they both just not remember his old name and he picked a new one? Or was the name "overriden" in the fuzzy memories they do have?
