WELCOME, WELCOME
This is a competition to decide the best 80’s anime character. I’m a very busy person so this will go in a slower rate.
Polls will be tagged: #80sanimecharacter and #poll.
A few rules:
- only anime characters from the 80’s, or at least from shows that peaked in that time - if it started earlier but got famous then, I will consider it. In the same way, if it’s from the early 90’s but still carries the right vibe I’ll allow it
- animations made in the west will be considered in a case by case basis
- I’ll only allow one character per fandom, but feel free to submit more than one - we will have preliminary rounds to decide who will represent the show.
- in case of a tie or close match (that could have been decided by a few more votes) I’ll consider both winners and they move on as a duo and win as a duo.
- propaganda is encouraged. Hate or unwanted criticism to shows is not. You will be blocked.
- should go unsaid don’t be an asshole, keep things civil
- yes I am biased towards a few of these. I will not apologise.

And the winner is...
Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars: Rebels! With him being an excellent father figure to the Ghost crew, it was shocking that he didn't quite make it to the big leagues. Nevertheless, Kanan has proven himself as one of the best dads in animation - and that's something worth celebrating.
Thanks to everyone who participated! Stay tuned for what's next: every other dad that was submitted!

It's finally here: not just for the runners-up round of this showdown, but for the original set of submissions as a whole! Only two dads remain, and their battle will be legendary.
On Thursday, 6/22, your match is:
Kanan Jarrus (Star Wars: Rebels) vs. Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)
May the best dad win!

The Semifinals
Well folks, I can't believe we already made it this far! 4 dads are now competing for the trophy, as we can see below:
On Tuesday, 6/13, your matches are:
Tatsuo Kusakabe (My Neighbor Totoro) vs. Kanan Jarrus (Star Wars: Rebels)
Lawrence Fletcher (Phineas and Ferb) vs. Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)
Unlike the other rounds, voting will last 1 week. If your favorite dad has been coasting off of general popularity, now may be the time to fire up the propaganda machine and sway as many voters as you can.
May the best dad win!

by the way, the photo you used of phoenix is him w his found family and not his canon adopted daughter :) Ik you can’t edit polls but if he wins you might want to use a dif photo /gen
Trucy's weird case, since she we know she's his daughter but she hasn't appeared in the anime yet. But yeah, I think it would fit better.
